Epilogue
Megan woke up in hospital after a week, and saw her parents a final time. She passed away shortly after. Her parents received no satisfactory explanation for how she ended up in an explosion in Norway. The cover story of a gas leak did not explain her presence there.
Sarah's parents divorced shortly after her death as they couldn't cope. Her funeral was held a week later. Again no satisfactory explanation was provided.
Macey recovered much more quickly than expected in hospital and filled in as much of the story as she could to the CIA.
Catherine, Dr Steve and Dillon all woke up on various street corners wearing onesies. Nobody in the Circle of Cavan splinter group mentioned the incident again. Their search for the Circle leaders went on as if nothing had happened.
The body of the person behind the onesie hypnosis was never found. It is assumed she was too close to the explosion for anything to remain intact.
Sarah and Megan's friend Sam suspected something close to the truth, but was too afraid to act on their feelings, and sensibly too.
Over 200 people died in the explosion that night. Twelve Australians were found shot dead next to Anti-Onesie placards in Sydney.
Yet the world kept turning.
Gallagher went on, and the fight against the Circle continued.
Despite all the needless deaths, the world continued on as if nothing had happened. The conspiracy theories continued to be widely circulated for a few months then gradually faded away.
In the end, the world forgot.
A/N: I felt I'd left this somewhat unfinished. I'm not making the ending any happier, the moral of the story is still that if you play with fire there's a good chance you'll end up getting burned. And since United We Spy completely failed to kill of anyone we actually liked, I feel that the Gallagher Girls fandom needs a little sadness.
This story takes place between OSOT and UWS. I'd say it doesn't contradict anything too much but to be honest I was so disappointed with United We Spy I haven't looked at it much since it came out and I don't have my copy to hand. I hope you enjoyed the story, and it wasn't too weird. Feel free to ask me any questions about stuff you didn't understand and I'll try to clarify anything that's not really clear. There have been some edits of earlier chapters to replace some stuff that needed replacing because it was irrelevant/outdated/embarrassing. It shouldn't change the story too much at all.
