Hey guys, yeah so I haven't updated in a really long time (sincerest apologies) and I am going to attempt to make up for it with another chapter. This one will focus on Severus and Lucius. And if I can just say something (I have said this previously but I am just repeating myself in order to make this clear) this obviously isn't canon, I have loved the harry potter series and world since I was 7 years old and I along with the majority of the fandom who write hp fanfics still very much appreciate the series for what it is and we aren't just dumb fangirls who don't care for the series. Sorry rant over just annoyed at internet people telling me I'm stupid. (Once again sorry, but not really, just standing up for my fandom and all the wonderful people apart of it) Also side note, I know that the character's are a little ooc but I'm doing my best, I've also been reading a lot about the history of everything that was happening at the time that the marauders were at Hogwarts and have been trying to fit that in so you can all enjoy the little references that make the world go round.

"I'm telling you Sev it was the sweetest thing" Severus Snape listened half heartedly as his best friend spoke of her new boyfriend. He was happy that she was happy but he still wasn't sure where he stood with James Potter, deep down he still believed the boy to be a complete…well prick for a better word. He was still confused as to why Jam- Potter was nice to him the other day, he took him to the hospital wing and made sure he was okay. It was quite strange.

He was however considering giving him a chance, especially now that he was dating Lily. He had kept quite a close eye on the pair of them lately, just making sure that he was treating her right, it seemed like he was…unfortunately.

"You weren't even listening were you Sev?" Lily said sighing.

"Pardon?...I mean, er….Yes Potter does indeed have pretty eyes"
Lily rolled her eyes.

"Alright well this is me" she gestured to the door on the other side of the corridor.

"I have a free period…I'll see you later Lily" Severus said smiling.

She nodded smiling and walked into the class, Snape turned around and walked the other way as he saw her being greeted by James.

As soon as Snape made his way into the Slytherin common room he was greeted by the rather humorous sight of Lucius Malfoy, banging his head against a desk, his long blonde hair falling around him.

Snape spoke as he put his books down.

"You right?"

Lucius groaned in annoyance, his voice coming out muffled as his face was blocked by the wooden desk.

"Why do I even need to know this crap?"

Severus walked over to him, picked up his text book to look at the page his was on.

"The arrival of the snitch?"

"What of it?" Lucius said, annoyed once more.

"We're onto anti-muggle precautions" Snape said, putting the book back.

Lucius slowly raised his head from the desk to look up at Severus, his face expressionless…before he once again banged his head on the desk.

Snape made his way over to his drawers and pulled out a couple of pages of parchment.

"Here" Severus extended his arm.

Lucius took the pages of parchment from him and quickly scanned them.

"Are these-

"My notes" Snape finished.

"Thank you" Lucius said in surprise.

They both held eye contact for a few seconds, Snape appreciated the moment.

"So how's Potter going? I'm sure you've been receiving loads of unnecessary

Information"

"Apparently he's a…. bloody good kisser" Severus shuddered at the words.

Malfoy laughed.

"You should have gotten to her first" Lucius said standing up.

"What do you mean?" Severus watched Lucius walk across the room to put the notes away.

"Well I'm sure you could have shown Potter whose boss…in that area I mean" Lucius added a wink at the end of his sentence and Snape found himself blushing.

"Oh, I er"

"I'll see you later Severus" Lucius interrupted Snape's embarrassed stuttering and walked out of the common room.

Snape held a hand to his cheek and found that he was blushing.

It's just Malfoy, you talk to him all the time, get a grip!

Severus sat down at his desk and continued studying, Lucius Malfoy taking up the backs of his mind.

The thumping in his head the next morning, as well as the bags under his eyes told him that he didn't get much sleep the previous night.

Severus groaned as he sat up in bed. He had spent way too much time studying, he certainly didn't forget anything but his head hurt like hell and for some reason his previous conversation with Lucius Malfoy was still lurking in the corners of his mind.

He quickly got into his Slytherin Robes and made his way down the corridor towards the banquet hall, hungry for some breakfast.

He helped himself to two pieces of toast with Jam and a goblet of hot chocolate.

"Hey you ready for the test?" Severus looked up to see Lucius Malfoy sitting in front of him, looking anxious.

"Are you?"

Lucius grinned sheepishly.

"Absolutely not"

Snape rolled his eyes as he took a sip from his goblet. He answered him as he put it down.

"I think I'll be okay, did you understand all the notes I gave you?"

"Mostly, I still don't understand why we have to learn all that theory on Quidditch, can't we just you know…. play?"

Severus smiled at Lucius's childlike attitude towards study…although he did have to agree with him.

Severus took another bite of toast and chewed it thoughtfully as he watched Lily and James make their way over to the Gryffindor table.

Jealousy began to boil a little inside, he felt a sudden tightness in his chest as a little anxiety and loneliness overcame him. Lily was his best friend. He needed her; she made him whole, kept him happy.

Lucius must have noticed Severus's distraction because he had to speak up several times before he was heard.

"Severus!" He spoke more loudly.

Snape shook his head and turned to face him.

"Sorry." He quickly stammered.

"That's alright"

He paused.

"Hey listen…"

Severus looked up at his fellow Slytherin, curious.

"Some of the other Slytherins were organizing a sort of…get together later on tonight"

Snape raised an eyebrow.

"Do you want to go?"

Snape looked down at his food, he had suddenly lost his appetite.

Lucius reached across the table and nudged one of Snape's hands.

"Come on Snape" Lucius grinned at him, trying to convince him.

Severus shrugged.

"I guess…I have nothing better to do, unless…." He trailed off as he saw Lily and James laughing together and smiling about something.
"No, yeah..it's fine, I'll come…um where is this "get together" happening exactly?"

"The room of requirement" He almost whispered.

Severus raised both eyebrows this time, he had never been to the room of requirement, sure he had heard of it, read of it…but never actually been in it.

Although he felt sick of the idea of having to attempt to be social…it would be interesting he supposed, and Lucius would be there of course, he blushed as unwelcome thoughts splayed his mind.

"I've never been there" He said finally.

Lucius grinned again and leaned forward, so their foreheads were almost touching.

"I know where to go" Lucius smiled at him once more before getting up. He looked over at Severus who had become silent.

"Come on, we've got a test to take"

…...
