"Altager, I'm going to show you the card that cost me my brother now. I overlay Bear and Gorilla to build the Overlay Network!" At these words Gorrilla and Bear transformed into orbs of light and flew into a galaxy shaped Overlay Network. "Great dazzlingly gem of strength and beauty, awaken to my side and help me shatter my enemies resolve." A bright burst of white light and the number "52" glowed in yellow. "Xyz Summon! Shatter all and defend all, Number 52: Great Wall, Diamond Crab King!" With a burst of energy and a shockwave a large crab-like monster appeared on Yagumo's field with a body made of diamond and the number "52" glowing on a claw in bright yellow, uttering a mighty roar.

Dusk stood there looking at this Number unsure of how to react still. However as Yagumo gestured at him, and moved his lips, Dusk realized he had gone temporarily death when monster had roared, as he heard nothing Yagumo said. The next thing he knew Number 52 was charging him an Overlay Unit gone and it hit him like a freight train, throwing him to the he cried out in shock he realized he could hear himself and knew his brief hearing loss was over.

"Kyoji." he said simply looking at his friend turned enemy. "I guess I really can't show mercy, I'm going all out!" Dusk declared in a strong voice, feeling strenght flow through him suddenly and noticed a faint light glowing around him and Yagumo.
Chapter 10: Yagumo's Plot Part II - Altager's Hope! Birth of a Shining Dream!
Cloud entered the house and saw that it was empty. "Hmm, Dusk must be out….." he mused to himself as Maltox followed him in. "I wonder what he's up to…"
"Most likely trying to steal some loli's panties." Maltox said simply.
As he was about to draw from his deck, Dusk suddenly sneezed. "Dammit," he said looking at Yagumo briefly distracted. "Why do I get the feeling that someone is talking shit about me somewhere right now?" He immediately shakes his head and tries to refocus himself mentally. "Okay," he thinks to himself. "How the hell am I gonna get myself out of this one? And at the same time, how the hell can I save Kyoji from that Number?" He glances at his deck and mentally shrugs. "Guess I should just wing it based on this next draw." Dusk places his hand on top his deck. "My turn, DRAW!" Dusk draws one card from his deck, and looks at it. "Okay, this might help me a bit."

"I activate Spellbook of Secrets. This will let me add one Spellbook to my hand." One card slips out of his deck. "I add Spellbook of Enchantment to my hand. Next I normal summon my Summoner Monk." With a simple sigh a wizened old monk appeared on Dusk's field.

While this card is face-up on the field, it cannot be Tributed. If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: Change this card to Defense Position. Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell Card; Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your Deck, but that monster cannot attack this turn.
"Due to Summoner Monk's effect he is immediately switched to Defense mode upon his summon." Summoner Monk turned blue and sat down cross-legged on his field. "Next I activate his other effect, by sending one Spell from my hand to the grave, I can call out a level four monster from my deck." Dusk holds up a Spell card, "I send Spellbook of Eternity to the grave to Special Summon Milla, the Temporal Magician in defense mode." With a flash of light a shapely female mage with white hair and a golden staff appeared on Dusk's field looking relatively bemused.

When this card is Normal Summoned: Target 1 Set card your opponent controls; look at it. Your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards in response to this effect's activation.
Yagumo began to laugh again. "It doesn't matter how many defenses you put up. My Crab will crush them all, and there is nothing you can summon that is capable of overcoming it's offensive and defensive power."
"We'll see about that Kyoji." At this point Dusk raised his right hand up in the air. "I overlay the level four Summoner Monk and the level four Milla, the Temporal Magician to build the Overlay Network." A galaxy-shaped Overlay Network appeared in front of Dusk and his monsters turned into orbs of light and flew into it as he began to chant. "Oh warrior who walks the greatest of balances, that of Light and Darkness, I bid you to please come to my aid In this hour." As he spoke a dark thick mist began to swirl around the battlefield and the number "02" shined in a bright purple within the mist as the sound of an Overlay Network opening echoed through the area. In the dark mist a figure could be seen walking towards the battlefield. "Help me in my fight, Number 2: Knight of Balance, Twilight Knight!" The mist rolled away, revealing a knight wearing a tattered blue cloak over armor a broadsword at his left hip and the head of an unknown monster hanging from the other, two overlay units circled around him.

Negate the effects of all other face-up cards on the field, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; Banish it. During the End Phase Special Summon it back to their side of the field in face-up Attack Position. "Number 2: Knight of Balance, Twilight Knight" cannot declare an attack until your next turn after you activate and resolve this effect.
"I activate Twilight Knight's special ability." Dusk says solemnly looking at Yagumo, pity in his eyes once more. "By using one Overlay Unit I can negate all other card effects on the field, and then Banish one monster you control until the end of the turn." Twilight Knight drew his sword and struck one of the Overlay Units circling him with it and and more mist covered the field, turning all of Yagumo's Fire Formations first to stone, and then shattering them. Then Twilight Knight dashed towards Diamond Crap King and struck it with his sword. "I exclude Diamond Crab King from the game." After it was struck, Diamond Crap King roared as it was surrounded by the mist and disappeared.
At this point Yagumo actually looked a bit unnerved before breaking into more laughter. "Nice attempt, but now your precious monster can't attack me and press his advantage." He pointed at Dusk and grinned maliciously. "You wasted your monster's power and your entire turn. And for what? Nothing that's what!"
Dusk simply looked at Yagumo. "That's where you wrong Kyoji." Dusk pointed skyward and the battlefield once again became covered in more swirling mist. "I rebuild the Overlay Network with Number 2: Knight of Balance, Twilight Knight!" As he said this, Twilight Knight looked at Yagumo and gave a small salute of honor before fading away into the mist. "Oh great warrior who seeks more enlightenment in the way of balance, come to my side as my ally in my time of need. I beseech thy as it is truly my darkest hour, and I need a miracle!" The mist began to glow with white light as the number "02" glowed in light purple in front of Dusk. "Go Chaos Xyz Evolution! Come to my aid in my most desperate hour, Chaos Number 2: Knight of Balance, Twilight Knight Cor!" The light and mist faded away and a man walked onto the field in front of Dusk, his armor worn from years of war, his cloak reduced to a scarf wrapped around his neck a shield and broadsword hanging from his back; two Overlay Units circling around him.

During the Battle Phase (you or your opponents) if a card or effect is activated that targets at least 1 DARK or LIGHT monster you control; you can detach one Xyz Material from this card, negate the activation and destroy that card. Dusk simply looked at Yagumo. "You were saying Kyoji?"
Yagumo merely glared at Dusk and chose not to answer.
"I thought as much. Now go Twilight Knight Cor! Attack Kyoji directly and try to wake him up! With a solemn nod Twilight Knight Cor leapt towards Yagumo and drew his sword and brought it down in the air in front of him as he landed, the shockwave throwing Yagumo back with a groan.

"I Set two cards face down and end my turn." Two Set cards appeared on Dusk's field and Number 52 returned to Yagumo's field.
Number 52: Diamond Crab King - Overlay Units: 0 ATK/ 0 DEF/ 3000
Yagumo slowly got to his feet and glared at Dusk.
Dusk just looked at Yagumo with even more pity in his eyes. "I feel sorry for what happened to you Kyoji, and even more sorry that the Barian World is part of what occurred. But what you're doing isn't the right thing." Here Dusk closed his eyes and shook his head. "Kyoji, is this really what you think your brother would want for you? Do you think he would want you to keep living and suffering, hating like this?"
"SHUT UP!" Yagumo screamed. "JUST SHUT UP! What makes you think you know a thing about this!? What gives you the right to tell me that what I'm doing is wrong?! I'll show you all my power, and avenge my brother my own way!" Yagumo began to glow with red energy as he reached for his deck. "My turn, DRAW!" Yagumo draws the top card from his deck and upon looking at grins evilly. "This will shake things up for sure."

"First thing's first, I switch Number 52 into Defense Mode." Number 52 turned blue and resumed it's guarded stance. "Next I activate the Spell Card: Contract of the SIns!" A card flips up on Yagumo's field. "This card let's me treat any Spells and Traps I control as the necessary materials needed for an Xyz Summon."
"What?!" Dusk exclaimed.
"Now it's time for the fun to truly begin!" Yagumo begins point to the sky. "I Overlay all of my Fire Formation cards as level twelve monsters to build the Overlay Network!" As he spoke his Fire Formation cards lifted into the sky and transformed into orbs of light and flew into a galaxy-shaped Overlay Network in front of Yagumo.
Having defeated the Number's Avatar and acquired the Alternate Number Dusk had made for him, Cloud drove home quickly on his Duel Runner however out of the corner of his eye he saw a bright flash of red light. "I've got a bad feeling about this…." he said to himself as he turned his Duel Runner towards the light and but on an intense burst of speed in the direction he saw. He barely had been that way a few seconds before his Duel Tattoo activated and he saw a display pop up on his Duel Pad showing a Duel. It was between Yagumo and Dusk, and Yagumo appeared to have a pretty evil look on his face. "What the hell?" Cloud immediately braked and turned his Duel Runner to the left and hurried towards them. "Please be in time…"
Yagumo spread his arms wide. "Threads that rule the false heaven! Become a fleeting illusion and guide my disintegrating soul!" At this point the number "77" flashed in black before him and a shockwave filled the area. "Come forth Number 77! The Seven Sins!" With an ear splitting shriek, a large spider-like monstrosity with three Overlay Units circling around it appeared on Yagumo's field,

"See this Altager? This is your doom!" Yagumo began laughing cruelly at this point. "I activate the effect of Seven Sins! By using one Overlay Unit; I can destroy all monsters you control," as he said these words Seven Sins absorbed one of it's Overlay Units and emitted a shockwave across the battlefield as Twilight Knight Cor cried out in pain and vanished from the field; "and then make them this card's Overlay Units!"
Number 77: The Seven Sins - Overlay Units: 3 - 2 - 3
Dusk simply looked at this monstrosity before unsure of what to do as Yagumo ordered his monster to attack when a voice cut through the air. "Oh hell no, you do not give up that easily!" Dusk snapped out his stunned trance and looked over to see Cloud driving up on his Duel Runner as he turned it and slid into a stop. "Don't wimp out here, I know you must have something Set you can defend with!"
Dusk gasped. "He's right, there is one thing, but it is a gamble, if he can stop it I'm finished." He looked over at Cloud relieved to see he was alright and nodded. "Kyoji, this is nowhere near my doom! Trap activate FORCED TREATY! One of Dusk's two Set cards flipped face up. "This trap negates one attack and ends the battle phase allowing us each to draw one card!"
Yagumo grinned. "So you managed to hang on after all. No matter, next turn your are mine."
"We'll see, I activate Xyz Reborn! Come back to me Nightmare Shark!" With a triumphant roar Nightmare Shark bursts from the ground onto Dusk's field.
Number 47: Marine Menace, Nightmare Shark - Overlay Units: 1
"I set two cards face-down and end my turn." Yagumo sets two cards.
Dusk simply stands there for a minute focusing, knowing this draw would determine everything. "I'm not going to lose here Kyoji! DRAW!" Dusk draws one card from his deck.
Turn 5 - Dusk

Dusk looks at the card he drew and groans.
"Not the card you needed eh Barian Scum?" Yagumo says taunting him. "Well to bad for you, I have everything I need! Reverse Card open! Fiendish Chain bind that stupid shark!" One of Yagumo's Set cards activates and chains fly out of it and wrap around Nightmare Shark. "Now you are effectively sealed."
Dusk stood there, unsure of what to do. "Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! Is there really nothing I can do?" He grabbed his head with both hands. "I need help, someone, anyone help me!" At this point he once again saw white light glowing around himself and Yagumo, as well as Cloud and Maltox who had materialized to watch the duel. Then in his minds eye he saw this light transform into chains leading to each of their hearts as well as branching off and leading to the hearts of others he had met since arriving in Heartland. As he watched these chains continuously form and intersect they all began to come together at one point, the Number on his field, the card that represented his nightmare began glowing. "I see now, I have all the help I need. My bonds will help me awaken from this nightmare, and turn it into a dream of hope." Dusk grinned. "I can still win this." He lifted his head up and looked at Yagumo. "I won't lose to you here, I can see it clearly here. The bonds you and I have formed as well the ones I formed with everyone else I met here, they will let me win today!" White light began to shine around Dusk as he lifted his hand up pointed to the sky.
"I have no idea what you are saying, but before me it is meaningless" Yagumo said. "I have your field locked down, nothing can change that."
"Something can and will Kyoji. I Rebuild the Overlay Network with Number 47: Marine Menace Nightmare Shark! With this one monster I build the Shining Overlay Network of a new dream!" As he spoke these words Nightmare Shark broke free of it's chains and roared as it turned into a ball of light and flew into a white galaxy-shaped Overlay Network. "Power of Bonds, shine forth and awaken me at last from my never ending nightmare. Give birth to a new dream of hope!" The number "47" glowed in white before Dusk as a bright aqua colored burst of light erupted from the Overlay Network. "GO! SHINING XYZ EVOLUTION! SURGE THROUGH THE DARKNESS AND INTO THE LIGHT MY NEW HOPE! SHINING NUMBER 47: HOPE OF THE SEA, SAVIOUR SHARK!" Dusk cried out as out of the light flew a large shark-like dragon the number "47" glowing on it's aqua body in white as it gave a great bellow that was meant to be a battle cry, two Overlay Units circling it.

During your turn, you can detach any number of Xyz Materials from this card and and for each one apply the following effects:
*1: Negate the effects of all other cards on the field, then if you Life Points are 1000 or less; reduce the ATK of 1 monster your opponent controls to 0.
*2: Target 1 monster you control, this turn only that monster can attack; but it can attack your opponent directly.
During your Main Phase 1, if your Life Points are 1000 or less, you can reduce your Life Points to 1; then target 1 monster your opponent controls, this card gains ATK equal to that monster's original ATK until the End Phase. If you do not reduce your opponent's Life Points to 0 the turn you activate this effect, you lose the Duel. Cloud and Yagumo were speechless. Shining Xyz Evolution? Neither of them had heard of such a thing before.
Dusk simply looked at Yagumo. "I'm ending this here and now Kyoji, time to wake you up. I activate Saviour Shark's special ability. If Nightmare Shark is one of his Overlay Units, and my life is a thousand or less, I can reduce my life to one."
Dusk - LP: 1000 - 1
"To increase Saviour Shark's attack by the original attack of a monster you control. I pick Number 77: The Seven Sins." At this point a blast of water erupted beneath Seven Sins and and it shrieked loudly, the the water suddenly vanished.
Shining Number 47: Hope of the Sea, Saviour Shark - ATK: 2500 - 6500
"Next I activate the effect of Saviour Shark, by using one Overlay Unit I can negate all other card effects on the field, and if my life is below a thousand I can reduce one of your monster's attack points to zero. Seven Sins attack points become zero" Saviour Shark roared and ice covered the battle field and froze Seven Sins solid.
Number 77: The Seven Sins - ATK: 4000 - 0
"This is the end Kyoji!"
Yagumo's face contorted into a snarling grimace. "We'll see about that!"
"Go Saviour Shark! Attack Seven Sins and free Yagumo from his imprisoning nightmare!" With an obliging roar Saviour Shark flew towards Seven Sins and blasted it with a torrent of light obliterating the card instantly the blinding shockwave covering the entire plaza and throwing Yagumo off his feet.
"TRAP ACTIVATE!" Yagumo yelled as he fell. "Banishment of Sin! When a monster with "Sin" in it's name is destroyed by battle, I can banish it instead of sending to the grave and then my opponent takes all the battle damage from the battle with me!" A larger shockwave shakes the plaza and throws Dusk off his feet and he Yagumo hit the ground together as their Life Points fall to zero.

DRAW
A loud buzzer signifying a draw goes off as the A-R shuts itself off and Cloud leaps off his Duel Runner to help Dusk to his feet. "Are you okay?"
"I've been better," Dusk says grasping Cloud's outstretched hand and starts to slowly get to his feet.
"That thing you did, Shining Xyz Evolution, when did you learn it?"
"Just now."
"Dude, that's kind of an asspull."
"Yeah I know…" Dusk looks over to where Yagumo was, and sees that he's gone. "Damnit! Where'd he go?" Dusk tries to run off in the direction Yagumo was standing but Cloud holds back.
"Cool it bro."
"Like hell I will!" Dusk struggled against Cloud's grip. "I've got to find, I've got to save hi-"
*WHACK*
"Calm down already!" Cloud said pulling Dusk pack to his feet after knocking him upside the head with enough force to make him collapse. "Think about it lolicon man," Dusk glared at him here; "in your current state what good can you do him?" Cloud waited for a few seconds to see if Dusk would respond but when he didn't Cloud nodded. "I thought as much. Nothing. There is nothing you can do for him right now, make your deck better and find a strategy, then you can beat him."
Dusk simply stood up and dusted himself off. "You're right." And he turned on his heel and started to walk away, Cloud following him. All of a sudden Dusk turned around and punched Cloud hard in the gut. "I also told you to never call me that asshole."
Cloud chuckled and grinned. "That's the Altager I know and love." he wheezed.
Dusk despite himself grinned too. "Whatever, let's go home."
