Karkat P.O.V.
My eyes shot open and stared blankly at the ceiling. Another bad dream. I sighed heavily, sitting up and rubbing my weary eyes. Swiftly getting out of bed, I decided to make my way down to the kitchen to get a glass of water. On my way, I heard weeping from Nepeta's room. I pressed my face softly to Nepeta's door, hearing mumbling and more crying. The door made a small creek as I opened it to see if she was okay.
Nepeta was sitting in her bed, her hands covering her face. She must have heard the door creek because once it was cracked open her head snapped towards the door. Her cheeks and eyes were red from crying, along with some tear marks on her cheeks. She sniffled as she stared at me, as if asking, "Why are you here?" or "What did you need?"
I stood there, staring back into those bloodshot eyes. The moon light that peeked slightly through her curtains making her illuminate and become the most memorizing thing in the room. Even with her tear stained face, her trembling lip, her red cheeks, she managed to look as beautiful as ever.
Slowly walking into the room, the door clicked lightly behind me. As soon as the door closed Nepeta leaped from her bed and hugged me tightly. I held onto her tightly and she began to cry into my chest. I held her a bit tighter, as tear began to roll slowly down my cheeks.
"Nepeta... I... I'm so sorry.." I said with a whisper.
Nepeta pulled away and shook her head. "I-it's okay.." her voice shook uncontrollably and tears spilled from her eyes rapidly.
After a while of embracing each other, I kissed her on her forehead as she led me to her bed. We did nothing but sleep and hold each other tightly. But all that night, I couldn't help but wonder what would happen next.
