Tommen was knocked down and hit his head, his sword had fallen away from him, he was trying to stand but he could barley even see, the pain in his shoulder was so bad he wasn't sure he could get up.
"I believe if a man has to die he has to die, I take no pleasure in it, but some men, some usurpers have to burn." He said picking up a thrown torch still burning. "You, Ned Stark's son for supporting you over his rightful king, and his sister to for her part in all this, this is what they will feel, and your sister, brother every Lannister you've ever met." He pressed it against his side, and Tommen screamed, he grabbed onto a piece of stone and throw it as hard as he could at his uncle, Tommen wasn't sure how after all this time the next thing he remembers is being onto of his uncle hitting him with the rock until he was pulled off him by Ser Garlan the Galant of house Tyrell. "Loras go tell them we found the king." Garlan said helping Tommen stand it was a horrible burn, he needed it to be treated.
"Let, him kill him Garlan." Loras said Tommen was leaning on Garlan at this point focused on his pain and rage breathing heavily covered in his and Stannis's blood. Stannis made only noises his head covered in blood Garlan assumed he would be simple for the rest of his short life.
"The king needs treatment take him up now!" Loras's older brother demanded and Tommen drifted from vision.
He woke up in his bed as always with Sansa laying their asleep next to him peacefully sleeping, he found they were the perfect pair he fought and yelled in his sleep and she slept right through it, something he wouldn't want her to know. To worry about. He got up to go get a glass of wine. When he turned around they're was the red woman over Sansa with a torch, he ran to her, but she dropped it on her before he could take more than a few steps and Sansa screamed. "TOMMEN! TOMMEN!"
His eyes opened to Sansa shaking him and yelling his name. "The lady won't get you Sansa!" He promised sweating.
Something was wrong he was pale and sweating and kept babbling. "GUARDS HELP!" She cried, and Jamie Lannister burst into the room with his hand on his sword.
"I-I'm fine a nightmare! Be a good lion and catch a sheep." Tommen said.
"Something is wrong with him!" Sansa cried she was only in her slip, but she didn't care. "He's burning up!" she cried.
Jamie caught the red skin flared slightly on his side he pulled the blanket down to see it better. "His wound is infected."
Jamie carried his king through the halls to Pycelle and Qyburn came in.
"He needs milk of the poppy!" Pycelle demanded.
"So, his mind will melt? No, he needs it cleaned and dressed." Qyburn said making pycelle start to yell.
"Clean his wound." Sansa said quietly she held his hand, Jamie took his cloak off tying it around the queen.
"Your grace I must-" Pycelle started at the pace of a snail.
"THE QUEEN GAVE AN ORDER THE KING IS ILL IF THE QUEEN TOLD ME TO STRICK YOU DOWN RIGHT NOW I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ACOMMEDATE HER!" Jamie yelled.
They cleaned it made him drink water and then had him rest. She stayed by his side holding his hand.
"I love him, I did not realize I-"She stopped.
"You can tell him when he wakes your majesty." Jamie said softly as the servant girl entered "My queen I had them bring you a robe." He said She wouldn't move or turn from Tommen.
"Do you really want him to wake up and strain himself by killing everyman who can see you in that slip." He asked trying to make her smile, she didn't but she put on the robe and gave him his cloak back. "Thank you, Ser Jamie, I mean it, thank you for everything you've done tonight you may have saved the kings life." Sansa said.
"That is my duty, he's lucky he had you, he said everything was fine, I was going to leave but you knew something was wrong, you have good instincts." He said giving her a smile she couldn't return.
"No, truly I don't. I've just gotten use to constantly worrying about who's going to betray me or die next."
"My que-"
"As I said thank you for tonight, I will always be thankful for you helping the king, I will always make an effort to be kind to you, but I can never forgive, I know what you did to my brother a boy of ten, he's gone now, and I blame you! Never forget it because I won't, the north remembers."
"Did we come at a bad time?" Tyrion asked he and Rickon were coming into the room, Jamie let Tyrion know who told the rest of the family excluding Renly, Margaery and Shireen. Not wanting to give them any ideas. Edric and Robin came in after them and then Myrcella.
Rickon went to his sister and held her free hand, she just told off the terrible monster, no matter what she was a stark and his sister.
"Is he going to be alright?" Edric asked.
"Of course he is." Tyrion said.
"What happened?" Myrcella asked.
"Infection, of his burn wound." Sansa said not taking an eye off of Tommen, he slept so soundly now. It terrified her.
"He was burnt?" Myrcella asked.
"On the leg, he doesn't like to talk about it." Jamie said.
"If he makes it through the night he will live, but it's going to be a long night."
"Jamie, I want him guarded at all times the queen needs guarded too, just in case of the worst."
"In case of the worst, Princess Myrcella needs guarded she is the heir after all." Jamie said trying to avoid a stark ruler.
"Stop it!" Sansa said quietly only Rickon seemed to hear her or listen whichever the case maybe.
"No offense to the princess but men inherit first, Uncle Renly might be king after all." Edric said
"If that is the case we will need to get Sansa back to winterfell she won't be safe here, Myrcella will go too, Renly will be looking to kill Lannisters." Tyrion said.
"Or we get the real heir Joffrey back here tell Lord Stark it's the only way to save his brother and sister!" Jamie tried.
"Myrcella can come to the vale, so can cousin Sansa!" Robin offered.
"STOP IT! STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM LIKE HE'S DEAD!" Sansa yelled. "If you talk like that you need to leave." Sansa told them firmly.
"It is very late my queen, perhaps we should escort you back to your chambers." Edric said.
"No, I wont leave his side, you men should rest or prepare or run whatever it is you plan to do, go do it." She said.
"Come on little lord." Edric told Rickon.
"I would like to stay with my sister for a little longer please." He said Edric nodded and Rickon hugged him.
Edric, Robin and Myrcella left.
"Sansa you need to be reasonable. Don't let them scare you." Tyrion told her.
"What does she have to fear renly will be killing us not her, he would never kill Ned Starks daughter he would send her home as soon as she is found to be not pregnant." Jamie said making Sansa's head shoot up.
"What would happen if I was pregnant?" She asked the horror on her face said it all.
"Gods no, you are pregnant aren't you?"
"I'm not sure, but I was starting to wonder, I was going to ask the Maester in the morning." She admitted.
This was not something either Lannister wanted to discuss but it had to be discussed.
"Rickon, your sister looks cold, be a good boy and fetch her a Shaw." Jamie said and with a nod from Tyrion he went.
"He is not a servant." Tyrion told Jamie.
"Would you rather he was here?" Jamie asked.
"I have some questions your majesty but an exam would help-" Qyburn said
"I won't leave the kings side until tomorrow."
"Very well, when was the last time you had your red flower?" Qyburn asked.
She looked embarrassed over to Tyrion and Jamie who looked down in respect. "Not since before the kings returned." She said they glanced at each other, she was farther along then thought, he hadn't thought she looked different but seeing her now in a sleeping robe he could see the deeper curve of her breasts and maybe even a small roundness to her stomach that he mistaken for a young girl that had been feed properly her whole life.
Qyburn asked more questions but they knew that if the king died to night his truest heir laid in Sansa Starks belly.
Tyrion went to prepare, Rickon came back to stay faithfully by his sisters side even after Qyburn left. Jamie stayed to protect his king. Sansa fell asleep finally holding her king's hand laying half on his cot and half on the floor.
"You must be a very good little thief, or Edric is a very stupid boy, maybe both. You really took that dagger your hiding without him suspecting a thing?" Jamie said shocking Rickon.
"How." He asked.
"It's my job to protect the king, I notice things."
"I would never hurt Tommen!"
"I suspect you wouldn't harm your sister either, so is that knife for me?"
"Just stay over there away from Sansa." He said with the bravery of a much older boy.
"So you are protecting them from me? How cute, do me a favor don't join the kingsguard until after your 17, I'd like to stay the youngest to ever join." Jamie teased. "Are you really going to stay up all night with that little thing? Why?"
"She's my sister."
"Aww the ever-quaint stark loyalty."
"When winter comes, and the cold winds rise, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
"That's cute, I wish I had an annoying catch pharse." Jamie said sarcastically.
"A Lannister always repays his debts." The boy said back.
"You are too clever for your own good you know that boy?" Jamie said but in truth he enjoyed the boys company more then most people.
