Chapter Ten

Haunted

I grabbed the phone then locked myself in the bathroom with it. I could hear Jacob calling my name impatiently.

"Bella?"

"Yes, I'm ah here."

"I heard you were back and I wanted to talk to you. Bella how could you disappear on me like that? I was worried sick."

"I'm sorry Jacob, please don't be mad. I can hear it in your voice, your pissed off aren't you?"

"Of course I am, I heard you were away because you wanted to be. Where were you?"

"I was away at a tower, one I need you to help me find again."

"What were you doing there?"

"Edward broke up with me and I was stressed out. Look I found it by accident and now I don't know how to get back and I left something important I want to pick up."

"Wait a minute you think I'm going to take you back there?"

"I just need you to help me find it please Jake, I need this."

"You're not telling me everything and I can tell, if you want my help you have got to be honest. What is going on?"

"Edward did break up with me and I did find the place by accident, I needed to be alone. Look Jake if you don't help me someone else will, I thought you said you would be there for me."

"You really do know how to be very manipulative when you want to be. I'm only going to help because I want to know what the hell is going on. Do you have something from there, something that can help me trace the scent of the place. Or just some details about the place and the area around it, things I can work with."

"Yes, I have clothes I wore while I was there and I can definitely tell you what was close by the place. How about I write down everything I can remember about the place, writing has sort of become my thing."

"Well you do that and I will start the search but keep in mind I'm only doing it so I can figure out what the hell is going on."

"I told you everything, just come by tonight to pick up the info."

For the first time I felt some relief, I knew that Jacob could find it, my plan was to wait there. Just wait until he showed up eventually, he had to check the place.

The next morning I decided to go to Edwards house, I needed to talk to them. Jasper or Emmet could definitely point me in the right direction, they knew exactly where the place was. As I walked there I could feel someone staring at me, it was chilling almost. Every time I turned to look no one was there, then I wondered if it was him.

"Caius if it's you please say something, I miss you. I want to be with you, Caius is it you?"

No one said anything but I could feel him, I felt his presence. I knew he was there and I knew he heard me, why wasn't he saying anything.

"Caius please, it's not what you think I didn't mean to hurt you. I was afraid but I'm not anymore if you just talk to me I can tell you everything, we can work it out please."

Nothing but silence, it was like talking to a ghost so I kept walking. Just as I was close to Edwards house I felt wind rush by me so I stood very still. That's when I could feel it in my bones, he was standing right behind me. I felt his breath on my neck, he pressed his body against me then softly kissed my neck.

I grabbed his hand, then he wrapped both his arms around me. It felt so nice and I could feel a tear hit my cheek, I was happy. He whispered in my ear softly.

"I want to make love to you Bella."

"Me too, I missed you."

"Don't worry I don't blame you, you were manipulated Bella. I'm going to take care of that problem real soon but I need to know something."

"What?"

"Did you make love to him."

"What? Who are you talking about? I didn't do anything with anyone Caius you're mistaken."

"Bella I could smell the lust in the air."

"I was only thinking of you, I had a dream about you and I touched myself. If you smelled anything it was from that."

"Why did you leave me?"

"Jasper took me to a meadow that morning and we watched you feed. He wanted me to see what it was like, that just scared me but I'm ready now."

"Wait a minute he took you to watch me?" I could hear his frustration, I knew he was angry.

"He didn't do it in a spiteful way okay it was to help me understand. Could you just face me please so we could talk face to face."

Like that he was in front of me, It felt unreal and it was the answer to my prayers but there was something in his eyes, rage.

"Caius are you okay?"

"I will be, Bella I'm not going to lose you okay and no one is going to destroy what we have." He sounded intense and I could see that he meant every single word.

"Caius your scaring me, please no one is trying to divide us."

"How can you say this, they are and they almost succeeded."

"But they didn't so let it go and lets move on."

"Bella I'm not going to do what I did before, certain people can't get second chances okay. But don't you worry about that because nothing and no one can change us or what we feel."

"So are you coming back?"

"Don't tell them I'm back just keep them in the dark. I'm going to come get you tonight and take you back to the tower."

"What are we going to do?"

"Make love finally."

"Let's go now Caius."

"No, there's some things I need to do, some plans I need to put in place but tonight I will come to your window and take you back to our place."

There was something in his eyes, something I could not connect to. I could not tell what Caius was up to and at the moment that was not my main concern. I just wanted to be with him, make love to him; show him how much I loved him. I could not wait to meet up with him later that night.
