"Leave me alone," Selene warned Khan, her back to him as she focused on her task. In response she earned another swift tap to her bottom. "Khan!"
A rich chuckle rumbled in her ear as his arms came round her waist. "I can't help it."
"Yes, you can, I'm trying to cook." She stirred the cookie dough mixture. "Stop bothering me."
"Do you really want me to stop?" A kiss was strategically placed behind her ear. "I will." Another kiss. No longer was it about her trying to get her cookies in the oven and wanting some peace. Now it was threat to take away whatever pleasure he was willing to give. She chose to ignore the question. She would get the cookies in the oven and then give in to whatever mischief he was trying to stir up. Then his arms disappeared and she bit down an upset whine. Pulling the baking sheet toward her she began to spoon the chocolate chip cookie dough on.
"Give me a taste." Selene just about died at the dark murmur that suddenly resounded in her ear. When had he come back? Had he even left? She wasn't sure what exactly he was asking for but she knew what she wanted. She leaned into him, tilting her neck to give him a better field of exploration and sighed once his lips made contact.
Moments like these made her forget that he was a centuries old villain. In moments like these he was just a man.
Khan for his part was focused solely on the supple skin of her neck. He had an impeccable memory but he couldn't remember anyway who felt like her or anyone who tasted like her. Not even a fellow augment that he had taken as a lover long ago. No one compared and he was now a firm believer that there was no woman better than Selene.
She had a way about her that was at once hypnotizing and magnetic. He could barely recall the times when he hated her very presence. Some part of him had found her weak and fragile – disgusting. But now he all could do was marvel at how she could be so delicate yet so strong. She was a living contradiction in every way, particularly to his own viewpoints.
"Khan," She was pushing against him now, no longer letting him support her body but instead shoving him away. "Two seconds. All I need is two seconds to finish this up."
With a grunt, he started to untangle himself willing to oblige her if she would be back in his arms quickly. Before he could finish his task – something he went about doing entirely too slow of Selene's taste – she had bent over brushing against him to place the cookies in the oven. Khan blinked at the action, more than a little shocked at her boldness. So far during his entire experience with her, she had never deliberately tempted him. No, though she was exceptionally good at it, not once had Selene done anything to hint at intentional seduction. But the well-rounded rear rubbing against his groin was telling him that was changing.
"Ow!" Selene shot up when another harsher slap was delivered to her. She turned to give Khan a scornful look. That had actually hurt a bit. And he looked entirely too pleased with himself.
"I have no idea what you expected me to do but I know what should've been done," He replied to her with a self satisfied smirk. "You earned it."
"No cookies for you." She thought it a fitting punishment for his aggressiveness, though she didn't really mind. There was a playfulness about it that Khan rarely ever showed her. She was so used to his intensity that when he was flirtatious she took whatever it was and ran with it. Selene turned to walk away trailing a hand over her dining table.
"I could care less about those d– " She sent him another narrowed glance. He wasn't one to overly curse but his vocabulary was definitely more colorful than she approved of. So he skipped his over preferred word. "Cookies. What I really care about is to see how flexible you are. You've peaked my interest with that little stunt you just pulled."
"Curiosity killed the cat," She sang lightly as she moved a bit faster out of the room and rounded the corner. A chuckle escaped him as he stalked her toward her bedroom.
"Darling, no one told you? Satisfaction brought it back."
Kirk wasn't sure what course of action to take now. Since their meeting he had decided to let Prisoner 1-I-9-F just sit in his cell and think. Delilah had taken it upon herself to do the same. She settled into the room given to her and Kirk rarely saw her for more than five minutes a day. She had nothing to say to him. It seemed as if seeing the Prisoner had left her in a permanent state of thought and the constant frown on her face gave Kirk a hint of what she was thinking about. He'd asked Uhura to keep an eye on her while he avoided the Admiral. Bones monitored her and the child on a daily basis and Kirk and Spock attempted to figure out the best way to go about approaching the Prisoner.
Kirk doubted he would be in a very giving mood once they were in a room together.
But it had been 3 days and it had to be done. He wanted to know what to do and how he had felt but Delilah refused to say more than "please let me see him" and he couldn't do that just yet. So he was forced to use own knowledge of human nature and what good would that do him? Prisoner 1-I-9-F was not a normal human. He was dreading the moment, mostly because of his own guilt, and Spock had finally forced him into an interrogation room and sent out orders for the Prisoner to be brought to them. And Kirk was feeling decidedly nervous about the whole situation. The Prisoner had been blackmailed with his crew before and here he was using an innocent child and the woman he can only assumed held some value to him. And it was wrong.
So caught up in his feelings that he did not notice the fearful ensign announce that the Prisoner would be arriving in a matter of minutes.
"She is having an effect on your behavior," A slight frown graced Spock's features as he stared at Kirk.
"What?"
"Delilah S. Warren. She does that and now you are doing the same."
"What?" When had Spock even been in her presence long enough to notice anything besides her pregnancy?
"You are not paying attention to your surroundings."
"…You mean daydreaming?"
"If you wish to call it that," Spock knew exactly why Kirk was doing so but in his opinion he needed to gain control over his faculties before he made a mistake in dealing with Khan. He needed to learn to ignore his feelings and consider the greater good. That's what he was doing. While Uhura attended to her actual duties on the base and Kirk was off doing whatever it was he did, he had often spoken to Delilah. He was curious as to why she had illogically gotten herself involved with Khan and when she had no answers for him he still found himself going back. He was now coming to an understanding of why Uhura spoke of her so much. And of why Khan may have let down his prejudice to simply be in her presence.
"I'm not daydreaming," Kirk denied the accusation sullenly though he knew it to be true. He just couldn't reconcile his actions his actions with his feelings.
Before Spock could say more the door slid open to reveal the intimidating form of Khan. He moved silently across the room and sat in the chair opposite of Kirk and Spock without being told. He was quiet the whole time but Kirk thought he could feel the hostility radiating off of him. And he could not blame the man.
"Well, Captain," Venom dripped from Khan's tongue as he glared at the men before him. Selene had been pure and untouchable and he had been confident that no harm would come to her once he left. But they had gone and dug her up. Now she was locked up in this God forsaken institute when she should be relaxing before the birth of their child.
After seeing her, Khan had gone through several emotions. The first was shock that he had seen her and that he now had a child. Shock that he wasn't upset that the mother was not an augment; he was shocked that he had felt a surge of elation upon seeing her pregnant with his baby. Then a swell of pride had welled up in him to see her glowing and knowing that she would bear his child. Happiness had swept through because it was her! It would not have been the same if it had been any woman but her, his Selene. He could not even imagine another woman besides her to have his child. No one was worthy enough. No one would care enough or love the baby enough. No child of his deserved a mother that was not Selene. And now she was here…
And that was when the rage hit him.
How dare they bring her to him? He didn't have to think hard about her purpose there and he could not hold in his anger. He had trashed his small cell, sending the bed into the wall tearing the sole chair from the floor and smashing it to pieces. There was nothing left for him to destroy besides someone and he was locked in a cell. But his emotions alone were enough to send Lieutenant Harvey into a medical emergency. And all he had to do was think once more of his sweet Selene locked up and the young man had been a goner. He could not handle the stress, violence, or pain that was being emitted from Khan. He had not been seen since.
But he was not the target of Khan's wrath. No, a certain captain who had done it all was. After his temper tantrum he was not satisfied. He paced his cell liked a caged tiger and planned. He would do as they asked while maintaining specific terms to ensure Selene's security. And then he would have his revenge. As soon as Selene was stable hell would be paid. They would learn never to abuse her in any way, shape, or form. But for now, he will thinly veil his contempt for Kirk and all involved until he was in the position to strike.
Kirk finally broke the thick silence by clearing his throat. "To begin –"
"How is she?" It was a question phrased like a command. He did not want to beg for knowledge from this fool but he had not heard a word about Selene in days.
"Her vitals are stable. The child is growing at a healthy rate though a few centimeters in length are desired and according to our doctor, the birth shall not be difficult," Spock quickly answered for the wilting Kirk. If he did not get a hold of his guilt he would throttle him. Any weakness shown in front of Khan was a death wish. "Now, let us not waste time. We have already stated numerous times that your assistance is necessary during this war and to put it simply, Miss Delilah S. Warren seems to be the only thing that holds your interest," She's not a thing flashed across Khan's mind as he set his jaw. He would not show how much interest he had in her because it would only put her in further danger. He'd decided to put up a façade that he was only interested in the child so that she would not have to suffer more. Only when he was alone with her would he give into his affections.
"I understand. I've heard your conditions several times before now hear mine. Delilah," He had to remember to call her by that name. "Delilah is pregnant with my child and the stress of living here will affect the baby. I want her moved to one of the small homes located on this base."
"That can be arranged," Kirk spoke up, happy to finally do something positive.
"And I will live with her."
