I looked up at Emmett one more time before we hit the last step before entering into the kitchen. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. Everyone's very shocked faces turned towards us, their eyes darted to us holding hands then back up to our faces. I looked at Esme who had a smug but proud look on her face and Carlisle's face resembled Esme. Alice was basically bouncing in her seat while Edward winked at me. Rose glanced at us before giving me a smirk and turned to glare at Jessica.
"Should've known." Jessica mumbled
"Excuse me?" Rose asked
"I should've known he was fucking that whore. Doesn't she date Mike Newton?" Jessica asked, pissed off wasn't even the word to describe what she looked like. I'm surprised she even remembers Mike since he isn't a rich guy and not the best looking. I ignored her and took a seat at the kitchen island and Emmett stood beside me.
"Jessica are you sure you're pregnant?" Emmett asked he looked pale, I grabbed his hand and he squeezed for dear life.
"Yup you're the only one." She said looking down at the table
"You're lying." Jasper snarled and Jessica jumped at his tone
"Knowing her she has fucked her whole circle and she dated Emmett to move up and fuck with people of our standard." Rose spat and Jessica glared at her
"Please tell us the truth." I pleaded with her. I didn't want to be in a relationship with such baggage, I didn't have time for it.
"Oh wow your whore doesn't want to take care of your child while she fucks you and Mike." Jessica said. I took a moment to breathe in deeply and not take the frying pan not too far away from me and swing away at that bitch.
"Watch your mouth." Esme warned Jessica and cringed under the look Esme was giving her.
"Can we please sit in the living room so I don't take this pan and slap the shit out of her." I said getting up without an answer. I heard everyone following behind me and I had to ask myself why in the hell did my life become a soap opera.
I sat down on the couch that I loved, Rose and Alice sat on both sides of me. Emmett glared at them until Alice moved beside Rose and he sat down beside me pulling me close to him. Yeah, he always smells this good.
"Okay um will you tell us when you found out?" Carlisle asked
"A couple weeks ago." Jessica said
"I know that baby isn't my brothers." Alice said to Jessica and a flash of fear flickered in her eyes
"Fuck this I can't keep up the act let me cut the bullshit; the baby's father should be here any minute. I am here for some payback okay? Great! You all think you're so fucking high and mighty and I hate that you won't accept me so I will get the fame I want." Jessica snarled and we were all speechless.
"It will go down like this, either give me the amount of money I am asking for or I will sell a story saying Emmett and I were and engaged and expecting a baby but he called it off because his affair with Isabella Swan was getting intense so not only will Emmett look horrible so will Bella and ultimately some other lies about the rest of you will be thrown in to ruin your reputation." Jessica said looking smug. Her phone beeped and she went over to the panel to open the gate. Soon she was walking to the door and I be damned if this fucker didn't walk in.
"Mike is the father." Jessica said sitting him down with her. Once again we were all staring at them with our mouths hanging open. Mike kept his eyes down and I took that as the moment to get up and slap him hard enough for him to almost fall out the chair.
"Don't fucking touch him again!" Jessica yelled in my face and I slapped her too, fuck her being pregnant.
"You sorry piece of shit!" I yelled "You came to my home talking all this bullshit saying I cheated on you and I was nothing but a money grubbing whore. News flash you piece of shit you were talking about the wrong girl. I fucking loved your dumb ass and look what I get. No wonder this past half year has been hell because who knows how long you've had your shriveled cock stuck up that over used sorry excuse for a vagina. Ugh fuck the both of you and I pray to God I let this go before I go home or I will find you both and shove fucking gasoline rags down your throat and set you on fire!" I yelled.
I hadn't realized how quiet it was until my breathing and blood rushing through my veins was the only thing I heard. I flinched when a hand landed on my shoulder and it was Edward pulling me away. He wiped away the tears I didn't know fell and made sure I was breathing correctly. I kept pacing back and forth. He had the nerve to call me that and he was the real whore. I heard Jessica sobbing but hell I didn't care.
"Bella…" I heard Mike say but I ignored his stupid ass
"Bella!" Mike yelled and Emmett was in his face before he could finish
"If she doesn't want to talk to you then she won't and you won't force her." Emmett growled and Mike moved closer to him. Soon we heard another scream as Mike lay on the floor holding his nose.
"Carlisle check him out before he gets blood on my floor. I don't want this carpet stained." Esme said not caring about Mike but her floor and that made me giggle.
"Jessica why would you lie like this, it is so petty? However I would expect something like this from you." I said
"Emmett is supposed to me mine. I finally got my hands on him and I was going to be a Cullen I just knew it. Now look what you and this family has done of course he would pick his family over me but I have no fucking idea why he would choose you over me." Jessica said
"Well Jessica, Bella means a lot to me and I would pick her over you any day." Emmett said and Jessica gave him a look.
"You all will pay for this especially you Bella." Jessica snarled as she stormed towards me but Edward caught on to her arm and sat her back down.
"Let me make myself very clear Jessica, I have a restraining order out on you so you aren't even supposed to be here. Then lying about this pregnancy is more trouble for you. So with that being said try some shit and I will ruin you for good. You won't be able to get a job, a loan, hell I will make sure you can't afford a piece of cardboard to sleep on when your ass is on the street. If you think your daddy gives a shit if he disowns you, think again. I've spoken to him and the reason you haven't been disowned is because we were together but now he knows the truth and he is awaiting my call to see if he will put you out and give you nothing." Emmett said his eyes dark and the veins in his neck bulging. Is this the wrong time to be horny right now? Hell yes it is Bella.
"Emmett you can't do this to me." Jessica said crying
"I can and I will." He said, his voice was so dominate and serious. Holy mother of fuck me sideways that is hot.
I watched Mike get up after Carlisle checked him out. He glared at me but my glare directed at him didn't waiver.
"You bitch we could've been something." Mike spat at me and everyone seemed to jump on him at once. Carlisle was moving Esme to sit on his lap, Edward managed to get Rose before she dug her stilettos into Mike's crotch, and Jazz had to pick Alice up and forcefully sit her down. I sat back and watched before I took my turn. Remember thumb in and tighten my fist when you get close to his face I chanted. I waited until I was in front of him when I swung and brought my knee up to his crotch. A look of discomfort masked Mike's face and once again he fell down.
"I have had enough!" Carlisle yelled and scared us all. All eyes were on him.
"Emmett call Steven now, Edward take these two scums to the front. Es baby call Aro and make sure to have him informed of today's events and set up a meeting for Monday in my office." Carlisle said. Everyone did what they were told. He asked me if my hand was fine and got Alice to bring me an ice pack.
"Wait Rose where is Masen?" I asked
"Unfortunately he is with his mother this is her last day here." Rose said and I grunted. I held the ice on my hand until we heard Steven, head of security walk in.
"Carlisle?" Steven asked looking at all of our disheveled looks
"Has Jason arrived?" Carlisle asked and Steven nodded his head.
"Good well those two that are up front with Edward need to be removed from the premises and if they set foot on this property again I want them both in jail." Carlisle said before walking over to Esme in the door and kissed her forehead and walked out. Steven left behind him and we just sat there.
"So you and Emmett huh?" Esme asked with a smirk and I blushed
"Mama C not now." I said laughing
"Mom are we going to eat?" Emmett yelled
"What the hell is wrong with you Emmett? I raised you to use inside voices and you're acting like a wild thing. I swear you get it from your daddy." Esme said shaking her head at him
"Aw come on you know I am your favorite." Emmett whined and pouted
"I think I will claim Edward and Jazz as my favorite for now." Esme said and the shock on Emmett's face made us fall over laughing
"Mooooom but you birthed me not them that's not fair." Emmett whined again and sat down beside me. I slid my fingers through his hair.
"Good boys get kisses baby." I whispered in his ear and his pout turned to a grin
"Oh really?" he asked and turned to face me. I got lost in his eyes and I could only feel his hand on my thigh. His eyes looked from my lips to me and he moved closer. Without thinking I pulled his face to mine and savored the way he tasted. His hands squeezed my thighs before sliding up to my waist. I tugged at his hair and melted at the way he groaned.
"You two are sick." Alice said and I quickly pulled away from Emmett.
"Alice be happy they finally figure out they like each other." Jasper said
"They could get a room, I don't like seeing my two best friends molest one another." Edward said
"I forgot you all were still in here." I said trying to slyly wipe my lips
"It is fine dear these four have done much worse in my presence." She said cutting her eyes at Alice, Jasper, Edward, and Rose.
"At least we didn't decide to get freaky in the kitchen when your kids could've walked in there at any moment and we did." Alice said with a scowl and Esme laughed
"Oh Allycat all you did was learn how you got here. I can't help that daddy still has his moves." Esme said with a wink. Edward, Jasper, and I were the only ones who laughed while the other three cringed.
"Baby my moves are between us you can't share that top secret info with the kids." Carlisle said and we laughed again.
"Dad!" Rose yelled and shook her head.
"I don't think I can eat anymore." Emmett said pretending to throw up
"Oh hush you know as soon as Chef G comes out here to tell us his delicious food is ready you're going to be the first person at the table." Alice said and we agreed with her.
"Well thanks for talking about my delicious food Alice, it is ready by the way, oh and Bella nice punch kid." Chef G said and we all stared at him.
"Aw come on you all didn't think you were quiet and food was ready when Bella punched the blond douche. You know I have no reason to talk so your secret is safe with me." Chef G said with a wink
"Thanks Gabriel." Carlisle said before he walked out. We all went into the dining room
Dinner as always was a lively event and so much fun. I had a light buzz going and knew I had to drive home so I switched to drinking water throughout the night. Edward had walked away with a phone call and said he had to go pick up Masen. The guys offered to leave with him so it was just us ladies.
"Oh Bella I do I have to excuse my son's actions concerning you. Carrying you was absolutely caveman of him and he deserves to be thrown over my knee." Esme said and we sniggered
"I'm sure Bella enjoyed it." Alice said and that ensured another round of laughs and I blushed.
"I'm just glad you're done with Michael he was horrible. Then he had the nerve to cheat on you with that whore. It just pisses me off so much if I could I would chop him into many pieces and feed them to some dogs I would." Esme said and we all we were shocked.
"Fu…Um I mean crap mom you're scary." Rose said
"Don't forget that either." Esme said with a wink
"Bella do tell us what was discussed upstairs to make you two all touchy when you got back downstairs?" Alice asked. I smiled at the memory of me telling me he loves me.
"We still have a lot to talk about but so far we got our feelings out there and that's about it." I said
"You're keeping something from us." Rose said and Esme just smiled and gave me a knowing look.
"Rose it is okay to have secrets you know." Emmett said and made us all jump
"Yeah baby don't harass little Bella." Edward said
"Hey Aunt Bewa" Masen said standing in front of me and I gave him a hug.
"Hey little guy" I replied
"Hey Rosie." He said shyly and Rose smiled down at him and giving him a tight hug.
"Hey bud you want to meet your Aunt Alice and Grandma Esme?" Edward asked him
"Masen this is my mommy Esme for all intents and purposes." Edward said to Masen and Esme smiled at him and Masen gave her a crooked grin
"Hey Grandma." He said softly and Esme picked him up in her arms and squeezed him tightly. When she put him down he was giggling and smiling up at her. Then Alice just picked him up and spun him around causing him to squeal.
"Alice put my son down!" Edward yelled and went to check on him.
"Oh Edward don't be like that, hey little guy I am Aunt Alice, I am way cooler than Bella." Alice said winking at me
"But I like Aunt Bewa she is so nice and pretty. All of you are so pretty." Masen said looking around in awe causing us to laugh.
"And you're very handsome like your daddy, uncles, and grandpa." Esme said ruffling his hair.
"You hungry bud?" Edward asked Masen
"Yes sir. Daddy can I have some juice too please?" he asked and Edward's eyes lit up at being called dad.
"Yea little man come on." He said and took Masen to the kitchen. Everyone was talking and I looked up to find Emmett looking at me. His expression was unreadable and I was nervous. I watched him walk out and followed behind him.
"Hey Em is everything okay?" I asked
"Are you okay? You know after everything that has happened today?" he asked
"I haven't had time to process everything it has been a shock filled day." I said and he agreed
"How do you feel about us?" he asked
"That is another thing I haven't had time to figure out." I said
"I don't want to rush you into anything." He replied and he looked sad.
"No Emmett it isn't that I am saying no to this I just need some time to think. I had these harbored feelings and when I released them they all came at once and it is scary how fast I fell." I said
"I understand. I realized the night with me, you, and Suzie. I felt like this was what I wanted and I want my life with you. I am a man who knows what he wants and what he doesn't and I know for a fact you're the one. I won't lie, I've checked you out before now and then at Christmas time I got to know you better. Staying up late talking in person and on the phone it all meant so much to me. I thought I was foolish for being in love after such a short period of time but I am. I never believed in love at first sight but I feel like it is true." Emmett said and I didn't know what to say
"Em…"
"I am going to give you some time okay and you come to me when you're ready. I love you." He said and kissed my forehead before walking away. I was stunned and I didn't know what I was supposed to do.
I finally pulled myself together but instead of pulling Emmett away to talk to him I gathered my things and left. I said my goodbyes and went home. Could I get anymore stupid, nope Bella Swan you have done it. I wasn't walking away from him I just never had to deal with these kinds of feelings before. I was soon home and crawled in between the sheets and fell into a restless sleep.
I was up at 6:30 cleaning because that is what any sane person who can't sleep does. I was on to my 4th cup of coffee and had 3 more rooms to clean including three bathrooms. I had checked the clock and it was already 7 something and I needed to go to work. I tried finishing as quickly as possible but I was going to be running late regardless. I took a quick shower and blow dried my hair, pulling it up into a high ponytail. I went simple with a high waist pencil skirt and simple white blouse tucked in with a belt. I picked up my fire red shoes and ran out making sure I had everything. I jumped in the BMW and I was off. I may be the boss but I still shouldn't be late. I ran in a said hey to everyone. I sat my things in my office and went down to the coffee shop to get my usual morning breakfast sandwich and chi latté.
"Good morning Ms. Swan." The new kid Nick said
"Nick let try that again just call me Bella." I said with a smile
"Okay good morning Bella. What can I get for you?" He asked
"Dude everyone knows the usual didn't Anna tell you?" Jason asked
"No she kept flirting with me during training that is why I asked for you to train me instead." He said not so quietly to Jason
"Is Anna here?" I asked
"Yes ma'am she is in the back." Jason said
"Mmk send her to me with my usual?" I asked handing him the money and walking away.
"You got it Bella." Jason said and I smiled
Ruth had handed me some mail on my way upstairs and I hadn't realized I had a guest in my office.
"Thanks for forgetting me Baby B." Jacob said and I about fell out of my seat.
"Jake fuck you scared me!" I yelled
"Sorry Bells, what's going on?" He asked
"I should be asking you that, when did you get here?" I asked
"An hour ago, I called your phone but you never answered so I got a cab and went to your place but I was told you had just left so I had to catch another cab and now I am here." Jake said
"Fuck Jake I am sorry I didn't sleep too much last night." I said
"Oh really? Did you have a man in your bed last night?" he asked chuckling and I threw a pen at his face.
"Jake no I just didn't sleep." I said
"Ha Baby B needs so dick in her life." He said laughing loudly
"Jake shut it I have employees that could hear you." I whispered then there was a knock at my door
"Um hey Bella Jason told me to bring you the usual and come see you." Anna said
"Hmm yeah Anna this is Jacob, Jake this is Anna."
"Nice to meet you Anna." Jake said and Anna blushed as she smiled
"Jake go get something from the café and tell Jason it's on me I have some business to handle." I said and Jake grunted as he got up
"So he is hot do you two date?" Anna asked when Jake was gone
"No he is like a brother to me. We aren't here to discuss my life this is about you failing to do your job. You know me I don't mind work being a fun place and everyone getting along well but when you're on the clock that is no time for you to flirt with your fellow co-workers. Do you understand me?" I asked and see looked like she was close to tears was I being harsh or something?
"Yes ma'am please don't fire me, I promise it won't happened again." She pleaded with me
"Anna you're not getting fired just please do your job next time. I asked you to train Nick because you've always done a good job, don't make me regret the decisions I make." I said and she nodded her head.
"I am so soy Bella." Anna said and I walked over and gave her hug
"It's okay now get back to work." I said and she smiled at me before leaving
"Damn baby B you sure know how to handle business." Jake said
"Will you shut up and close the door?" I asked and he did before sitting on my couch
"The food in that café is amazing." He said his mouth full with a sandwich
"You would think Billy and Angel raised you better than the way you act." I said shaking my head at him
"Yeah yeah whatever, where is this heart throb that answered your phone?" Jake asked
"I am sure he is at work." I said looking over some numbers
"You know your eyes are betraying the way you're pretending to feel." Jake said
"Thanks for informing me Jake. Go do something with your life I am trying to work." I said
"Fine but will you be mad if I bring a girl into your home and fuck her senseless then put her out?" Jake asked
"Jacob! Take those boxes over there to Ruth and help her with the stuff. Gosh you're so sick." I said and he fell over laughing
"I love messing with you." Jake said kissing the side of my face and grabbing the boxes. I was left in silence and worked until I had nothing to do. I went to find Jake and he was sitting around talking with Emmett and Ruth. Fuck my life.
"Hello everyone." I said keeping my eyes off of Emmett
"Bells you will not believe this, so I am stacking books when Ruth's granddaughter walks in and is talking to her. Anyway me being me I walk over there and introduce myself to Nicole even though Ruth is definitely into me. So after all that I have a hot date with a hot woman." Jake said trying to high five me and I shook my head at him.
"Ruth you're going to allow him to taint your granddaughter's pure mind?" I asked and she laughed
"I wish that girl was pure, I just hope she doesn't give out on first dates." She said winking at Jake and we laughed loudly.
"Well I have work to do let's go Jacob." Ruth said getting up
"Hello Isabella." Emmett said and I looked up at him through my eyelashes
"Cullen." I said and he smirked
"How are you beautiful?" He asked and I nodded my head trying to hide the smile that he brought to my face.
"I am fine and you?" I asked
"Good, I made reservations for us to have dinner tonight I will pick you up at 7." He said kissing my forehead and walking away.
"Wait what happened to giving me space?" I asked and he turned back towards me
"If you don't want to have dinner that is fine." He said a little dejected
"I um just thought…" I trailed off
"Forget I said anything." He said walking away and once again I felt stupid.
"You know Ruth I thought Bella was smarter than that." I heard Jake say and they were both smiling at me but talking like I wasn't there.
"She is smart but sometimes a bit slow." Ruth replied
"It is very obvious he wants all of her yet she keeps pushing him away, I know that feeling but I managed to move on." Jake responded and I rolled my eyes at him
"Aw Jake you know I will take you since Bella won't." Ruth said kissing his cheek and laughed.
"Thanks for talking like I wasn't here. I'm leaving so unless you're leaving with me ask your sugar mama to bring you to my place." I said walking up to my office and I soon heard Jake coming.
"Bells why did you not want to go to dinner with Emmett he seems cool." Jake said
"Jake, please don't." I said and grabbed my things. I saw him pick up his many bags.
"How long are you staying?" I asked
"I don't know Bells I just need to get away for a while." He said and I closed the office door and locked up. When we got back to the car I resumed our conversation.
"I thought you were out." I said more of a statement instead of the question I was going to ask
"Bells we both know he isn't just going to let me out but he understands I am on a vacation of sorts." He said
"Fuck Jake you're not on a damn vacation you probably finished a risky job that took a toile on you and had to stop for a while to regain your composure." I said and Jake grunted
"Bella this fucker deserved everything he had coming to him and I don't regret it at all. Can we just drop it Baby B I want this to be enjoyable and not have you fear for my life, please." He pleaded with me
"Fine it is only because I love you." I said and he patted my head and I slapped it away.
"I want you to go out with Emmett tonight." Jake said after a brief silence.
"I seem to only fuck up so I don't want to put myself in that boat." I said
"Why are you avoiding him? I am sure I wouldn't like him but he seems like a cool guy and he has my stamp of approval." Jake said and I bit at my lip as we pulled into the parking garage.
"You don't understand." I said looking over at him
"Oh I do understand little Bella is helplessly in love and this is the first time these feelings are genuine and you're scared as hell. I am not some idiot Bella, I know you well enough to know you're running from something you should be facing." Jake said and got out the car.
I sat there feeling like shit because I was running from my feelings. It is hard to trust after dating shitty guys then giving your virginity to the shittiest of shitty guys, fuck Mike. I can't let him ruin this for me.
