Its a shame that such beautiful interior design has to be destroyed in a heated battle.
Rocks, vines, killer rays and balls of fire littered the air, destroying everything in its path. (Even that nice, beautiful painting of the Digimon Sovereigns in their glory) Neither side was giving up.
Suddenly, as the dust settled, Amber fell on the ground.
Hera smirked as she approached the fallen girl. She held a hand towards her, preparing the final blow.
However, instead of blasting Amber, her arm was suddenly swerved towards the wall, causing her to blast it instead.
"YOU!" She glares at Neo who just blasted her with a fireball.
"Tell me..." Neo angrily demanded.
"We already told you;" Gaia chuckled, "Just come with us, and..."
"Not our Digimons." Neo corrected, "Satan. Is he the reason the Digimons disappeared?"
"Why don't you find out for yourself?" Gaia replied.
Suddenly, the two goddesses eyes glowed brightly as they were enveloped in a ray of light. Neo shielded his eyes before they could get scorched and he'd end up blind. The next thing he knew, the ceiling above him was crumbling down. When he opened his eyes, they widened with shock upon seeing the two now gigantic goddesses.
The two goddesses brought their hands down in order to grab the fire users. Hera managed to grab Amber, but before Gaia could reach Neo, he blocked her with a fire shield, burning her hand in the process.
"NEO!" Davis cried as he and the other Digidestineds arrived.
Upon seeing the kids, Gaia summoned a cage of vines to trap them in, but it was completely burned by Neo.
"I need a distraction." Neo whispered as he helped his friends out.
Yolei and Izzy pondered as they looked up at the towering goddesses.
"You got it." They replied.
"Hey Mother Nature!" Thea called, catching Gaia's attention, "I heard people just want to pull the Natural Look, but I think you're over-doing it!"
Angered, Gaia summoned vines to attack her,but she quickly dodged them.
"Hey Lady!" Kevin called, catching Hera's attention, "I heard Zeus married you just for your looks! Or was that in the comics too?!"
Hera angrily stomped her feet at Kevin, only to miss. The other Digidestineds joined in on the taunting while Neo stealthily hid behind the goddesses.
While the others were distracting the goddesses, Neo faced the palms of his hands downwards as he conjured up fire. However, it wasn't strong enough. He thrusts his hands downwards repeatedly until he shot out a column of fire strong enough to carry him into the air.
Hera was too busy trying to destroy the insulting kids to notice Neo until he grabbed a still unconscious Amber from her gigantic hand. Then... they fell on the ground. (Well actually, they fell on a roof, then fell on some cacti growing on a windowsill, then another roof, and then the ground)
"Uh... Hi?" Neo greeted nervously.
In response, Gaia unleashed her thorny wrath at him.
Luckily for Neo, Davis dragged him and Amber to safety, and into the nearest still standing room they could find.
"Anyone took a course in Weaponry?" Mimi asked when the group found out they were in the Weapon Room.
Before anyone could reply, the goddesses barged through the barricaded door. In retrospect, there was no point in them locking the door since they were dealing with two almighty GODESSES.
On the bright side, Amber woke up.
"Everyone, stay back!" She barked before grabbing the nearest weapon, a boomerang, set it ablaze and threw it towards the goddesses.
Unfortunately for her, they have fast reflexes. And impressive resistance to fire.
"You know what?" Hera smirked before she and Gaia shrunk to human size. The Former Queen was armed with swords, "We'll go easy on you."
Amber growled as she grabbed the nearest sword and clashed with the goddess. She was too focused on her rage that she didn't notice Gaia summoning a vine to wrap around her leg and trip her.
The goddess towered over the fallen girl, sword raised, "He never did like you anyway."
Clang!
The goddess growled in anger when Neo got in the way and stopped her sword with his own sword. The other watched in complete bewilderment as Neo skillfully clashed swords with the goddess. That's when they noticed the vines sprouting from beneath Neo's feet.
Before they could warn him, Neo has already slashed the vines with his sword. Then, his eyes glowed with flames.
Hera stalked behind him, both swords raised. But just as she brought them down, Neo set his sword ablaze and swung it at the goddess, blasting a column of fire towards her and sending her crashing on the wall, badly burnt. (Just to clarify; he can control the intensity of his flames. So not to worry. Hera only got a few burn marks on her.)
The goddess coughed before glaring at the Digidestined. However, her anger turned to match the complete shock that plastered in everyone's faces at the sight before them;
Neo was glowing. His eyes retained that burning glow. Flames surrounded him, taking the form of a fiery bird. Then, the next thing everyone knew... he fainted out of exhaustion.
Gaia glared at the Digidestineds as they ran over to check on their fallen friend while she picked up a still shaken Hera off the ground, "This isn't over, Destineds."
Amber ran to tackle the goddesses, only for them to vanish in a flash of light. The girl grunted as she fell face-flat on the ground.
Neo woke up with a groan, only to find the two goddesses gone. Dang it. Once more did he lose his only lead to their Digimon Friends.
Tai approached Amber, offering a hand to her, "Hey. Sorry we..."
Amber angrily slapped his hand away, glaring blazing daggers at the Digidestined, "This is all YOUR FAULT! This was suppose to be MY MISSION, NOT YOURS! Leave me be, OR ELSE!"
The Digidestined flinched at her sudden outburst. Neo was taken back by surprise, but notice there was something, familiar about her anger.
The girl leaped out of a nearby window. The Digidestined rushed over, worried she might fall, but was surprised that she was hovering away from the Digital Castle, supported by two columns of fire she was shooting from her hands.
As he watches her go, Neo couldn't help but wonder who that girl is.
And why does she seam so familiar to him?
Never has she experience so much humiliation.
It was bad enough that she was dethroned by a bunch of lowly demigods, but to lose to, that brat...!
"You know it doesn't surprise me that you'd give up that easily."
Hera and Gaia resist the urge to strangle the mocking voice of their leader.
"After all," The leader went on while sipping on a red liquid, "the boy has potential."
"Yet he hasn't fully awakened." Gaia pointed out.
"Oh he will eventually." The leader assured, sinister eyes glowing an eerie red, "He just needs the right wake up call."
