A/N: Hi! I'm back! Yes, I know that it's been a VERY long time. Thanks to sabrina-luna-potter and the unregistered wolf animagus for reviewing, JennyTodorova, TheAntelopeOwl, JinxSaw and the unregistered wolf animagus for following, and TheAntelopeOwl, JinxSaw and the unregistered wolf animagus for favouriting. Anyway, here's the new chapter!
Scorpius sat amongst a pile of books, chewing his quill furiously. He was trying to revise, but was desperately wishing he had listened to Binns' classes like Al and Rose. He had only passed the last homework assignment by copying Al's notes, and even then had only achieved an Acceptable. Scorpius hated studying, and in his opinion, the teachers could stuff the End of Year Exams. Gazing at his messy scrawl of copied-up History of Magic notes, his words on the page got more jumbled up, as the page was covered in ink smudges. He started to decipher his second paragraph, but only discovered that the entire chapter was transcribed as illegible scribbles. Scorpius hit his head with his hand. Maybe he would ask George Weasley if he could have a Skiving Snackbox, so he could feign he wouldn't have to do the stupid exams.
"Hey, hey," said Al's voice from behind him. "Whatcha doing?"
Scorpius gestured towards his notes and hid his head in his hands. Al lifted up Scorpius's head and glanced at the notes. He shook his head and slid another piece of paper towards Scorpius.
'Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps...'
It was Al's (legible) notes. Scorpius stood up and hugged him, causing Al to fumble with the books he had found from the shelves around them. Consequently, the heavy books landed on their feet, causing the pair to hop around in pain, swearing.
"POTTER! MALFOY!" yelled Madam Pince's voice. "WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT MAKING EXCESSIVE SOUND AND SWEARING!? THIS IS A LIBRARY SO STOP MAKING SO MUCH NOISE AND STUDY! THIS IS YOUR FIRST WARNING!"
The two boys silently gathered up the books. Scorpius grumbled, "She can talk about making noise."
"Sarcasm?" Al guessed.
"You think?!" Scorpius turned one of the covers over and read, "Dragon Breeds - A Study of Dragons, their Natural Habitats, Mating and Descriptions, Al what the heck?! What the heck is this?" he whispered.
Al snatched the books back and hissed, "It looked interesting! I might show it to Charlie later"
Scorpius grabbed the book back and weighed it in his hand. "Light reading?!" he muttered sarcastically. He dropped it on the table on top of the growing pile of books.
Al nodded enthusiastically.
"Al, every time I say something do I have to hold up a sarcasm sign?" Scorpius mumbled, sitting back down
"Er.."
Scorpius shook his head in defeat and opened his Potions book. He jumped when he heard Al's voice again, "You have a sarcasm sign?"
Scorpius sighed. "No, I do not have a sarcasm sign"
"Pity"
They worked in silence for a bit, until Rose appeared from behind the one of the other aisles of books and sat in between them. She peered at Al's work, and at the jumbled pile of books next to him. "Nice organisation, cousin"
Al smiled, "Thank you!" he said proudly. Scorpius sighed, and held up a hand-written sign reading 'Sarcasm'
"Oh!" Al continued sheepishly. Rose glanced behind her, just before Scorpius took down the piece of paper. Rose shook her head, "Boys", stood up and walked away. The two sniggered, but stopped as Zacharias Smith came over to them.
"Malfoy, Potter" he sneered.
"Shove off, Smith" Al said irritably.
"Oh, 'Shove off, Smith' " mimicked Smith. He leaned over to Scorpius and grabbed one of the books. Looking at his notes, he smirked and closed it.
"Give. It. Back." Scorpius said slowly.
Smith grinned and held the DADA book out of his reach. Scorpius started to stand up, annoyed, but Al's hand on his shoulder and his voice "Sit down" made him, well, sit down.
"Smith, will you just give Scorpius his book back and go back to studying?! We all have exams soon and," Al lowered his voice to a whisper, "stop pis - " ("Madam Pince!" hissed Scorpius warningly) "- er.. annoying us! "
"Make me."
Scorpius bought out his wand. "Smith, if you don't give me my book back, I will hex you."
Smith leered, "Oh, you will, will you?"
Scorpius merely raised his eyebrows expectantly. Smith took a glance over his shoulder and held Scorpius's book higher.
"Petrificus Totalus!" yelled Scorpius. Smith, too shocked to react, crashed into the opposite bookshelf. There was a loud crashing noise and books tumbled down around him. The bookcase crashed over and as Smith stared up at them, unmoving from the floor, Al went and retrieved Scorpius's book.
"What did you do?" Al sighed
"Full - Body - Bind" Scorpius muttered.
"POTTER! MALFOY!" Madam Pince yelled again. "MY OFFICE, NOW!"
"You should of used Accio" grumbled Al to Scorpius, who shrugged and led the way out of the library.

"NEVER! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAS THIS HAPPENED! HEXING A FELLOW STUDENT AND RUINING MY LIBRARY! HAVE YOU GOT ANYTHING TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?!" yelled Madam Pince. The two boys sat next to each other in her office, opposite her. She was furious.
"He - he was being a idiot" mumbled Scorpius. Al kicked him under the table.
"We didn't really do anything, Madam Pince," continued Al. "It was his fault, he stole Scorpius's book, and wouldn't give it back, so he -" Al indicated Scorpius " - hexed him. We didn't know he'd
crash into the bookshelf. So - "
"And why," asked Madam Pince, calming down, "didn't you just Summon the book from him?"
Al shot a look at Scorpius, who shuffled his feet nervously. He started to reply, but as the fireplace roared into life, he stopped. Professor McGonagall stepped out, in fact quite imposingly.
"Irma, what happened to those Transfiguration books that I ordered? I hope they haven't got lost again like the last lot, I.." She trailed off, as she saw Scorpius and Al sitting shiftily in front of the desk. "And what," she sighed, "have you two been up to now?"
"Well.." Scorpius began
"It was his fault" interrupted Al
"Mine?!"
"Your wand"
"It was Smith's fault"
"Mostly his fault"
"All his fault"
"Yeah."
"Wait, what?"
"I don't know"
"So, basically, Professor-"
"Potter.. Malfoy.." sighed Professor McGonagall. "Just stop"
The boys immediately stopped arguing, and waited silently for Professor McGonagall's punishment. She had probably seen the mess in the library as she walked by, so knew what was going on. Probably. She was most likely going to give them a detention or something, or help Filch tidy the library.
So, it came as a bit of a surprise when she said;
"I don't want to hear it."
Scorpius and Al looked at each other, confused.
"I'm not even going to give you detention. Just go study. Maybe tidy some books up, but I hope you won't do anything like that again. Hexing Zacharius Smith, of all students. His father would come storming up here if you had done any proper hexes.
"To make matters worse, both his parents are high up in the Ministry! So, to make sure they don't come storming up here, claiming you hurt their son and went unpunished, I'm going to take five points from Gryffindor, each."
The two boys looked at each other in relief. They had expected something worse - detention would be horrible added to all the revision they had to do.
Madam Pince stepped forward, trying to hide a scowl. "Headmistress, with all respect, I must ask you to rethink this. These boys have caused considerable damage to the school's library and to many priceless books. They deserve at least some house points taken or a detention."
Professor McGonagall sighed. "Irma... We have spent the past 15 minutes discussing this. I'm sure the boys will help tidy the library after. I'm sure the library won't have any lasting damage."
Madam Pince scowled, and started to say something. Professor McGonagall sighed again. It was a choice of upsetting one of the oldest members of staff, or making her house lose some house points. "Very well. Potter, Malfoy. Fifteen points shall be taken from Gryffindor for hexing a student and - " Here Professor McGonagall pinched the bridge of her nose in defeat " - causing damage to the school library."
Al and Scorpius glanced at each other. Professor McGonagall gestured towards the door. The two boys stood up and left the room. Before they shut the door, they heard, "Now, Irma. Those Transfiguration books...?!"

Two weeks later, the First Years silently walked into the Great Hall. The House tables had been replaced with row upon row of desks. Scorpius sat down in the middle of the hall, and looked at the exam paper in front of him. He started to write his name, but discovered he was shaking so badly he couldn't write.
Don't worry he thought. These exams are just to test how much you know. You've revised loads, they won't kick you out.
He looked up as Professor McGonagall said, "You may begin." A few rows back, Rose was already scribbling furiously. Al was having a go at the first question.
Feeling better with his thoughts, he turned over the History of Magic paper.
Explain briefly why wizards went into into hiding in 1687.
Scorpius smiled. He remembered reading this this morning after Al had yelled at him for 10 minutes for spilling ink over his copy of A History of Magic, then after another five minutes of calming don, asked Scorpius very nicely if they could please revise the said notes together.
Dipping his quill in ink, he carefully put the quill on the paper and began to write.

The exams had been a success. Of course, like her mother, after every exam Rose had quizzed the boys on every single question they answered (so it seemed). Gryffindor had won the Quidditch Cup after a close match with Ravenclaw, which lasted 5 hours with 2 casualties and a Snitch that just refused to be caught. Scorpius had happily declared that the exams weren't as bad as he'd anticipated ("Ha!" snorted Al, who was immediately elbowed by Rose).
Unfortunately, Zacharius Smith (Scorpius' mortal enemy, although he swore than a close second were some ducks that decided to poo on him and steal his pizza when he was 2 years old) had passed most of his exams, and had not been held back, or anything. But, luckily, Aiden had spoken to professor McGonagall about hat had happened by Hagrid's hut a couple of months beforehand, and now Smith had a term-long detention starting in September. He had also had a long talk from Professor McGonagall about Hogwarts Rules - No Bullying.
The last day of term was frantic. There was last minute packing to do, under their beds had to be cleaned (Frank had notified the others that there was so much stuff under his bed it was a wonder he hadn't lost anything!) and pets had to be ... persuaded to go back into their cages. The End-of-Year Feast was better than any of the others put together, and nothing could of made Scorpius' day even better when Fred and Roxanne Weasley both released a crate of Weasley's Wildfire Whiz-Bangs and a amused Professor McGonagall announced that Gryffindor had won the House Cup, after adding on 50 points for a 'Fabulous use of magical fireworks' to the Weasley twins. It must of been some strange occurrence that caused the siblings to look identical, even though one was in First year and the other in Third.
Anyway, there was a massive rush to get to the train after the End-of-Year Feast. The boys were delayed when Oliver realised that he had left his Firebolt 500 in Gryffindor Tower. Scorpius, Frank, Al, Aiden, Roxanne, Fred and Rose watched Oliver as he grabbed Fred's broom and kicked off - flying was quicker than walking.
10 minutes later, the train hooted and guards started slamming the doors. They saw Oliver fly back across the lake, carrying his Firebolt, and yelled words of encouragement as the train slowly started to move. Oliver jumped off his broom, and ran after the train. He wrenched open the door, and jumped inside just as the train started to gather speed. Scorpius slammed the door and waved out the window at the figures of Hagrid, Felix and Fang, until they faded into the distance, and he could not see them.

The journey back to Kings Cross was eventful. The highlight was probably when Smith and hi cronies burst in, intending to 'pay them back for what they did'. The seven weren't the least bit intimidated by smith, and after a few well-placed hexes, the intruders slunk back out of their carriage. James and Teddy both dropped in for a game of Exploding Snap, and Scorpius nearly spent the whole journey chatting to Rose about her mum's work with SPEW (Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare) and in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in "eradicating the old laws biased in favour of pure-bloods.", or complimenting Fred and Roxanne on their excellent fireworks, and asking how they did it to which they replied that George and Ron had given them a load for Christmas, and that they had no idea how they worked, so Scorpius could go and ask either of them if he wanted to know really badly, and if could he possibly buy some as well?
As the train pulled into Kings Cross, there was a loud BANG! - Shaun had managed to completely destroy the Exploding Snap cards, and was sitting in a pile of incinerated cards, his face covered n soot and his hair singed, and sticking up in all directions. However, when the train came to a screeching halt, he happily jumped up and exited the train with the rest.
Shaun, Aiden, Frank and Oliver waved a cheery goodbye and walked off to find their parents, and Al, Rose, James, Teddy and the Weasleys veered off towards a large party to the left. Scorpius looked around, and finally spotted his mum and dad, and walked over to give them both a hug. After swapping news, he led them over to the Potters. He tapped Al of his shoulder, who turned around.
"Mum, dad, this is Albus. Al, these are my parents."
"Nice to meet you." Al said nervously.
"And you." Scorpius's mum said. "I'm Astoria, and this is Draco."
"Draco?" said Harry, turning around.
Draco's expression became guarded. "Potter."
"Malfoy."
Al and Scorpius both glared at their fathers. They both looked down at their sons, and then glanced at Ginny, Hermione and Astoria who were chatting. Astoria broke away from the conversation just for a second to say, "Draco, Harry, just shake hands and be friends. This whole thing is stupid. You've both saved each other's life more than once, and both your sons are obviously best friends, so why don't you two just put aside any arguments you might of had in the past and be nice?!"
Harry glanced at Draco, who shrugged. He put out his hand and smiled. "Draco."
Draco took Harry's hand and smiled in return. "Harry."
Ron turned around. "Harry, who's this you're talking to.. Oh it's you."
Hermione glared at him.
"Weasel ... I mean ... Ron " Draco stuttered.
Ron looked startled. "Since when have you called me Ron, Malfoy?!"
Harry curtly shot a look at him.
"Oh, right! Sorry .. Draco?!"
Draco smiled in relief. The adults all immediately started talking again, and Al, Scorpius and Rose looked at each other, bewildered.
"Wow."
"Adults..."
"Anyway, what are you doing this holiday?!" Rose said. "I don't think it's possible to get any more exciting than the past year - our first year!"
"We'll see." grinned Al, quite mysteriously, tapping his nose.
Scorpius grinned. "Maybe I will, maybe I won't."
"Anyone care to tell me anything?" Rose burst out.
"No." said both
"But -"
"No."
"What about if we -"
"No."
"How about -"
"No."
"Are you two even -"
"No."
"STOP IT!"
"No."
Rose turned on her heel, and stormed back to Lily, tossing a muttered "Boys." over her shoulder.
The two sniggered. Draco tapped on Scorpius's shoulder. "Scorp, time to go. You can catch up with those to in the holiday."
"But dad, it is the holiday!"
Draco sighed, and waited for Scorpius to finish saying goodbye to Al.
"Bye, Al."
"See ya later!"
A/N: So, that was the end of First Year! I hoped you enjoyed it, and I should hopefully be updating sometime soon. I'm going to rewrite some chapters of First Year as they don't really fit with the rest of my ideas for the next few years, so watch out for those. Please review and tell me what you thought of this chapter, and what you think Scorpius, Al and Rose should get up to in the next few years! Thanks for reading!
