Kat Smith - I hold grudges too! But poor Edward's been trying and that one gesture was very sweet! So...ok, I'm soft for the Edward I wrote. Oh love, I hope your foot is better now, it's been almost a month? I am wondering if I should post my bts fics on Wattpad (The link is already in my bio) or if I should make another account on AO3? What are your thoughts? Give my love to the pups -muah-

I woke up to the feel of soft trails of fingertips along the expanse of my back, dipping into the curve of my waist and back again. For a whole minute, I continued to enjoy the soothing sensation, groggy and unknowing where I was. Stretching out my legs underneath and feeling my bare skin rubbing against each other, I finally felt the remnants of consciousness flood my senses.

Turning over to peek over my shoulder, I saw Edward lying beside me, a soft smile playing around his plump lips as he mapped my body. His gaze was so full of adoration, it made me blush. The smile widened when he met my gaze.

"Good morning," he said voice light.

"Hey," I said equally light, scooting closer to him and pulling the blanket he'd draped over me tighter around my body.

"How do you feel?"

I paused a bit, taking a mental check of my body before smiling up at him. "I'm amazing," I said.

Edward smirked, wrapping an arm around my back as he pulled me into a sweet kiss.

He turned onto his back before pulling me into his arm nook.

"Are you hurting or sore anywhere?" he asked.

"No, I'm just a little stiff, but that's just the sleep." I said, softly reassuring him and he nodded thoughtfully.

"I wanted to have some breakfast made for you when you woke up but I just looked at you and could not find it in me to leave the bed. I suppose I can understand your twilight Edward's fascination of watching people sleep." He mumbled.

I groaned loudly. "Please don't," I said, hiding my face in the curve of his shoulder and he laughed.

"Sorry, I'm just saying, you have bed hair and your skin is creased yet you are one of the most beautiful things I've seen in the world. Looking at you with all of the humanness is refreshing."

I managed to peer up at him despite the flush. "I hate you." I grumbled but he only smiled.

"Well, let's see if I can change that. Why don't you go back to sleep and I will get that breakfast in bed?" he asked.

I pouted, not wanting to let him break his warm embrace and leave the bed but the way my stomach had seemed to cave in on itself made my decision. I retracted my arms from his neck and slid back to my own spot, dragging the blankets up to my chin and watching Edward move out of the bed blearily.

Edward wound the sheets from the foot of the bed around his waist, holding it closed in a fist as he walked to the bathroom, closing it after him.

I must've dozed off because when I woke up again to the smell of scrambled eggs, sausages and something sugary, he was completely dressed in a simple grey loose t-shirt and light blue jogging tracks.

The snort that flew out of my mouth made him look up from where he was plating up. "Edward Cullen in jogging tracks?" I asked in answer to the puzzled smile.

"I'm allowed to dress down on occasion." He shrugged before picking up the breakfast tray and setting it on the bed. He picked something up from the end of the bed and tossed it to me. It was the shirt he had worn the night before and I slipped it over my head, my head poking out to see him watching me with a smirk on his face.

"I can finally say I have seen you in my clothes for a very different reason," he began but I shook my head, stopping the suggestive comment in its headway.

"This looks great, thank you." I said instead and he leant in to steal a kiss before stealing a bite of scrambled eggs.

"I hope the talk we had was enough for us." He said as I finally bit into my food. I looked at him quickly.

"It was." I reached out with my free hand to grip his tightly. "I promise." I insisted.

Edward examined my face for a split second – like the time we had done the microscopes – before he was smiling again. "That's good enough for me. You should finish the food; I need to call Carlisle and then we'll go home if you want. I know Charlie's going to be back soon and I don't want him to be on my case just as soon as I had you. I'd like to still be able to come around." He said.

I nodded, watching him fish out his phone when I opened my mouth.

"He said to be responsible and I'm pretty sure bringing me to Chicago where we slept together was not on that list." I said lightly.

He paused in the middle of dialing and grimaced at me before walking out the door, not seeing me giggle into my hand.

My hair blew over my face as Edward drove me back to my place, with plenty of time to spare so I could also easily receive Charlie.

Sleeping with Edward had definitely changed our dynamics a whole lot. He was more content looking, holding my hand a lot more, kissing me more wherever he could reach and he even touchier.

He pulled me into a make out session that lasted long till we were both inside and tangled on the couch. His lips, hot and plush moved across my neck, leaving tiny pecks as he slowed down. Pulling my leg to wrap around his waist, he laid me down gently onto my back as he hovered over me, lips returning to mine as he turned the hot kisses to a more controlled and sweeter track when we heard the key turn in the lock.

Edward and I both looked up quickly before I was pushing at Edward's chest to sit up, panicked.

Edward moved away just as Charlie rounded the corner, eyes falling on me just as I sat up, red faced and mussed up. He glanced at Edward with a quirked eyebrow but with all his speed and agility, my boyfriend had migrated to the other chair, the picture of innocence even if his hair was a bit messed up too.

"Hello Charlie, it's nice to see you. It's been a while." He said politely, a small smile hovering on his angelic face that neither Charlie nor I bought but he didn't comment.

"Hey Edward, nice to see you too, how you been?" he asked, dropping his fishing box and undoing the raincoat.

"Never better," Edward shot me a grin before he was standing up quickly, too quickly. "I should go home now. Esme's probably worried." He said and Charlie nodded too.

"We should watch a game soon. It's always fun when you compare them to games in the past. T's ok, but she doesn't know stuff like that." He said.

"I agree. We'll pick a date during the next league." Edward zipped up his jacket.

"Wow, I'm offended." I said, gasping at the two men but quietly followed Edward to the door to see him out.

I thought you could read mind! I mentally scolded him.

"I was a bit preoccupied, if you hadn't noticed." He muttered.

"Still, he could've picked up on it." I argued.

"On what…?"

"About us,"

"He couldn't have done that." Edward sighed.

"He's a cop, Edward. He's trained," I began but he swooped in to place a kiss on my lips, effectively cutting me off.

"I'll come over tonight to finish what I started." He promised, murmuring against my lips and I sighed as he pulled away, watching him jog to his car and get in, looking at me one last time as he drove off.

I stared at the spot where his car had been parked behind the truck that Alice had brought back for a few minutes before closing the door, and getting greeted by Charlie's figure leaning against the living room archway.

"I take it you two talked." He said.

"Yep," I said, sliding my hands in my back pocket.

"And…?" Charlie prodded.

I smirked. "My, my, you do gossip like one of the women here, Chief." I teased but he scoffed.

"Come on, T, I'm your dad here. I should know these things."

"Yeah, things are great." I said softly smiling and Charlie narrowed his eyes, studying me for a bit before smiling himself. "I'm glad you guys sorted it out, kiddo." He said softly.

I smiled back when I jumped at the loud knocking on the door.

For a second Charlie and I stared at the door.

"It must be him back." Charlie said, retiring back into the living room and I quickly went to the doorway, undoing the bolts again.

Why was he back so soon? Surely nothing could be wrong?

Even as I opened the door I knew it wasn't Edward.

The figure in the door was a bit taller, lankier and decidedly not a vampire.

Deep sunken eyes looked up at me as bony fingers latched feverishly onto the door frame. I gaped at the man as he hunched over onto himself, looking half dazed and half crazy.

"Tulika," Roosevelt Sorenson, leaned into the entrance and I immediately gripped onto his shoulders supporting his diminished weight but even that wasn't enough as he crash landed right into the foyer.

There was a split second pause before,

"CHARLIE!"

Hehe,who saw that coming?

See you next chapter!
