"Oi what's your name, get up."
Let me sleep a little while longer...
"Oi wake up already…"
I refuse! I shall keep laying on this so called "bed"!
"OI!"
"WH-"
I shouted, or tried to shout, but my mouth was covered by a palm. I couldn't make it out who it was at first, but soon enough noticed that it was Ryo who hushed at me.
"Let's not wake the others. Grab your jacket and we'll go."
He said, and before I could respond anything he forcefully pulled me up. Everyone else was asleep in the house, even the dogs, apparently, I couldn't see anyone, it was so… Dark and I mean like literally dark. I couldn't see in front of my nose, but I still could make out all of the details in the house… Confusing.
I put on my jacket and shoes before heading outside where Ryo was waiting, and as I got out I noticed that the world was dark as well, by now I've been in closed spaces so many times that I can recognize one if I am in it, and I was definitely inside one right now.
"About damn time."
Ryo said, as he grinned while looking at me. His voice was a bit different from usual, actually a lot; he was practically growling in a really low voice, like a bad imitation of Ryo. It still made me gulp, this won't end well I can tell already. I cleared my throat as I began to speak.
"What's going on?"
Ryo gave a chuckle.
"One would think that you'd know already, we're in the closed space that the brat created. A closed space that keeps on growing without a halt, and will swallow the whole city by tomorrow…"
"Yes, yes I know of that alrea- Wait. Was it not six days? You and Koizumi talked about it just hours before."
I asked as Ryo raised an eyebrow before continuing.
"Yeah… Six days…"
He said with doubt in his tone, and I feel more and more insecure as seconds go by, yet I am getting more and more curious as to what is going on. Ryo then grunted as he then spoke.
"Listen up fucker, by tomorrow-Next Saturday the place's coming to an end, and I want to see that happen… So I dare you fuckers to come and try to stop thi- Actually don't…. It's… Better to not have any unneeded bloodshed…"
He spoke with an unsure tone, and even an idiot would figure out that something is up, he stutters, he looks nervous and he's sweating even, and to top that his personality and coping methods did a full 180… Yet again I might add something's up.
"But why tell me? Are you perhaps afraid that others might be able to stop you?"
I asked with a grin, I began to gain more and more confidence over myself, albeit I'm still freaked out. Ryo looks freaked out as well though, and he acts like a cornered animal. I'm the one with the upper hand that's for sure, it's one of those "They fear you more than you fear them" situations. Ryo's grin faded as it turned into a nervous frown.
"Perhaps…"
"And what is stopping me from informing Koizumi or Nagato about this? You can't kill me here for sure, otherwise it would have been completely useless to bring me here just to tell this."
That is what I hope the situation to be of course. But thus far it seems correct. Ryo's frown turned into a smile… Of a madman… He then spoke.
"Very well then, bring them all here later today and we'll see who stands…"
As I was about to respond to his sudden change of mind, the sky began cracking to pieces as it fell. I saw a rather large shard of the sky coming down onto me, and as it slammed onto me. I rose from the pillows, and after a quick look around I could see that the sun had begun to rise, and the door to Ryo's bedroom was opened, and there was no one there, one of the mattresses was empty too. Luckily it wasn't Miss. Asahina, she's sound asleep looking absolutely adorable.
Wait. I woke up… Does that mean that all I just went through was just a dream?... Yeah no, I am not believing that.
"One thing I dislike about dogs that prefer to spend their time inside; They wake me up each and single morning so they can do their business outside…"
I heard the normal voice of Ryo outside, as then I heard Ayame's voice respond.
"Dogs? I was the one who had to wake you up whilst you slept like a cute little baby."
"Hah."
Ryo responded as I instantly laid back down to the pillows and turned onto my side so I would appear to be sleeping, I have a feeling that if I were to stay up it'd end awkwardly.
Soon enough I heard several claws scratching the floor once again, it was fast paced so I guess it was the puppy who was excited of something again. I could barely hear the other dog. Then I could hear the bedroom door being closed, but Ryo and Ayame were both still on this side of the house. He must have let the dogs there.
"Anyway, I can't really make us some coffee because others would wake up. But I guess we could go and grab something from the station, they're open 24/7."
I heard Ryo say, as Ayame gave off a silent giggle.
"A date at six in the morning in a gas station? Sounds like an every girl's dream."
"It's settled then, let's go."
And just like that, those two went off to their date… The most peculiar time to be on a date if you ask me, but meh, not my decision.
I don't know what happened after that, because the next thing I realized that there was a German shepherd staring straight into my eyes, and I could hear everyone walk around the house.
"Morning."
I heard Daichi say in a raspy voice, someone's got a cold…
"Kill me…"
Keigo responded with eye bags bigger than Arashi's.
Speaking of him, Arashi was sitting on the couch and playing on Ryo's laptop behind the German shepherd, and somehow it does not surprise me at all.
I could hear Eiri and Eiji argue in the bathroom.
"Don't get in the way."
"Stop pushing!"
It began to be more and more… Explicit after that.
I finally stood up as and turned around to see Haruhi, Miss. Asahina and Miss. Tsuruya circling around my sister who was still asleep, the puppy was in the process of waking her up.
I stood up and headed to the bathroom to do my business, enough about that subject. As I walked out I came across Koizumi, and I knew what needed to be done.
"We need to talk."
I said to him, as he smiled and gave off a nod.
"Very well then."
We went outside without anyone caring much, Haruhi did give us a look but that does not matter right now. I turned to face Koizumi as I began to speak.
"Ryo is not a Human is he?"
He seemed to be caught slightly off guard, but his smile did not fade all that much, he then responded.
"What do you mean?"
"Last night he talked with me in a closed space, informed that the town will be swallowed by tomorrow."
Now he's interested, his smile faded as he stared at me, and spoke in a cold tone.
"Are you sure?"
I gave off a nod, as Koizumi turned away and was silent for a couple of minutes, before turning back to me.
"What happened in the closed space? Tell me. I must know."
He said in a concerned, yet a cold, determined tone. This is a side I rarely get to see from him… I clear my throat and begin to speak.
"He woke me, and told me to come outside, I did so and there he told that the town would be swallowed by the closed space due tomorrow… Which I guess is today. Then the closed space collapsed."
Koizumi raised an eyebrow.
"Collapsed?"
I nodded, as Koizumi's tone changed to something more relaxed, but still concerned.
"The abnormal closed space is still growing. It has not collapsed… What happened after that?"
"I… Woke up and found myself laying on the "bed" made for me."
Koizumi stared at me with a rather, tired expression… Yeah, tired… Even his poker face has its limits.
"Are you certain that this was not another dream?"
"Look, the first dream was confusing and disorganized, but it still was somewhat real… This on the other hand… Way too real… It can't be a dream. Ryo even displayed emotions in this one…"
I said, as I went silent for a short ten seconds or so before continuing.
"His voice was different though, his voice was formed of constant grunting and growling as he spoke, you know; like the voice that comes from your throat in the morning."
Koizumi stood silent as he looked to the ground with a cold stare for a couple of minutes before giving off a chuckle and smiled as he raised his head to face me.
"That must have been a rather disconcerting dream."
"It wasn't a dre-"
"Look, I understand that it must have been confusing and real-like. But Mr. Jyri is nothing more than a Human, clueless of time travelers, espers and such. So trust me when I say this; you do not need to worry."
I tried to respond, but Koizumi interrupted me. He had regained his smile, but for some reason it did not make me relieved, at all. Nevertheless I made my way inside where everyone was crammed into the kitchen eating breakfast, and may I say it was quite the hassle. Imagine a square table for around four or five people max, done? Okay now imagine ten teenagers all cramming up around the table trying to make and eat breakfast.
So yeah… Quite the hassle…
Me and Koizumi joined the utter chaos, and I managed to make myself a small sandwich, not a bountiful feast, but it's something.
Koizumi eyed Ryo very carefully, who in response shot a glare at him, and after that both of them focused onto eating.
After we had finished our eating, everyone began preparing to leave. Ryo, Daichi, Eiri & Eiji went and attached the seat back to the car.
"Told you that it would go back."
"Yeah… Well I'll be heading home."
Daichi said, as he patted Ryo on the back and continued.
"Good luck."
After which he left quite quickly, barely anyone managed to respond. Keigo yawned, after he had err…. Refreshed himself.
"See you tomorrow then."
After that he and the twins took off to walk down the street. Ayame gave a kiss onto Ryo's cheek and ran after the others. Haruhi and Miss. Tsuruya suddenly had the biggest grins I've ever seen, and my younger sister was giggling, but Miss. Asahina had a rather, concerned… No, a worried smile on her face.
"I'll never be hearing the end of that will I?"
Ryo said with a rather, worried, tone. To which Haruhi responded with a giggle.
"Nope."
"Great… Great…"
Ryo responded, he gave a sigh before he continued.
"Well, I've got to clean the place and then I'll be enjoying my last day of freedom if I am to become a student once more."
That hint was clear enough for Haruhi apparently. Surprisingly enough, she could not stop grinning as she responded.
"Alright, Brigade! You are dismissed! Ryo needs to prepare for a date!"
Miss. Tsuruya burst to laughter and was having trouble walking as we made our way down the street, opposite direction where the others went. Ryo gave off a fake laugh as he managed to respond.
"Hehe…Yeah…"
As we walked and idly chit-chatted, I can't help but to get the feeling that even though relatively little has happened, there's still so much that's been told.
Soon enough we departed and I took my sister back home, but before I could event sit down I could hear the doorbell ring. As I went to open it, I found Miss. Asahina standing there.
"Um… Can, can we talk?"
She said in her lovely tone, and I apparently had either nodded or said yes without knowing, because she smiled and continued.
"Would you like to go to the café?"
This time I knew that I nodded, almost too enthusiastically, but she did not seem to mind as she smiled. We then made our way to the café where we sat and ordered our drinks.
"Is something wrong?"
I asked, Miss. Asahina is looking quite worried as she peered up at me and spoke in that soft tone of hers.
"Well, you see. I was contacted by my superiors and they believe something is endangering the future."
"What?"
I asked, something is endangering the future? Wouldn't that mean that if they succeed Miss. Asahina'll be gone for good? No, no I can't let that happen to someone so beautiful… Well not that I can do much but I will do everything I can… Oh boy now I sound like a hero about to save mankind…
Miss. Asahina looked at me as she stuttered.
"There's a chance that classified information is classified information to classified information you or classified information because of the chance that Ms. Suzumiya'll classified information."
"Eeh…"
Is all I managed to get out, please Miss. Asahina, I know you have your restrictions but if you wish to warn or inform me you must be more descriptive.
"Umm, what is all you can say without stressing yourself?"
I asked, faking a smile to encourage her, which apparently worked since she spoke once more.
"Well, it's possible that it's because of Espers who're involved with a time traveler who has... Gone rogue."
I raised my eye brow, I've heard the opinions of both Miss. Asahina and Koizumi, and I know that their "factions" are not in good terms.
"You mean because of Koizumi and his Agency?"
"Oh- No! I mean that uh. While it can't be Koizumi uh… Uh.."
I gave off a sigh, now I am not dumb, I can connect the pieces together, I spoke.
"Do you mean that there could be another group of Espers that are trying to make the abnormal closed space swallow the town?"
Miss. Asahina looked at me slightly confused, might be the first time she heard about the closed space.
"Might be… But what I know for sure is classified information."
"Alright… Well do you know who this rogue traveler is, and why he or she went rogue?"
"Well… From what I know classified information went missing classified information weeks ago…"
That was… Not all that helpful…
"Well, whatever the cause might be, I'll be sure to help anyway I can."
I said with a smile, I mean how could I not offer my help to someone as beautiful as Miss. Asahina?
"Really?"
She said enthusiastically, and she gave out the sweetest smile while hugging me. This moment, could very well be the most pleasant moment I've had this weekend. Although the moment ended on the second I looked at the clock mounted above the window. The clock was quarter past one in the afternoon, but through the window I could see the glare of a very, very angered girl.
It was Haruhi.
And she just looked at me, straight in the eyes.
"Oh-!"
I could hear Mikuru say, as she went back to her seat and looked at Haruhi in fear. Haruhi just glared at Miss. Asahina, and she then turned to face me, her glare was truly a fearful sight. I could see her wanting to kill me on the spot… She just turned around and walked away without a word.
After a small moment of silence, Miss. Asahina looked at me with a worried expression, she then spoke.
"I, uh… Think that we should not anger Ms. Suzumiya, so…"
She did not finish her sentence, as she took off in haste. Damn it Haruhi! Why are you ruining the one date I have with the most beautiful girl on North High by showing up!? It irritates me…
Well I had no use staying in the café, so I paid the bill and headed home, and to my surprise, Koizumi did not make an appearance on my trip.
I just laid on my bed, my mind is filled with irritation, fear and concern. Because of Haruhi's frustration, the closed space is ever-growing, and no doubt it just grew a lot more… Because of Haruhi I could not spend more time with Miss. Asahina, because of Haruhi, we now have a dangerous esper in our group.
No, I do not believe Koizumi even if you do. Ryo cannot be a Human. It is not possible.
To top that there is a chance that the closed space will swallow the town today… Or in five days, it's Sunday today so that's one day less one way or another.
Just. Why me? Why in god's very name, that happens to be Haruhi Suzumiya, was I the chosen one? Makes me pissed…
I could hear someone knocking on the door, and soon enough I heard my little sister shout.
"Kyon's your friend's in here!"
I swear to god if it's Koizumi… Would make sense, but still it's soon six in the evening. I went down, and there was a person I least expected, Nagato.
"There is something we must discuss of."
She said in her monotone voice, I took a quick glance behind to make sure no little girl was eavesdropping on us, luckily there was none.
"If you're going to tell about evil Espers and time travelers wanting to do something bad you're too late."
"I am aware that you know of the situation. However there is something else you should know about."
I raised my eyebrow, as Nagato continued talking.
"Itsuki Koizumi among other espers have been trapped into the closed space, and are incapable of exiting through normal methods."
What?! Koizumi's trapped in a closed space?!
"Can't he like, destroy the celestials and be done with it?"
I asked hesitantly, things are bad I can sense that.
"Through normal methods yes, but it has been established that this closed space is abnormal, as it is ever-growing, and now traps those who enter. The Data Integration Thought Entity believes that this new ability of the closed space is because of Haruhi Suzumiya's sudden frustration, and that the closed space is closer to achieving the point where it'll begin to manipulate the current universe."
Nagato said without even flinching, usual to her, before I could say anything she continued.
"The hostile Esper however, has not entered the closed space after today morning at 03:27."
"Wait, I thought there were other Espers, and what about the time traveler?"
Nagato stared me to the eyes, as she then spoke once more.
"The information given to Mikuru Asahina is flawed and speculated. There is only an Esper."
Now I'm interested, I came outside and closed the door behind me, just in case. Then I asked.
"But Miss. Asahina told me that there is a time traveler involved, why is that?"
"Mikuru Asahina's superiors are not aware as to why the Esper has been capable of gaining information from the future, and speculated that a the missing time traveler is the reason"
"So the Esper has the ability to time travel?"
Nagato looked at me for a moment in silence, now I can't read her poker face all that well, but I swear it gives me the feeling as if she's disappointed to what I said.
"Incorrect, the Esper has acquired a TPDD and used it in order to gain information."
"Oh, that makes sense I guess."
A small silence emerged after that, before I then continued.
"So, why did I need to hear this?"
"I was under the assumption that you wish to know more of the matter at hand, amongst with the disappearance of Itsuki Koizumi."
Oh, she was acting individually instead of following orders… Well that's nice, she's becoming more independent. And I should probably try to focus.
"Yeah I really needed some info, thanks."
I responded with a smile, as she gave a nod and walked off. I myself went inside and into my room, where I spent the evening before going to bed.
