AN: Just wanted to thank you guys for the reviews! It really helps! Oh my Arceus you guys have no idea how much this has been on my mind lately (constantly!). And if anyone was wondering, all of the Pokemon that Professor Reeves uses are Pokemon that I personally use. I think that's all I have to say at the beginning here, so let's get to it!

Harry blinked.

Then he blinked a few more times, his mind trying to wrap around the feeling that just shook him to the core. 'Is this the true bond of a Pokemon and its trainer?' His thoughts were interrupted when Noibat fluttered back down from his head and settled on his shoulder as Harry pulled out his pokedex and began examining more about his new companion. "Dragon and flying type. And you know the moves screech, supersonic, tackle, and leech life. I wonder what Pokemon everyone else got." Harry said to Noibat, before looking around. During his meeting with the bat-like Pokemon and his pokedex scanning, he had only now registered the cacophony of noises surrounding him, from the cutest little mewls to one or two more intimidating growls. He looked to his left and saw Ron, with a small, blue Pokemon. It had a satellite antennae like structure poking of each side of its head, and no arms. But it had one huge smile. Harry walked closer to Ron and got his attention.

"Oi, Harry! This bloke is Wooper!" At this, the water fish Pokemon waddled towards Harry and let out a loud squeak, followed by a couple of bubbles. Harry leaned down and patted the top of its head.

"Hey little guy! This is my friend Noibat." Noibat perked up at this, and when Wooper looked up at her, she let out a little squeak. Wooper's response to this was opening his mouth and squirting her with a jet of water. Before Noibat could do anything, Ron intercepted them.

"Wooper! Why'd you go and do that?!" Then, turning to Harry, "I'm not sure if he's listened to a word I've said quite honestly. Sorry Harry."

"It's not a problem Ron. I guess it will take time for our Pokemon to get used to eachother." Harry said, pulling off his scarf and wrapping it around Noibat to dry her off. Then, Harry pointed behind him. "Let's go see what Pokemon Hermione has!" Ron seemed excited about this as well, and they rushed over to the final member of their trio, only to hear her speaking about things they couldn't comprehend.

"But Beldum, if the inside of a pokeball is a perfectly unique environment designed to be the best possible habitat for the Pokemon inside, that still doesn't explain how they are still conscious after being reduced to raw energy, much less being able to comprehend the virtual world that is created." The boys and their Pokemon could all be seen scratching their heads, well except Wooper, but it appeared he wasn't even listening to Hermione either. What caused Harry and Ron the most confusion, though, was that she was addressing the blue, crystalline Pokemon before her, and then nodded after a few seconds of complete silence, her eyes widening and her mouth forming a perfect O shape. "So there is a space left for genetic data, and when a Pokemon is captured, that room is now filled, and the pokeball uses the built in knowledge from the pokedex database and the Pokemon's natural preferences to build and continually enhance this fabricated world, and that's why pokeballs can't be used even while vacant! It makes so much sense now! Oh the minds behind this technology must have been incredible!" Only now did Hermione notice her friends, followed by her reaching over and stroking the…dorsal ridge? Metal growth maybe? Harry wasn't really sure, but he was more interested in the fact that she had seemingly just had a conversation with her Pokemon. "Harry, Ron, I'd like you to meet Beldum."

"Hi!" They both said in sync, not sure what to expect. Then, suddenly, they had a strange feeling. It wasn't exactly the word hi, but it was almost as if they could feel an imprint of an idea.

"Since Beldum is a part psychic type Pokemon, he has a grasp on telecommunication a lot earlier than other Pokemon. He's still pretty small, but he will get a lot better at it in time." Hermione stated, proud of her new Pokemon. Then the trio turned to see Professor Reeves observing what Pokemon they had obtained.

Dillon was extremely excited with the Pokemon he saw his students receiving. 'Fred had an Elekid and George had a Magby. Cho had an Amaura, and Neville had a Honedge.' "Well, I wonder how Neville will get used to ghosts." Dillon thought aloud. 'Harry had Noibat, Ron had Wooper, Hermione had Beldum, Ginny had Litleo, and Luna had…Who had Luna-' His thoughts were interrupted when a vicious bark tore through the air. He turned around to see Luna kneeling on the ground and holding her hand. Looking further, he noticed the furious-looking Absol growling at her. Dillon ran to Luna and knelt down as well. "Luna! Are you okay?! Let me see your hand." Dillon said as calmly as he could in such a nerve-wracking situation.

Luna held out her hand and began to speak. "I don't think it meant to Professor, I think it might be a little scared…It doesn't hurt that bad…" After looking over the decently sized cut, bleeding cut on her hand, Dillon let loose a Pokemon of his own.

"Warrior, use heal pulse." The Lucario nodded, and proceeded to heal the girl's hand. Dillon then looked at the Absol. It had backed away from them and was standing in a defensive stance, growling. Now that Dillon was closer, he could see a scar running down the length of its horn. 'Did Professor Sycamore include a Pokemon that been abused and not tell him?' Dillon thought, 'No, he must have forgotten to tell me.' Dillon then walked back to Luna and turned to Warrior. "Is her hand better?" Warrior nodded, and Dillon returned him. He then held his hand out to Luna. The Ravenclaw paused for a moment, before accepting his help and standing up. "You should return him." Luna nodded, before holding the pokeball out and returning her enraged Absol. "Luna, after all of your classes, meet me in my class and we will figure out what to do about Absol." Luna nodded, before speaking.

"Is it going to be alright?" Luna asked worriedly. Dillon was in awe of this girl's worry about her new Pokemon, even though it had just injured her. He then put his hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry Luna. I'm sure Absol will be okay." Dillon then told Luna to go to the nurse to get her hand checked, and told the rest of the class to spend time getting to know their Pokemon better. He then pulled out his new Holo-Caster. He had a call to make.
