"Mommy can Spencer come over for dinner again?" Maddie asked reading a book at the counter.

Emily looked up at her daughter. It had been a month since Reid had come over to dinner. "I don't know. Why don't you call him."

Emily watched as Maddie's book was forgotten as she ran to the living room. Emily knew she would have to tell Maddie that Reid was her father, but she didn't know when or how.

Maddie ran back into the kitchen dancing around. "Spencer said he would be over in an hour. He's bringing a new book to show me."

Emily laughed as Maddie ran right into Holly who was trying to walk into the kitchen.

"Sometimes I wonder how she is related to us." Holly said rolling her eyes at the energy of her niece.

Emily smiled slightly think about Maddie's father. "She gets her brains from her father."

Holly looked shocked at her sister's words. "I think that's the first time you have ever mentioned her father."

Emily shook her head. "Get use to it he's coming for dinner."

Holly looked even more shocked. She ran up to her room to call her other sister. Emily remembered how Reid had been mad at the ball park when she told him. Now she had to tell her daughter.

Reid arrived exactly an hour later. He was greeted by a very excited Maddie.

Reid bent down to her level and handed her a book. "This is for you. It's called The Little Princess. It's about..."

He was cut of by Maddie hugging him. "Thank you Spencer."

Then she ran to show Emily her new book. Reid was left at the door shocked. He stayed there a for a minute then followed Maddie's earlier direction into the kitchen.

"Good afternoon Emily." Reid said sitting down beside Maddie. Maddie didn't notice as she was reading her book.

"Good afternoon Reid." Emily said as she was cooking dinner.

"Where is Holly I have something for her too?"

That's when Holly walked back into the room still on the phone. "Got to go Dr. Reid is here."

Holly hung up the phone. Then looked at her sister asking a question without words. Reviving a nod Holly took a small step back.

Reid handed her a book also. "It's about soccer so I thought you might enjoy it."

Holly accepted the book and smiled. "Thank you Dr. Reid."

"Holly you can call me Reid or Spencer if you like."

"Well thank you Reid. Em said I could play soccer next season since I just moved back in three months ago." Holly said.

"Dinners ready." Emily said putting the food on the table.

They were eating dessert when Emily and Reid decided to bring up the subject.

"Maddie remember you asked me about your dad and I didn't answer your question." Emily asked.

Maddie nodded.

"Well how would you like to get to know him?" Emily questioned.

Maddie's eyes lit up and she nodded.

"Maddie meet your father, Spencer Reid." Emily watched her daughter's face.

Maddie was shocked then smiled. She got up from her seat and circled the table to sit in his lap. "So dose that mean I can call you daddy?" Maddie asked.

Reid smiled. "If you want to."

"Okay."

Maddie insisted on Reid staying longer. After her bath The four of them watched a movie. Halfway through Maddie fell asleep in Reid's lap. When it ended Emily stood up to get Maddie.

"No, I got her." Reid said then picked Maddie up and carried her to her room.

He tucked her in and she stirred a little.

"Night daddy." She whispered.

Reid kissed her n the head and whispered back. "Night Maddie."

From the door way Holly and a teary eyed Emily watched the scene play out.
