Ch. 10 True feelings and Green Cinderellas'!
"I really don't understand what your problem is Gaara!" Terra yelled over the blow-dryer, as she hung her head to the side, brushing out her autumn locks. "I mean we have more than enough room to spare for all of my family to sleep here."
"It's simple Terra…" He sighs fixing his color of his suite. "I don't wait them too."
"But it'll be fun!" She whined. "Like a sleep over! There'll be popcorn, sodas and scary movies! I'm sure joking and drinking games later in the night, knowing my Aunt she'll bust out the booze and then the real party will being!"
Terra looked at him in the mirror, shutting of the blow-dryer, begging him with her eyes.
"No."
"Please!" She whined louder, knowing she was being annoying and whiny but she felt if she whined enough like a child, Gaara would give in like an irritated parent.
Huffing, Gaara turned the girl around by her shoulders before lifting her up on the counter, by her large hips then grabbing the back of her knees and yanking her to him, keeping her legs locked around his hips.
"Is it so hard to believe that I want time alone with you?" He asked softly, his voice was already so deep and raspy, that the added low tone sent shivers down her spine, with as soft gasps of breath as he kissed her neck softly.
"Time, that is uninterrupted, by your loud and annoying family?" He asked brushing his lips across her collar bone while sliding his hands up her thighs and around to her ass, pushing her closer to his hips before laying an open kiss to her neck.
"That's mean, Gaara…" She whispers her breathing hitching as he continue to kiss her neck, slowly making his way up her neck when there was a loud bang at the bathroom door.
Growling rudely Gaara moved away from Terra before stomping to the door. "We're moving rooms." He muttered loud enough to only be heard by her as he went to let in her Aunt and Katy.
"Terra, why are you not ready?" Jamie exclaims loudly. "The dinner is in 30 minutes!"
"What? I am ready I just got to put on my dress and shoes!"
Jamie and Katy balked at the girl. "Uh…you're wearing that?" Katy asked slowly.
Frowning Terra looked down at her simple blue dress with black tights and necklace, her hair was down and straight. "…Yeah…what's wrong with it?"
"Terra, you are meeting your husband's family!" Jamie spoke slowly as if speaking to a child.
"Which, I may remind you that said husband is the senator's son!" Katy stressed. "You must look nice not just ok, or simple but nice!"
"Gaara never said anything, I even asked him!" She gasps throwing her hands up in the air.
"That's because Gaara doesn't care to impress his father!" Katy sighs pushing her friend onto the toilet seat. "In Gaara's eyes he'll do what he wants, meaning marrying who he wants he doesn't need daddy's permission."
"But," Jamie continued. "If you want to have a happy life, free from monster-in-laws, you have to impress, and since he's the senator you have to impress your ass off!"
"Good thing we decide to join you on this trip." Katy mutters under her breath as she began to gather up Terra's autumn colored locks, twisting and pulling it into a bun while letting some of the hair fall out of the bun. "Hey Jamie did you plug up the curling iron?"
"Sure did, did you bring my makeup bag?"
"Yes you know it, hey we gotta snag that dress Ashley has, you know then green one?"
"Oh my gosh yes! That will make Terra's eyes pop!" Jamie squealed rushing out the bathroom to harass Ashley.
"Hey, hey I thought we had 30 minutes!" Terra whines trying to stand up, but was pushed down by Katy.
"It won't take us long...if you sit still!"
"Ok I'm back!" Jamie rushed in. "I found the dress, shoes and this awesome vine like hair piece perfect for her bun!"
"I can't fit Ashley's shit!" Terra growled as Katy went about curling the lose strains of hair hanging from the bun.
"It's only for one night Terra, plus you'll be sitting." Jamie waved off her nieces whine as she began dusting the girl's face lightly with green and silver. "Gaara?" she called.
Gaara didn't say anything as he stopped at the bathroom door, his eyes shining with amusement as Terra face scrunched up in disgusted while her Aunt applied makeup.
"Change your tie to the green one on the counter here, then go down and stall you family, we'll be down it two shakes!" Jamie murmurs before popping Terra on the arm. "Relax your face!"
Normally Gaara didn't like being told what to do, but he knew better than to go against the force that was Terra's aunt, plus going down early he could gauge his father's mood before Terra came down. Switching out the tie, he grunted a good bye to his 'wife' before heading to the elevator.
"Wait hold the door!" Ashley cried before rushing in dramatically. "Ahh thank you!" she smiled.
Rolling his eyes Gaara looked towards the doors shoving his hands in his pockets as they made their slow descend.
"Look, I know you speak English, how else would you have spoken to Terra, when you both first met?" Ashley smirks. "Terra couldn't fully understand Japanese until a month before they left, any time before that Japanese would have went way over her head."
"My English, no good." He glared, he was slowly catching on what this chick wanted, she was dressed conservatively yet suggestively, the crème dress was semi-long stopping six inches above the knee yet it was tight showing off her thin yet curvy body and large breasts, her chestnut hair was simple, wavy and swooped to the side, her makeup light.
She was truly gorgeous, she was nothing but a snake in the grass.
"Aw, come on, it has to be at least understandable to get Terra to marry you." She giggled as she swooped her hair down the same shoulder, drawing attention to her neck and breasts. "I just want to get to know my best friend's husband is all."
He made no reply.
Clicking her tongue, Gaara glared as she walked up to him, pressing her body close to his as she reached to fix his tie and smooth out his collar. "We both know, Terra isn't someone you normally go after…so when you're done playing prince charming, I'm here." She spoken in prefect Japanese, patting his chest before walking out the elevator as it opened up.
Glaring he watched as she sashayed her way out, huffing he grabbed his tie and loosen it not liking it pulled so close to his neck. Walking passed Ashley as she waited for him to show her the way to the Dining Hall, Gaara took a deep breath as he swung open the door and stepped into the Hall and once he spotted his father's glare he released his breath slowly.
Let's the games began.
Rasa watched his son make his way into the Hall followed by a busty brunette with a smirk, he couldn't help as his eyes narrowed on the girl, she body screamed for attention even if she was dress conservatively, the way she walked and the air around her shouted 'I'm a spoil brat'.
This is the girl his son married? She was nothing like what Temari said, his daughter would never lie to him. Rasa continue to eye his last son as he moved about the room, heading straight for his sibling with a glare that matched his own, yet Rasa could see Karura all over his last son's face. Gaara might have gain more of his dominated features, hair, eye shape, stature but it was Karura's lips, chin, cheeks and lastly her eyes. Temari had Karura's eyes as well but it was as if his late wife herself was peering at him through their son, it made Rasa look away; there was only so much he could take. The pain, guilt and hatred was too much.
Swirling his drink in his cup Rasa sighs as he leans back in his chair, quietly listening to his children conversation.
"You told him about her didn't you, Temari!" Gaara growled, yet his body was relaxed and loosed.
"He asked, and I quote "why has Matsuri's family called, about some 'bimdo,' who is married to Gaara!'" again they're his words not mine," Temari hissed bouncing Junko on her hip, the now 7 month old smiling when she spots her redheaded Uncle. "What was I supposed to tell him?"
"Nothing!"
"Tsh, please like daddy would let that slide!" She mutters rolling her eyes. "Look, I told him all good things about Terra, if anything he'll like her respectful attitude."
"Yeah, and he's not going to like her when she snaps at him for hounding her…I'll be fucking livid if he makes her…" Gaara came to an abrupt halt before looking away ending the conversation.
Rasa's eye roamed back over to where his children were standing, with a frown.
"Before what Gaara?" Kankuro asked smirking. "It's ok, we all know you're whipped!" He laughed taking a sip of his drink.
"Am not!"
Sitting up in his seat the Prime Minister's frown deepen, usually, after Kankuro's little jokes Gaara would have snapped with a threat, or something along the lines of threatening Kankuro by 'shoving my glass down your throat if you didn't shut the fuck up' something Rasa hear many times, and yet his youngest quickly denied the accusation and…was he blushing?!
Looking to the brunette girl that has yet to say a word, Rasa looked closer at her, no this couldn't be the girl, Gaara had yet to even look in her direction since they came in. The girl was his usual type, yet not once had he acknowledged her. Standing up he was about to march his way over there and demand to know who this girl was, when a small and feeble hand was placed over his.
The old lady with pale red hair pulled into a neat bun, her eyes soft and sharp yet black and deep as an abyss. Ruika merely patted his hand, her voice soft and low with an underlying tone of authority that shouldn't be questioned.
"Sit, Rasa, life has a way of answering its own questions," she smiles softly before looking at him sternly. "Now sit…and watch."
Rasa sank slowly into his seat, he knew better then to defy his mother, plus…she has a new cane, and she wasn't shy about whacking people.
Gaara clenched his jaw in agitation as he fought the blush, was he really that transparent? Or was his brother just being a jackass? What's worse, is that Kankuro is right, he really is whipped and Terra didn't even know it. No matter how much he wanted to believe he had her wrapped around his finger, it was he was that knotted and tangled around her; anything she would ask or wanted, needed he would shower her with them.
Running his tongue over his lip rings he huffed. He wasn't sure if he liked this feeling or not…a small fleeting image of her smile, bright eyes and snorting laughter settled that bizarre feeling…yeah he was whipped.
Didn't mean he had to like it!
Or admit to it!
Looking up at his siblings knowing, smirking eyes as they sipped they're drink, he glared, it was too late, they knew.
"Whatever..."
"Ehh, Gaara!" Temari squeals in excitement hugging her daughter close to her. "This is exciting...aww I thought I'll never see this day!"
"Our little brother finally growing up." Kankuro faked a sniffle and wiping away a nonexistent tear, before they both burst into quiet snickers.
Sending them rays of hatred through his glare he looked away, wishing Terra would hurry her nice around ass up and occupy his time.
"With teasing aside Gaara, I'm happy for you. It's about damn time." Kankuro grinned grabbing his brother's shoulder firmly squeezing before letting his arm drop. "Because, she quite the catch." He grins softly nodding his head in the direction behind Gaara.
Frowning, he was sure his face will be stuck like this if he didn't stop soon, Gaara turned around, and everything stopped.
His breathing,
His Heart,
Even time itself, stopped.
She stood there with a frown of her own as she scratched at her head, digging into the nice bun and soft curls of her hair, she was wobbly in her sliver heels standing with hunched shoulders uncomfortable in what she was wearing as she tugged and pulled at her dress only for her hands to be slapped by her Aunt, and her shoulders grabbed and straighten by her blonde friend, they buzzed over her hair fixing it and smoothing her dress which seem to annoy her causing her frown to deepen.
He never seen her so done up before, Halloween didn't count she was in a costume, this person before him was Terra, her forest green dress was short in the front but long and flared out in the back, enhancing her already long legs, the sliver studded sweetheart neckline seem to push up her small breast and offset the sliver of her eye-shadow making her eyes pop, as her autumn color curls was swooped over her right shoulder.
She began chewing the inside of her cheek, with narrowed eyes on her aunt and best friend, when she finally, finally looked up, catching his eyes.
Her face lit up like a car's back-tail lights, her eyes flickered away shyly before meeting his with a set determination. Straightening her shoulders herself with a calm breath she made her way towards him, walking with confidence and grace, which surprised him, he didn't think she could walk in heels.
Hearing a huff behind him, Gaara made note of the noise in the Hall, how loud it all seemed all of the sudden; he was sure it was quiet earlier, his eyes flickered around briefly seeing that none had seem to notice his green little Cinderella. Good, because she was his, all his.
As she grew closer she reached out a hand for him quickening her steps as she moved and parried around people. Finally close enough to grab her hand, he quickly snatched her up pulling her to him, and just like that the noise in the Hall became quiet.
All he could see, all he could hear, was her, and only her.
"I feel silly…and overly dressed." She pouted pushing herself closer to him as someone squeezed by them. "I don't know why I had to change, this won't make your father see me any different…"
She huffed playing with the end of his green tie, before looking up at him again. Gaara's stomach lurched and his heart dropped at her eyes.
"You look fine…" His voice gruffer than usual, as he licked his lip rings, yet not looking away from his little green Cinderella.
Terra smirked with a ticked from her eyebrow, did they pluck her eyebrows? "Ah…so in Gaara translations, you're saying I'm quite the sight hmm?" She broke into a smile.
Leaning down closer to her Terra, for a split second she thought he was going to kiss her but he turned his head just slightly, his lips near the corner of hers, he whispered. "You look like an Art Museum."
Unable to fight the grin, she tossed her head back and laughed loudly, her hands on his chest she looked at him emerald eyes aglow. "My, what a charmer."
