X-Dragons
Chapter ten has come. There's a story going around called "Saiyan-x" made by robvegetto. To make things clear, he's a fan of my story and because I wasn't updating my story fast enough, he decided to make a spin-off out of it the way he sees it. His story is written like he thinks best, but mine is completely different. Only chapters from 1 to 8 are mostly the same, from then on our stories are completely unrelated. He writes his own thing and I my own.
And I let him do it so please stop saying that someone is stealing my story.
Chapter 10: Old Pains
A week had passed since the last incident with the unstoppable Juggernaut mutant, and now the entire mutant people in the mansion along with the entire school and nearly everyone in Bayville knew that Gohan and Kitty were a couple. The half Saiyan could say that his energy attacks were faster than light, but gossips were apparently even more faster. Of course, both X-Men just paid no heed to the babbling about them. And there was a lot of babbling going on. Seriously, people just didn't have anything else to do? Didn't they have lives of their own?
Of course their friends were the only ones who they really cared. Professor and Storm gave them a brief lecture about sex, which they completely ignored. Whatever happened with them in that topic, they would develop it at their own time. Which would be much later. Logan prefered to stay aside from love topic or sex topic, specially with any of his students. The other mutant students just didn't overreact. It had been obvious all along, not counting the fact Gohan and Kitty were all the time together talking or grabbing hands together, so things hadn't changed that much when it came to the team.
Under the peaceful summer day, Kitty walked out of the mansion, siting under a tree's shadow. She was trying to write an e-mail to her parents but the house was just too crowded for her liking. The phasing mutant tried to write almost everything she could think to them but it wasn't something easy. Especially the part she was now the girlfriend of a half human half alien teenager, who could destroy the planet anytime he wanted. She decided to not mention that for the time being, though. Saying something so important had to be face to face, and not in a computer.
The same mentioned half human alien was doing sit ups, with his weighted paddler, now four and half million tons. Goku's son had his face covered in sweat but he wouldn't stop. He needed ten thousand push ups and he would do just that.
Kitty typed into her computer, as she was resting comfortably against the tree in the Saturday morning. Suddenly, she heard footsteps nearby. The phasing mutant saw the two figures of Wolverine and Professor. Both seemed to be in a serious conversation. Especially Logan. Seriousness was at full display on his face. Not that he wasn't already serious, but saying he was 'more' serious, now one should worry a bit.
"Sit Logan, we can discuss it" Professor advised, offering Logan to sit. The healing mutant did, reluctantly. For the last couple of days Wolverine had been having weird dreams about himself and more. Something he didn't remember. He was inside a tank, filled with green liquid, needles injecting something inside him. Something hot and painful.
"Easy for you to say Charles" Logan mumbled, rubbing his head. Even his advanced healing couldn't deal with migraines so fast. "There's something meddling in my head. You need to get inside and cut it loose"
"You will have to relax for that" professor said, now serious. Logan breathed in and out, easing his body, though his mind was still a wreck. Professor placed his hand on Logan's head, entering his mind.
A flashback of images rushed to the outside, showing an old bald man in a trench coat, observing the injections Logan was receiving with a clinical eye. Like if Logan was just another test for him. Another toy for him to play with as much as he wanted to.
Logan breathed out, his brain hurting even more than before.
"Tell me it was a dream" Logan said. Professor's shook of head unsettled the healing mutant. Even more that before.
"A repressed memory, a very old one" Charles explained, rubbing his chin "Maybe a glimpse that would explain how you acquired your Adamantium weaponry"
"Yeah, I thrilled to discover that" Logan said, rubbing his templates. Entering Logan's mind again, both mutants saw the visions now more real, no longer lost in the mutant's subconscious. Both breathed heavily, as Logan realised the truth. What lied beneath the Weapon X. How he hated that name!
"Whatever happened, it was because of that old coot" Logan said angry, claws popping out of his hands. "I have to go"
"You don't need to do this alone Logan" Professor advised, knowing what was going on inside Logan's anxious mind.
"When did I start doing it otherwise?" Logan said, not even turning around to look at Charles.
Kitty walked through the corridors, trying to still found a peaceful place for her to write the letter to her parents. The mansion was really crowded, even when only eight mutants and a half Saiyan lived on it. As she was peacefully walking, one of the doors suddenly sprung out of its hinges with mighty force. The door had a three-clawed mark on it. Logan walked out of the room dressed in his orange outfit, his claws at display. The mutant teacher was rubbing his head dangerously.
"Mister Logan are you ok?" Kitty tried to ask, yet she really didn't want to get near him. His face wasn't showing any kind of kindness at all.
"Yeah fine" Logan lied, putting the door back to its place "Just redecorating" The healing mutant left, rubbing his head. Kitty decided to pay no heed. Maybe it was one of those especial Logan's days of the month when no one had to bother him or whoever tried would end up shredded.
Kitty decided to phase through the floor, going down straight into the Blackbird. The new silence was very welcomed, as now she could finally end her letter. But after a few minutes, the sudden shook of the plane brought that thought down. She lost her balance, falling to the ground. The aircraft left the Hangar at tremendous speed.
Gohan had just entered the Hangar, after finishing his training. Just in time to see the Blackbird leaving the place. The half Saiyan, however, could feel Kitty and Logan's energies inside.
"This is weird" Gohan thought. He immediately took off in the air after the blackbird's speed, without tiring himself at all.
The phasing mutant girl went through the metal door, right into the main cabin. She found the orange-dressed Logan flying the plane. Yet, his eyes were fully concentrated on the air.
"Em, mister Logan?" She asked, touching his shoulder. With a growl the mutant fired a closed-hand thrust, Adamantium claws out. On instinct Kitty phased herself, the metal weapons passing through her without leaving a scratch.
"Sorry if the sit is taken" Shadowcat walked back, trying to get away from her sudden rogue professor. Wolverine was walking to her, ready to hurt her. Yet his natural self stopped the feeling he had of tearing Kitty's limbs off her body.
"Get out of here!" Logan yelled his head ringing with migraine "I'm dangerous!" Before she could reply, Logan shutted the door, closing the phasing mutant girl in. Though the girl could escape anytime she wanted, the healing mutant did it to keep himself away from her. Unless he cut the door to simple metal pieces.
"Alright, this is creep like in so many levels" Kitty thought, rubbing her head.
"Hey Kitty!" A sudden mental call hit her.
"Gohan?" The phasing mutant asked through the mental link "Where are you?"
"Right outside the plain" He simply answered. The brunette mutant phased her head through the wall, starring to the flying outside. Gohan was flying next to the Blackbird, no trouble at all. She extended her intangible hand and Gohan went inside, untouchable for a moment.
"Alright what's going on?" Gohan asked to his girlfriend.
"Logan's gone nuts, that's what happened!" Kitty blurted out. Gohan placed a hand on her shoulders, calming her. She sighed, easing her breathing.
"Look, Logan is many things, but not a murderer" Gohan said, thinking for a moment and rubbing his chin "Not a friends' murderer at least" Kitty's rose eyebrows showed she didn't believe him "Let just wait till Logan arrives where he wants to go. Then we can find out what's going on"
A few minutes of flight later, the controlled Wolverine walked out of the Blackbird. As he got away in the deep snowy mountains of Canada, two figures phased down through the Blackbird, Saiyan and Shadowcat on their uniforms.
"Can you keep track of him?" Kitty asked mentally. A few minutes ago they tried to contact the mansion, but it was useless. The comlinks were jammed. Someone's hand was involved. This exact place and time were no coincidence. Creating a mental link only they two shared, was a far better way to communicate with each other and not be intercepted by technology.
"Of course I can" Gohan replied on his mind. Both started walking following the mutant signature. Though Gohan didn't say it, the entire place looked like a trap. Wolverine's sudden violence wasn't normal at all. Even for a wild mutant like him.
Inside a secret nearby lab, a bald black trench-coated old man was staring at the many surveillance cameras he had. Doctor Abraham Cornelius had his eyes rooming all over the places, as he tried to find his good old Weapon X. Once he saw the orange figure moving like a zombie to his secret place, he smiled.
"Wolverine" The scientist said "Even after all this years, the prodigal son still needs his father. You can't escape my control Wolverine, no matter how much willpower you think you have inside"
"Why now?" A man's voice said, coming out of the lab's shadows. Sabretooth was back, and angry as ever towards Wolverine. Angry would be the word though, if he wasn't also just another puppet for the good old Abe.
"After years with his guard down with Xavier, why not?" The bald man said in 'pointing the obvious' tone. "Now, Big foot, make sure our old college has the greetings he deserves"
"Don't call me that!" Sabretooth growled, yet the back of his mind commanded him to do otherwise.
Wolverine kept walking on the snowy path, his eyes fixed. Something was very eerie. Especially inside his mind. What was with the headache and all that?
He couldn't ponder any further, as the wild Sabretooth tackled him to the ground. The orange mutant rolled back on the ground with Sabretooth on him, kicking the wild man against a tree. The snow on its treetop covered Sabretooth.
"Now bub, give me some answers or..." Logan threatened, his claws coming out. Yet an even greater headache impacted Wolverine's brain, driving him into dark unconsciousness.
A few minutes later, and back inside the lab, Doctor Abraham was checking on his old weapon X. Logan opened his eyes, recognising the old geezer as the man inside his dreams. More like nightmares though.
"Wow Logan, your age has obviously not undermined your powers at all" The science man said, pressing buttons on an especial device "Of course, the Adamantium armament must have saved you more times that you can admit it" Sabretooth walked inside, a stoic expression.
"Big foot, nice you decided to join us" The bald man said, nearly happy. His only response was a growl "Now, both ready for some serious training?"
"Let's do it" The wild man said. Logan didn't, as he wasn't ordered to do so.
"The test subjects are in position" The bald man said, rubbing his chin. The cameras showing Saiyan and Shadowcat popped up "Bring me the boy alive though. His powers are mostly intriguing" There was something out of place regarding that kid. They were both getting near his lab, and it was obvious the dark-haired boy had some especial sense to direct himself towards it.
"What about the girl?" The wild Creed asked.
"The cameras will be off in a few minutes, so have fun as you want" The doctor waved off the problem. He practically didn't care what could happen to the mutant girl. Sabretooth smiled sadistically by the answer he got. The young ones were always the more appetizing.
Both X-men were still walking, following the energy signature of their teacher. That until Gohan stopped, surprising Kitty.
"What's the problem?" Shadowcat asked. Her boyfriend was never to act so rush unless it was serious. That seriousness proved to save the X-Men a few times before.
"Logan is walking to us" Saiyan explained "And he is bringing some company" As he finished, the mist cleared, showing the Orange resurrected Weapon X and Sabretooth. Gohan smirked after he recognised the wild man next to his teacher.
"Cave man, nice to see you again" Gohan said, cracking knuckles "How is the jaw doing?" Like if an order, The savage mutant rubbed his face furious.
"You will pay for that, runt" The wild mutant bellowed, his nails shaping into claws. Both X-Men went for a fighting.
"Said it before, remember?" Gohan said, his smile increasing if possible. "Shadowcat, get ready" She got ready in no time. If Saiyan ordered, then you followed and you would live to see the other day. Sabretooth attacked his teenager enemy, his blows being brushed aside with little effort from Gohan's part. A few months ago, The half Saiyan had defeated Sabretooth and that time Gohan was just playing. Now much more trained thanks to Thor and his own training, the half Saiyan was even better. He not only had improved by leaps and bounds, but Sabretooth had not tried to improve at all.
Wolverine went for Shadowcat, his claws coming out. Kitty waited for the last second, until she phased through her enemy forward. Now behind him, she regained tangibility and jumped, landing a kick to the back of Logan's head. Wolverine slanted forward, his body unbalanced. She took the advantage and ducked down with her leg forward, her leg sweeping Logan's and forcing him down to the snow.
She started to move away from him. Weapon X growled, as he followed her racing. Shadowcat kept running, taking Wolverine as far away as she could from Gohan. Two against one would not be fair for her boyfriend, even when he could handle them without a problem.
"No Logan, give me the boy!" The scientist ordered, his finger pressing the order button. Logan growled, as a bip ran through his brain. His will tried to fight it, yet it was useless. He went along his sabre brother for Gohan's head. Kitty realised that Logan was no longer following her. Shadowcat pondered something on her mind. She could go and help her boyfriend, yet at the same time, Gohan could handle everything they through at him without a trouble in the world.
The brunette mutant smiled. She had another plan. If someone was controlling the wild man and his teacher, then he surely had a secret base or something.
Just as Saiyan was fighting for his life, well just fighting, the teleporting mutant called Nightcrawler walked inside his room, to find a brown envelope. It had a letter inside.
The half Saiyan was easily dodging Sabretooth's untrained blows after a few minutes, wasting no energy in doing so. As he kept evading the attacks, Wolverine messed the party, as now two feral mutants attacked an alien. And still two on one wasn't enough to bring the balance on Abe's control mutants side.
Saiyan brushed Logan's strikes to his sides, the claws not getting near at all. Gohan knew what Adamantium could do to him, so he decided to be more guard and not slip. As he dodged, Sabre attacked with his finger nail claws. Gohan again sidestepped it, though this time he grabbed the outstretched limb. Saiyan spun around, still grabbing Sabre's arm, as Wolverine tried to impale the black-haired alien. Yet the Saiyan put the wild mutant in the path of the metal claws.
A wild roar echoed in the mountains, as three Adamantium claws were impaled through Sabre's chest. Saiyan floated up, gathering ki in his hands, ready to finish the fight. But just as Gohan was ready to bring both into unconsciousness, and hopefully something more for Sabretooth, the feral mutants fell right through the snow, disappearing inside the ground. Kitty phased up from the floor smirking like the little imp she was.
"I was doing okay, you know" Gohan said, placing hands on his hips. Kitty gave a playful smile, followed by a short lip kiss in her boyfriend's mouth.
"I know you were, but I found something more interesting" Shadowcat said, her eyes showing seriousness. Gohan decided to follow her to wherever place his girlfriend had found.
"No, this can't be!" Abe growled like his puppets did many times. His cameras couldn't find the intruders "Wolverine, return immediately!"
"Sorry, Wolverine's out" Saiyan's voice sounded, a black-haired boy walking into the secret lab, followed by the Shadow of a Cat "Want to leave a message?" The mad doctor would have been frightened, if he didn't know how to control his emotions.
"Ah the Superboy" Doctor said, nearly pleased, his hands cupped under his chin starring to the kid "I was expecting your coming"
"Really? Because your voice is saying otherwise" Kitty said smirking. She may not look deadly, but she was far from innocent.
"Please girl, you have no voice in this subject" The loony scientist simply talked her off.
"Maybe I don't" The mutant girl simply said, her hands going intangible through machines. Everything started to short-circuit, sparks flying everywhere "But who said that I need to?" With that said, the phasing mutant girl started running through the lab, putting any machine she saw into nothing but trash.
"No, stop!" Abe said, but a hand lifted him from the chair he was sitting.
"You messed with my teacher and friend" Gohan said, his black eyes showing no good emotion towards the old scientist "And you will pay for that"
"Sorry kid, but emotions are very overrated on these days" Abe said, as he pressed a button. The two savage mutant puppets ran inside, growling like wild beasts.
"Not so fast" Saiyan said, his free hand raising, pointing to the new comers. Two blue energy spheres fired off, hitting their targets. Sabretooth was out cold, hitting hard the back wall. But Wolverine was barely pushed back and knocked out of air. Maybe because Gohan's attack on him was low-powered on purpose. A yellow energy dome closed Logan inside. His claws tried to stab the yellow energy, only to bounce off.
"Logan listen to me" Gohan said through their minds "You are not evil. You are being controled" Weapon X tried to stab again his energy jail, only to grab his head in pain.
"Don't listen to him Logan!" Abe said, knowing that something was being said on each other's minds. The scientist knew how to recognise telepathy "He's playing with your mind!"
"He's the one playing with you Wolverine!" Gohan kept talking, his mind voice sounding stronger and more convincing than Abe's "Since when do you attack your own students?"
Logan slipped of the trance he was in, still feeling the ring on his head. Saiyan let go of Abe's neck, rushing to his teacher's side.
"Good to have you back" Gohan greeted his first teacher in the new world. His sudden inattention, however, allowed the mad scientist to activate the self-destruction device.
"Fools!" Abe said in his winning voice, like if he had actually won something "You will not escape in time, the entire lab will collapse over you!" As he finished, the jumping figure of Shadowcat delivered a jumping kick right into the man's jaws. The old scientist drifted into unconsciousness, after flying a few feet back.
Both healing mutant and half alien stared to the brunette mutant girl, who simply shrugged her shoulders.
"What? He was like very annoying" She simply said with no big deal. It seemed like kicks were her signature move. Gohan blurred out of sight, catching Kitty's lips with his own in a second, the contact creating an explosion. Very literal as the place was crushing down. Logan's cough took them out of the tongue fight, before things could get more heated.
"You have to get out of here" Wolverine ordered, as fire started to explode on the machines.
"Mister Logan, what about you?" Kitty asked
"Leave!" Logan ordered, and Gohan understood. This was something personal, and personally it had to end. Grabbing Kitty, Saiyan sped off and both left the self-destructing lab and their mutant teacher behind.
Logan walked to the fallen scientific figure. His claws popped out, as everything around started to go off.
"Weapon X has been terminated"
The claws fell, bashing the fire with a red blood color.
Gohan and Kitty were a few miles away from the underground lab, back again in the surface. Both knew Logan would be okay. After all, Adamantium was indestructible. Their hopes grew, until the entire mountain disappeared by the sudden nuke explosion.
Kitty's instincts told her to run and help her teacher. Yet, Gohan's hands stopped her from doing so. He could feel what she yet couldn't. From the debris an orange-cladded figure came out, bruises all over him. He looked to his mutant students, before falling hard on the ground out-cold.
The half Saiyan easily picked his unconscious teacher up and walked back to the Blackbird. His girlfriend followed along his side. Until they reached the plane.
"You know how to fly it?" Kitty asked to her boyfriend. Flying lessons were not on training schedule for mutants.
"Who said we had to?" The half Saiyan said smiling, an energy dome surrounding himself, Kitty, the unconscious Logan and the entire Blackbird. The yellow sphere flew up in the sky back to the X-Mansion.
An hour or two later, and after briefing the Professor, Gohan and Kitty were waiting for Logan to wake up, if he was ever going to. Whatever his brain had implanted, it was something hard to get out.
The sudden arrival of the rest of their fellow mutants took them out of their concern. Kurt seemed to be in shock, while Jean and Rogue were carrying him inside from the shoulders.
"What happened?" Kitty asked, looking to Kurt in the eye. He, however, couldn't return the look.
"We had a situation with the Brotherhood" Jean explained. Now that they were near, Saiyan and Shadowcat could see the few injures each member had. Nothing more sever than a bruise, thank goodness. If they got beaten by the Brotherhood it would be so humiliating.
"What kind of situation?" Gohan asked. Before Jean responded, however, Rogue touched her shoulder, stopping the red-haired telepath.
"Let Kurt explain" The goth mutant said, as it was Kurt's situation.
"This morning, I found a letter on my room" Kurt started explaining "It said that if I wanted answers, I had to go to alone" Each X-men member looked to each other, all of them knowing that something like that was obviously a trap. Sadly Kurt had to learnt it the hard way.
"Answers to what questions?" Gohan asked, hitting jackpot. The teleporting mutant decided to go straight to the point. Knowing Gohan, it was better that way.
"Mystique is my birth mother" Kurt said, regretting every-said word. Kitty was now surprised and even Gohan was. Now that Kurt said it, both mutants were blue. That should have been the first clue, though. Saiyan could have facepalmed, had the situation not being so serious.
"I really don't know what to do now" The German Mutant said, grabbing his hair with fury "What if I am as evil as her?" The other mutants couldn't answer him.
"Kurt, listen to me" Gohan advised, touching his friend's shoulder. The serious tone was well-heard and it was something all of them had to hear "It doesn't matter who you were born after. It's you who decides who to be in life"
"You sure about that?" The porting mutant asked, really not wanting to get his hopes high.
"Of course I am. My teacher was the Son of a Demon, and yet he was never bad to anyone. He even helped me and my dad to protect Earth many times" Gohan briefly explained Piccolo's story "So trust me Kurt, we make our own life regardless who or what our parents are"
"Why didn't you take philosophy at school?" Kitty asked playfully, grabbing Gohan's hand. He only smirked to her before they both walked back to check on Wolverine. Kurt left to his room to think a bit, while Jean and Rogue went to do some training together in the Danger Room.
Logan stirred in his bed, a few hours after the operation. His head was ringing like a school bell, though louder even more. He tried to leave the soft mattress, but he still felt dizzy. He felt hangovered when he couldn't even get drunk at all.
"Welcome back Logan" Professor entered with his wheelchair and greeted his old friend "We nearly lost you after the operation" Wolverine growled, indicating everything was okay.
"So, I can assume you found your answers" Professor chimed in. Wolverine nodded, though it was a lot of effort.
"More than I wanted to know" Logan bellowed, rubbing his temples "What about the kids?"
"They are fine, no need to worry" Charles calmed his friend. Two figures arrived on the entrance. Kitty ran and hugged his favourite grumpy teacher, while Gohan only smiled. Professor decided to give them some time.
"Nice to see you still with the living" Gohan said with his smile.
"I still need to find the way to bring you down, kid. So death will have to wait up" The healing mutant simply said.
"So everything is back to normal?" Kitty asked, knowing Logan was just fine.
"Yes, though a beer would really be appreciated" Wolverine wished, rubbing his head. A yellow light flashed in front of him, as a beer materialised from thin air. Logan looked to Gohan, after grabbing the beer.
"You forgot I can create things out of nowhere?" Saiyan said like it just was another day. And it was.
"Yeah, thanks for going magical with me" Logan said taking a little drink from the alcohol.
"You going to be okay?" Kitty asked concerned. Wolverine nodded. She nearly jumped in excitement "So no Danger Room session tomorrow?" Shadowcat asked with a lot of hope.
"Of course not. Two sessions" Logan said. Kitty's hope fell right to the ground, while Gohan laughed of her face. Saiyan just looked to his teacher and girlfriend. It was just another day in his weird life. A life he wouldn't change at all.
The couple walked back to their respective rooms ready to take a rest.
"Well, I'm of to bed" Kitty said, stretching her arms up "I need a nap after kicking that geezer"
"Care for me to join?" Gohan whispered on her ear teasing. She smiled, before spinning around to stare at her boyfriend's black eyes.
"Easy there Blondie" She teased back, her arms snaking around his neck, delivering a small goodbye kiss on his lips. Gohan smiled before flying outside, his white paddler materializing on his shoulders, now more weighted. He had some training to do before resting.
