This is part two, I am working on Chapter Nine right now so hopefully it will go up some time today or maybe tomorrow!
Chapter 8 Part 2
In the beginning Eru Ilúvatar created the Gods and Goddesses, Arda, the Elves and Men. Eru Ilúvatar charged each God and Goddess with the sacred duty of creating life, he educated them in the making of Souls and Bodies. What follows is a short list of the Gods, Goddesses and their creations:
Manwë Súlimo was the creator of all manner of flying creatures, among these were the Great Eagles who were his children and messengers.
Varda Elentári wife of Manwë Súlimo was charged with creating all night-dwelling animals and to guide them through the darkness, she gave them the stars.
Ulmo Lord of the Deep was given dominion over the creatures of the waters of which he created many.
Aulë the Great Smith was told to create a species that was in tune with stone and metal, like himself, who could forge weapons to fight against the children of Morgoth.
Yavanna Kementári, the Giver of Fruits created all plants, but when she saw that the other creations were not respectful of her creations she begged Eru that she be allowed to create Guardians of Nature, Eru allowed this and Yavanna went on to create Ents to protect the Forests, Fae to protect the magical plants and Hobbits to protect the non-magical plants.
Oromë the Great Rider created the Horses and Cattle and other Beasts of Burden.
Vána the Ever-Young has no creations though along with her sister Yavanna she protects and cares for the plants of the world.
Námo (Mandos) the Keeper of the Dead has no creatures associated with him, but is present in the souls of all living things.
Vairë created the art of weaving and used this gift to record the story of Arda.
Irmo also has no creatures associated with him but is also present in the mind of every creature.
Estë the Lady of Healing and Rest has no creations but is the one who taught the Elves to heal.
Tulkas the War-God has no creations but watches over those whose battles are unfair.
Nessa has no creatures associated with her but was responsible for teaching joy, love, celebration and dancing to all creations.
Nienna the Lady of Mourning did not create any creature but taught to them all, grief, pity and compassion.
The free people of Middle-Earth have long forgotten how to directly interact with the Gods during life, accept for the Fae and Hobbits who respect the Wishes of Lady Yavanna and follow all her teachings. – Extract from the Gods and Their Creations as recorded by High Priestess Dallah Proudfoot: The Voice of the Green Lady.
They walked for nearly four days and Thorin was healing up nicely if his crotchety grumbling was anything to go by, he complained nearly endlessly and Bilbo was very much reminded of a whiny child.
"We are coming up to a place where we may find shelter for a while," Gandalf said. Luckily for him, Thorin was currently sleeping and unable to protest a rest break.
Bilbo looked around himself, he was standing in a child's bedroom it had a grey theme to it. He knew he was dreaming but this was no ordinary dream, there was a childish laugh and a young voice asked, "What's your name?"
Bilbo looked around again but could see no one in the grey room, "I am called Uilliam, what is your name?"
"I like you, your much nicer than that spidery man, I didn't let him see my room."
"I thank you for allowing me the honour of seeing your home, but you still haven't told me your name." Bilbo said sitting cross legged on the floor.
Suddenly a very small human boy of no more than seven years old materialised in front of him, "I am Mairon," the boy said. He had curly blond hair (not as curly as a hobbit's) and green eyes. He was wearing a light blue tunic and brown leather leggings.
"Where are we Mairon?" Bilbo asked.
"This is where I live, Big-Me put me here and now I'm stuck, I don't know for how long though."
"Big-You? What is his name?" Bilbo asked.
Mairon shook his head, "I don't like to say it it's a bad name. Cause he's a Bad-Man."
Bilbo cocked his head to the side, "Why is he a bad man?"
Mairon shock and hugged himself, "He hurt me, lots of times but he's gone now! I don't want to talk about him anymore!"
"Mairon, we don't have to talk about anything. What do you want to do?" Bilbo asked, sitting up on his knees so that he was eye level with the small child.
"Will you play with me?" Mairon asked jumping up and down.
"Of course, what do you want to play?"
"Cat's Cradle!" The boy exclaimed, "Do you know how to play?"
Bilbo frowned, "No I don't."
"Oh," Marion deflated.
"I suppose you'll just have to teach me!" Bilbo smiled and Marion cheered.
In the end it did not take nearly as much persuasion and Gandalf had predicted to get his friend to give them shelter, he took one look at Bilbo and Thorin and wouldn't let them leave until they were both healed.
Gandalf's friend, Beorn, was a very large Man he was nearly three feet taller than Gandalf and two times as broad as Bombur (Though there was no fat to speak of on him at all). But he was a gentle giant, he was very careful with all the Dwarves and Bilbo and even though he personally did not like Dwarves in general, he came to care for all of the Company.
I apologise if my interpretation and manipulation of Tolkien's Mythology is offensive but I know where I'm going with it.
