It's very unsettling not to have a body: Robin's had faded into nothingness when he'd struck down the Fell Dragon, slaying himself along with the dark creature. As soon as his spirit was free of its mortal shell, he had been dragged along with Grima's evil essence into a dark and dreary wilderness. He could still see the world-a beautiful blue sphere with green continents that he knew so well-but it was growing smaller by the moment.

He was holding himself to the world by faint white strings, wrapped around his wrists and arms, keeping him from moving. Or at least, they should have; but in the other direction, black chains pulled him farther away from the world. Chains hooked to the Fell Dragon.

"You're coming with me," Grima hissed, his six eyes gleaming a brighter red than before. "Down into darkness. We are one and the same! You cannot escape my grip!"

Robin cried out in pain as the chilled metal tightened around him. His bonds of friendship and love-the white strings that held him in place-flickered, and he slid farther away from the world. He focused, trying to remember the world he wanted to return to. The people he knew, the foods he loved, the places he'd visited, his wife, his child...

"Go away!" he screamed. "Leave me, Grima! Your reign of terror is over! You have nothing left!"

"I will make you suffer," the Fell Dragon promised. "I will live forever in their memories! For you it is not so; your pathetic mortal 'friends' will mourn you, then forget you."

He's lying! Don't listen to him Robin!

The new voice echoed around the empty space. Robin knew that voice, but he could not remember...he imagined he saw a young woman standing on air next to him, dressed in the same cloak as he, and with the same silver hair, except hers was much longer and pulled into two distinct ponytails. She too was ensnared by the Fell Dragon's chains, holding to the world by so many fragile strings.

Robin blinked to dispel the illusion, but it became more realistic, almost solidifying. He could hear her rough breathing as she struggled to hold herself up, feel the strain on her mind and heart, see the desperate tear slide silently down her cheek. She was no mirage.

He stared at her, surprised by her sudden appearance and similar predicament. She too seemed taken aback by this new series of developments, but was distracted as Grima roared in a fury.

"NO! NO! THIS CANNOT BE! YOU WERE SEPERATED! YOU CANNOT EXIST TOGETHER!"

Robin stared at the girl, more confused than before. She stared back, her dark eyes wide and...familiar. He knew her, somehow. Robin gasped in pain as the Fell Dragon redoubled his efforts to tear them away. One hand slid free of the white strings holding him to the world and he nearly had a heart attack as he felt himself dragged farther down. The girl had the same happen and she looked over at him with wide eyes. Unsure of what else to do, Robin reached out and took her hand.

A sudden explosion of light rocked through the darkness, melting Grima's black chains. With an enraged howl, the Fell Dragon began to fall deeper into the darkness, screaming curses as he went.

"IT IS NOT POSSIBLE! THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! THERE-CAN-ONLY-BE-ONE!"

Both silver-haired humans watched as Grima vanished from sight, still holding one another tightly. When the Fell Dragon finally vanished from their sight, they looked at one another, trying to remember where they knew each other from, why they had a connection. Then the answer came, clear as daylight.

"Robin?" the girl whispered. "Brother, is that you?"

"Of course," he said, stunned. "But Raven...how is it possible? I-I killed you."

"No you didn't," she said slowly. "I killed you."

The twins stared at one another in confusion. This was impossible; each one had seen the other's death, and remembered it for the first time since the Fell Dragon had wiped their memories. So how were they both here?

"How can we see each other?" Raven wondered aloud. "The only thing I can think of is that...that we are both dead."

"But our memories are different," Robin protested. "I remember killing you, but you say that I was the one who died. It is simply not possible."

"I'm afraid that it is possible," a calm voice said, echoing in the darkness. "Grima has done a terrible thing to you both."

"Naga!" the twins cried in unison, releasing their entwined hands. The divine dragon stood before them, just as brilliant as she had always been.

"What do you mean it's possible?" Robin asked. "And what has Grima done to us that is so terrible."

"There could only be one vessel for the Fell dragon," Naga explained. "But there are two of you. Grima wanted to keep the stronger of you alive so he could take a more powerful form. What he didn't know is that you were too alike. In your fight, you were so evenly matched that there could be more than one outcome. In one scenario, Raven survived, in the other, Robin. The odds were stacked so evenly that the timeline couldn't stand the stress and split."

"So we did kill each other," Raven concluded, her mind racing. "But because of the tear, we existed independent of one another. Like how there can be two Lucina's."

"The tear also gave Grima two chances to destroy the world," Robin said. "Okay, now I have a different question: why can we see each other now? Why didn't we stay alone as Grima tried to take us down with him?"

"That can be attributed to your bond as siblings." The divine dragon smiled softly as she spoke. "In your hour of need, your spirits longed for one another. The call was strong enough to bring you together. Unfortunately, you cannot both be together and return to your separate lives now."

"This is goodbye?" Raven asked quietly. "Forever?"

"Nothing lasts forever, child," Naga comforted her. "Least of all goodbyes. You may not see one another in life again, but you will be reunited after death. It is only a farewell for now."

Robin turned to his sister, taking her hand again. She looked up, her eyes shining with tears.

"There's so much I want to tell you," she said, her voice shaking. "I hate goodbyes, you know."

"I do too," he replied. "But we're brother and sister. We'll meet again, and I'll always love you."

"I'll never forget it," Raven promised. Robin pulled her in for a hug, squeezing her tightly. She hugged him back.

"See you later," he whispered to her.

She pulled back, swiping tears away from her eyes. She gave a half-smile as she looked back to the world floating above them.

"Grima said there could only be one," she said, starting to evaporate into blue sparks. "But he was wrong; we'll always have each other."

Robin looked back at his world as his twin sister faded away, back to her own. He might not have Raven there, but he still had a life waiting there for him. And it was time to go home.

A/N: Yeah, this is the end of these two. They grew on me, but their story is over now. Hope y'all enjoyed!
