"Whoa!" Felicity gasped as she walked into the foundry, heels clacking on the concrete floor. "What happened in here?"
Oliver's jaw set and his nostrils flared as he fought hard to keep control; the mess she had been referring to was the pile of plastic and tin containers strewn across the floor. "Nothing."
"You're lying." She pulled her glasses from her purse and pushed them up her nose, glaring at him. "Did you get into a fight with Digg? Or Laurel?"
"No, Felicity." He turned away from her, setting his knuckles on the table in front of him.
"Then what?"
"Just let it go." Closing his eyes and dropping his head, Oliver tried to steady his breathing.
"No." Felicity stepped up behind him and set her purse on the table. "What's going on?"
"Drop it!" He snapped and moved away from her while the tone of his voice went low and dark.
"Don't use the Arrow voice on me." She warned with a huff. "What the hell is your problem, Oliver?"
His eyes raked over her, clenching his fist at the tight blue dress she wore. "Go home, Felicity."
"Are you kidding me right now?" Felicity scoffed, putting her hands on her hips. "How many times has that worked, Oliver? Tell me, how many times have you pushed me away and it ended successfully?"
"Apparently, this time it worked." He said through clenched teeth; he'd been trying to hold back, but the last time he denied being jealous, it didn't end too well.
"I'm sorry?"
"How was your date with Palmer? Oh, wait." He almost laughed with sarcasm. "I don't need to ask, do I? I can see it went well."
"What on Earth are you even talking about?!" She didn't understand where this was coming from or what he was upset about; Oliver wasn't the type to just blurt out how he felt, he was far from it.
"You kissed him, Felicity!" Oliver seethed and took a step closer, overshadowing her.
"I wha…You…I can't believe…Ugh!" Felicity couldn't even form a sentence, which was not usually hard for her. "How would you know that I kissed him?! Have you been following me?!"
"I just…" He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't make up for what you just said, Oliver Queen. Now answer my question."
"No, I didn't follow you." He admitted, "I went to find you at Queen Consolidated and I walked in on your guys'…private moment."
"Is that right?" She glared up at him, crossing her arms. "What the hell were you thinking?"
"I…" Oliver clenched his teeth, closing his eyes and drawing in a deep breath. "I was going to talk to you about the stuff I said to Carrie."
"Oliver," She put a hand on his arm and sighed, "we can't…worry…about that. You said what you had to, it has nothing to do with us."
"It has everything to do with us, Felicity!" He wrenched away from her. "I want you to understand that everything I said to her was real, Felicity, everything I told her was the truth."
"Don't do this now, please?" Felicity pleaded, grabbing her purse and beginning to walk out.
"I said I loved you, Felicity." He stopped her in her tracks. "Being gone as long as I have, enduring what I did, it is very hard for me to express my feelings, let alone for me to say I love someone that wasn't my mother or Thea. Felicity, I just…it's hard for me to watch you be with someone else."
"You're joking." She assumed, feeling the tears well up but she was determined to keep them from falling. "Let me tell you something, Oliver." Felicity stepped closer. "I respected your decision to be with Sara, I respected your decision to let her bring Nyssa and the League of Assassins down here, I respected that you felt a little threatened by Barry because you didn't understand what you were feeling, I have respected every. Single. Decision. You have made, unless it meant giving up on yourself! So, I'm asking you to respect my decision to be with Ray."
"I just want you to be happy." Oliver's eyes softened as he realized she was on the verge of breaking down. "But I just don't think…you'll find it with him."
"You are the epitome of hypocrisy right now, Oliver!" She threw her hands in the air in frustration. "You think you have any right to judge who I choose to date?! I never once said anything about how much of an epic failure your relationship with Sara was from the start! I stayed and kept my mouth shut about how I felt about you, and you think you get to try and come between me and my chance at something more in my life?"
He wanted to reach out and wipe the tears that leaked through and ran down her cheeks, but he was pretty sure it wouldn't help the situation.
"You said you chose a life where you didn't believe you could have a future." Felicity's bottom lip trembled. "You said it only ends one way, so you'll have to excuse me if I'm choosing to try and have a future, Oliver. I love you." She cupped his face and brought their foreheads together. "I believe in you so much, but I can't sit here and watch you just decide to not be happy. I want you to be happy, Oliver, and I want you to be happy with me, but you can't honestly expect me throw a chance at happiness away because you haven't figured out if you can be Oliver Queen and the Arrow. I can't wait forever. Ray Palmer knows what he wants and he goes for it…" She let go of his face and took a step away. "Can you say the same?"
"No." He breathed. "I can't. When I came back to Starling City, I was only sure of one thing…the people on that list my father gave me had to go down. But then I met you, Felicity, and you just…turned my world upside down. I thought the only way to get things done was to kill, but you showed me a different way, a better way. When you came into my life, Felicity, I wasn't sure of anything anymore…and then there you were…patching me up after I'd been shot and I knew…I had to keep you safe at any cost. I realize it took me too long to say how I felt and I know that it's unfair to you now, Felicity, but I can't help it. If I don't tell you how I feel, I'll just push you away and that will only hurt you more. Please don't go back to Ray. Please don't slip away from me. Please…don't give up on me." His hands came up to skim the collar of her throat and cup her cheeks, pulling her forward to capture her lips.
Felicity swore that she wouldn't let Oliver stop her from being with Ray, but this was the second time they kissed and it was every bit as wonderful as the first. Her fingers latched around his wrists as she struggled to get closer, shivering as he nibbled gently on her bottom lip.
Oliver let his hands wander down to her shoulders to lace their fingers together and pull her flush against him while locking her hands behind her back. Releasing one hand, his fingers tangled into her hair and tugged on the band holding everything together.
Her hair fell in waves around her shoulders and she almost laughed when she felt his hand roaming her back to find the zipper to her dress. She pulled away from their kiss as breathing became a problem, gently nudging his chin with her nose. "Not here. Digg and Roy could walk in any second."
"Too late." A voice accompanied with an audible, annoyed gag had Felicity spinning on her heels to face it. Roy screwed his face up in a playful grimace as Diggle came in with a smirk.
"Hi." She laughed nervously and tried to shift from one foot to the other; while she had spun to face her friends, Oliver's hold never wavered and he now had his hands clasped firmly on her waist, keeping her close.
"Don't mind us." Diggle barely contained a fit of laughter. "We were just coming down to see if Oliver wanted to join us for dinner at my place. Lyla made a late dinner and we'd be happy to have you guys along."
"I'd love to." Felicity beamed, finally stepping out of Oliver's embrace. "I just need to change."
"Why?" Roy asked, teasing. "You look Smoakin' hot. Pun intended."
"Watch yourself, Harper." Oliver cast a possessive look over Felicity before glaring at Roy.
"Only joking." Roy raised his hands in defense before dropping them and stuffing them in his pockets. "Now can we get going? I'm starving."
"Go ahead." Oliver watched Felicity step out of her heels and pull off her earrings. "We'll catch up."
"But-." Roy began to argue before Diggle clamped a hand over his mouth and dragged him outside.
"They didn't wait?" Felicity asked and stepped up beside him, squealing when he lifted her up and set her on the empty table and kiss her heatedly.
Meh. I don't know if I like it =/
Much love,
