I think everyone who has read the previous chapter knows pretty much the entire plot of this chapter: battle time! As promised in the previous chapter, here is a short overview for those who chose to skip over the graphic: Elsa had a nightmare of zombie Eggman trying to kill her. Despite how evil they looked, however, they had a bright blue light in their hearts for just a moment before they basically piled on top of her and tried to suffucate her to death. That light is important near the end of the story. That's about all that happened. Anything else you missed is part of this chapter as well. Without further ado, here is the next chapter.

Chapter 10: Power Through Murder

Shadow

Metal Sonic led them right back to the ruined base, Shadow hot on his heels. The robotic doppelganger dropped the terrified kitsune unceremoniously on his head. Tails barely had time to recover from the drop before Metal grabbed the disoriented fox's neck, tightening its grip until he could hardly breathe. Shadow was inches away from punching range when the robot called up an electric field. Needless to say, the Ultimate Life form had a shocking experience mere moments later. Shadow hit the field head on, unable to stop himself. Upon contact; the ebony hedgehog was not only shocked, but flung across the corridor and back outside. Olaf and Kristoff were flung to the sides, symmetrically flattening against the opposite walls of the hall in perfect unison.

Olaf was the first to get up. "That was fun! Let's do that again!"

"Ugghhh... That was what you call fun?" Kristoff stiffly rose to his feet. Being flattened against a steel wall was definitely having its effect on him. He rubbed his aching head, until he realized just what he was standing in front of. "Uh, hi?" Metal swung its fist in a deadly hook toward Kristoff's temple, lodging the robotic hand in the wall when Kristoff ducked just in time. "Gaah! It just tried to kill me!" Kristoff backed up as the blue robot attempted to free itself from the confines of its master's base. "I'll get 'em! Unhand the fox, you bad robot!" Olaf screamed as he charged toward Metal. Upon entering the electric field, however, he started to melt. By the time he reached his target, Olaf passed through it like a ghost. He fell down on the other side, beginning to freeze up again. "Whoa! What wasthat?" He asked in amazement.

"THE ELECTRONIC FIELD RAISED THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER TO ABOUT 2° CELSIUS." The robot obediently informed in its deep bass electronic tones.

"I have no idea what that means, but it sounds cool." Olaf replied, now almost completely frozen again.

"If you two are done chatting" Shadow did not seem amused at how the robot and the snowman had gotten along so well so quickly. "We will return to business." Shadow pointed an accusing finger at Metal Sonic, and his glare foretold only death to those unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of his angry scowl. "What do you want with the fox?"

"HE IS THE MEANS TO BRINGING BACK DR. EGGMAN. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT HE IS IN MY POSSESSION."

"Well" the ebony hedgehog's stance visibly slackened "there is no reason to strangle him to death if he truly is the mean to bringing him back, right?"

Metal Sonic looked down at the fox in his grasp. There was a purple hue visible in his cheeks as he struggled hopelessly against the iron grip. Suddenly, Tails was able to breathe again. "THAT IS OF NO CONCERN TO YOU."

"Actually, Sonic disappeared as well." Shadow did not hesitate to point out "so it actually does pertain to me. The faker needs to come back with the doctor, or you're going to have to find the kitsune a new head." He charged up a Chaos Spear to prove his point. "Don't worry if I miss, if both of them don't come back in time, we will all die anyway."

"THERE IS NO LOGIC TO THAT THREAT."

"Would you prefer me to beat the logic into your cheap metallic head instead?" Shadow charged up another Chaos Spear.

"YOU WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN COMBAT WITH ME WHILE YOUR FRIEND IS STILL IN MY POSSESSION." Metal bluffed.

"Try me" Shadow tossed a Chaos Spear at the robot's feet, forcing it to jump back "I'm not Sonic."

Olaf did not like the situation "can't we all just get along?" He complained as he and Kristoff ducked for cover.

The machine was silent for a moment, seemingly processing the new information to find a suitable solution. Finally, it spoke "I HAVE A PROPOSITION."

"Hm? And what would that be?" For Metal Sonic to succumb to a 'proposition' however small, the machine never struck bargains with anyone. This was definitely interesting.

"IT SEEMS WE HAVE A COMMON GOAL. LET US COOPERATE UNTIL WE REACH THE UNKNOWN WORLD THAT THE DOCTOR AND THE FAKER HAVE TRAVELED TO."

Shadow pretended to think about it, but knew that they would be done faster if two people left to search for the remaining Chaos Emerald. After enough time to be deemed convincing, Shadow agreed "just know that once we reach our destination, your body is going to burried in the center of the nearest mountain."

"LIKEWISE, GLORIFIED ROADKILL."

Elsa

"Are you guys ready" Sonic asked one last time, taking out the Chaos Emerald. When the sisters nodded, the cerulean hedgehog called up a Chaos Control. That very instant, they were in the cobbled streets of Arrandelle. Anna shook her head vigorously, trying to reorient herself.

"That's gonna take some getting used to" she said as she held her head, then her stomach moments later. Elsa, strangely, was not affected.

"Sonic, where is this 'friend' of his, she asked suspiciously. When he didn't answer, she turned toward to properly address him; until she noticed that Sonic was holding a blue emerald. It was then that it hit her. That fat man had a Chaos Emerald! The Snow Queen leaped back, icy mist surrounding her hands as she stepped into an appropriate stance.

" Whoa, hey!" Sonic's voice suddenly changed into a more recognizable, and hated, tone. "Don't you recognize a friend when you see one?" A tantalizing smirk played on the face of the cerulean hedgehog. For a moment, the entire form of the thing fizzled almost out of existence; then 'Sonic' solidified again. That voice was very familiar, yet neither of the sisters could remember where they had heard the voice before.

When Elsa responded, she sounded like death "tell me who you are, and where you have really taken us. Now!" 'Sonic' just laughed. "You are going to regret this very soon" Elsa said.

The fake just kept laughing. "You still ask me for my name? Was I just not good enough?" Then he stopped, realizing the implications of their questions "no, really. I'm serious. You don't remember?"

For whatever reason, hearing the voice again boosted Anna's memory. "Hans?" She asked tentatively. Elsa's eyes widened for a moment, then became a death glare centered on the fake Sonic.

"Finally!" Suddenly, the world around and below them disintegrated, revealing their true location. They were in the center of what used to be the ice palace. Marshmallow, or what they assumed to be the snowman; lay in a mushy heap at the bottom of the stairs, that were somehow still intact. Elsa gasped, barely able to believe her eyes. The ice below them was fractured like glass, and huge slabs of ice jutted out from the ground as if they had shrunk and someone broke a lantern above them. The trees nearest the ruined castle looked partly scorched, and an electric feeling hung in the air.

"What did you do?" Was all that the Snow Queen could say.

Time to get to work,Hans thought. "Do you know of the new kingdom just behind this mountain?" Sonic's hologram froze and fizzled out of reality as a response. The frozen remains unceremoniously fell crumbling to the floor. "I thought so" he said as he winked into the visible spectrum. The sisters gasped, and took a cautious step back. Hans was seated in a triangular craft much liked the one Eggman had used. The ship looked like an icicle sliced vertically in half. Its nose was blood red, and the colors brightened toward the end to a sort of sunset yellow. A small pale blue windshield half-sheilded what was visible of the man from any likely attacks, and underneath the nose was a small cannon, painted a deep blood red. "Surprise! Royal messenger Hans, at your service."

The sisters exchanged glances, then were thrown into a fit of giggles. "What" asked Hans "what's so funny?"

"I never expected" Anna attempted to say through her laughing, "to that" she laughed once more before she calmed down enough to finish her sentence "that you would be so proud of just getting the role of a messenger. Are you really the Hans that tried to kill Elsa and I last time we met?"

Hans suddenly looked down at the floor in a worried expression. "No."

"Elsa! Anna!" Sonic called from somewhere in the distance.

"Great, can I meet with you two somewhere else? Where that hog won't find us?"

"Why" asked Elsa "he is not usually a violent creature, unless you provoke him."

Hans took one more worried look in the direction that the blue blur's voice had come from before continuing "I might as well get the confusing news out of the way before that blue demon arrives. I had to build this thing myself, and I'm much too proud of my handiwork to let it be trashed by that creature." Just in case, however, Hans had his thumb on the shield button. "I have joined forces with Lord Eggman" Elsa reacted with lightning speed, giving Hans a split second to activate the fire shield before the full fury of a blizzard hit the Southern Star at full force. The blast rocked the craft violently, and the former prince was afraid for a moment that he would be thrown off. "Hey stop!" He helplessly called out "You didn't let me finish!"

Just as the shield was about to crack under the pressure of the icy whirlwind, it stopped. Elsa took a step forward, freezing the ground under her and causing icicles to grow from the trees nearest her. Both Anna and Hans suddenly wished they had brung some form of heavy clothing. "Finish quickly" the Snow Queen commanded "or I will freeze you where you stand."

Hans took a deep breath before explaining his situation. "Lord Eggman recruited both me and the Duke of Weselton. At first, we thought that this man could help us get our revenge. Then, we found out his plan. He's planning to turn the entire earth into one huge machine that he will rule over, shaped into the form of some twisted, metallic carnival. He calls it-"

"Eggmanland" Sonic appeared from behind the former prince. "I think I know where this is going."

"I plan to betray him."

"To us?" Anna asked.

"More like to the world." Hans replied. "Lord Eggman plans to transform all life froms on this planet into metal duplicates that all obey his every whim. Basically, he plans to enslave the earth."

"No..." Elsa was too shocked to say more.

"How can he do that?" Anna asked in disbelief.

"The man has already done it to all the animals he was able to capture." He places them inside machines that use them as a sort of battery."

"Actually" Sonic informed him "the brains of the animals act like the brains of the robots. The animals aren't used as batteries."

Hans looked down "I saw the model you're talking about, hog. They aren't in use anymore."

"What?" Sonic was shocked. Could Eggman really do something so cruel?

"The animals are eaten alive. This" Hans pulled out a small leather bag "was all that was left of a deer that was used in his improved Badniks. I'm sure you're familiar with those models, Sonic."

The blue blur was too shocked to be surprised that the man knew his name. In the bag was an ounce of lead.
