Chapter Nine

Shego's fist glowed with energy as it flew through the air. Snowflakes melted inches away from it due to the intense heat. A scream escaped her mouth as she slammed her fist into Gill's face. The impact of the strike sent him bouncing back.

He bounced across the snowy ground and slammed through the chain link fence. He finally came to a stop in the middle of the road. Letting out a deep growl he stood up slowly. His attention turned back to see Shego walking towards him. His clawed hand shot out and grabbed a police car nearby.

Gunfire was heard and bullets bounced harmlessly off of him. He looked to see a lone SWAT member firing at him. With a thunderous roar he brought the car down on the man's head. The man screamed out as he was crushed by the vehicle. Turning the mutant focused his red eyes on Shego. Throwing the car at her he roared out.

Seeing it Shego punched her fist out. The solid beam of plasma raced forward and blasted into the side of the car. As a result it exploded into a fireball. Her hair was blown back as it shot up into the sky. Suddenly Gill came flying through the smoke cloud at her.

Her body was in motion jumping back, narrowly avoiding his fist. It slammed into the ground, punching a hole into the asphalt. However Gill's right hand quickly backhanded her. The impact made her cry out as she was sent flying back.

She flew through the air, crashing through the bay windows of a store. Crashing into some displays she came to a stop. Slowly she rolled over shaking her head to clear her vision. Suddenly the roof collapsed and she dodged out of the way. Spinning around she looked to see Gill's hulking figure standing in the dust cloud.

"You know, this is a fight of mutants" he said stating a fact as he advanced towards her.

"No, this is a fight to stop a murderer who works for a mad man" she shot back as she jumped up onto a counter.

Her plasma burned brightly as she jumped from the counter. With a scream her fist cocked back. It flew forward, slamming into his lower jaw. The blow caused him to stagger backwards. Acting quickly she jumped up and kicked him back sending him out into the street once more.

Running forward Shego jumped through the shattered window. Doing a roll across the ground she delivered an uppercut to his jaw. It sent him flying back and slamming into a parked car. She stood there looking at him as a wind blew by kicking up loose snow. Walking forward her plasma began to form into balls in her hands.

Suddenly a spotlight hit her causing her to spin around quickly. Her fist were up ready to fight. However the helicopter hovering over her was a news chopper. Letting out a sigh she turned back to Gill. She turned right into his fist. The punch sent her flying through the air.

She traveled over three blocks away from where she was. She crashed down onto the roof of a car blowing our the windows. She groaned in pain, sure that some of her ribs were broken. Blood trickled from her nose and lips.

Suddenly Gill landed on the nose of the car. Him landing there caused the body of the car to lift up. That in turn made Shego start to fly through the air. However Gill's hand shot up and grabbed her by her leg.

In a flash he started to slam her back into the body of the car. She cried out in pain as more of her ribs started to break. He stopped and lifted her up to be looking her in the eyes.

"Good thing you got that kiss in. Today is the day you die" he growled at her.

Through hazy vision she watched as his throat started to bulge. She knew what it meant. Summing what energy she could her plasma came to life. His mouth opened as he prepared to spit acid on her. With a scream her hands shot up. Two solid beams of plasma slammed into his open mouth.

It filled his mouth and caused him to drop her. He screamed out in pain as his clawed hands came up and scraped at his face. Slowly getting to her feet she looked at him as smoke encompassed his head.

"You'll pay for that" he growled as the pain went away.

"We'll see" she retorted casting her trademark smirk at him. She looked at his face to see it was burnt from her attack. Some of the flesh was black in color. He growled at her before shooting forward.

She dodged to the left avoiding his fist. His long black hair swirled around his face. He turned to look at her as he let out a loud roar. His throat bulged and he spat acid at her. He growled in frustration as she dodged it. Spinning around he lunged at her.

Lunging forward Shego brought her plasma covered fist up. She slammed it into his gut causing him to double over gasping in pain. However her attack wasn't finished. The plasma charged and a solid beam fired into his gut blowing him back. It sent him crashing into a tanker truck. Gas began to spill out around him. Her lips tugged into a smile as he slowly got up.

"Survive this" she said as she threw a ball of plasma at him.

His eyes shot wide as it flew past his head. Turning he looked to see it hit the side of the truck near the dent his body had left behind. The gas caught fire sending a fireball racing for him. Before he could react he was engulfed by the ball.

Shego was thrown back as the shockwave hit her. She slammed into a parked car knocking her to the ground. Coughing a bit she reached to to wipe the blood off her chin. Slowly getting back to her feet she sighed knowing she had defeated the mutant. However her victory was short lived.

Metal shifted causing her to slowly turn around. Looking back she watched as the burning metal shifted again. Suddenly it was thrown away causing her to step back. Shock moved across her face as a burned and wounded Gill stepped out of the flames.

"Where were we?" He questioned with a growl as blood dripped off of his chin. He prepared to charge her but just as he did a blue laser beam slammed into his chest sending him crashing into a wall. With a snarl he looked up to see a hovercraft descending towards him.

"Time for you to pay like seriously" he heard a man yell at him. To his surprise Motor Ed and Drakken were in it.

Smirking he focused on the blue skinned man. Reaching over he gripped onto a burning piece of metal. With a roar he threw it at the hovering vehicle. Smiling he watched as it impacted the craft. It then caused it to spin wildly out of control. The vehicle crashed into the street and slowly he stood up.

Drakken coughed as he staggered over to his cousin. He pulled Ed out of the wreckage. That in turn caused him to roar out in pain. Drakken apologized for the pain he had caused the biker. Suddenly thunderous steps sounded behind him making him turn around. Looking up he looked to see Gill towering over him.

"Dementor sends his regards" he growled raising his clawed hand up.

He roared out in pain as plasma shot up his back. Turning around he looked to see Shego standing there. He turned to face her, wanting to be rid of her once and for all. With a roar he charged her as she stood there. His clawed hands went out, with hopes to rip her apart. Suddenly she jumped up over him and she threw a plasma ball past him.

"You missed you dumb ass bitch" he snarled looking back to her.

"Wasn't aiming at you" she responded with a smirk as she stepped onto a tire.

Looking at her he slowly turned to look back. Just as he did a fire hydrant exploded. He was showered in the freezing water. However he started laughing as the water helped to speed his healing up. "Water? That's my fucking..." He started laughing as he turned to Shego. However he quickly stopped when he saw her.

In her hands was a live power wire. It continued to spark as electricity tried to move through it. He saw she was on a tire meaning she was grounded. Before he could move she threw it at his feet. With the current restored it shot up through his body. His muscles seized up as his body went stiff. Soon his eyes closed at the power was shut off. He tumbled backwards onto the ground unconscious.

Her green eyes looked at him as he slowly transformed back into a man. Smiling, she stared down at the unconscious mutant. Her energy started to plummet, the strain of the fight catching up with her. Falling to her knees she breathed lightly as she stared at Gill. "Got you fucker" she said weakly before passing out.

Two Days Later.

Kim stood in her house, dressing herself in a black dress. She groaned as her side protested the movement. Stitches were in her side from the injury she had received from her fight with Gill. She was glad Shego had caught the mutant. Deep down she hoped he'd get executed for all he did.

After he had wounded her and Shego went to fight him they had been picked up by Drakken. The man had flown them to the hospital. Once there she watched the fight on the news. When she saw Shego defeat the mutant she felt relieved. However it wouldn't bring her father back.

Looking at herself in the mirror she looked at her reflection. There was a massive bruise on her cheek. Her right eye was black and slightly swollen.

With a sigh she walked out of her bedroom. She looked to see Bonnie cleaning some dishes. Turning to the left she saw Shego getting up slowly from the chair. Even though she healed remarkably fast her body was still sore. Moving over to her side she helped her up.

"Thanks Cupcake" Shego grunted as she turned with Kim to look at Bonnie.

"Bonnie, time to go" Kim said, tears starting to form in her eyes.

Bonnie nodded and dried her hands off. Turning the brunette walked over and the three exited the house together. They walked down to Kim's car and got in. They drove down the road towards a church. Once they got there they were met by a weeping Anne Possible. Kim's brothers were there too. Both looked sad as they tried to comfort their mother.

In a few minutes Ron and Yori had shown up followed by Drakken. Even the blue skinned man had attended. His history with James being the only reason he was attending the funeral for the rocket scientist. After an hour the church was filled with friends and coworkers. People who had all been affected by James one way or another.

Kim sat there, listening to the preacher as he spoke about her father. Her head was tipped down, but she refused to close her eyes. Every time she did she would see her father's death. Tears flowed from her eyes as she continued to stare at the floor. Tears dripped from her eyes onto her dress shoes. She had failed to save her father in her mind. He was dead because of her.

A hand reached over and took a hold of hers. Looking at the green colored hand she smiled a bit. Slowly looking to her left she looked at Shego. The raven haired woman looked at her. Slowly she turned her head into Shego's shoulder and sobbed softly. The green skinned woman just gently stroked her head. A lone tear streak from her own eye at the memory.

Hours had passed and with it the funeral had ended. Kim, Shego,and Bonnie along with Ron and Yori returned back to Kim's house. Walking in all hung their heads, they each were saddened by the death. Bonnie's own memories of watching Junior die haunting her. She parted from the group, moving up to her room. Ron and Yori looked to Kim and Shego who sat on the couch.

"So, um before we took Kim away you kissed her" Ron ventured causing both Kim and Shego to glance at one another.

"Yes, it is very confusing for us" Yori said looking at them.

Slowly Kim sighed and sat forward. She looked back to Shego who was rested in the corner of the couch. She looked back to Kim's friends and sighed herself.

"I have feelings for Kim, I have for some time" she said making Ron's eyes shoot wide while Yori tipped her head down in thought. Kim just looked back at her, her own eyes wide. "Oh come on cupcake you should have figured it out" she said with a shrug.

"Well yeah, just never thought you'd actually admit it" the redhead said before looking back to Ron and Yori.

"Well, what about you?" Yori asked looking at Kim making her look to her.

"Yeah Kim, do you feel the same?" Ron asked slightly, his attention turning to his hands.

Kim looked at both of them before lowering her head. Her hands started to rub together out of fear. Slowly she looked to Shego who was looking at her. "I... I don't know, I'm confused about it" Kim admitted looking at the thief.

"It's okay princess, it took me some time to figure it out too" Shego said looking at her.

The redhead looked away from Shego, slightly ashamed. She felt like she was leading her on. Turning she looked to Ron who was sighing a bit. He looked back at her, his hand running through his hair.

"Ron, I'm sorry, if you were devolving feelings for me again. I didn't mean to throw that in your face" she said her head tipping down emotions overwhelming her.

"Kim, we've been best friends forever. I would support you no matter what. The part of our life when we dated is over. It's a new chapter now. Besides..." He explained before looking over to Yori. His hand went over and took her in his. "I'm in love with someone else" he said smiling at Yori who smiled a bit.

Kim smiled looking at them as they kissed. She looked over to Shego and smiled slightly at her. Just then a knock came from front door. She looked at it and got up. Walking over she opened the door and looked to see Betty Director looking at her.

"Kim, my condolences for your fathers death" the one eyed woman said taking a step into her house. She looked at everyone before looking back to Kim.

"Thank you Director, something wrong?" The hero asked moving back to the couch.

"We're going to interrogate Gill, we want you four present" Betty said.

Kim looked from Betty to the others. They were looking between each other considering the offer. Shego stood up making everyone look at her. "We'll be there" she answered for everyone.

Temporary GJ headquarters, Richmond Virginia, two hours later.

Gill sat in a room, a light shining down on him. He looked at the water pitcher before him and the ashtray. His attention turned to the cuffs on his wrist. Looking to his ankles he looked at the other set of cuffs. He smiled a bit, knowing full well these cuffs were meant for someone else.

His nose twitched as a familiar scent drifted through the air. Looking up to the one way mirror he smiled. "Hey Betty, why don't you tell Shego who these cuffs are meant for" he called with a smirk.

On the other side of the glass Betty stood there. Her arms were crossed as she stared at the mutant.

"Betty, what does he mean?" Shego asked causing the leader to turn and look at her.

"GJ sees the world for what it is. You chose a life of crime, we feared your brothers might choose that path. We had the cuffs made, the ones on his wrist are meant to negate Hego's strength. The ones on his ankles are meant to keep Mego from growing" Betty explained looking from her back to the mutant who was in the chair.

Suddenly Shego grabbed her and spun her around. She slammed her up against the wall. "You fucking made them because of me?" She yelled at Betty getting into her face. "I made that choice because that's me don't fucking lump my brothers into that" she screamed.

"My job is to protect the world. Five super powered freaks running around. I have to monitor all your movements. The second your brothers step out of line we will take them down" Betty snarled back.

"Enough" Kim screamed pulling both women apart. "We're here to find Dementor, not turn on each other" she said stepping between them. She looked at Shego and then to Betty both glaring at one another.

"This isn't over" Betty hissed at Shego.

"You can fucking count on it" Shego shot back before turning away from her.

Betty turned to the door and opened it. Walking in she looked down at Gill who was smirking at her. She saw in his eyes he knew what had happened. Taking a seat across from him he smiled more.

"So, you've come a long way from being the creature of the black lagoon" she said, her face showing no emotions.

Chuckling a bit he sat forward. "I haven't heard that in a long fucking time" he said as he reached to a pack of cigarettes. Taking one out he looked to Betty as she reached across and lit it.

"Your boss has killed a lot of people. What is he planning?" She asked watching him exhale the cigarette smoke.

"Don't know, he's only knows the plan. However let's skip all this shit and get right to the point" he responded flicking some ash into the ashtray.

"Okay, where is Dementor?" She questioned looking at him.

"Hell if I know, I don't deal directly with him" Gill said with an arrogant smirk.

"God damn it Gilbert, quit fucking around" Betty screamed slamming her open palm on the table. Her face was red with anger and her one good eye gleamed.

"No one calls me Gilbert" he hissed before leaning forward. "I'll take your head for that" he growled exhaling the smoke through his nose. "The boss' plan is going perfectly. Soon I'll have your head" he said with a low growl as he got into her face.

"Was getting caught part of your plan?" She asked looking at him.

Taking a final drag on his cigarette he crushed it out. A smile appeared on his face as the smoke escaped through his nose. "But of course" he said with a deep smile.

Suddenly alarms started blaring making her sit back. She looked up at the alarms before looking back to Gill. He started laughing, it turned into a deep thunderous laugh. Suddenly the door flew open making Betty spin around.

"Betty the building is under attack" Kim said making Betty spin around to face Gill.

"GJ's final hours are upon us" he said laughing.
