Part 10 (Back at House's apartment)

Done for the day, Cuddy went back to she and Vayne's place and got ready to go see House. Once there, she knocked on the door. No one answered. Cuddy knocked again, this time a little harder. "House?" she called out loudly. Finally she banged on the door with all of her might. The door flew open and there House stood with nothing on but boxers and had music playing on his ipod with earbuds in. "Yeeees?" he asked her. Cuddy sighed. "House, I didn't know if you were okay or not." House said "Splendid. Of course, when you have earbuds in your ears, you tend to not hear a light tapping sound on the door. Care to come in?" Cuddy nodded and he let her in.

Cuddy looked around and looked around, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. "Where is it?" she asked. House smirked and said "Where I always have it." He pointed at his crotch. Cuddy rolled her eyes. "I MEANT, the medication." House shook his head and sounding honestly "There ain't no medicine here. Just the usual vicodin everywhere." Cuddy nodded and said "I can…see that."

What Cuddy didn't know was that House had taken methadone. A higher stronger pain pill that was used for many purposes, except the one that House was trying to accomplish: a higher stronger high of a feeling that vicodin didn't give him. Cuddy looked on at him, strangely, as he was picking on stuff on his boxers that weren't there. She KNEW there was a script of methadone somewhere, but couldn't figure out where. That's when she said to him "House, I'm heading out to make a phone call. Are you going to be alright?" House didn't answer and she didn't wait for an answer, as she headed out the door. She quickly dialed Foreman. He picked up on the first ring. "Yea, Cuddy?" he asked. She responded back, saying "I …think House is taking methadone, but I can't quite confirm it. Mind coming over to his apartment to see?" He said "I'm on my way."

She waited outside for Foreman, giving that the hospital was only a few minutes away from House's apartment. She met him at the door and allowed herself to come back in, with Foreman in tow. Foreman had an oxygen mask with him, in case House needed it and was in fact taking methadone. House was sitting on the couch, in his boxers, asleep with the earbuds in his ear. In a snarky way, Foreman said "Looks like he's fine to me. Just taking a nap." Cuddy nodded in an unconvincing way. She went over and took an earbud out of one of House's ears. "House?" she shouted into his ear. He didn't budge. Foreman said "You need reinforcement." He went over and squeezed House's exposed nipples, causing House to wake up immediately.

He looked over at Foreman. "I didn't know you were that way," House said to him, rubbing his now sore nipples and he was panting hard. Cuddy went over and went to feel for a pulse, which of course was fine. "Honestly, House, why do you not listen to me? I asked you if you had methadone and you said no. I'm guessing you did?" House nodded dismissively, not bothering to argue that it in fact wasn't his and yawned. "This is boring. Isn't there something else on?" He picked up a remote and tried to change Foreman and Cuddy but it wasn't working. Cuddy sighed and looked at Foreman. Foreman didn't know what to say, either. And with that, Cuddy rushed into the bathroom, and slammed the door shut. House looked over at Foreman and said "Ugh! Women!" Foreman ignored him and placed the oxygen mask around House's mouth.

House sighed through the mask, knowing that there was a way for him to go to the bathroom with her locked in it. He didn't want to hear it, though. Cuddy stepped out of the bathroom. He saw her opening the door, and he said, taking the mask off "Well, I sure as hell wasn't going to have you staying in the bathroom all night. You don't have Cameron here, so no fooling around, anyway." He gave her a snarky grin and placed the mask back on his mouth. She said "I wasn't going to be in there all night. And why would you think that Cameron and I would be fooling around? Huh? Did I give off some kind of weird vibe about that?" She stood there, placing her hands on her hips.

House once again took the mask off, but tossed the thing and the tank to one side. Cuddy looked at him funny. He glared at her for a minute, before giving up, saying "I just wanted to make sure, so I don't hear you and Cameron gossiping and giggling in there. Nothing like seeing 2 girls going to the bathroom together. Are you sure you're not...you know..." She said "Why would you think that Cameron and I..you know what, forget it. It's a girl thing. You wouldn't understand. Wait, what WERE you going to ask?" she asked him. It was hard for him to think that, because Cuddy's not like that...or was she? House looked at her, narrowing his eyes. He said "I only thought that because you two like to gossip and giggle like two teenage girls at a dance." He then blushed, feeling the color creep up into his face and he said "I...uh...just thought maybe you go both ways." Cuddy said "Wait..wait...let's go back to living room. For this one, you'll need to sit." House said slowly "Oookay" and sat on the couch with a thud. She looked over at Foreman and said "Go. We're fine." Foreman said "Are you sure?" She nodded. Foreman said goodbye to House, and waited for him to say something idiotic. House said "Dark One. Don't forget to send my shirts out to the dry cleaners." Foreman sighed and said "That's YOUR job." House grinned, satisfied.
