(Quick note- I got all the monster names from Zeldawiki so if a name is messed up, it's not my fault. Enjoy!)

"Huh?" Thief Girl blinked a few times as her eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness in the tunnel. It was just almost pitch black a second ago. What happened? She looked around and saw that the dark sides of the tunnel now had torches lit and stuck inside of the rocks, turning the cave an orangish hue. She hadn't seen torches there before. "How did...?" Thief Girl looked in front of her. The entire tunnel was lit.

"This is confusing, isn't it?" Avtai asked, looking at Thief Girl. He extended his hand to help her from her position sitting on the floor.

"Yes, very." Thief Girl stood up by herself, ignoring Avtai's hand. "Do you know what just happened? Why can't I hear that weird squeakin' anymore? How did the tunnel get lit? Why did'ya try to help me up?"

Avtai sighed. "Please stop asking me so many questions. I have no idea," but it was obvious he was lying. He turned around. His long blue hair flipped as he turned "Come on, let's go. Just because neither of us knows what happened doesn't mean we quit now." he said rather calmly. Thief Girl was slowly losing her mind while Avtai was content with the situation.

"Yeah..." she muttered. She wiped dirt off her shoulder and her legs. Thief Girl then took the lead again as the two of them searched for the Library which was supposed to be at the end of the passage. Her head was hurting from complete and utter confusion. What the heck is goin' on here...? She wondered.

It was about ten minutes of silence. Thief Girl was still completely baffled. Avtai, on the other hand, understood perfectly. Thief Girl had accidentally dropped her match that was the only light source in the tunnel. Epic fail. Since he really didn't have much of a choice, Avtai had used his magic, which he still tried to keep a secret, and lit the tunnel. The squeaking of bats, or possibly Keese, was gone which Avtai didn't quite understand but he left that subject alone. Maybe since he lit the cave, he scared whatever it was away. Yes, that was exactly what happened.

"Do you see that!?" Thief Girl gasped. Avtai looked ahead and noticed she was pointing at the end, the end of the hidden tunnel. There was a bluish hue at the entrance to the outside. Thief Girl grabbed Avtai arm and dragged him with her until they made it out.

"Oh my Nayru, what is this place!?" They were on a cliff overlooking a new land.

It was the most wondrous hidden world, or rather the only one, Avtai or Thief Girl had ever seen. It was a paradise with a bright blue sky, fluffy white clouds, hundreds of trees. The aroma of nature passed their noses in the form of a spring breeze. There was a waterfall in the center, spraying foamy water every direction. But, despite how amazing the place was, there was one slight flaw.

Monsters. Everywhere. They were like ants infesting a sugary cube.

"After Yuga-Ganon was defeated, the monsters must have hidden out here to avoid gettin' killed." Thief Girl muttered. They saw Hinox, Stalfos, Moblins, Keese, ("I told you I heard Keese," Thief Girl said matter-of-factly) Eyegores, Wizrobes, Ghinis, and plenty more.

"Holy Hylia, there are so many of them!" Avtai gasped. His only visible indigo eye was opened to its maximum size in both surprise and horror.

"Do you think they'll attack us?" Thief Girl asked.

"Of course, they're monsters. They practically live to murder Lorulians."

"But they don't have a leader. I don't think monsters attack people unless ordered to." Thief Girl protested. A weird looking eye creature with wings flew up to them. It was a Chasupa, an eyeball Keese pretty much. There was a time where the infested Lorule and everyone thought of them like mosquitos. "Aww, it's kinda cute, ain't it?" Thief Girl said.

"Eww, no. It's just hideous." Avtai said in disgust. Giant eyeballs staring into his soul weren't exactly his idea of a good time. Eww, creepy, he thought.

The Chasupa blinked its greyish green eye in confusion. Thief Girl bit her lip and got an idea. She then extended her hand and poked the eyeball bat with her index finger. "It feels so weird!" she said, making an awkwardly disturbed face after feeling the eyeball's slimy leathery wings. The Chasupa whimpered sadly. "Er, not tryin' to offend you... eyeball... thing..." It started crying. "Stop it- just stop- please stop cryin'! Oh my goddess, calm down little eyeball bat."

All of the monsters turned around and stared at the newcomers. Most of them glared, others looked afraid, and some other Keese and Chasupas cried as if afraid or copying the Chasupa Thief Girl poked. "Oh crap..."

"Great job Thief Girl, great job."

"Shut up, kiddo,"

"I am not a kid!"

"Being called a kid should be the least of your worries right now!" Thief Girl exclaimed. She looked back at the monsters, and oddly enough, they made no attempt to attack or advance toward the two strangers yet. "Huh?"

They were all looking at Avtai.

"Wh-what are they doing?" he exclaimed.

"They seem to want you for something."

"For what!? Monsters are annoying and obnoxious, what the hell would they want with me!?" Avtai yelled. All the keese and chasupas flew up to him. He took a few steps backwards. "Shoo! Shoo, go away, I don't want anything to do with you flying monsters!" Every other monster was slowly heading toward the cliff where the newcomers were standing.

Thief Girl stuck her foot out and tripped Avtai. "Stop it, they aren't trying to hurt you. It's obvious. For some reason, it seems as though they respect you. So, stop bein' such a big ol' baby. Coming here was your idea!"

"Ugh, yeah, I know." He grabbed onto Thief Girl's hand, dodging the flying monsters moving towards him, and pulled himself up. He then hopped down from the ledge where he was standing. As he left, the cave's light faded away until it was nothing but a dark hole again.

"Eek, erm, wait for me!" She jumped down as well and landed on a toppled over tree. She got stuck in an old hollow, infested with bugs. "Disgustin'." Thief Girl wildly kicked her legs, hoping to kill every single one of the insects. She missed them all. "What kind of Thief gets stuck in a tree and is attacked by such trifling foes!? I'm not a legend, I'm pathetic!"

Avtai smirked in an amused fashion. "I'm sure you'll find your way out of there. See you!" He turned away from her and walked into the forest ahead of him.

"Hey, get your arse back here! You're not really goin to abandon me, are ya!? Avtai! Come back!" She took a tiny dagger that she stole as a child (she had been a thief since she was barely a month old) and flung it towards where the annoying kid went. Zoom! It flew into the tree and perfectly aimed, stabbed into Avtai's long blue sleeve and pinned him into a branch.

"Eh!? Damn she's good. Yet she can't even get out of a rotten tree. Embarrassing!" He took the dagger out and stared at the hole in his sleeve. "Hmph." He touched the hole and it mended. Avtai then stood there, trying to stay out of the sights of the moblins he could smell nearby, and waited for the thief of legend who was in a ridiculous situation to reach him. "She's sloooow."

"Am I!?" Thief Girl tackled him from behind and twisted his arm around his back as tightly as she could. She then dug her knees into his back.

"Stop it! I submit! I submit! You're such a cruel jackass!" He exclaimed, clenching his teeth.

"You're not helpin' yourself, kiddo." She laughed and stood off her, her long purplish hair falling down her face. Thief Girl picked up the dagger and helped up Avtai. "So, care to see if the legends are true about the library?"

"Well, yeah, I'm not here for the stench of moblins." He replied, wrinkling his pale nose.

"Don't worry, I'm sure that these trees are just fertilized by their feces."

"Gee, isn't that nice to know..." he muttered sarcastically. Avtai then noticed an eyegore peeking at them through two fir trees. It's enormous eye just blinked at them.

"I could use a bow right now... and arrows..." Avtai just strolled away from it, with Thief Girl following behind him like a lost puppy. Although most of the time they never noticed, but the monsters watched them every step of the way.

They sat there completely bored on a pile of leaves. Thief Girl and Avtai was seriously lost. After wandering aimlessly searching for the library, they ended up nowhere in the middle of the afternoon. The monsters were still peering at them from hidden spots.

"So... we're screwed."

"Apparently."

Thief Girl fell backwards onto the hard Earth below. Leaves found their way into her hair and got stuck to her back. She sighed. "I'm so bored. This fame better last a while. Me, the only thief to find the library which ain't nobody even knew for sure existed. I sure hope it's here. If it's not, I'll be so frustrated."

"Hm... me too."

She looked at Avtai. "So... why did ya even want to come? Ya never told me that." Thief Girl ignored the thought at first, she was getting paid, who cared what his reasoning was? Now, for some reason, her cursed curiosity got the best of her. She had to know, and Thief Girl wanted to make him tell her.

Avtai ignored her. "Get up, we still have plenty of time. Hurry up, let's go."

"Hey! Why didn't-?"

"Come on!" Avtai pretty much dragged her with him out of their resting spot. He held onto her arm, somewhat tightly, as if he was starting to get annoyed. Oh Din, what's his problem!? All the playfulness had left him; he was no longer the troublesome person he was at the beginning of the day. Maybe he was tired. Tired of her, perhaps?

It's their fault. Avtai thought. Hilda... Thief Girl... especially Ravio. And the way the monsters look at me... could it mean that... my Hylian self... did what I never could accomplish? Maybe he... is who I might've been. I have to know! I will know! He ran faster out from the trees, tightening his grip on Thief Girl. His eyes brightened with determination.

"Stop!" Thief Gril shrieked, pushing him over onto his face.

"Wh-what was that for!?"

"Shut up at look!" She pointed in the distance.

"Look at what? Ugh, this better be worth it." He stared onto the horizon where he saw that waterfall, the one from earlier, spraying its cool water all around. The sunset was reflecting off of the water's surface, making the bluish coloration turn into a painting of pure perfection. That's when he noticed the shape underneath it. A house... maybe? Was it a cabin for the monsters? Or was it... could it be? They finally found it?!

"Here." Avtai gave her yet another gold rupee. "Thanks, I mean it, sincerely. Bye." She took the rupee as he fled away from her.

"Erm... you're... welcome..." She held the rupee up to her lips and kissed it before putting it away in her rupee wallet. "Hurry back to Lorule, Avtai," and with that, she abandoned the hidden area and headed home. She had no more reason to stay.

Avtai rushed into the deep dark area right in front of the waterfall. Fog was clouding his eyes, but he could still see it. The one place that had what he needed. Yuga was said to have put every bit of knowledge into there, locking it away from the people. Since Ravio and Hilda wouldn't help him, then the past villain of Lorule would be of service.

He collapsed before it. Mud was splattered on the ground below. It was an enormous stone fortress with cracks across the walls. It had weeds and dirt covering most of it. The library was indeed legendary. Just imagine how much it could assist a person with anything their heart desires. There was one problem-

No entrance. No doors, no windows, nothing. There were those cracks, though. Ugh, wouldn't it be so easy if I had Yuga's stuck painting powers. He could always teleport… And what if the idiot left a magic-proof curse on it? Never mind that idea.

So.., that left one option, didn't it?

That tiny hole at the base of the library was the only way in. And what did that mean? It's worth it, oh Farore, don't let me drown! He stood up and placed his back up against the freezing damp stone walls. He put his hand up to the dark blue hat that sat upon his head. He closed his eyes.

"Turn me back."

Note- Haven't posted a chapter in a while. Sorry about that. I've just had so much to do and I kinda (forgot about my story). Well, the ending is not meant to be perfectly explained. Let's just say this...

If you know who Avtai's counterpart is and that character's backstory, it will all make sense.

Oh, Ravio shall appear in the next chapter. No worries there.

Enjoying my story so far?
