Yuki's P.O.V
The setting sun was so pretty, I wish Tomoe and Machi were here to see it. I stood with some of the Host Club's guests and my little sisters admiring it. Better to be here than with Tamaki and his poisonous snakes. Gosh he is an idiot. A loveable, noble idiot, but an idiot all the same.
I heard some rustling behind me and I spun around.
"Neat, there are chicks here too. Hey, do you girls wanna hang with some locals?" A drunken man about five years older than myself said and everyone looked shocked.
"No thanks, I prefer my men sober and clean, unlike the brewery you bums have come from. Tell me, could you even afford it? Or did you steal it?" I asked with my hand on my hips.
"Oo! We have a feisty one here!" One laughed and I gestured the girls to get behind me.
"This is a private beach! You can't be here!" one of the Host Club guests yelled out but that only made their smiles bigger and creepier.
"Does that mean we're alone?"
"Oh you'll wish you were. Now get lost before I call the police." I said as confident as I could but I was shivering. Usually Machi is here to back me up, and I don't know how I'd go in a fist fight, if they haven't got any weapons that is.
One of them moved forward and a girl behind me screamed. He reached closer to a girl and I kicked him as hard as I could. He hit back and aimed for my bikini. I punched him and held up his collar but a voice told me to stop. I looked behind me and the other had his hands on Misaki and Natsuki.
I froze. What do I do? Oh god, what would Machi do? Suddenly my train of thought was cut as a bucket of assorted shellfish was thrown at one of the guys.
"HEY!" one bum shouted at… Haruhi?
"Haruhi! Go get Kyoya! We need reinforcements pronto!" I shouted but she didn't listen.
"Hey! They told you to leave! So go!" she shouted and the guy smirked. I noticed the other one was starting to try and feel up my sisters, and I felt a white hot rage burn me up.
"Oh yeah? Are you gonna make me?" the guy said getting closer to Haruhi. I looked down onto the sand and tried to see one of the boys. I locked eyes with Tamaki and mouthed one word before he took off. "Haruhi"
The man took another step closer and Haruhi took one back. The guy was obviously mad about the shellfish, and the alcohol in his body didn't help. He held Haruhi by the collar and lifted her up a bit. She was on the side of the cliff, another move and she'll fall!
"Hey! Let's just think about this! You wouldn't do that infront of a pretty girl like me would ya? C'mon, let him go and I'll show you a real treat." I smiled seductively. Please work, please work!
"Let him go? Ok then." He laughed and let her go… off the side of the cliff.
"HARUHI!" Tamaki yelled and jumped off after her. I was still in shock but it wore off when my sisters started sobbing.
"That's it… PREPARE TO DIE!" I shouted kicking a guy in the face and my sister's escaping and running behind me.
"Girls! All of you, go find Kyoya right now! Run!" I said and all the girls disappeared. A bum went for my bikini again and I heard a rip.
Natsuki's P.O.V
I ran with my sister and some girls to Kyoya on the beach with Tamaki and a wet Haruhi nearby with the twins. My stomach and neck still hurt from where that guy was touching me, and my tears were still falling.
"Kyoya!" Misaki yelled and he turned to face us.
"There… are some guys… cliff… Yuki is fighting… you need to help her… please…" she wheezed and the twins also came running.
Kaoru took one look at me and his expression went cold and dark. "Natsuki, who did this to you?" he asked, his voice hostile. I almost crumbled into his arms and the waterworks really started flowing.
"Some guys on the cliff. I was so scared Kaoru." I sobbed. "Please, you have to go and help Yuki, she gave us time to escape but now she's all alone with them." I looked into his hazel eyes and he nodded. All three host's rushed to the cliff, I hope Yuki is ok.
Yuki's P.O.V
I dodged one attack before executing another. These guys were getting tired and frustrated, even though they did manage one thing. Let's just say my top wasn't exactly how it was when I put it on this morning.
"Yuki? Are you alright?" Two voices yelled in unison and I looked to see Kyoya and the twins.
"Kyoya! Quick! Give me your shirt! It's an emergency!" I yelled running to him while the twins enclosed on the two bums. I almost feel sorry for the two drunks now… almost.
"Why? Oh." Kyoya blushed and quickly handed me his top. I put it on and thanked him.
"Are the girls ok?" I asked after his nose had recovered.
"Yes, but the plans have been cancelled and they are all heading to hotels as we speak. When we are done here we will be headed back to my holiday house. Evidently due to the course of events, Haruhi and Tamaki are now in a fight, so it would be best to avoid any direct questions."
"Of course. I hope the emergency flowers were used?"
"Yes, a bouquet is waiting for each guest. Unfortunately this sets the budget back quite a substantial amount."
"Yes we knew that was to be expected. Really Kyoya, you need to put more money into the 'Emergency Tamaki fund'." I smiled.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, let's go." He called but they were too busy disfiguring faces into pulp to notice him. I marched over a hit them both 'lightly' over their heads before dragging them away.
"Kyoya, call an ambulance."
TOMOE'S P.O.V
Dark clouds moved over the sky and the doorbell rang. I ran to the foyer of Kyoya's massive holiday house and one of the house staff opened the door.
"TOMOEEEEE!" I heard a few voices shout and I was stunned to see my sisters. The twins had tear stains down their cheeks and blotchy eyes, while Yuki was wearing an oversized shirt. Behind them were the Host twins, a shirtless Kyoya, Tamaki with his nose up and Haruhi refusing to look at him. Honey was on Mori's back and his eyes lit up when he saw me.
I don't know… but I feel like there has been a wall between us. And my amnesia hasn't been helping. But strands of memories have been coming back, from the jungle. I remember a crocodile, and when I try to remember more my head hurts. Lucky for me, once I start to remember usually all the memories I've forgotten come back within a few hours.
But spending an entire day alone without him has taken its toll. Machi has been resting, her damage worse than mine. And the house staff weren't very entertaining.
"What happened? Are you all ok?" I asked as they hugged me.
"Yeah, there was a fight on a cliff and some guys tried making a pass at us." Misaki said but smiled as Natsuki continued, "But Yuki fought them off and the twins beat them to near death…"
"Oh, really? Thankyou for protecting them." I said looking at the twins. Hikaru smiled indifferently and Kaoru blushed. Huh. "So where were you two then?! You two are meant to be the good fighters, but you left it up to Yuki! You better have a good reason why you weren't there beating the crap outta them!" I shouted at Honey and Mori.
To my surprise Honey and Mori both pulled out massive containers of shellfish, some of it was still alive! "We brought you back this! Can you cook it for us… please?" Honey pleaded his eyes growing big and brown and beauti-
"Fine. I'll see what I can do." I turned away feeling the heat in my cheeks. I think I have a firm grasp of what these feelings are- but I'm not sure that brings me any closer to understanding them. I walked to the kitchen and yelled back at the two shellfish idiots, "Well come on then!" before they got the memo to follow.
Yuki's P.O.V
I arrived to the dining room after Haruhi, I have to meet her father one day… he seems to be a stylish genius! I sat down, and felt that there was something wrong.
A beautiful smell wafted from the kitchen before Tomo arrived with some servants carrying big silver platters with big silver things over them preventing me from seeing the food underneath. But I could see all of our faces in the platters. When one was set down I smiled at Kyoya, and he smiled back, but a fake smile. Weird, he hasn't done that in a while.
"Dinner is served!" Tomoe announced proudly lifting the silver hat off of a dish to reveal some delicious crab. I politely dug in, but there was a heavy air about the room.
Everyone slowly looked at Tamaki and Haruhi. Haruhi was sure digging in herself, I hope she doesn't get crab on her dress, the smell will never come out. She looked nervous, but she also looked like she wouldn't let Tamaki know. I'm guessing their argument isn't over, but her nerves seem to be from something other than the blonde idiot beside her.
I finished my meal and felt comfortably full, but Haruhi was still eating like a steam train. "Umm Haruhi?" Tamaki whimpered and a big bit of Haruhi's dinner hit him square in the face. I tried not to laugh, but I had to hold my hand over my mouth and look away.
"Hey Haruhi, Don't you think you've had enough? Give it a rest." Tamaki said after he recovered from the intrusive food attack.
"I'm sorry; I didn't think you were talking to me." Haruhi said cold and smooth without letting any emotions go but obviously winning the fight. I now have a new respect for that girl.
"Ugh! Kyoya, would you please show me to my room?!" Tamaki huffed and followed Kyoya out of the dining hall. Haruhi 1 – Tamaki -9000.
When they were out of earshot Misaki asked "Hey Haruhi? Are you ok?" She didn't look ok. She looked really worried and a little… green.
"So Boss finally got to you." The red-haired twins spoke in unison.
"You really should learn a little bit of self-defence, maybe martial arts…" one started.
"But it's not like we're gonna force you to." The other finished.
"Martial arts aren't the issue here. Haruhi, everyone was just worried about how recklessly you acted! You should apologise!" Misaki suddenly said grabbing both of Haruhi's hands and looking her dead in the eyes.
"Why? It's not like I caused you guys any trouble or anything." Haruhi grumbled.
"That's not true! Even if you can't see it, you made everyone here worry! Especially Tamaki… he is only angry because he was so worried about you. Cut him some slack, we all know he isn't the best with feelings and expression." Natsuki said putting her hands on Haruhi's and Misaki's.
"So you guys were worried about me? Why?" Haruhi said confused and we all laughed.
"God, you're hopeless Haruhi." Hikaru laughed and we all started laughing too before hugging Haruhi tight.
"I'm sorry guys." Haruhi said… blushing?
"It's ok, we forgive you!" Kaoru said cheerfully relieved. Wait, that doesn't look like a blush from the boys, and she looks really pale and sweaty too.
"Hey Haruhi? Are you ok? You don't look too good…" I asked and she replied in three word Haruhi style.
"I feel sick."
I rushed the boys off of her, "Quick, where's the nearest restroom?"
"This way" Machi answered and I followed her with Haruhi in tow. I could still hear the boys from the kitchen,
"Keep it in Haruhi!"
"Good luck Haru-chan!"
"Hmph!"
"Be strong!"
"We believe in you!"
KYOYA'S P.O.V
I heard a flurry of voices go into my bathroom and then saw two silhouettes leave the room. Lucky, I had just gotten out of the shower, now that would have been a lot of damage control.
I thought of Tamaki. He really is the biggest idiot. I thought of Haruhi. Do they really like each other? Obviously, but I'm sure it would take a far bit of effort. Haruhi. She really is something, something amazing.
The way she doesn't care about status, she doesn't make a fuss, and she's real. She doesn't tell lies, or blackmail, and even though she is a little rude and abrupt, she's smart. She's smarter than anyone will ever know.
Finally after a few unpleasant sounds, Haruhi herself emerged from the bathroom, pale and sweaty, but she looked somewhat relieved. Until she saw me.
"Kyoya-senpai? Sorry, I didn't know you were here." She blushed slightly, noticing my lack of T-shirt, thanks to Yuki. "I'm sorry I made everyone worry earlier."
"Thanks, but I wasn't especially worried. Although I did have a hard time separating Hikaru and Kaoru from those thugs, they needed an ambulance. And not to mention the flowers I was forced to send." I drew the conversation astray; she made me worry beyond comprehension. How could she be so stupid? What would've I done if she was injured? Hurt? Dead? I couldn't bear to live with myself.
"Sorry senpai, I could pay you back for those flowers?" She said in a confidence only she has. Oh Haruhi. Tamaki, you are lucky.
"Each bouquet cost 50,000 yen. That would be a grand total of 600,000 yen and do you really have that kind of money?" I tried my hardest to put up a cool front. Why did she have to be the girl Tamaki loves? Why did she have to be so… Haruhi? Why couldn't she be a drone like the rest? Yuki flashed through my mind, she wasn't a drone. She was real, she was smart, and she didn't make me worry so much. So why was it Haruhi before me? This would be so much easier if it wasn't her.
"Uh Kyoya? Why did you turn the lights off?" Those big brown eyes were wide and I hadn't even noticed what I was doing. I quickly constructed a plan, depending on which, would be my future and Haruhi's too. And she did need to learn a lesson on defence.
"You really think a person's gender doesn't matter? How could you be so naïve? If you can't pay me with money, why not your body?" I said and was on top of her in an instant. But she didn't even look phased.
"So that's it. You won't do it Kyoya, there's nothing to be gained." She didn't miss a heartbeat, unlike me. The plan was over. She made the right choice; I didn't doubt her for a second.
"You're right", I got off of her and sat of the end of my bed, "You are a fascinating young woman Haruhi." This was it. I give up on her. I refuse to love Haruhi, she's all yours Tamaki. I'll push away my feelings, nothing short of what I usually do. She deserves to be happy, and I think she'll be happiest with him. If it wasn't for that I don't think I'd be able to let go. I could feel my stupid infatuation crumbling and falling away, the weight left me.
"But I've learnt something from this; I never knew you were such a nice person senpai. I know what you were doing, just trying to reinforce what Tamaki said earlier. You try being so cold and heartless, but you do care quite a bit." She said casually like she was talking about the weather. "You don't have to be the bad guy y'know."
Oh but I do, it's the only way I ever get through to you idiots. I smiled, but I know she won't have seen it.
"Hey Kyoya, do you have any lotion? This sunburn is worse than I- YOU BASTARD!" Tamaki burst into the room. I quickly grabbed the lotion from beside my bed and shoved it into his chest before he could make sense of it.
"Use as much as you want you big goof. Oh and I invented a new thing, it's called knocking." I rushed. To have such a stupid best friend, I hope he's ready.
But behind him slightly I saw Yuki, her eyes wider than ever. Oh no, she'll make sense of this quicker than I can tell her not to worry. I have a choice, and as crazy as it sounds, I choose Yuki. But her eyes were quickly filling with tears. I hope I'm not too late.
"What is this?!" She shouted. It's not what you think. "What the hell Kyoya?! Why were you in here with Haruhi?! Alone! With the lights off for f*cks sake! Y'know what?! Sleep around with whoever you want, but don't lead me on! Screw you!"
She ran down the hall. I realised my hand was outstretched, but my hand fell. It turned into a fist as I ran after her. "YUKI!" YUKI YOU IDIOT!" I shouted catching up with her.
"What do you want-" I cut her off, grabbing her wrist tightly and pulling her back. She landed against the hallway wall and I moved forward into her, hold her wrist tightly against the wall and holding the side of her jawline with my other hand.
"I love you Yuki." I crushed my lips against hers. Her surprise quickly faded and she kissed me back. It was hot and fiery, and only stopped when she needed to catch her breath.
"Yuki, I'm sorry I-"
She cut me off pushing a finger to my lips. "Tell me later, we're busy now." and she reached up to continue our moment.
Why did I choose her? It wasn't my father, the marriage or even her money. It was her. Even when I was with Haruhi, she was on my mind. She's beautiful, funny and if I was with Haruhi, I'd get bored. But with Yuki, she doesn't ever stop. I can be whatever side of myself and she'll accept it no matter what. Tamaki will get to know how smart Haruhi truly is, but I already know. Yuki's cleverness never ceases to amaze me. I want her, she's mine. It was her… all along.
"I love you Kyoya." She whispered and I smiled like I never have before.
Don't worry fellow readers, this isn't a 'they get together and that's it' kind of deal. You haven't heard the last of them yet!
The next chapter may be late as I am going somewhere without wifi. Boo.
See you then!
