Chapter 10 - Too much extremeness can be bad for you
You didn't have much time to think of a way to save yourself as you had really been in many life or death situations until you had met Tsuna which has been a more recent thing.
Usually when people get closer and closer to their death they say that their 'lives flashed before their eyes'.
But it didn't happened to you so, you were sure you won't die and you made sure that you didn't die.
A massive load of thoughts and ideas flooded into your head from the split second you lost your grip on the pole.
You did the first solution that popped into your head as there really wasn't enough time to run a proper simulation through.
You threw your legs back and bent them with your eyes clenched shut and anticipated the worst..
"EXTREMELY EXTREME!"
The 'extreme' person shouted once again, giving you another scare causing you to frail your hand around in the air as they were dangling by your head.
When you opened up your eyes, you noticed that you weren't on the ground or suffering from any concussions or anything along those lines. But, you felt a slight stinging pain at the back of your knee which meant that your plan had worked.
You twisted your head around to try to find the culprit who had put you in a near death experience but your actions were limited and you were just wasting your energy. The more you moved, the dirtier your hair became cause though your hands couldn't touch the ground even with your arms fully stretched, your hair could as it was longer than the length of your head, neck and torso combined.
The person could see that you were struggling so he stepped in front of you, he knelt down to carefully holding up your hair with a loose grip to stop anymore sand from dirtying it.
You squinted your eyes are you looked at the person in front of you, it was quite difficult seeing as you were upside down. It took you a while to figure out where you had seen the person in front of you before. When you realised, your eyes almost doubled in size as you pointed your finger towards him. "You're the guy I nearly ran over with my bike!"
The guy in front of you merely grinned and nodded his head. "I'm Sasagawa Ryohei! And what's your extreme name?"
His weird enthusiasm just made you blink with your jaw slacked. "I'm- I'm Tsukiko Mizuki..." You introduced yourself as you knew it was rude to not when the other person has already introduced themselves. "Wait- Sasagawa... You're not by any chance related to Kyoko are you..."
"Yes! She's my extreme little sister!"
You nodded your head and folded your arms under your bust. "Ah yes I thought as much~ There's no way such an passionate guy like you be related to the sweet and sensible Kyo- YOU'RE HER OLDER BROTHER?!" You eyes nearly popped out of your head as it finally managed to process Ryohei said.
"That's right! I'm her extreme older brother!"
"Oh... I'm- Sorry for my sudden outburst- It's just- It's been a long day for me..." A deep sigh escape from your lips. "I need another nap." You groaned as you tensed your core and began to pull yourself up, your hair slipped out of Ryohei's hands as you sat up on the pole. Swinging your legs, you watched him run around to face you once again with a enthusiastic expression.
"You have extreme skills!" He jabs at the air in front of him, shifting his weight from foot to foot as if he was sparring with an invisible person. "Your movements and your strength is amazing! You'd be the perfect member to join our boxing club!"
His praises caused you to suddenly feel a bit embarrassed. "Awh thank you~ But... Sorry, I'm not really interested in boxing." You apologised whilst giving him a small smile.
Ryohei frowned when you rejected his offer, watching you as you jumped down with elegance. You combed your fingers through your hair to untangle any knot and tried to dust away any stone and sand that got stuck.
A wave of guilt struck your heart as you noticed the disheartened look on his face, in an attempt to cheer up the guy, you suggested "Maybe I could try a free trial to see if you can change my mind?"
Within a second, Ryohei's expression changed from gloomy to what you would say, extremely happy. "No problem kiddo! I'll teach you some extreme moves now!" He screamed out excitedly.
"What? Right now?"
"Yes! Right here, right now!" He stood in front of you with his feet slightly wider that shoulder widths apart and raised his fists up to his face, he positioned himself perfectly from the years of practice. "This is the starting stance for boxing, you will always start like this!"
You were flustered as you had not expected Ryohei to start teaching you so quickly. You didn't really want to stop him as you had noticed at how serious Ryohei had suddenly become.
Intrigued, you mirrored his actions, you positioned your hands and feet as similar to his as possible. "Like this sensei?" You gave Ryohei a grin whilst saying his new title in a singsong way.
When he heard you calling him 'sensei', it seemed to have made him even more motivated to teach you.
His eyes scanned over your form and to say that he was impressed was almost an understatement.
Ryohei thought back to what he had just saw. He had just happened to spot you as he was running his usual route around the school for his training. He was curious as to what you were doing as he vaguely remembered seeing you riding your bike. He walked closer towards you to watch you jump up and grab the bar. His eyes were solely focused on your movements, swinging your legs only twice before you managed to move yourself around, all the way to the top. Ryohei found himself unable to look away, hypnotised by your swift and steady motions. Before he knew it, he had shouted out his iconic catchphrase which had unfortunately broke your concentration leading you to your fall.
When Ryohei had realised what he had done, he leaped towards you without a second thought with his arms outstretched ready to catch you but froze just as he was about to kiss the floor to cushion your fall. He became even more fascinated as he saw how you hooked your leg around the pole to save yourself from injuring yourself. Ryohei couldn't help but realise how luck seems to be on his side when he managed to find two people who he had considered to be extreme which was quite rare in his case as he had never met anybody who he had thought could match his extremeness.
Turns out he was wrong.
Just from how precise you had copied his actions, he could tell how you had the potential to be an extremely amazing boxer if you wanted to. Ryohei never let opportunities, as good as this one, get away.
He moved from his spot to circle around you before settling to stand by your side. "This is perfect! Extremely perfect!" He smiled brightly as he stood in the exact same way as you. "Now this is a technique that I've created," He bragged proudly as he turned his head to look at you. "now watch carefully!" Ryohei took in a deep breath as he pulled in his right arm until his hand was leveled with his shoulder. Building up power, he straightened out his arm, punching the air in from of him with an impressive strength. "EXTREME STRAIGHT!"
You stared at him with an intense expression. "Isn't that just a regular punch-" You furrowed your eyebrows as you watched the move that he had just performed which didn't really seem like anything special.
Ryohei appeared to be deeply offended by your word as he shook his head frantically. "A regular punch?! NO THIS IS MY EXTREME STRAIGHT THAT I CREATED!"
You could feel your ears beginning to ring from the 'extreme' loudness of the guys voice. "O-Okay okay! I'm still only a beginner so please excuse my mistake, sensei!"
Ryohei's mood lightened up once again as he seemed to have accepted your excuse. "Well it's your lucky day since I'm willing to teach you my extreme move!" He turned to face you, grabbing your shoulders roughly and gives your whole body a slight shake. "You're my first student so I have high hopes for you!"
You felt slightly bewildered at the amount of expectations he had for you. Like the majority of the people, you hated letting anyone down so you gave him a wide smile with a nod of your head. "I really hope I don't disappoint then!"
With a proud grin, Ryohei proceeded to teach you the technique of his.
Well, at least trying to teach you.
"You just do this, and this, and this, then you go forward like this, and do this!" Ryohei explained with a series of actions.
As you watched him, you had come to realised that Ryohei was an unbelievably bad teacher. You could feel a sweatdrop fall from your forehead as you tried to understand his instructions.
"Lik- Like this?" You asked as you hesitantly copied his actions. Placing your feet the same way as his and bringing up your hands and jabbing them out the same way.
"No no! Extremely no! You're not putting enough umpf and power!"
Upon hearing his comment, you tried again but this time with more confidence. As he didn't say anything else your form being wrong, you repeated with the same stance.
"Yes that's it! Now you need to be more extreme!"
You were beginning to get slightly pissed at how you couldn't perform punch which your senpai had dubbed at the 'Extreme straight'. Of course you knew how to punch yet the person that was currently in front of you would say otherwise. Out of anger, you groaned out as you jabbed out your arm particularly hard. "UGH!"
You bit down on your lower lip when you realised that you had used more power than you had intended to. You turned your head to look at Ryohei's reaction, holding back a wince when you saw the eyes were about to pop out of his head.
"Yes... YES YES YES! THAT WAS EXTREME! EXTREMELY PERFECT!" Ryohei roared out with passion, his body seemed to be shaking with excitement as he grabbed onto your arm. "YOU HAVE TO JOIN THE BOXING CLUB!"
"I'll..." You struggled to think of an excuse as to why you didn't want to join. "I'll think about it." You gave him a polite smile, hoping that he would get the hint but he was oblivious. He didn't say anything but just stared at you with his grip still tight around your arm. Your expression was blank as you stared back at him, confused as to where his enthusiasm vanished off to as this was the first time when you didn't see him talk or more like shout.
The air became chilly as the sun setted more quickly than ever, there was a beautiful gradient of a bright orange to deep blue in the sky. Ryohei still wasn't letting loose of his grip so you continued to stare back at him. There were many things about him that made you curious like his bandaged hands and the plaster on the bridge of his nose. You wondered if he got injured often when you spotted a scar running past the end of his left eyebrow.
"Okay... What's your answer?" His sudden soft voice made you jump. Your eyes drifted around as you tried to figure out what he was on about.
"Well you just said you needed to think about it so I gave you time. Will you join the boxing club?"
You were speechless at his words but you couldn't help but laugh at his antics. "I... ahahahah! Can you... haha- Give me until tomorrow?"
Ryohei seemed to be alright with your suggestion. He nodded as he finally lets go of you. He looked up at the sky with a gasp. "It's this late already?! I have to extremely hurry back home or I'll miss Kyoko's extreme dinner!" He groaned in a panicked voice, jogging up and down on the spot. "I'll see you tomorrow then, Tsukiko! I'll be reserving your extreme spot for you in the boxing club!"
You waved goodbye to him with a small grin, watching him run back home with an impressive speed. You soon remembered that Shiro was probably waiting back at home for you to make dinner as well.
"Ops... Look's like we're having ordering a takeaway today~"
(o u o) (o u o) (o u o)
As soon as you walked through the door of your house, you almost screamed out in shock. You were surprised to see that your brother was just sitting two paces away from the door. Just sitting, and staring at you.
Holding your hand against your rapid beating chest, you took in a long, deep breath to calm yourself down before managing to whisper "What the fuck Shiro... I think you just shaved ten years off my life..." You groaned as you shut the door behind you.
"Where have you been? I've been waiting for you for two hours now!" Shiro grumbled with what seemed to be a pout on his face. He crosses his arms to convey that he was unhappy through his body language.
"I know! I'm sorry!" His scolding made you look down. Shuffling towards him, you knelt down beside him to look at him in the eyes before holding up the bag that you were hiding behind your back. "I know you're hungry so I brought us some Chinese takeaway~" You gave him a bright smile whilst tugging on his arm. "Let's eat! I brought back your favorite!"
When Shiro saw your smile, he couldn't find in himself to stay angry with you. He could never stay angry at you for long ever since both of you were little. "Alright, alright~" He chuckled as he raised his hand towards you, signalling for you to help pull him up.
You grinned widely as you stood up to give him a hand. Gripping onto his hand, you continued to drag him towards the dining table.
"So..." You started chitchatting as you set out the food on the table after pushing Shiro down in a chair. "This guy asked me to join the boxing club today." You thought back to Ryohei and his 'extreme's' as you rushed to get the utensils.
Your brother perked up at the sudden talk about boxing which was something that he took some interest in but never thought that you did as well. "I didn't know that you liked boxing."
"Me neither... So... Should I join or not?" You tilted your head as you took a seat opposite from your brother.
"Well..." He stared at you before shoving a sweet and sour pork into your mouth. "If you want to join, then why don't you join?"
"It seems like it's going to be fun but... the guy who invited me is so..." You held up your hands to pulled down your pointer and middle finger, making quotation marks in the air "extreme"
"I don't know if I'll be able to survive his insaneness." You sighed as thought back to how he had taught you have to perform a simple punch.
"You're from the Tsukiko family so no matter how insane it is, you can do it." He nodded his head before stopping mid-nod to look at you. "A guy huh..." Shiro smirked as he leaned in towards you. "I forgot to ask but since when did you have so many guy friends?"
The question made you blink as you couldn't really think of an answer so you answered his question with another question. "Why can't I have guy friends?"
"When did I say that you can't?" He chuckles as he reaches over to pinch your cheek. "That Hibari seems pretty into you~ Awh my little Mimi is growing up so fast!"
"Wha-" You spluttered out as you slapped his hands away to cup your cheeks, preventing them from being pinched any further. "He wants to kill me, he's not playing kiss chase with me!"
Your brother bursted out laughing. "Well you never know~" His laughter died down and his smile quickly transitioned into a pout again. For some reason, you're found that your brother has developed a cute habit. "You didn't even tell me you made new friends! You used to tell me everything!"
You looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, surprised at his sudden change of mood. "I was going to tell you but you just suddenly appeared yesterday without even a work of warning or anything! I was just so shocked I must have forgot." You nodded your head.
He hummed softly to acknowledge your excuse. "Okay fine! But you have to tell me everything after tonight!"
You smiled and you held up a small piece of barbecued pork towards him with your chopsticks. "Of course! But why after tonight?"
Shiro munched on the piece of meat happily. "A client contacted me as soon as I left your school this afternoon," Your posture straightened immediately, when you heard your brother talking about a client. "we have a mission today."
His words made you gasp out in delight. "You said 'we'! Does that mean I'm going with you?" You bounced in your seat in excitement.
Shiro nodded his head to answer your question. "The client insisted."
"Really? That's weird, not much people request for my help..." You sulked. "But anyway, what's the mission?"
"Hmm, he said that he wanted your help as well. He asked for us to investigate the Vongola tenth boss."
"The Vongola tenth boss?" A sudden heavy feeling made your heart sink. 'Where have I heard that before?' You thought.
A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everybody is enjoying 2016 so far~
I'm beginning to add a bit more to the OC's background to make it more interesting and I really hope that you like what I've got planned for you hehe~
It seems like some of you really like Shiro so I'll try to include him more. I've also have other fun ideas of other OCs which I think that you'll all enjoy!
Oh and btw if you don't know what a kiss chase is, it's basically like a children's game like tag but instead of tapping the other person 'it', you have to kiss them. I hope that makes sense.
