Those twelve hours were the most tedious and nerve racking hours of Asami's entire life, not even having Van was this stressful. Kilee smiled "she is alright dear, the operation was a complete success, but we needed to add a special future to make sure the crack in her temple wouldn't widen over time, so we surgically implanted a platinum plate to protect from further damage, the bone was shaved down and is no longer a danger, she is sleeping right now, and it is probably better to let her wake up on her own, the surgery took a lot out of her." Kilee said ushering her exhausted husband upstairs to bed. "dr. Jong!" Asami said before he could leave the room, he stopped short and looked at her "I can't thank you enough for what you have done." She said with tears in her eyes, and shaking his hand vigorously.
"it is no problem Miss. Sato, the avatar is a very lucky lady to have someone who loves her so, now I mean now disrespect but I am very tired now and would like to rest, my wife will see you out." Kilee turned to Asami, "you can go see her, while I get some people to help transport her to the Su's, she will need to be kept comfortable for the next week, she should wake up in the next day or two, when she does, she is going to have a massive headache, if the headache doesn't dissipate in twenty-four hours bring her back here right away, when the ache dissipates and after about a week she can walk around some. Be sure that she does not get up to fast, nor sits down to quickly. Also by that point she will need a follow up appointment so we can see how she is doing… here are some prescriptions for the headaches and pain." She handed a sack of herds and powder to her. She went into the now dim lit room, it glowed blue from the water in the healing tub. She took a moment for her eyes to adjust and heard steady breathing somewhere in the room. It took about thirty minutes to get back to the palace, Korra was placed in a comfortable room and was sleeping soundly. After making sure her lover was comfortable, she left the room to find Su and Van. she remembered the halls and pathways to every room so she knew her way around. After about a minute of just watching their son fall into dream land, Asami moved him to the small portable crib in the room just to the left of the bed. "He is so cute… Asami?" Korra said softly so as not to wake the little one sleeping. Asami sat back on the bed after tucking Van in, "yea baby?" Asami said pulling the covers over top of her and smiling at Korra. "I'm a so sorry." Korra said pulling the covers over herself as well. "What do you mean baby?" Asami said caressing Korra's cheek softly. "That I wasn't there for you while you were pregnant with Van, holding your hand through his birth, I honestly would do anything to go back before I let for Ba Sing Se so I could be there, I would give anything to be the one to go out at ungodly hour to go get you fire flakes or something." Korra said sadly and somewhat humorously.
"Baby you couldn't help not being there, you didn't remember, that's not your fault. I don't blame you at all Korra." Asami said kissing Korra deep on the lips. " if we have another baby I am never leaving your side, all the cravings, all the mood swings, all the aches and pains, I will be there for no matter what." Korra promised seriously. Asami smiled sweetly "I believe you love. Come on lets get some sleep before Van decides he wants to wake up." Asami said kissing Korra again then turning on her side pulling Korra hand over so she could be pulled close to the master bender.
"Goodnight Sami." Korra whispered kissing her shoulder.
"Night my love" Asami said back falling into a deep sleep.
