This chapter was a lot of fun to write about. While it's been serious for a while, to celebrate reaching a hundred pages and over fifty thousand words (it's sort of a big deal for me because I've only written about two other stories this long before), I thought that after I finished with the very serious part of this, I would add in a fluffy one-shot of Jenny and Alucard's weekend. Please enjoy!

Torture and "Hot Dates"

"Sir Integra! How good it is to see you! How are your wounds?"

Integra smiled. "They are healing: slowly but surely. It still miffs me that they would have allowed me to live, but I suppose it is fortunate enough. But I did not come to visit you simply for a checkup even though I do have something planned for this evening."

The doctor arched an eyebrow. "Oh? The Iron Maiden has a hot date tonight?"

Integra laughed. "No, nothing like that. In fact, my dining partner is a female- an old friend of mine. But now is not the time for idle conversation. Tell me, what news did the venom give you? Are we dealing with artificial vampires, Doctor Trevelyan?"

The old man shook his head and frowned, rubbing his chin. "Surprisingly, that is not the case. It seems they acted of their own free will. It's a miracle that I was able to wash the toxins out of you on time: regular vampires have a much more potent sting. There was nothing irregular about the venom."

The woman pondered this as she paced the office. "So they were regular vampires, then. Seeing as they are usually very solitary creatures, it's a wonder at all that they were grouped together as they were. The only vampires that I've known to work together would be Alucard, Seras, and those Millennium vampires who were manufactured. I suppose it's becoming less unordinary each coming year," she mused as she puffed on her cigar, much to the chagrin of her poor doctor, who flinched at the smoke. Normally that wasn't allowed in a hospital, but this was Integra's personal nursing room, meaning that she alone could get away with it.

"I do wonder then," she continued, still lost in her thoughts. "What could possibly convince these vampires to work together?"

"I must confess, gentlemen, that I love my job," said a woman with ashen skin and haggard white hair.

On the floor not fifteen feet away was a sight that would have made a seasoned warrior piss himself. A feral vampire jolted against burning silver shackles, its wrist charred nearly to the bone. It was a middle-aged man with a few stray gray hairs. And at the moment, he was snapping, growling, and hissing at the witch in front of him. "You bitch," he roared as he lurched against his restraints. "What the hell are you doing to me?" he demanded.

The witch laughed. Rather than answer, she quite literally beat him with her casting stick, making him utter out a string of profanities. "Come on, go all out! Attack me! I'm sure if you tried hard enough you could do it!"

With another deafening roar, the vampire's eyes glowed a bright crimson. "I'LL KILL YOU!" he screamed as his thrashing became even worse. He had already dislocated both his arms and hands and was pounding and scraping on the uncompromising floor so much that his heels had become raw and bloodied.

"Perfect," the witch purred as her staff began to glow.

The vampire let out a pained yowl for a long while as a searing pain burned his back just between his shoulder blades. And then… silence.

"Now you're mine."

The look on the faces of the three other vampires in the room was of complete and utter pain. They had been in that position themselves not so long ago.

"Now stand up and face me," the witch said.

And his red eyes, now dulled and devoid of any fire they had previously held, blinked owlishly at her as his limbs obeyed her command. "Yesssss Masterrrr…"

The witch laughed. "Yes. I really, really love my job."

"Veronica," said the eldest of the vampires, a man with kind wrinkles around his eyes- eyes that were now filled with sadness and emptiness. "My master… don't you think that you're a bit rough on the new ones? I mean, isn't there any other way to put the seals on?"

Veronica sneered and turned to him. "For this to work, the vampire has to lose his last remnants of control. That was how Van Helsing did it, that is how my master did it, and that is how I do it. That is how you control every level of the seals that bind them. Provoking the vampire is the most efficient and amusing way to get the job done."

The elderly vampire nodded slowly, casting a glance to the risen vampire who looked to be in a blissful trance. The shackled vampire didn't even notice the burning around his wrists even though the sizzling of its flesh could be heard echoing throughout the room. He flinched and unconsciously rubbed his own wrists.

"That's how you plan to control that Hellsing pet- Alucard- isn't it?"

Veronica cackled and patted him on the head. "Yes, dearie," she crooned, "That is how I will control Dracula."

The weekend finally came. After a snooze-worthy lesson with Sir Integra, Jenny was finally free to see her father down in the basement area. Because she was feeling charitable, she was also bringing with her a packet of blood. And also a flashlight, because she still had no idea where the light switch in the basement was.

Once she came down into the basement around seven that evening, she realized that the blood she brought was completely useless.

There he sat upon his throne, asleep, surrounded by dozens of packets of medical blood. Jenny grimaced at the very macabre sight, especially perturbed by the innocent look upon his face as he dozed. He looked so serene and at peace in that moment, as if when he escaped into his world of slumber, he escaped the knowledge of his own darkness. She paused there a moment to wonder at the sight of him before gathering up enough courage to poke him in the face.

One crimson eye opened irritably to glare at her before he blinked in recognition. Jenny scoffed. "Oh, I see how it is. You wake up easily now that you're at home, and yet you nearly blow my brains out when I wake you up in the U.S.A.? I am offended, good sir!"

Alucard yawned widely, exposing his bright and terrifying teeth, and stretched in a very cat-like manner. "What are you blathering about?" he groaned, swatting her flashlight away from his face. Jenny would have been irritated had the lanterns on the walls not instantly flickered on.

Jenny rolled her eyes. "I still can't decide if you're just not a morning person or if you're just not a life person. I'm beginning to suspect the latter, but it's too soon to tell."

He lazily got up from his spot and cracked his neck a few times. "I'm dead if that's any hint," he muttered as he made his way across the room and up the staircase. Jenny blinked a few times before following after him.

"So where are we going?" she asked.

Alucard smirked at her, a look of pure glee. A look that made her pause in suspicion. "Why, we're going to a restaurant," he purred as he kept on walking ahead, his attire changing right before her eyes. The crimson suit and hat that usually adorned his figure melted away in the form of a very classy black ensemble. Even his hair straightened out, his long ebony hair parted neatly.

Jenny narrowed her eyes at him. "Uh-huh. Sorry, but I don't take you as the sort of person who would want to go to a restaurant just for the heck of it. Who are we spying on?"

He arched an eyebrow and gave her an approving grin. "Well, I had overheard the Police Girl talking about Master heading down to a very classy and- dare I say it- romantic place. We're going to be seeing just what kind of person she will be attending with."

She sighed and placed a hand on her forehead. "Seriously? I don't get to see you in a week, and this is how we're going to be spending a Saturday night- spying on Sir Integra?" He gave her nothing but a raised eyebrow. She shrugged. "All right, it's not like I've got anything better to do. Just hook me up with some high-class British cuisine, and I'm sold."

"That's my girl," Alucard praised condescendingly and Jenny snorted.

"Give me a minute to get all primped up. No offense, but Integra wants me to wear this stuffy suit every day, and I'd prefer to breathe a little bit." He chuckled a bit and waved his hand.

"I'll meet you by the front door. If you take too long, I'm leaving without you," he threatened.

Jenny laughed in response. "Yeah, and do what? Go to a classy restaurant like that all alone? That would be hilarious!"

Her laughter echoed down the hallway as he glared after her. Sighing in defeat, he moved to where he said he would go.

"Ho-ly shit," Jenny gasped, her jaw dropping open like a fish out of water. Her hands started shaking as she beheld the most beautiful car in the whole world: a polished black Lamborghini. "My baby," she sobbed as she fell to her knees before it and bowed down very dramatically. "My baby, my baby, MY BABY!"

She let out a yelp as a hand smacked the back of her head. "Language," Alucard snapped as he moved quickly into the driver's seat. "Hurry up. Integra is already on her way there."

"Uh… you know, I never thought about this before, but… you can drive, right?" Jenny asked as she slowly settled herself into the passenger's seat.

Alucard rolled his eyes. "Tch. You don't live as long as I have without learning how to drive a simple car. Actually, I consider myself a very proficient driver."

As soon as the garage door began to open, without using any keys to start the ignition, the sleek and beautiful and perfect—ahem, the car started up. Oh, Jenny groaned, the way it purred. But then she slowly turned to look at Alucard, whose lips and peeled back in a nightmarish grin, his red eyes positively gleaming with crazy mischief, and she slowly put her hands to the sides of her seat. Which was a good idea, because about three seconds later, they were peeling out of the driveway going exactly sixty miles per hour.

Jenny had only screamed in fear two times in her life. One had been when she was getting rid of a black widow's nest that had formed in the corner of her orphanage room and an egg sack cracked open and hundreds of little black venomous demons popped out. The second was when she was nearly eaten by ghouls during her trip through America with her father.

She didn't stop screaming every five minutes of the hour they spent driving in that car.

When they finally reached the place, Alucard looked like he had seen nirvana while Jenny looked like she was about to ruin her britches. As soon as that car stopped, she shakily opened her passenger window and caught sight of herself on the side of the door's window. She still looked decent for the night out, but her skin was noticeably three shades paler and her entire body was trembling.

Alucard, oblivious to all this, grinned at the restaurant in amusement. "I think I did well," he said proudly. "It's just like playing Grand Theft Auto."

Slowly, his daughter turned to him, absolutely mortified. "But… with real, breakable people," she said quietly.

He furrowed his eyebrows, confused. "Yeah…" he said slowly.

Uh oh, he thought a he observed her expression. It's that eye-twitching thing she gave me the night she had to pay for the hotel room. This isn't good.

"Dad," she said, this time even quieter before. But he could still hear her. "Since I'm on my best behavior, I'm not going to cause a scene. But next time, not to insult you, but… let me drive the car."

Alucard frowned. "But I drove exactly as I would play the video game."

THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM! She wanted to scream at him. She really, really did. "Is by playing that game the only way you learned how to drive?"

He nodded. "I was enslaved shortly after the first cars came out. When the Police Girl brought that lovely X-machine home with her and played with it, she showed me how. That is where I learned the basics."

Jenny wanted to place her hand over her face and never let go. Irritably, she ran her fingers through her hair and breathed deeply. She had actual experience driving before despite her age. Although she didn't quite trust herself driving such an expensive car, she sure as hell wasn't about to let her inexperienced father drive any more. While she was sure he wasn't going to let anything hurt her (as he had superpowers), she really didn't want to have to endure that again.

She sighed. "It's called an Xbox. Playing a video game does not entitle you to driving a car. You don't try to race, cut off, or run over other people. Now let's just get inside, all right?"

Alucard rolled his eyes and led the way in. "Table for two?" asked a springy waitress.

Jenny smiled pleasantly. "Yes, please."

As they were being led over, Alucard nudged her arm and made a gesture with his head towards a table just on the far side of the restaurant towards the window. Jenny grinned as she saw what he was nodding towards. There sat Sir Integra, still wearing one of her suits. The grin soon fell off, however, as soon as she saw who she was sitting across from.

"D-D-D-Dad? I-Is that who I th-think it is?!"

Alucard nodded slowly, an appraising look in his gleaming eyes. "I never knew they swung that way. That would explain why my charms never worked on her."

Jenny spared him a sideways glance, deadpanning. "Uh-huh." She quickly looked back to the couple by the window.

Sir Integra's date for the night was none other than Seras Victoria.

"Pip's going to be mad when he finds out," Jenny muttered.

Alucard grinned at her. "I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think he would be absolutely ecstatic."

They both took their seats and distractedly ordered their foods. Jenny ordered a fancy Italian cuisine that was on the top-featured list. Alucard simply ordered a steak. Looking the waitress in the eye, he made it very clear just how rare he wanted it. She was trembling as she made her way to the kitchen. He seemed to have that effect on everyone.

Jenny leaned forward and nibbled on her piece of bread while they waited. "Okay, can you hear them?"

He nodded towards her. "They're saying something about… getting time away from the men? Oh my. Integra just said that her office had been stuffy as of late and needed a stress relief. Seras just asked her if she wanted to do anything after they ate to help her out with that. Oh… wow…" he breathed as he watched the two girls laughing across from them. Integra leaned forward and tapped Seras's arm as they laughed. "She said that Pip's a handful."

Jenny's eyes bugged out of their sockets. "So many sexual innuendos," she gasped. "They're so dirty! Why didn't we notice this before?"

Alucard shook his head dumbly. "I don't know, but it's getting very warm in here."

She reeled back with a grimace. "Gross!" she whispered. "Ew, you like that?"

He just shrugged in response and continued listening intently. They continued watching for a few more minutes. Their food was soon brought out. However, because of the state of Alucard's dish (blood was literally dripping off it) Seras's head turned towards it.

"Crap!" Jenny yelped as he grabbed her father and turned him so that they were both hiding their faces "Did they see us?" she asked him.

"I don't know," Alucard said. They both slowly turned around and Jenny shrieked when they saw Seras's enraged face not a foot away.

"Yes. I did."

Integra took some time and eventually walked over as well, crossing her arms. "How long have you two been spying on us?"

Jenny got a bout of courage. "Long enough to know you two are dating and you didn't tell me! I totally ship it! Why didn't you let me know, Seras? I thought I was your friend!"

Seras deadpanned and Integra looked amused. "That's because we aren't dating," the heiress answered.

"What?" both spies asked with varying levels of disappointment. If it meant anything, Alucard looked heartbroken.

"We aren't dating," Seras huffed. "After Integra's awakening, I thought she could use a break away from all the paperwork in the office and suggested we eat some classy food and drink a lot of wine to forget about life for a while. That's why we didn't invite you, Jenny: we wanted to get drunk."

Jenny took a few seconds to process this.

"Ohhhhhh…."
