Chapter 10: The Battle is to the Strong

Outside, Takigakure no Sato, Elemental Nations
The black cloaks adorned with red clouds. The uniform of Akatsuki. Naruto would never be able to forget that moment when he made his first encounter with the organization. Itachi Uchiha, the Clan Killer and Sasuke's older brother; and Kisame Hoshigaki, the Monster of Kiri and the Tailless Bijuu. It was pretty bad luck to come across such powerful shinobi on the way to get Tsunade to become the Godaime Hokage and Naruto was sure that if Jiraya hadn't been there, he would have most likely been beaten into a bloody pulp or died from being beaten to a bloody pulp.
Fu's eyes widened when Naruto had said the name of the organization and her head snapped in his direction. "Akatsuki?! As in the guys who are hunting down the jinchuriki, Akatsuki?!"
"What other Akatsuki do you know of, Moss Head?!" Naruto shot back, his blue eyes never leaving Kakuzu and Hidan's forms. He had only returned to the mainland from Uzushio for three days and already he was fighting the Bijuu hunters. Not to mention, the one named Kakuzu seemed to be a bounty hunter as well. One hundred million ryo for his head was not making his chances of surviving after Kurama was extracted from him, very good.
"That is true, but you gotta admit, you have a pretty high bounty for an A-Rank shinobi. One hundred million ryo is nothing to sneeze at." Kurama commented.
'I don't care! People are going after my head now because of this bounty shit!' Naruto mentally shouted. 'Do you have any idea how bad that is?!'
"This does place us in a predicament. By the way, even though this is Akatsuki and they are S-Rank nuke-nin, you need to be more wary of these two. Unlike that accursed Uchiha and the fish-looking one, these two are extremely off-putting for some reason. There is something not right about them. Keep your guard up, kit."
Naruto nodded to the Nine-Tailed Fox. 'Gotcha.' He then glanced at Fu. "Oi, Moss Head."
"What, Goldilocks?"
"These two aren't exactly normal here. Kurama sensed that there's something off about them, even by S-Rank shinobi standards. Plus, you and I both know we can't take them on by ourselves."
"You sayin' I'm weak, Goldilocks?"
"Far from it, but these are guys good enough to take down people like us. Plus, they have a Mega level Digimon with them." His eyes flickered to the SaberLeomon who was still growling from the pain and anger from where Gatomon slashed his left eye and half-blinded him. "Listen to me, we need to work together to take them down. Swallow your pride, Moss Head, and fight with someone rather than against them."
"Don't tell me what to do!"
SaberLeomon roared before leaping at the group. "Enough bickering, it's time you die!" The Mega level Digimon's claws flashed forward in an attempt to tear through both Naruto and Fu, but Dorumon and Gatomon quickly intercepted. Gatomon's own claws were raised and they interlocked with SaberLeomon's, causing sparks to fly from the friction. Dorumon then skidded between his partner's legs and pushed upwards, kicking the Mega Digimon in the chin before going into a backwards roll. A silver aura burst forth around the X-Antibody holder's body before he charged.
"Hyper Dash Metal!" The Rookie Digimon crashed into SaberLeomon's chest and the two rolled on the ground. "Tentomon, hit it!"
The Rookie insectoid Digimon's eyes blinked in surprise at suddenly being called out, but quickly understood what Dorumon was saying. Dorumon quickly went with the momentum of the roll and once he was on top, he pushed himself off of SaberLeomon's body and shot into the air. Tentomon's wings buzzed rapidly, creating friction as they rubbed together and bio-electricity formed between them.
"Super Shocker!" A bolt of gold electricity arced through the air before slamming down on SaberLeomon. The bolt of voltage coursed through SaberLeomon, but the Mega level Digimon powered through the pain and released a roar. The blue eyed feline pounced and landed on Tentomon, taking him to the ground and causing the ground to crack underneath him from the force of the impact.
"Annoying little insect!" SaberLeomon growled as he opened his jaws. Tentomon's eyes widened as the sharp fangs bore down on him, but the feline Digimon and his victim suddenly found themselves being sent through the air.
"NEKO KICK!"
"HYPER DASH METAL!"
One Rookie and one Champion Digimon slammed into the side of the Mega Digimon and both he and Tentomon were sent through the air. SaberLeomon flipped and landed on his feet while Tentomon was snatched up by Fu. However, as the green haired jinchuriki landed with her friend in hand, her orange eyes widened when a massive shadow was cast over her form.
"Doton: Domu/Earth Release: Earth Spear!" Kakuzu's dark flesh suddenly took on an even darker appearance, turning entirely pitch black. The former Taki shinobi reared back his fist and brought it down and Fu quickly jumped out of the way, but her eyes widened when she heard the loud crash and the ground cratered beneath Kakuzu's fist. The green haired jounin of Taki landed on the ground and quickly leaned back her upper body so it was parallel to the ground as Kakuzu followed after her and went for a right hook to the skull.
Fu ducked before Tentomon's wings buzzed. "Super Shocker!" A burst of electricity tore through the air towards the member of Akatsuki and Kakuzu was struck in his chest. Kakuzu grunted, a small burnt hole on his cloak and undershirt, but revealed his chest was also blackened from the usage of Doton: Domu. Fu's eyes narrowed while Tentomon was in shock, no pun intended, at seeing a human take on the strike from a Digimon. Especially one that could cause electrocution.
"You have no chakra in your attacks. Even if it is a lightning based attack, it is no Raiton jutsu." Kakuzu said before rushing forward once more. He reared back his fist and went for a punch to the ribs, but Fu twisted her body to avoid the attack and ducked under the follow up right hook. However, her eyes widened when Kakuzu's knee rose up to strike her in the face. Suddenly, the Nanabi jinchuriki found herself being forced down even lower to the ground so her head would avoid the knee and a loud clang was heard as Naruto's sword clashed against the knee.
The blonde's arm trembled and Kakuzu smirked. "So the Kyuubi jinchuriki hasn't been slacking off during his exile it seems." He was met with hostility as Naruto channeled his lightning elemental chakra along the length of the blade.
"Uzumaki-ryu: Rakurai/Uzumaki Style: Thunderbolt!" The lightning raced along the length of the blade and was released as a powerful pulse. Kakuzu was sent skidding backwards with a small burn on his knee as the earth element chakra was torn through by the superior element. Naruto then pushed off of Fu's head and flipped in the air while spinning the blades in his hands. As he landed, he stabbed his blade forward and a massive bolt of lightning raced out of the tip of the blade.
"Uzumaki-ryu: Raiju no Kiba/Uzumaki Style: Fang of the Thunder Beast!" Kakuzu's green eyes narrowed at the powerful sword technique of the Uzumaki before his skin turned back to its regular dark tan colour and then held out his arms as his hands went into the handsign for 'Monkey'. He then stretched out his hands and an arc of purple-blue lightning tore through the air.
"Raiton: Gian/Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder!" Kakuzu's and Naruto's respective bolts of lightning crashed against one another creating an explosion of voltage that created a small dust cloud. Using the dust as a cover, Naruto rushed through it and leaped into the air with his sword coated with wind chakra. The loud humming of the wind chakra turned into a high pitch whine as the frequency of the chakra increased. Kakuzu's arms turned black as he crossed his arms over his head in preparation to block the attack, but the blonde jinchuriki suddenly felt his body becoming lighter along with a sharp pain in his arms.
"HA!" Hidan cackled as he saw his attack had been successful. He pulled the cord that was connected to his triple-bladed scythe before it shot back towards him and he gripped it tightly upon its return. "What do you think of that, fucker?!"
Naruto's blue eyes widened as the sound of a blade slicing through flesh and his eyes widened as blood and his severed forearms fell from above. He then turned to face Hidan with a toothy grin.
"I think you suck, dumbass!" The body of the blonde then vanished in a plume of smoke. The ground in front of Kakuzu's feet then began to crack and break apart, and the S-Class shinobi quickly stepped backwards while leaning his head back. Naruto's fist came up to deliver a fierce uppercut, but once the blow was avoided he quickly drew his sword from its sheath and the mild mixture of humming and screeching that came with the application of wind chakra echoed through the air as he rotated his body.
"Uzumaki-ryu: Fuuryuu Suraisu/Uzumaki Style: Wind Dragon Slicer!" As the blade's edge neared Kakuzu's body, the former Taki nin lashed out with a quick hand and stopped it by grabbing Naruto's wrist. However, there was a small slice on his cloak's collar showing just how close Naruto had come to landing the attack. Kakuzu chuckled.
"You really are starting to be a fun bounty for me, Kyuubi jinchuriki. You may actually be worthy of that one hundred million ryo." Kakuzu's green eyes gained a glint excitement within them before he twisted Naruto's wrist. His bones creaked and Naruto winced as he was forced to release his sword. Kakuzu then threw Naruto into the air a bit and let his left hand's grip disappear, only for him to twist his body at the waist and lash out with his right. The fingers wrapped tightly around the blonde Uzumaki's throat and Naruto released a strangled cry of pain before was carried down to the ground with devastating force, enough to crack the ground.
Kakuzu then reared back his left fist and went for a powerful punch to the skull. "Try not to die from this."
"Howling Crusher!" A blazing red aura surrounded SaberLeomon's claws as he pounced at Dorumon and Gatomon, but the two partner Digimon leaped in opposite directions to avoid the crater forming strike. Gatomon then leaped and spun around, white light forming around her legs.
"Neko Kick!" She slammed a powerful spin kick against the side of SaberLeomon's head before going with the rotation of her strike to shift her body and raise her other leg high into the air and slam in down on the Mega level Digimon's skull in the form of a brutal axe kick. SaberLeomon roared and pushed against Gatomon's leg before rearing up on his hind legs and slashing at Gatomon, sending her careening through the air.
Dorumon came up and slammed against SaberLeomon's chest however, knocking the wind out of the large feline's lungs with a cry of "Hyper Dash Metal!". The powerful Rookie was slammed down on however, as SaberLeomon's heavier body fell down on him. SaberLeomon opened his jaws and aimed to tear off the dragon-like Digimon's head, but Dorumon opened his own maw.
"Metal Cannon!" A steel cannonball shot out of the X-Antibody holder's maw and struck SaberLeomon's own jaws, breaking a few teeth and cracking the left sabre fang. Dorumon then tucked his legs inwards and shot them skyward with great force, slamming them against his opponent's lower jaw and making the lower collide with the upper jaw with a resounding 'clack' sound.
Dorumon went into a backwards roll and got out from underneath his adversary before pushing himself to his feet, just in time avoid the swipe of SaberLeomon's claws, but the Mega level Digimon quickly spun around and lashed out with a vicious mule kick. The rear limbs slammed into Dorumon's body with great force and sent the purple furred dragon slamming into the trunk of a tree, but he quickly dropped his head down and the tree was sent toppling to the ground when SaberLeomon's claws tore through the thick trunk. Dorumon quickly maneuvered around SaberLeomon's attacks as the Mega Digimon aimed to slice him to shreds before leaping into the air and catching Gatomon as she leaped to meet him. Dorumon spun around rapidly and threw his feline partner towards SaberLeomon.
"Futile!" The larger feline Digimon roared. Gatomon hissed in response as her blue eyes met her fellow feline's. Her claws shone with holy white light while SaberLeomon's were engulfed in a fiery red aura.
"Lightning Claw!"
"Howling Crusher!"
White and red collided with a resounding explosion of light and energy that caused the ground beneath both Digimon to crack and shudder before a crater formed beneath SaberLeomon's feet. However, despite this, the Mega level Digimon was beginning to push back against Gatomon's claws, sparks flying from the friction. SaberLeomon's ears twitched and he quickly ducked, avoiding the massive metal spheroid that Dorumon fired, but then Dorumon followed after the sphere's path and slammed against SaberLeomon's side. SaberLeomon grunted in pain and Gatomon gained the upperhand as she interlocked her claws with SaberLeomon's. She then landed on the ground and redirected SaberLeomon's claws downwards. The impact resulted in a massive shockwave that sent both Digimon flying backwards, but the blue eyed Mega stared in shock as he saw his claws were deeply embedded in the cratered earth.
SaberLeomon grunted as he tried to wrench his claws free, but they were stuck all the way to base. And that was when Fu decided to strike. She dropped down from above and slammed her exoskeleton covered fists down on SaberLeomon's skull in the form a powerful hammer blow. She then grabbed SaberLeomon's head and brought her knee upwards, crashing it against his lower jaw before following up with a rising kick. The force of the strike sent SaberLeomon into the air, but with his body free the Mega level Digimon quickly spun around and lashed out with his strong tail.
The rear appendage struck Fu in the chest, but due to Tentomon clinging to her chest, the Rookie Insectoid Digimon acted as a shield and blocked the attack. However, the force sent her skidding backwards. SaberLeomon landed on the ground and then the fur on his body hardened, becoming similar to the quills on a hedgehog, before charging forward.
"Twin Fang!" The massive feline roared as he thundered across the landscape.
"Super Shocker!" Tentomon sent forth a burst of golden electricity, but the Mega level Digimon was unaffected by the attack. He tore through the attack before slamming into Fu with a great deal of force. The Taki jounin flew through the air, but managed to right herself in midair and slam her feet against the trunk of the tree she would have crashed into before pushing off. She flipped in the air and SaberLeomon quickly leaped back just as a strong axe kick slammed into the ground, cracking it.
Fu then continued to try and land a blow on the Mega level Digimon, and as Dorumon and Gatomon looked for an opening to help the mint haired jinchuriki, Dorumon glanced to the side and his eyes widened when he saw Naruto being slammed into the ground, pinned by Kakuzu's strong grip. Dorumon's rounded pupils became vertical slits as his rage bubbled to the surface.
"Fu, hit SaberLeomon into the air! Gato-chan, throw me!" Fu wasn't listening, but it was out of pure coincidence that the one move she managed to score in the close-quarter combat situation between herself and SaberLeomon had been an uppercut that sent the Mega skyward. Gatomon quickly did as her fellow partner Digimon told her and she grabbed Dorumon, spun him around and then threw him at SaberLeomon.
"Try not to die from this." Kakuzu had chuckled as he reared back his fist, but Dorumon had reached his objective just in time to intervene.
"How about you try not to die from this!" Dorumon's voice rang out. Kakuzu's head snapped up and his green eyes widened before he was sent rolling on the ground as SaberLeomon was pelted through the air by the X-Antibody holder. The former Taki shinobi groaned before pushing the large lion off of him.
"Get off of me you useless cat!" Kakuzu roared. SaberLeomon snarled as he rolled onto his feet and glared at Kakuzu.
"You are the useless one here, human. Do not make light of a Mega Digimon."
Hidan merely laughed as he twirled his scythe. "You fucking bitches, you can't even take on two fucking jinchuriki and their shitty demon shits! You're embarrassing yourself, Kakuzu!"
Kakuzu glared at his partner. "As if you have any right to say anything, Hidan. If weren't for me, you'd be in pieces after every fight we take part in. Why don't you take that scythe and fuck yourself with it while praying to that non-existent god of yours."
Hidan gritted his teeth and stabbed his scythe into the ground in rage. "Don't you dare call Jashin-sama a non-existent god! Jashin-sama exists and I am living proof of that!"
"Did he just say Jashin?" Chomei asked. Fu raised an eyebrow at her Bijuu's words, but kept her focus on the arguing members of Akatsuki.
'Yeah, why? Don't tell me that a god actually exists, does it?' Fu thought. Chomei shook his head, but his mandibles clicked together in what appeared to be a bit of nervousness.
"Jashin is not a god in any shape or form, but he was a man who delved into the act of making himself immortal. He was once a friend of the Rikudo Sennin, but he was far too corrupt. He abused his new talents and created a blood based Fuuinjutsu to make his dream a reality. He outlived the Rikudo Sennin and he created the cult of Jashin."
'What's the cult of Jashin?' Naruto blinked in confusion. Kurama's eyes narrowed as he stared at Hidan through Naruto's own.
"The cult of blood, death and immortality. Obviously, they were far too dangerous to be left alive and the first crusade against the Jashinists began since they were a cult that sacrificed living beings to appease Jashin who they began to see as a god. It took twelve crusades to kill them all and so I thought them to be extinct. However..." The Kyuubi's teeth gnashed and he released a growl of annoyance. "...it seems one still survived."
Fu's and Naruto's eyes widened. "Immortality?" They whispered. Fu was knocked out of her thoughts when the Zombie Duo of the Akatsuki and SaberLeomon turned back to them.
"Enough squabbling." Kakuzu snapped. "We have two jinchuriki to capture and three Digimon that need to be killed. Don't fuck up, you piece of shit...you too, you overgrown flea bag!"
"Fuck you!" SaberLeomon and Hidan growled at Kakuzu. The scythe wielding nuke-nin charged forth and spun his scythe in his hands to build up momentum before swinging it down on Fu and Tentomon, but despite being a Rookie Digimon, Tentomon's exoskeleton still boasted great durability, sparks flying off from the friction before the triple-bladed weapon smashed into the ground, creating a small shockwave. However, Hidan wrenched it free with ease and spun on his heels to swing the weapon in an upward arc. Fu leaned back and gritted her teeth when she saw a single hair fall from her bangs and the rush of air that passed the tip of her nose.
She went with the momentum of her leaning back and went into a backhand spring before Tentomon's wings opened outwards.
"SUPER SHOCKER!" The bolt of golden electricity tore through the air, but Hidan ducked under the strike just as Kakuzu unleashed a burst of purple lightning from the tips of his fingers.
"Raiton: Gian/Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder!" The purple-blue lightning clashed with Tentomon's own and easily tore through it, streaking through the air with ease. However, Fu quickly flashed through handsigns and brought her hands together in the 'rat' handsign. She stretched out her hands and unleashed a burst of wind from them.
"Fuuton: Daitoppa/Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!" The burst of wind elemental chakra ripped apart the burst of lightning, but SaberLeomon took the charge and ran through the winds. His sharp and durable fur protected him from the attack and his fur sharpened like quills once more.
"Twin Fang!" He roared and slammed into Fu's body. Fu was sent skidding backwards, but quickly had to go into a roll as SaberLeomon smashed down on the ground where she had once been standing. She popped up to her feet and spun to deliver a strong spin kick, her heel digging into the massive lion Digimon's side. SaberLeomon powered through the pain of the strike and his claws were then encased in a powerful red aura.
"Howling Crusher!" Fu's orange eyes widened and her body seemed to fold in half as she was struck in the back. She flew through the air, but was quick to right herself only to raise her arms and latch onto Naruto's outstretched one as he caught her. The two jinchuriki landed on the ground.
"You okay, Moss Head?"
"Yeah." She gritted her teeth slightly as she felt the pulsing pain on her mid-back. "That furball hits hard."
"He's a Mega level. He should, but we need info before we can go into a battle against them. Kurama told me about how that crazy scythe guy is a Jashinist. Chomei should know about them, right?"
"Yeah, he told me about them. A blood cult that thrives on sacrifice, and are apparently immortal. We nothin' else on him, but what Kurama and Chomei told us about the Jashinists, but Kakuzu is from the time of the Shodai Hokage. He took one of the kinjutsu called Joingu/Earth Grudge Fear. It gives the user the ability to consistently stitch their body back together as their body becomes composed of massive black threads, and it was reported that Kakuzu used this technique to grant himself pseudo-immortality by stealing the hearts of the Taki shinobi he killed before fleeing the village."
"Psuedo-immortal and an actual immortal. This sucks, but out of curiosity, how old is Kakuzu?"
"By my count...he should be ninety-one by now."
"NINETY-ONE?!" Naruto exclaimed. As he shouted this, he and Fu quickly made the effort of dodging to the right as a bolt of lightning from Kakuzu raced towards him. Naruto then raised his sword and brought it down on the former Taki shinobi's head, but Kakuzu raised his arm while activating Doton: Domu, to take the damage for him.
Kakuzu then pushed Naruto off of him before leaping to the side as Fu slammed her foot down in an axe kick that formed a small crater from the force. Fu then ran forward and aimed a punch to the torso, but Kakuzu brought his leg up to defend against the blow before stretching it out and nailing her in the stomach. However, Naruto threw a shuriken at Hidan before he caught her in midair as she was sent flying back and spun around before throwing her back at him.
Fu smirked as Kakuzu went to smash his fist against her head, only for Fu to disappear in a puff of smoke. The green eyed Akatsuki member's eyes widened before the sound of swirling chakra met his ears. Kakuzu glanced back and he could only watch as a crimson eyed Naruto lashed out with an orb of spiraling violet chakra. Kakuzu was extremely glad to possess the Doton: Domu jutsu because despite his armoured body, he still felt some pain as Naruto slammed his attack against his back, ripping apart the cloak as he did so.
"RASENGAN/SPIRALING SPHERE!" Naruto roared. Kakuzu released a cough of blood beneath his face mask as the jutsu of the Yondaime Hokage ground through the Earth Spear jutsu before the chakra exploded outwards as a miniature whirlwind. It tore through the hardened skin, drilling against it and grounding the skin into mincemeat. The pseudo-immortal was sent spiraling through the air before the momentum made him tear a trench through the earth. With a resounding crash, Kakuzu came to a stop, slamming into the rocky cliffside that surrounded Takigakure in its entirety, trapped in the Kakuzu-shaped indentation he made with it.
The real Fu was revealed to actually be the shuriken Naruto had thrown earlier and she shot towards Hidan.
"You bitch! You think you can fucking take me on! You got another fucking thing coming you piece of shit!" The ever foul mouthed Akatsuki member quickly deflected a strike from Gatomon before leaping over Dorumon as the X-Antibody holder went for a strike from below. He then ducked slightly as SaberLeomon leaped over him to take down the dragon-like Digimon before swinging his scythe upwards.
His dark eyes widened however, when his scythe made friction with her skin rather than slicing through it. He then released a loud yelp of pain as he exoskeleton covered knee crashed against his face, breaking his nose with a spray of blood.
"FUCK!" Hidan was then grabbed by his head as Fu landed on the ground, and pulled downwards before her knee was raised up once more to smash it against his face before she spun him around and gripped his arms before raising her leg high into the air. With a resounding "HYA!" she brought her heel down harshly between the silver haired Jashinist's shoulder blades.
"SON OF BITCH, THAT FUCKING HURT YOU FUCKING SLUT!" Hidan howled as his arms were forcibly removed from their sockets. She then pulled Hidan close to her and impaled him against the spikes of Tentomon's wing coverings, tearing through his liver, stomach and right kidney.
"Tentomon, now!"
"On it!" The Rookie Digimon said. "Super Shocker!" Electricity flooded the former Yugakure shinobi's body and made a loud scream of pain echo through the air. Skin that was once a healthy tan colour began to turn a horrible shade of red as the heat from the electricity fried his body. When the screams stopped, Fu wrenched Hidan free from Tentomon's spikes and pushed him down on the ground.
As she did so, she felt movement behind her and quickly acted to attack with a punch only to reveal Naruto as he grabbed the offending limb by the wrist.
"Watch it! By the way, axe kick now!" He spoke just as he bent low and flipped Fu over his shoulder. Having heard his words, Fu stretched out her leg as she flipped and slammed her heel down on SaberLeomon's head as the massive Mega had charged towards her and Naruto. The large Digimon growled before swiping at her, but Naruto quickly blocked the strike with his sword.
He twisted and slammed his elbow against SaberLeomon's nose with a resounding crack. He then leaped to the side with Fu as the ground beneath the Mega Digimon tore apart and Gatomon appeared with her claws ready to tear through SaberLeomon's remaining eye. However, the blue eyed Mega ducked under the swipe only for Dorumon to follow up after out of the hole Gatomon had dug.
"Hyper Dash Metal!" A silvery aura coated the X-Antibody Digimon and with a bone creaking impact, sent SaberLeomon's head back upwards.
"Lightning Claw!" Gatomon slashed through SaberLeomon's flesh, dragging the glowing white claws through his synthesized body and ripping apart the remaining eye. SaberLeomon roared in pain before a crushing blow to the throat from Dorumon's tail swipe ended it. Fu then grabbed SaberLeomon and channeled her chakra into her muscles, lifting the red and yellow furred Mega into the air.
Recognizing her scent, SaberLeomon released a cough in surprise as he began to speak. "How are you still moving?! My fur should have torn through your flesh and the venom should have paralyzed your weak human body!"
"That's the problem. I'm not a human." Fu said. With a roar she threw SaberLeomon into the air and she placed her hands into the 'tiger' handsign. Her chakra flared as she reared her head back. "I'm a jinchuriki." She then exhaled forcefully and a large amount of fine powder flowed from her open mouth. If SaberLeomon had been able to see, he would have been blinded as the powder began to take on a luminescent quality.
"Hiden: Rinpungakure no Jutsu/Secret: Hiding in Scale Powder Technique!" Fu then glanced down at her Digimon partner as he was still clinging to her chest. "Tentomon, light 'em up!"
"Super Shocker!" A sizable spark of golden lightning arced out from between Tentomon's buzzing wings. Time seemed to slow down and the lightning bolt went through the air, touching the cloud of scale powder for only a moment, before it was ignited. In a massive explosion of electricity and fire, SaberLeomon was vanquished as a cloud of red data flakes.
Dorumon and Gatomon ran up to their Tamer and Tentomon released himself from Fu's body. The three Digimon looked up at the two jinchuriki who smiled down at them.
"Nice job guys." Naruto said as he patted them both on their heads, earning a purr and growl of happiness from the two due to the praise they received. The blonde Uzumaki rose up to his full height and glanced at the two downed Akatsuki members, frowning slightly as he did so. They weren't moving, which, even though it was a good thing, put Naruto a bit on edge.
"Oi Moss Head, are you sure these guys are supposed to be immortal?" Naruto asked.
"Well...they're supposed to be immortals. Chomei said the Jashinist was supposed to be granted immortality, but for Kakuzu, the kinjutsu allows him to steal the hearts of others, but maybe he only had one after so many years. You could have legitimately killed him." The Nanabu jinchuriki replied.
"They look pretty dead to me." Dorumon commented.
"I concur." Tentomon and Gatomon raised their arms in agreement. Fu's orange eyes narrowed as she looked at Kakuzu and Hidan, but then she felt a strong pulse in chakra. Naruto felt the surge in power as well, and both jinchuriki turned to look at Hidan as his burnt visage shuddered before jumping to its feet.
"AGH WHAT THE FUCKING HELL! YOU BITCH!" Hidan shouted with rage evident in his voice. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THAT FUCKING HURT! I'M IMMORTAL, NOT INVULNERABLE! SHIT!" He winced when he moved to pick up his scythe, but managed to complete the action. Hidan then growled as he looked to the currently immobile Kakuzu. "Oi, Kakuzu, you pussy! Don't tell me the blonde shithead here actually managed to kill you did he?! You have like five of those things in you, you shouldn't be dead yet!"
The group's eyes widened even further as they heard an annoyed grunt coming from the former Taki shinobi. Kakuzu rose to his feet, grasping the rocky cliff wall for support before glaring at Hidan. The former Yugakure shinobi pissed him off to no end.
"Shut up. This is why I hate having partners, they are so goddamn annoying." Kakuzu looked down at the hole in his chest from Naruto's Rasengan and chuckled lightly. "Not bad, Kyuubi jinchuriki. Not bad at all." He complimented said jinchuriki. "You almost managed to kill me once...but can you do it again?"
Naruto reached to the pouches beneath his cloak where his D-Arks were held, but paused when he did so. 'I lost nearly everything when I came back to this dimension. All of my modification cards were unused and ripped apart due to age with all the training I did with Dorumon and Gatomon, and I only have ten of them left. I have no Digivolution card so I can't make them digivolve to their Champion level, and without the Blue Card I can't go Ultimate either. I have a few modification cards, but...'
Naruto's eyes brightened as he recalled he still had those remaining ten cards from his deck. Ten was a small number, but at least it was more than zero. He needed some time to make a proper combination attack and create an opening. It took too much time to sift through his modification cards, even with such a small number of them, to find the correct one to use and then utilize them. Back in the Real World, Digimon were much too focused on his and the other Tamer Digimon to bother with the human element, but with shinobi, it was a whole different story.
'I'll need Dorumon and Gatomon to stand back for a while. Fu isn't a Tamer for Tentomon and even if she was, I doubt she'd know how to use the D-Ark. It'll have to be just me and her for the meantime then.' Naruto thought. "Moss Head, work with me on this okay?"
"What's the plan, Goldilocks?"
"Kakuzu seems to be the brighter of the two, not to mention the stronger one." He muttered. "Hidan's the weakest and even though he's immortal...he has no healing factor." He slightly gestured to the holes in his body made by Tentomon's spikes and the fact that his body had not been replaced with a fresh coat of skin.
"So we take him out first, then move on to Kakuzu." Fu stated, earning a nod from Naruto. "And what about the Digimon?"
"Against any other opponent, I would keep them by my side, but Kakuzu's durability makes Dorumon and Gatomon useless and with their immortality, Tentomon's Super Shocker wouldn't have the intended effect we would want."
"And we want them dead."
"Pretty much."
Fu cracked her knuckles with a smirk on her face. "Then let's get goin', Goldilocks." The two jinchuriki went through handsigns before ending on the 'rat' sign. Fu stretched her arms out in front of her and Naruto inhaled deeply, his cheeks bloating as the chakra and air pooled within his lungs and rose up his throat to his mouth.
"Fuuton: Daitoppa!"
"Katon: Goukakyu no Jutsu/Fire Release: Grand Fireball Technique!"
A raging spheroid of crimson flame erupted from Naruto's mouth and Fu unleashed a powerful gust of wind from her hands. The winds spiraled around the fireball and increased the intensity of the flames as it tore through the air towards Hidan. Hidan quickly jumped into the air, over the attack and raised his scythe high into the air.
Naruto quickly formed a cross-shaped handsign and in a plume of smoke, two clones appeared on either side of him. One clone then grabbed Fu's arm, and the other grabbed the original Naruto's. The clones then spun around to build up the necessary momentum and hurled their respective jinchuriki into the skies. Hidan swung his scythe down just as Naruto and Fu reached his position.
Fu raised her arm and blocked the strike and went for a kick to the groin, but Hidan raised his leg and blocked the strike before twisting his body to the side when Naruto aimed a punch to the chest. As he twisted, he used the motion to go into a full rotation and flipped his scythe around in his hands to perform a decapitating strike.
A loud clang echoed through the air when Fu raised her exoskeleton covered arm and blocked the strike, sparks flying, but Hidan raised his leg up and the toe of his sandals crashed against her chin and had her head snapping backwards before he flipped and his scythe down on her head. Fu rocketed to the ground and Hidan quickly raised his weapon once more and blocked the sword strike from the blonde Uzumaki.
The son of the Yondaime Hokage gritted his teeth before he sensed a burst of chakra coming from nearby. His eyes widened when he glanced below and saw Kakuzu standing with his body hunched over slightly and had two odd looking masks attached to his shoulder blades. One looked like a bird with green markings and the other looked like a tiger with red markings on it. The two masks opened their mouths and with the flare of chakra, Hidan also took note of his partner's attack.
"Fuuton: Atsugai/Wind Release: Pressure Damage!"
"Katon: Zukokku/Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work!"
From the bird mask came a powerful burst of wind and from the tiger mask, a raging fire storm came out of its mouth. The two elements raced towards the locations of the Jashinist and the Kyuubi jinchuriki making the two pairs of eyes widen in shock. Naruto's arms tensed and then he pushed away from Hidan and Hidan did the same just in time to avoid the combination attack of fire and wind collided at the same time at their previous location.
A powerful explosion of wind and fire created a massive shockwave and sent both shinobi rocketing through the air before they landed on the ground, utilizing their motion to roll on the ground and quickly climb back to their feet.
"Fuck you, Kakuzu! What the fuck was that shit?! You could have killed me!"
"You can't die, you asshole." Kakuzu replied. "Besides, the intensity of the attack would have only severely burned you and the jinchuriki. It wouldn't have killed him." Kakuzu then jabbed his fingers forward and a bolt of purple and blue lightning struck forth.
"Raiton: Gian!" Naruto and Fu quickly hopped around the battlefield and avoided the bolts of lightning. As Naruto landed from avoiding his latest of bolt of lightning, he quickly held up his sword and skidded backwards when Hidan threw his scythe. The scythe flew into the air from the block, but Hidan gripped the cord attached to it and swung the blade the downwards. Naruto went into a backhand spring to avoid the strike, but his eyes widened when Hidan wrenched the triple bladed weapon from the ground and ran up to it and kicked it at the base of the hilt. The scythe raced towards Naruto, but Fu quickly landed in front of him with her arms crossed and deflected the weapon sending it spinning through the air.
"NOT THIS TIME, BITCH!" Hidan yelled as he leaped into the air and caught his weapon in midair before going into a series of front flips to build up momentum. Channeling chakra throughout their bodies, Naruto and Fu shifted into stable horse stances. The Nanabi jinchuriki raised her arms while Naruto held up his sword as it was encased in wind chakra.
With a resounding crash, Hidan's weapon made impact with their attempts to block and the two jinchuriki gritted their teeth as they realized just how strong the Jashinist really was.
"You brats should pray to Jashin-sama. It's a blessing for you two to be sacrificed in the name of Jashin-sama!"
"Fuck...you." Fu grunted out.
"Katon: Zukokku!" Her orange eyes widened and her gaze shifted to the side in time to see the raging firestorm that was Kakuzu's attack. The fires crashed against Fu's body and sent her and Naruto through the air with screams of pain coming out of their mouths. The two rolled on the ground and grunted as they shakily rose to their feet. Fu had taken the brunt of the attack and had only a few first degree burns thanks to her chakra exoskeleton, and Naruto's own burns were slowly healing because of Kurama.
"Shit that hurt." He muttered as he was forced to shed his cloak after seeing it was now of fire thanks to Kakuzu's attack.
"Fuuton: Atsugai!" Kakuzu sent forth a burst of pressurized wind from the bird mask on his shoulder, but Naruto quickly reacted and formed the 'tiger' handsign.
"Katon: Karyū Endan no Jutsu/Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet Technique!" A powerful stream of fire erupted from Naruto's jaws, swirling into the form of a massive dragon with glowing yellow eyes. The fire dragon unleashed a roar before colliding with Kakuzu's jutsu and a massive fiery explosion rocked the earth and created a crater.
"Fuuton: Kamikaze no Jutsu/Wind Release: Holy Wind Technique!" Fu blew apart the dust cloud and sent the ferocious gust of wind towards Kakuzu, but the older shinobi quickly darkened his skin using Doton: Domu and used the armour-like technique to defend against the sharp winds. Kakuzu then took of from his position and let loose a strong right hook to Fu's face, but the green haired jounin of Taki ducked underneath the strike and aimed an uppercut to the jaw which Kakuzu blocked before he leaped back as Naruto dove down from above to slam an axe kick down on his skull. The ground cratered slightly from the impact, and Kakuzu ducked just in time for Hidan to swing his scythe in a horizontal motion to slash at the two jinchuriki.
Naruto quickly rolled forward as Fu leaned her body backwards so that her upper body was parallel to the ground. When the slice was avoided, Naruto came to a stop in a kneeling position and pushed forward with the force traveling up through his legs.
"Double Rasengan!" Two spheres of rotating chakra sped towards the two Akatsuki members, but the two S-Rank missing-nin twisted their bodies to avoid the strikes. Kakuzu then lashed out with a strong punch to the ribs while Hidan sliced off Naruto's right arm. Naruto released a gurgled cry of pain only for him to vanish in a cloud of smoke and be replaced with a partially sliced, and partially crushed log.
Kakuzu then shifted his body and crashed a powerful roundhouse kick against the remainder of the log, while Hidan slashed his scythe to the side. Fu's punch created sparks from the collision and Naruto, as he was descending from above for a Rasengan attack, quickly obliterated the log before the Explosion Seal tag he placed on its surface could burn out and continued on his path of attack.
However, his eyes widened when Hidan slammed his knee against Fu's chest and then sliced her knee, bringing her down before Kakuzu grabbed her and tossed her towards him.
"AAAAHHHHH!" Fu screamed as the Rasengan broke through her chakra exoskeleton and drilled against her right shoulder, sending her spiraling to the ground. The Nanabi jinchuriki slammed into the ground with terrific force, clutching her bleeding shoulder. Naruto landed beside her and he quickly formed a horde of Kagebunshins to hold off the Zombie Duo of Akatsuki.
He held Fu and jumped back before hissing when he saw the mess of flesh and blood her shoulder had become. "God fucking damn it, Goldilocks! That thing really hurts!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean..."
"I know!" Fu snapped, her pain obviously influencing her volume. "Look, Chomei will fix it up soon enough, but we need to create that opening to attack them. I can handle this flesh wound, but I won't have much flesh left to wound if we get beaten by these guys."
"Damn it, Moss Head! I'm trying to be considerate here!"
"We don't have time for considerate, Goldilocks! Now shut up and get back to the fight!" Fu jumped to her feet just as the last of Naruto's clones were destroyed. Fu quickly inhaled deeply as she placed her hands in the 'tiger' sign.
"Hiden: Rinpungakure no Jutsu!" A cloud of blinding powder rushed out of Fu's open mouth and blinded the two Akatsuki members. Naruto quickly formed twenty clones. With them blinded, Kakuzu was being held down by ten of the clones as they rushed him, and the other ten drew their blades.
"Can't fucking see!" Hidan growled as he wildly swung his scythe blade. Kakuzu quickly ripped apart the clones that held him down before unleashing his wind natured chakra.
"Fuuton: Atsugai!" The raging tempest of pressurized wind blew apart the cloud of blinding powder, but he and Hidan were still seeing spots because of it. Fu rushed Hidan and kicked his hands so that his scythe was sent into the air. Fu leaped after the weapon and caught it before swinging it down and severing his right arm from his body.
Hidan's eyes widened before he unleashed a howl of pain, blood spurting from the stump that used to be his arm.
"Now!" Naruto announced. Fu nodded and leaped out of the way. The ten clones that attacked Hidan coated their blades with wind chakra.
"Uzumaki-ryu: Shikaze no Mai/Uzumaki Style: Dance of the Four Winds!" From four different directions, the five teams of Naruto clones attacked and sliced through Hidan's flesh and bone. All of his remaining limbs were severed, his head was removed from his body by the base of his neck and the rest of body was now in pieces with blood and internal organs splattered all over the ground.
She reared back her fist as she neared the former Taki shinobi and chakra surrounded her fist like a shroud of violet as she channeled her bijuu's chakra. With ferocious force, Kakuzu's bound form was struck harshly in the chest, where his heart was. The force made his body shudder and shake, the darkening material of his mask indicating he had coughed up blood from the impact, before he flew through the air and crashed into the ground near Hidan's remains.
"Kakuzu, hurry the fuck up and sew me together! I need to slice those damn assholes to pieces! I don't fucking care if they're jinchuriki, I'll fucking murder 'em!"
Kakuzu ignored his loud partner as he rose to his feet and his eyes widened when he felt a pulse of chakra from above and a massive shadow covered their forms. Naruto had leaped into the air and took out the scroll he used from his battle with BlackWarGreymon and unfurled it before unlocking the vacuum seal that held its contents.
"Fuuinjutsu: Kai/Sealing Technique: Release!" The seal broke apart and the scroll vanished from view due to the chakra burning it apart. The contents of said seal then began to descend towards the two S-Rank shinobi. A giant orb of black and red energy that possessed enough power to destroy a two story house in one shot.
"What the fuck is that?!" Hidan exclaimed.
"DORUMON, FU, DO IT!" Naruto exclaimed. Kakuzu turned away from the Terra Destroyer just as he saw one of Naruto's clones standing with Fu and the dragon-like Digimon. The blonde was holding some odd device in his hands as well as what looked like a playing card.
"Digimodify...GeoGreymon's Mega Flame Activate!"
"Mega Flame!" Dorumon shouted as he held up his claws. A massive spheroid of red flame appeared before he threw the attack forward. The Kagebunshin and Fu then went through handsigns and took deep breaths.
"Katon: Karyuu Endan no Jutsu!" The clone breathed out a fire dragon which melded with Dorumon's Mega Flame.
"Fuuton: Fuuryuudan no Jutsu/Wind Release: Wind Dragon Bullet Technique!" The already mighty fire dragon was now even larger and burned with a greater amount of intensity. The massive fire dragon was larger than any other fire dragon technique Kakuzu had ever seen in his days as a shinobi.
"Konbijutsu: Saikyo no Karyuu Endan/Combination Technique: Omega Fire Dragon Blast!" Naruto's clone and Dorumon yelled with looks of nostalgia and determination on their faces. This was one of their first and greatest combination techniques and it was great for them to see it in action once more. The Omega Fire Dragon roared as it zoomed towards Kakuzu and Hidan, and the Terra Destroyer that fell from above covered far too large an area and moved quickly.
They were trapped by the pincer attack.
"Fuck." Both Akatsuki muttered.
In a massive explosion of energy and fire, the re-used Terra Destroyer and Saikyo no Karyuu Endan impacted with their intended targets. A dome of energy and fire spread outwards from the point of collision they made with Kakuzu and Hidan and generated a massive shockwave that sent all the other combatants flying in random directions.
When the explosion died down, the cloud of dust and dirt subsided to reveal a pile of ashes laying in the centre of a massive crater. Naruto released a loud grunt of pain as he landed on the ground just outside the crater while the rest of the group slowly climbed to their feet. Naruto held his ribs and gritted his teeth as he felt that they were cracked from his impact with ground zero.
Fu then walked up to Naruto with the three Digimon trailing behind her. She was applying pressure to the part of her shoulder that Naruto had torn apart with his Rasengan, blood flowing out from between her fingers and down her arm.
"Nice combo, Goldilocks. We killed immortals like badasses!" She raised her hand up into the air. "Up top!"
"Badassary is what we jinchuriki specialize in, Moss Head." He matched her toothy grin with his foxy one while giving her a high-five.
"By the way, what jutsu was that giant energy ball?"
"Not a jutsu, Moss Head." He replied.
"Terra Destroyer, a Digimon attack used by the Mega level Digimon, BlackWarGreymon. How did you manage to use it?!" Tentomon asked.
"I sealed it away when I fought one. Long story." He waved her off when she saw the confused looks on both hers and Tentomon's faces. "But we have to head to Shibuki and tell him what happened."
"Why? I may be a shinobi of Taki, but I have no obligation to report to a man that could give less than two shits about me." She snarled.
"Because even with our healing factors as jinchuriki, the wound caused by my Rasengan is bound to raise some questions and not to mention..." He pointed at her right hand. "...you're carrying around a triple-bladed scythe."
"Oi, my spoils! I don't care if it's the weapon of a madman immortal that we just turned to ash, but it's mine now!" Fu stated with defiance, slamming the butt of the scythe down into the ground as a means to solidify her statement. Naruto smirked at the mint haired kunoichi.
"I get that, but you're a jinchuriki. Shibuki needs to know that Akatsuki was about to come to his doorstep." Naruto looked at the mint haired girl with a serious look in his eyes. "I was possibly the first to be hunted by Akatsuki, Fu. While you may personally not have an obligation to report to Shibuki about the Akatsuki, you have obligation to keep yourself alive. If other members of Akatsuki come here to Takigakure then it will be you against them on your own. Shibuki's a good man, Fu...don't let his past transgressions of being a follower of the crowd, the past that made him belittle you like everyone else, fool you into making a stupid decision."
Fu looked at the former Konoha shinobi, her hardened gaze meeting his own. The Digimon watched as the two held their glares for what seemed like hours before Fu released a sigh of defeat.
"Fine. I'll tell Shibuki about this." She muttered. "But I'm still keeping the scythe."
Unknown Location, Elemental Nations
Kakuzu groaned as he looked over his form. Before those two annoying jinchuriki and their stupid Digimon had killed Hidan, and almost killed him, he had managed to perform a quick Kawarimi with a log, but he had gotten nearly his entire right side heavily burned in the process. The skin that was peeling off showed the still slightly sizzling flesh beneath. Kakuzu smirked beneath his face mask.
'Maybe those Log worshiping freaks aren't so crazy after all.' The S-Rank shinobi thought. Kakuzu then paused as he heard a rustling in the grass in front of him. He quickly shifted into a fighting stance, ignoring the pain of his burns and continued to stare at the rustling patch of grass. The grass then seemed to liquefy along with the ground beneath it, and out of the ground came the split personality bearing member of Akatsuki, Zetsu.
This member of Akatsuki was one of the easiest to recognize due to the fact that he could be distinguished by the two venus flytrap-like extensions that emerged from his sides, enveloping his head and upper body as a shell. Beneath these extensions, Zetsu had short green hair and yellow eyes, and his body had two differently coloured halves. His left side was completely white, while his right side was almost entirely black. If one were to look underneath the cloak, they would see that the black colour did not cover Zetsu's entire right half, as it only extended partially down his leg. Under his Akatsuki cloak, Zetsu wore blue pants and sandals, and had both legs wrapped in bandages, which hid the area where his right leg's black colouring merged with his white foot. Zetsu's fingernails are painted pink and his toenails are blue. He also wore his green Akatsuki ring, which bears the kanji for "sign of the boar", on his right little finger.
"Ara Ara, Kakuzu-kun. You really took a beating back there, but then again, you never did work well with others. Hidan and those two demon creatures did seem like they would get in the way. So I'm guessing the Nanabi jinchuriki wasn't captured. Did something happen, Kakuzu-kun?" Zetsu's white half chuckled.
"Oh don't give me that bullshit, Zetsu. I knew you were there the entire time, watching the battle." Kakuzu's green eyes narrowed. "The Kyuubi jinchuriki is back and out in the open, and he's far stronger than I anticipated since he is able to work with those insufferable demon creatures."
"I believe they call themselves Digimon from what I was told."
"And I don't give a fuck."
"Has Hidan rubbed off on you with all that profanity spewing?"
"Fuck you, Zetsu. Also, we need to head back to HQ and tell Leader-sama of this development. With the Kyuubi jinchuriki back in play, that means that his bounty is now accessible to the public if others know of his return from being off the grid."
"Indeed, this will prove to be problematic, but I'm sure things will work out for us in the end, Kakuzu-kun. After all, Hidan's dead, he was just there to act as your partner because you kept killing all your previous ones, and I...get a meal in the form of his ashes." Zetsu chuckled.
"We will inform Leader-sama of this immediately. We have no need to continue this conversation, but it would be best to return to HQ, Kakuzu. No stops for bounty hunting as we will need to discuss the things involving the Kyuubi jinchuriki, in person." The demonic sounding voice of Zetsu's black half spoke. The former Taki shinobi nodded and Zetsu nodded back to him.
With that, Zetsu sunk back into the ground and Kakuzu walked along towards Kawa no Kuni.
Shibuki's Office, Leader Tower, Takigakure no Sato
Shibuki and Miu rose up from their chairs and shook hands with bright smiles on their faces.
"I'm glad we finally have some terms that we can agree on, Shibuki-san." Miu said. Shibuki nodded.
"As am I, Hitokage-san. You truly are your grandfather's family, very few can manage to make such a stellar trade agreement." Shibuki held one of the scrolls which held the contents of the trade agreement Miu had drawn up for Shibuki to review. The brown eyed noble then picked up the other two scrolls and placed them in the hands of the clone of her guardian.
"Even fewer can do so at your age. Usually I'd be stuck in such meetings for over a week, but you managed this in two days. I hope that you will be the person I speak to whenever we have more issues to discuss between Hi no Kuni and Takigakure."
Miu blushed lightly at the praise. "You are too kind, Shibuki-san. But with the contracts now signed and our business having concluded, please allow me to be excused so that I may prepare for my journey home."
"Of course, Hitokage-san." The two bowed to one another, Naruto's clone only joining in doing so out of respect for the brown haired man, before they turned to leave. Shibuki sat back down in his chair, but as he watched Miu and her guardian leave, his eyes widened when he saw the door suddenly burst open revealing Fu and the original Naruto.
"Naruto!" Both Shibuki and Miu's eyes widened, but for different reasons. While it was from shock, Miu's was more from the surprise that her guardian had chosen to suddenly appear in such a rude manner, while Shibuki was shocked from seeing his client's guardian beside his jounin jinchuriki walking in with a large triple-bladed scythe.
"Naruto what are you doing? Who is this?" She looked at Fu with wary brown eyes, but she looked to Naruto as he placed a hand on her shoulder and looked at her with a no-nonsense expression.
"Miu-hime, I have some business to discuss with Shibuki-san. Please return to the hotel and wait for me there, alright? I promise, I will explain things when we get back to the Capital." Miu's mouth opened and closed as if she were a gaping fish, no words coming out of her throat. After a moment, she found her voice and nodded.
"You promise?"
"I never go back on my word." Naruto replied with his trademark foxy grin. Miu held her stare for a few moments before nodding her head and she left with the clone of her guardian. As the door closed, Naruto's serious expression returned as he faced Shibuki.
"Naruto, please tell me what is the...meaning of...this..." His words died away when he saw Naruto's transformed vanish in a plume of smoke to be replaced with his original blonde haired, blue eyed form. Shibuki's eyes were wide with shock, looking as if he had seen a ghost. "Naruto? Naruto, is that...really you?"
"It is, Shibuki."
"But why were you..."
"You are aware of my status as being banished from Konoha and then suddenly my status shifted to be a missing-nin?" Shibuki nodded. "Well to avoid drawing attention to myself even more than I already have by being Miu-hime's guardian, I disguised myself."
"I see." Shibuki nodded in understanding. "Old friend, I would really like to discuss how you've been and exchange pleasantries, but I assume by the state you and...Fu-san...are in..." Naruto hid his reaction to glare at Shibuki for that abrupt pause in dialogue. It was obvious he was going to say something else. "...you are not here to do the same."
"We are not." Fu replied sternly as she tapped her new scythe against the wooden floors. Shibuki leaned forward with his hands clasped in front of his face, his expression matching those of the jinchuriki before him.
"Carry on." He said.
Naruto and Fu then went into an elaborate and animated re-telling of what happened. From Naruto's first meeting with Fu and Tentomon to his following of Fu to try and talk to her and Tentomon. They explained their own little skirmish before going into the discussion involving their battle against the Zombie Duo of Akatsuki, Hidan and Kakuzu. By the time they finished, Shibuki was practically flabbergasted.
"Ok." Shibuki rubbed his temples to try and ease the migraine he would eventually feel. "Let me get this straight. You two fought against two S-Ranked shinobi members of the Akatsuki and one of these demon creatures like what Fu has..."
"Digimon. They're called Digimon, we explained this to you during the report we just gave you." Fu clarified.
"...ended up just about defeating them with the help of your own...Digimon...and now Fu took the former Yugakure shinobi/Jashinist's scythe as a trophy. Did I miss anything?"
"Nope, that's pretty much everything." Naruto replied. Shibuki sighed as he began to feel the migraine affecting him.
"Tell me...are you sure Kakuzu and Hidan are dead?"
"Hidan is very much dead since we sliced him apart and then burnt him to ashes. We are very much sure those ashes are his remains...but as for Kakuzu..." Fu paused. "...The attacks we used to defeat him could have easily been survivable due to his durability by utilizing Doton: Domu. Plus there is also the speculation that he may have more than one heart since he is a user of our village's kinjutsu, Jiongu."
"I see. Well it was a good move to report this to me. With this information regarding the fact that Kakuzu is a member of the Akatsuki it can help with allowing me to know that I need to reach out to my allies in other villages to help with informing them of the threat Kakuzu poses, and help prevent Fu from being taken from us." Naruto and Fu easily saw the underlying message in the man's words. Allow others stronger than us to do the dirty work, we don't bloody our hands and we still get to keep our weapon. That is what Shibuki was saying.
Naruto was a friend to Shibuki and he saw Shibuki in the same manner, but it seemed that being the village leader made the former coward into a more cold-hearted individual than he would have ever imagined. Not to mention he was a complete douche with how two-faced he was behaving. He was obviously holding back some words due to Naruto's presence in the room as he faced Fu.
"I will be getting started on writing the messages to Takigakure's allies. Is there anything else you all wish to talk about?"
"Not me." Fu immediately said before walking out the door with her new triple bladed scythe. Shibuki sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose when the door slammed behind the green haired jounin.
"Such a handful, that girl."
"Considering how she's treated, I can't imagine why she wouldn't be." Naruto said. "But I won't discuss my feelings towards my fellow jinchuriki, what I want to discuss is this, Shibuki." Naruto sat down in the chair where his noble-blooded charge had been previously sitting. "Due to my...removal...from Konoha, I have been rather out of touch with the rest of the world for the past four years. As a result, I have no idea what's going on or who is going what. In order to make up for that, I am planning to create my own information network. As my friend, and the one who helped you achieve your rise to power as a proper leader of a shinobi village, I would hope that you would accept my invitation to be my ally in this endeavour."
Shibuki smiled at Naruto and nodded his head. "Believe me, Naruto-kun, I would love to accept your invitation. But as a leader of a shinobi village I have to also think of the consequences and benefits of forming such an alliance with you. First off, you are an A-Rank missing-nin and I could just as easily kill you to take your bounty from Konoha, what makes you think I wouldn't be willing to betray you for the sake of my village's prosperity."
"First off..." Naruto broke out into a fit of laughter, pointing animatedly at Shibuki's confused face. "You...kill me?! Shibuki, the world knows of my heritage and my abilities. It's been four years, and you just heard me say that Fu and I took on one of your missing ninja as well as a crazed cult member, and killed the cultist who was proven to be a true immortal. I hardly doubt you could best me in a fight. Secondly, the benefits of this are that I am the guardian of the granddaughter of the Fire Daimyo, and I am also her friend. This places me very closely to the political arena and thus I can help sway Miu-hime in making certain decisions that you may need to be accepted by the Capital involving treaties and/or trading contracts. Thirdly, I have a lot of friends in high places, some of which I will be asking to be members of my information network."
"Is that a threat?"
Naruto ignored that and continued to speak. "And finally...agree to this, and should you wish to part with the girl that I know you see as more of a bother than a potential weapon for your village...I will be more than willing to take her off your hands."
"What makes you think that I see her as a bother to my village?"
Naruto's eyes narrowed. "You are asking a jinchuriki such a question? I see the masked contempt in your eyes Shibuki, I hear the restraint in your voice and notice the pauses in your dialogue when you refer to Fu by her name, as if you want to say something else. People like her and I, we aren't human, we understand that...but we are as hell aren't demons. Now then, tell me...do you wish to accept my proposal to be a part of my information network?"
Shibuki closed his eyes in thought as he ran through the reasons Naruto listed. After a few minutes, Shibuki opened his eyes, dark orbs meeting startling sapphire ones. "You said you have friends in high places that will also take part in this endeavour, or at least, ones you wish to take part in it. Would you mind listing them?"
"Koyuki-hime of Haru no Kuni, I have a few friends in Sunagakure no Sato, and I also plan to include my old sensei, Ero-Se..." Naruto coughed. "I mean...Jiraya of the Sannin."
Shibuki nodded before rising from his chair and stretching out his hand. Naruto smirked before gripping it in a tight handshake.
"So we have an accord?" Naruto asked.
"Indeed we do. I will admit, this might be pretty fun, taking part in this spy network of yours, Naruto-kun."
"Believe me...it will." Naruto chuckled.
Shinjuku City, Japan, Real World
The crescent moon's form slowly began to appear as the last remnants of sunlight vanished from the sky. The burning orb of gas vanished beneath the horizon and night began to rear its head, the bright lights of the metropolis beginning to turn as it did so. However, high up in the sky, a pulse of data flakes raced outwards from the moon's position. The sky then appeared as if it had gained a crack, the swirling gold of the Digital Portal peeking through said crack. Then, massive black claws poked through the rip in space-time, before the crack widened and grew as the claws pried it apart until it was as large as a small car.
Five massive figures then shot out of the portal at great speed, their massive black wings flapping like great birds as the Digital Portal vanished and a small cloud of mist formed as a result of the Digital Field beginning to appear. The five draconian figures then slowed their movements before they rested atop the massive buildings of Shinjuku. Their four crimson eyes shone in the dark; sharp claws twitched and scratched at the thick material that made up the buildings, long, thick tails swished behind them, and their lips curled to form a mixture of a grin and a snarl to reveal the sharp teeth in their maws.
"Devidramon squadron has landed in the Real World, Master." The lead Devidramon growled out. "Priority missions; find and kill Ryo Akiyama."
(A/N: And that's the end of this chapter. Sorry for taking so long in updating this you guys, but I had really bad writer's block when I was making this chapter. So, I hope this length and content makes up for it. Hope you guys liked it and that the fight was entertaining to you guys. I know lot of you think that Naruto would have taken Fu with him and tried to convince Shibuki to do so after everything that happened, but that won't happen until later. I mean, Takigakure is a minor shinobi village and one of the strongest ones BECAUSE of Fu's presence. They lose Fu, they lose their position of power and only something REALLY bad would make Shibuki give up his village's initial source of status and power since the Clan Wars. But hey, it's pretty cool that Fu took Hidan's scythe for her own right? It's a triple-bladed scythe with an elastic cord attached for long range attacks. If that's not awesome to have as a weapon, I don't know what is.
Now I know Hidan dying so early is weird to some people, but it really isn't that big of a deal. First off, Hidan is practically the worst combatant ever, I just made him look good for the sake of the fight scene. But in canon, Hidan just swipes at stuff with the hope of getting someone nicked so he can do the Jashin ritual and stab the shit out of himself. He has no fighting skill whatsoever and thus he is THE weakest member of the main Akatsuki members. It would be very easy to take him down once you know how. It also helps to fight with the Nanabi jinchuriki and have a chakra exoskeleton to prevent yourself from being slashed and/or sliced by a triple bladed retractable scythe.
The next chapter is a bit of a timeskip, taking place a few days later as the other Tamers leave the Log Village and head for Suna. Yes, they will meet Gaara. That's kind of the point for me having them go to Suna, and I'll go into the Devidramon attacking Ryo so as to put some backstory behind the 'Master'.

I am literally near the end of the story as I have reached the Pokemon League segment of the plot. I just want to get that story over with so that I can make a new story idea I have in mind, and also come back to this and Dragonslayer. I apologize for pulling this on your guys after having you all wait so long for this chapter, but I REALLY want to finish Johto Journeys and just finish it.)
