OK, everyone! This is the leading chapter to a very eventful... event. I hope you enjoy every minute of the next chapter, I worked- or I will work very hard on it. But plz enjoy this one. thx!
Brick sat up and checked the time. 8:42... They won't have to check out till 12. He was about to cuddle back into Blossom when he realized he was about to cuddle back into Blossom. He quickly sat up and rubbed his eyes, checking the floor to see if the two blondes were back.
"Heehee, decided to cozy up next to Bloss?" Boomer asked, chuckling breathlessly.
He was sitting by the door, His shirt half ripped and tied about his lower abdomon where blood was visible and a handgun ready in his hand. He was very dirty and had a couple bruises. Brick shot out of bed and ran to his side. Boomer half-heartedly slappped his hands away.
"He'll be fine..." Bubbles muttered from her position across the room, under the window. She had her hair in one pigtail and small glasses on the tip of her nose, and was typing away on a laptop. "He only got shot once, and it was below his stomach. Went right through." She said, adding a smile at the end.
"Yeah, thanks for that too." Boomer said sarcastically.
"Whoa, you shot him?" Brick asked, standing up.
"I had to! We're still on enemy agencies, and it has to look like we haven't compromised our positions! That's why I shot through him. I actually saved his life, you see, he was being gunned down by our squandron and-"
"Spare me the details. You sure he'll be alright? I don't want him dying on me. I just got him back." Brick asked.
"I'll be fine." Boomer said, breathing carefully. Butch sat up and stretched before taking in the scene.
"Woah, what happened in here?" Butch asked. Brick suddenly got aware of Blossom still laying in bed.
"Butch, shh! Don't wake Blossom, she might not want to see this stuff..." Brick whispered.
"Why?" Butch whispered getting out of bed and digging through Brick's suitcase.
"Well, she was crying last night and, well, it might've been because she got overwhelmed with all the guns and actions and stuff." Brick whispered going into the bathroom.
Bubbles stopped typing for a moment before she continued with her clacking.
"Wimp..." Butch whispered, throwing a big red shirt over to Boomer, landing it on his face.
"Ah thanks. Mm, this smells like Brick." Boomer muttered quietly, leaving it by his nose a moment longer. Brick hit him over his head with the moist towel he brought over from the bathroom.
"Please, don't. Sniff my shirt." He whispered sharply and knelt down next to him to wipe off exsess, drying blood. Once he finished, he took the gun from Boomer while he put the shirt on.
"I have a mission." Bubbles said above a whisper.
"We both have a mission." Boomer said pointedly.
"You guys leaving again?" Brick asked. Boomer and Bubbles winced. Busted.
"We're sorry but we can't just... ignore our jobs." Boomer said defensively.
"And no, we're not leaving again. It's actually in California. So we'll be travelling that far with you guys." Bubbles explained.
"What's your mission?" Blossom asked, sitting awake in bed. Everyone turned to look at her.
"...How long you been awake?" Brick asked quietly.
"Not long. I heard they left last night." Blossom replied quietly. "What happened?"
"We just got our missions!" Bubbles replied quickly. Her eyes darted to Boomer, who only looked like he was relaxing by the door. "That's all. You... There's not much to worry about, we only got missions." She explained nervously. Blossom could tell she was nervous because she always rambled when she was nervous. She gave her an analytical gaze before continuing.
"What's your mission?" She asked again.
"That's classified." Boomer told her, but Bubbles put her hand up as if to silence him.
"I'll tell you what my mission is." Bubbles said, removing her glasses.
"But we have the same mission!" Boomer whined.
"We were told to go to Californa, because there's been reported illegal street races with many illegal underground big shots who bet on these races to get thier money. Our mission is to go and shut down the race and take down or take in all the leaders. It's actually kind of like a race between our angencies to see which will take them down first." Bubbles explained very proffesionally. Blossom nodded the whole time.
"OK. We'll go with you. We have a while to find Buttercup, it's a big state. Plus, with your government clearance, I'm sure you guys can track down where ever she is after your mission."
"Ok, I'm ok with that!" Bubbles nodded cheerfully. Blossom gave a curt nod before heading into the bathroom. Brick watched her go, worrying what she might be thinking about. Butch laughed excitedly.
"Cool! I've never been to a street race before! You guys gonna steal a car when we get there or...?" Butch asked.
"Nah." Boomer smiled very happily. "They gave us our cars last night. Beautiful." he said, whispering the last part.
"No. Way! What do they look like?" Butch asked, getting revved up. Boomer smiled knowingly.
do-doo-do-!-
"Oh. My. GOD!"Butch exclaimed, staing at the two sleek cars sitting in the parking lot. One was a Bright blue Lamborghini Gallardo and the other was a royal blue Scion FR-S.
"oh, oh, I got to ride with one of you guys!"
"They've been modifed." Boomer said proudly. Now he was wearing a dark blue shirt with a black leather jacket and jeans. Butch was wearing a back shortsleeve muscle shirt and jeans. Bubbles wore a spagetti strap black top with white leather jacket and skinny jeans.
"For racing." Bubbles finished. She also couldn't keep from smiling.
"OH! Should I ride in the Lamborghini? Or- or maybe the Scion! OHMG, I'm soo happy you guys are here!" Butch squealed like a little girl in a candy shop. Brick laughed at him from the door of their room. He was wearing the shirt boomer had been given with baggy dark jeans. Blossom stood silently next to him wearing a red dress shirt and a white skirt. It was short enough to turn heads. She stood and stared at Bubbles, who was sharing a laugh with Boomer about Butch's behavior.
Was this the thing Blossom was scared of finding? She thought she'd be jealous if she found them doing exactly what they set out to do. She thought she'd be heartbroken if they were thrown out on the street, with nothing. But this was different. She failed at what she aimed for but excelled at something different and it was... different. She wasn't sure how she felt about it, but it made her feel worse then the other two combined.
"Blossom!" Brick yelled. She turned to him.
"Jeez, you didn't have to yell!" She yelled back.
"Yes I did! You weren't responding!" Brick argued.
"Well, what is it?" She asked indignantly.
"Do you want to ride with your sister or with Boomer?"
"That's a stupid queston! With you!"
"Then go- what?" He asked, expecting different.
"I'm riding with you." She said again, walking off. He looked after her, confused.
do-dooo-do-do-
The three cars road down the highway leading straight to California. Many teenagers in their cars pulled out phones to take pictures of the 3 sexy cars.
Butch's shouts of joy resounded through the road, and Brick clearly heard it from his car.
"Geez, won't anyone tell him to shut up?" Brick mumbled. The silence of the car continued to stretch on. Brick couldn't think of anything to say to her.
"Uh-"
"Brick?" Blossom said suddenly. He looked to her but she kept her face forward.
"Uh, yeah, what is it?"
"Bubbles. She... She's different than what I remember, you know? I wasn't expecting her to-"
"Not need you anymore? Blossom, did you think Boomer and Butch- well Butch was like that when I last saw him but, do you think Boomer was like this when I last saw him? No, he changed. But I was proud because, as a leader, I only want to see them succeed." Blossom nodded slightly.
"I understand that much but, what about what she's doing? Isn't that, isn't it-"
"Aren't you just trying to justify what you're feeling? You have to trust your sister- both your sisters, cause Buttercup's not gonna be the same either, has chosen right and know what their doing. And you have to support them, even if they're doing is wrong."
"Hmp. That's some twisted Rowdy ruff morals you got there." Blossom huffed, a little annoyed at how right he was. "You've gotten some wise on you in the years, huh?"
"Well, losing your family can do that to ya."
Some silence went by.
"Brick?"
"Hm?"
"... Thank you... for-"
"Don't mention it."
Blossom smiled. What was she thinking? Brick was going through the same thing she was, seeing what his brothers had become, yet he wasn't freaking with this maternal leader-ish protection. Well, she won't keep doing it. She'll have to straighten up and believe in her. Both of them. Blossom pouted.
"I'm hungry!" Brick smirked at her.
"Aye-aye, captain." He replied, chuckling.
Well, I didn't want to exceed the word count of 2000, to keep the pace of previous chapters. But the next chapter, you guys will love!
