The next morning as the sleep fog began to lift, I reached over feeling the empty cool of the bed beside me, my eyes opened slowly and Jacobs name coming out naturally between parted lips just as the coughing ensued again.
When the fit passed I finally got a proper look around the small room, this wasn't where I'd fallen alseep. Somehow I'd ended up back inside the twins room.
"Jacob," I whispered his name like a prayer, knowing he would be the one to hear me. "Where are you?" I closed my eyes again, sleep threathening to take me into the blissful dark when the creek of the door and someone walked into the room pulled me back out.
A small smile creeped into the corner of my mouth. But I kept my eyes clothes. Though it took a lot not to look at the man entering the room. I had been at the edge of the bed, I heard the sound of a cup being softly set down on the little night stand on the side of the bed.
"Bells," I felt his warm breath against the shell of my ears and a little moan escaped from the back of my throat.
Jacob chuckled, his face buring into the crook of my neck his nose traveling along the collum of my neck and to the spot where he had bit me the night before. He groanded as he went over the mark a few times, before placing a soft kiss to the spot.
I gasped in surprised, the simple act had awaken my whole body, it felt I was feeling a million times more than usual, all the way to the feel of the fabric against my now sensitve skin. I found myself wanting so much to be entangled in his arms once more.
"Jake," Another soft prayer falling from my parted lips, I raised my left arm up and ran my hands into his hair as he nipped at my flesh and pulling a excited whimper. I turned my head so that I could look at him.
His dark eyes, were looking at me in wonder. Searching for something in my own. I tugged at him, I knew I wasn't being fair to him. But like he had said last night. I wanted to focus on us here and now. I was with him right now. He was all I could see, all I could feel. Even his scent had wrapped itself comfortably around me, pulling me into a cocoon of everything Jacob.
Jacob didn't resist as I pulled him toward me his mouth moulding perfectly to my own in a gentle kiss. Finally he pulled away, kissing my eyes and nose.
"Good morning beautiful,"
"Good morning." I returned his greeting, my fingers tracing his jawline. It was odd like I needed the contact more than I had ever needed anything before. For a moment he cupped his hand over my own and held it against him before bringing it to his mouth for a quick little kiss against my knuckles.
"Your dad is here," As if on que, a boom of laugher came from the kitchen, where no doubt they were sitting and talking over the coffee I was now smelling.
"Did you bring me back in here?" I asked him with a smile so he knew I wasn't upset.
"Yeah," He chuckled. "Dad saw you sleeping by me and said as much as Charlie like me I'd proabably end up at the end of a barrow for sleeping in the same bed as you. He suggested I put you back before he came and got you."
I nodded, a blush creeping up my neck and settling in my cheeks at the thought of Billy seeing us in Jakes bed and what he might be thinking.
"When did he get here?" I asked stretching in the bed a little groan in my throat. I watch Jake eagerly take in the site before him as my back arched and rested back against the bed.
"About ten minute ago, he looked in on you then went into the kitchen with dad and made some coffee."
"Have you eaten yet?" I asked sitting up to go and make all the important men in my life some breakfast.
"Bells," he shifted in front of me, his warm hands on my thighs, I looked at them before looking into his dark eyes. "You don't have to, you're sick." He said knowing what I meant to do.
"I know, but I want to." I licked my lips feeling parched, and he immidatly turn and picked up a small cup.
"Tea, lemon and honey. I heard you coughing when you woke up."
I egarly took the cup, thankful he was always so thoughtful of me and greedily gulped the now warm cup of tea.
Much to the protest of the men in the room I washed up throughly and began to prepare breakfast for them. Charlie and Billy not wanting to be in the way headed into the living room talking about lastweeks game and watching the news.
Jacob stayed with me in the kitchen asking if I wanted him to do anything. So I put him to work on the mix for pancakes, smiling as he listened intently and followed every direction I gave him while I started to make hashbrowns and bacon.
He cocked and eyebrow at me. "Going all out for this aren't you?"
I playfully elbowed his rib "Don't act like you're not going to enjoy it."
As I started on the pancakes, Jake started on setting the table. The feeling I had was indecribable. Everything felt so right. I watched as Jake pulled out the plates and small glasses for orange juice. His huge form walking effortlessly around the kitchen, it seem like a show meant only for my eyes.
I turned back to the last of the batter, it wasn't long until I felt strong arms wrap around my waist he pulled me lightly into his chest. How could this feel so right. How could it be that as soon as his arms wrapped around me I melted into him, leaning back into his embrace. He bent running his nose along my shoulder, again he nipped at it and I felt my legs buckle under me as a shiver worked its was up my spine and like a ripple worked its way outward down my toes and into my fingertips. My whole body had come to life again.
"What are you doing to me?" I breathed.
He hadn't said a word, so I tilted my head up to see him. He looked a bit bewildered, but a smile was splayed playfully across his face. My heart fluttered. It had been so long since this particular sun had shown down on me that I reveled in its warmth.
Jake kissed my cheek before stepping away. "We should tell them to eat, I'm sure your dads pretty tired."
"Um. . . yeah, yeah tell them breakfast is ready." I blinked and grabbed at the counter for support. What the hell was happening. I couldn't understand the sudden need for him, the need for some sort of constant touch.
"Hey old man," Jake called from the kitchen.
"What is it son," Billy chuckled as Charlie mumbled something only heard by Billy and no doubt Jacob.
"Come and eat, or Bella and I will eat it all."
The two man came in chattering happily including Jacob and me in the conversation. We were all laughing about some nonsense and enjoying our meal.
I looked around the table at the men and felt a little pang in my chest. Why couldn't this last forever? But one thing was for sure, I would keep this moment frozen and with me for the rest of my time on earth.
This moment was mine and I would protect it, always.
