This is unexpected

chapter 10

(Sonic POV)

I was holding onto Scathe's shoulders as all of us were heading back to base after the ordeal we just had with Fiona's duplicate.

I must have been thinking way too much as I felt us stop moving and got off the bike with Scathe following.

"Alright, since you'll be staying here, you'll be bunking with me." replied Scathe heading over to the main building.

"Okay...wait, what?!" I yelled in shock.

"I need to make sure I can keep an eye on you." replied Scathe not looking back and seeing my shocked look. "If you want to complain, then you can sleep outside."

I let out a tired sigh and just shook my head. "Alright alright." I relented as Scathe was satisfied before heading inside. Seeing how I had some time before the day was over, I might as well get familiar with the place.

I went off on my own in the village and noticed all the kinds of differences between this and my home. It was similar to Knothole, but it looked like something a biker gang would call home. I saw different buildings a little banged up and even boarded up around the windows. I also took note of the stares I got from the residents who each looked ready for a fight.

I passed by an alleyway where someone grabbed my arm and pulled me inside the dark area. I was about to show them my fist, but stopped when I saw it was Rosy holding a finger to her lips.

"Shh, no need to be so loud~!" sang Rosy with a grin.

"What do you want?" I asked with cautiousness in my voice.

I was expecting a wacky response from her or see her try and smash me, but I was confused to see her instead rock back and forth on her heels while looking away with her hands behind her back.

"Rosy wanted to thank you for saving Rosy's life." replied Rosy not looking him in the eyes.

I was surprised to see Amy's crazy counterpart look nervous in front of me while also saying thanks.

"No problem. I just did what I could." I replied.

"Well, Rosy would like to repay you by showing you the village." smiled Rosy with that familiar grin of hers before grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the alleyway.

The residents gave us weird looks as Rosy pulled me along with a large smile on her face. "Over there is the crooked bone, Bun Buns likes to go there." pointed out Rosy to a bar where I saw a few mobians get thrown out onto the road. Seemed like a rough place to be.

"Over there is where people like to race." Rosy pointed at a dirt road that twisted around a large piece of land and where mobians could be seen driving around on dirt bikes and ATVs.

"And over there is where everyone likes to fight." grinned Rosy as she pulled me towards what seemed like a steel fence area where a crowd was cheering for two mobians who were fighting in a sand pit. There were also various pieces of weaponry that lined the walls for the fighters to use at any given moment.

I flinched at seeing one of them throw sand in the others eyes and proceed to hit him with a pipe on the back, causing him to fall down. "Doesn't this seem kinda brutal?"

"We fight anyway possible, as long as we survive. Here, people do what they need to to survive." replied Rosy with a grin. "It's how things go."

"But isn't Scathe the leader? Doesn't she pass any laws?" I asked.

"She does from time to time, but the main rule is that we do what's necessary to survive. Not all of them are as strong as the main Suppression Squad, so they need some help from time to time." replied Rosy pulling me away from the area.

That boggled my mind. From the sounds of it, they weren't be rude or mean cause they wanted to, but because they did what they felt was needed to survive. But it still didn't make sense cause if they had all this land, why didn't they try to make a more stable system?

I was pulled out of my thoughts from seeing Rosy stop at the main castle where Scathe and the others slept at. "Well, that's all Rosy can show for now, but call Rosy up and we can have even more fun walks." grinned Rosy who skipped along.

I was a little creeped out by her grin and cheerful attitude despite how she was in battle, but I found it kinda nice to see someone who didn't want to have me killed.

I headed up the steps while wondering what was gonna happen next.

I soon made my way inside, which was more clean than I thought and began to make my way towards the center of the place, which is where I heard voices. I stuck close to the wall while slowly getting closer to make out who the voices belonged to.

"-and I say you're still crazy." that seemed to come from Patch as I stopped near the corner and saw the Suppression Squad stationed around a table.

"Did you forget who runs things?" asked Scathe cracking her knuckles.

"No, but I am curious to know why you want him to stay here. All we need to do is keep him in one place, and no one will miss him."

"And I say keeping him around can work. With his speed rivaling mine, he can make use even stronger. He'll learn how things work around here, and we get some more muscle." replied Scathe satisfied with her reason.

"I still say we need to keep an eye on him." replied Patch crossing his arms.

"Alright, if it makes you stop crying, I'll have someone keep an eye on him to make sure he stays in line. Any volunteers?" asked Scathe.

"Not me, I need to finish up my latest project." replied Boomer.

"Count me out." replied Patch who couldn't stand to be near the hedgehog.

"I would, but I need to look over the newest training schedule for the newest recruits." replied Miles.

"I'll take up that offer." smiled Buns.

Scathe frowned at Buns. "Forget it Buns. I heard about your little incident earlier."

Buns pouted and crossed her arms. Scathe must have heard from one of the others.

"Since Alicia isn't here, how about you Fiona?" Scathe turned to Fiona who had been staring off into sky, which peaked my interest.

"Alright." replied Fiona standing up.

"Great. Now unless you have anything else to complain about, this meeting's over." replied Scathe walking over to her throne and propping her boots on the side while the others dispersed, which I took as the chance to get out of there before they spot me.

I managed to race out of there and made it look like it was leaning against the front door and waited til Fiona stepped out as she noticed me.

"Alright, listen. I've been ordered to keep an eye on you until you can be trusted. Try anything and you know the drill." warned Fiona slipping an ankle bracelet on me.

"Yeah yeah." I replied walking ahead of her as she followed. "So since apparently you're in charge here, what do you want to do?" I asked figuring I need to let them have their way.

"Actually, I'd like to tell you something. Follow me." replied Fiona taking the lead as I followed her and saw she was walking towards the forest. Hopefully this didn't end up with me dead.

(Scathe POV)

I huffed as I sat on my throne and thought back on my decision for Fiona to keep an eye on that hedgehog. Out of my best fighters, I knew I could trust Fiona for this assignment. I wasn't that surprised when I saw Buns wanted to watch him, but I wasn't taking the chance of her to seduce the blueboy. But I did notice something else. I actually felt angry that she was eager to watch him. That sounded odd of me to worry about a prisoner, even if he did look a little cute.

"What the heck is going on with me?" I asked as things were getting confusing with that hedgehog around here.

(Tail POV)

I was currently trying to keep my breath calm as I was sitting in a meditation pose while in my room. After getting back from the meeting, Storm had showed me a meditation method to keep my body calm and focus, and it was definitely working.

Auto-Fiona stood as still as a statue next to my door encase I needed her. After we got back, I also took the time to fix her up, covering the exposed mechanics with new artificial fur and making sure she was as good as new.

My earts perked up as I saw Auto-Fiona seemingly sense something.

"What is it?" I asked standing up.

"Someone is here." she stated as a figure began to materialize from out of nowhere in front of us. She amazingly looked just like Iron Nicole, but she probably wasn't the same from what me and Sonic have learned.

"Your servant is very perceptive." replied Iron Nicole.

"That she is." I replied with a little bit of pride. She was definitely impressive that's for sure. "Now, can I ask why you're here?"

"I am merely here to keep watch over you for a certain period of time." she replied with a straight face.

I sighed as I should have seen this coming. Now that Iron Nicole would be keeping tabs on me, it would be crazy of me to try and form an escape plan.

"I couldn't help but notice your handy work on your servant. Impressive." remarked Nicole with a smile.

I grinned and rubbed my cheek at the praise.

"I will be keeping an eye on you, but please go about your day as you would normally." replied Nicole as she dispersed from the room.

I sighed as Auto-Fiona walked over. "Is there anything you need, master?"

"No, not right now." I replied as I went back to my meditation while Auto-Fiona stayed at her place to wait for an order.

(Alicia POV)

I grinned at seeing some of the mobians nearby stare at me and my double with confusion. Now was the perfect chance to learn what happened.

While her back was turned towards me, I walked up and put a hand on her shoulder which got her attention. She turned and whirled around with a ready stance.

"Alicia! What are you doing here?" she asked as her body tensed up, ready for any sudden actions.

"That is my name, but I'm not the same one you probably know." I replied with a smirk.

"Ive heard of better lies than that. Now answer me!" she demanded. Alright, if she wants to play that game, so can I. My hand went to my hip where my whip was located and grabbed it.

Now more mobians were surrounding us as Sally and me were drawing up quite the attention.

"Let's talk." I grinned as she charged at me and I followed. I was gonna get answers.
