Impossible
Hi there, I tried to update because I have nothing to do at 12 in the morning on late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. My apologies if the last chapter was had too many incorrect grammar or typos. I was in a rush that day to update. Further apologies if this chapter isn't as interesting or good as when I started out this story. Also, more apologies for lagging on you guys. I get so darn lazy, it's not even funny. I will try to update as fast as possible.
Warning: I don't plot out the story, I just write whatever pops into my head and I just try to work it out.
Without anymore random drabble from me, ONWARD!
Disclaimer: Goodness gracious, I wish I owned Naruto so then Hinata and Itachi would just get married.
Chapter: Jealous
Hinata was more than ecstatic that Neji was on her side. Her sister, Hanabi, would be most likely to support her as well. The rest of her family, except the branch members, will probably look down at her for having such feelings towards an Uchiha, of all people. But she didn't care. Her father would most likely disapprove but he let her become a medic ninja, right? That was against tradition in the Hyuuga family, but he let her anyways because he saw that she could excel at nothing else. She smiled ear to ear when she returned to the Uchihas and Naruto from her private conversation with her cousin. Upon reaching the three shinobi, she found that Sasuke and Itachi were arguing and Naruto was watching them with deep interest and amusement.
"No, she is my nurse! I don't care what you say! She's closer to my age anyways, you pedophile. What are you, thirty?" Sasuke mocked his older brother.
Itachi, who wasn't really arguing more like stating facts, retorted calmly. "Sasuke, I am only twenty-one years old. And, I, too, have her as a nurse."
Running out of things to use against him, the younger Uchiha crossed his arms, pride swelled in his chest. "So what?"
"Sasuke-kun, Naruto-san, Itachi… What is going on?" Hinata cocked her head to the side in wonderment.
"Nothing." The two Uchihas blandly replied in unison.
"Hey, Hinata-chan, why are you calling me 'Naruto-san'?" His cerulean eyes had a touch of hurt in them. Naruto's blonde brows were pressed together while Hinata just stared.
Truth be told, she hasn't completely forgiven the kitsune yet. Actually, she was still pretty upset with him. Hinata cared more about him than her own life and he just tossed her aside like she didn't even give him a second glance. She knew she was the one the praised him from the sidelines and she knew what it felt to be alone and forgotten. That's the part that pissed her off to the ends of the earth; he knew what it feels like to be looked over, yet he slipped into hypocrisy and did exactly that to the girl that adored him the most.
Taking a deep breath, causing her lavender sweater to shift one way then back when she exhaled, she gave Naruto a hard stare. She wasn't going to exclude the fact that she is livid with him, but she isn't about to recite a powerful speech in front of him either.
"Naruto-san, you have yet to earn the privilege to be called in an informal light. To be honest, I am still upset with you for failure to acknowledge or even thank me. Oh, and please call me 'Hinata-san'." The Hyuuga with the blue hair spoke with the kind of authority that only Hyuugas possessed. Her faceial gave off the illusion of a level-headed heiress while her eyes contained inner emotions of a stampede of infuriation.
Sasuke has never seen Hinata in this light. She was always so nice and easily forgiving. So when she saw her up front when she basically told the dobe that she is more than agitated for being ignorant, the way she told him to call her 'Hinata-san', and her spunk for putting the baka in his place, well… Sasuke had his jaw gaping at the silent but deadly Hyuuga before him.
Oh, Kami… She's so hot! Sasuke took a gander at Hinata.
Neji raised a brow at how quickly Hinata changed her perspective of Naruto. He knew not to mess with her like that because she does not take it lightly. He liked to call this side 'Evil Hinata' or Hanabi calls it 'Kick-ass Hinata'. The Hyuuga head called it 'Scary Heir Mode'. He shook his head, that was a strangely fun discussion. Over dinner, Hinata pinned Hiashi down with her own reinvention of the Hyuuga glare when he hadn't thanked her for making dinner for the past four years of their lives, and Hinata finally cracked when he stated that the chicken was too small as if it was her fault. Neji swore he has never seen the Hyuuga leader sweat so much under Hinata's penetrating scowl. Neji almost laughed out loud at the memory. His uncle usually avoided Hinata when she was in this mood. He couldn't swallow his extremely large pride enough to say out loud that his quiet daughter scared the living shit out of him with a look.
Naruto's blood froze. He has never seen Hinata so angry and scary looking before. "S-sure Hinata-ch— I mean Hinata-san." He awkwardly rubbed the back of his head while he tried to distract his eyes with the soft patch of grass in front of him.
Itachi stood up after a pregnant pause and turned his attention to Hinata.
"Shall we go find Tsunade-sama?"
"Hai, Itachi. Neji-niisan, please round up the Hyuugas. Take role and see that none of them are missing. Then go back to the compound and collect anything of use from there. I will follow you shortly to help." Her eyes met a twin set as she gave orders to her older cousin. He nodded in understanding and flash stepped into an unknown direction. Her opalescent eyes then met obsidian ones. "Sasuke-kun, will you please find Sakura-chan and Ino-chan and report back to Tsunade-sama?"
"Tch, fine." Sasuke shrugged and lazily walked off to find Konoha's loudest pair of kunoichi.
"Naruto-san, you may follow us if you like."
In the next second, Hinata and Itachi fled from the training grounds and began to look for the Hokage alongside his caretaker. The Kyuubi container followed silently behind the two heirs.
Man, Hinata-chan demoted me to 'Naruto-san'? Was I really that bad?
Naruto continued to mope behind the two ninjas while they searched for the village leader. Then a brilliant-ish idea popped into his mind. Maybe he can make it up to her. He processed different ways, different words, different places that would convince her let him call her 'Hinata-chan' again. Naruto let a confident grin stretch across his perfectly tan features.
"Hinata!" Completely forgetting about the honorific, Naruto lunged forward and aimed to snatch the Hyuuga's hand. Before their skin even made contact, all ninjas came to a halt as Itachi's hand slapped the poor Hokage-in-training hand's away. "Uh, Itachi…"
"Do not touch her." His voice held a tone of dry ice as he basically seethed at Naruto. His eyes were the deepest sea of black Naruto's cerulean eyes has ever bestowed upon.
"Look, Itachi, it's great you're being her body guard and all but just leave it all to me for the next five minutes, okay!" Naruto striked his famous good guy pose complete with a wink.
"I am not her body guard." The former Akatsuki member simply stated.
"Naruto-san, we do not have time for private conversations." Hinata began walking ahead of the two men when Naruto shot his arm around Itachi and clutched his paws on Hinata's dusty jacket.
"Hinata! Let me take you out! I'll make it up to you!"
Hinata contemplated this for a while. She felt somewhat amazed at how cool she kept, especially since her childhood crush basically asked her out. Somehow, she didn't blush, faint, or even get giddy over the fact that he's touching her.
"No, Naruto-san. I have no time for you." She said bluntly, causing the kitsune's face and grip to fall. Itachi smugly returned to his place next to the heiress and draped a protective arm over her shoulders, closing all existing space between them. The two casually walked while Naruto glared at the Uchiha's arm.
Why does teme's brother get to touch Hinata? Naruto's mind grumbled.
Because you're an asshole. Kyuubi chuckled at the jinchuuriki's misery.
Whatever, shut up.
Hinata felt her heart beat tenfold. He was touching her again. She could feel her face heat up against the sun and her breath seemed to hitch every now and then. Her face began to stretch a small smile until it became wider and wider. After a few minutes of walking on rubble upon rubble, Sasuke came out of the blue with Ino and Sakura flanking him. Both medic-nins looked like they had just seen a ghost and/or was about to bust out in tears.
"Hinata-chan… Bad news…" Ino started. Hinata's previous sunny disposition became grim. Something about Ino's tone made Hinata's form tremble in worry.
"Tsunade-sama… She's in a coma." Sakura's mint-green eyes were hidden underneath heavy lids. "She gave her remaining chakra to Katsuya in order to protect the village from Pein's jutsu."
Hinata felt her heart sink to her stomach and a lump began to form in her throat.
"Tch, why give up your own life for another." Sasuke scoffed.
Itachi scowled at his younger brother. "Foolish little brother. I did the same for you, remember that." Sasuke rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. In reality, he actually felt guilty for saying that.
Hinata walked away from Itachi and approached her two friends. "Ino-chan. Sakura-chan. Let's visit her together right now."
Author's Notes: Oh my gosh. I hate how short this chapter is. For some reason, the original chapter was deleted or lost within my computer so I had no choice but to pull this god awful chapter from my ass. Sigh, life is so fair, huh? Anyways, instead of going into full detail, I just decided to do a time skip in the next chapter. Review, I guess. Don't hate me.
