Jon POV;
It was hours later, and I felt so relieved. I had finally proposed to Nicole. I had been dreaming of that moment for so long, corny as it sounds. In typical Nicole fashion, she wanted something a little more than just a post on Instagram or whatever it's called. So we decided to throw a small party at the house. How she convinced all our family and friends to fly out last minute.. I'll never know. She was in her dressing room getting ready. I knew she was doing her hair, because she had music on and was humming. I loved this woman more than my own life, but she can't sing worth shit. I sat on the bed, rugged lips curved into a smile as I recalled this morning's events. I gave off a little yawn, leaning my back against the headboard to rest my eyes. She'd be a little while longer anyway. Minutes passed by, flew by even, as he waited for his fiancée. He nodded off, an image soon popping into his mind. He, Nicole, and two little kids. A boy and a girl, to be exact. They were having a family picnic in some kind of park. He just observed his dream self, and family. All of a sudden he was woken up by the sound of Nicole's voice. "People are almost here, get dressed!" She chuckled softly, and I smiled. "Okay, but do I really have to wear a suit for this babe?" I hated them with a passion, truth be told. I knew I had no choice at the wedding, but a party? "I won't force you tonight, but I'm dressing up." This made me chuckle, shaking my head a little. "Nik' you dress up like, all the time." A small smile appeared on her lips, she knew I was right. "I mean more so, goofball." Now c'moooon!" She took my hand and pulled me up, nearly chucking me at the dresser. "Okay! Go put your fancy dress on." She smiled at me and made her way back to the dressing room. We were certainly polar opposites on some things, but it just clicked anyway.
(Forty minutes later.)
I decided to put on dark jeans, and a black dress top like thing. I wanted to at least look good standing beside my future wife. I walked downstairs to see a bit of decorations and such put up around the main rooms. She amazed me with everything she could do. She did have the little party catered however. Not because she herself couldn't cook, because she could. She just had no time to. She walked downstairs a few minutes later, dropping my jaw. Eyes staring at the woman of my dreams. She was wearing a long red dress, which hugged her every curve. It was bittersweet when she dressed like this around him, because she looked so beautiful, but he wanted to rip her clothes off and make love to her right then and there. Obviously, he had some self control and wouldn't do that. "Look okay?" I nodded to her, smiling softly. "Amazing, absolutely amazing." Her face lit up. She valued my opinion over just about anyone's and I loved that. Most people didn't give a shit, so it always made me feel special. "People should be here any minute," I added. I took her hand into mine, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You ready to tell everyone that I'm lockin' you down?" I chuckled, leaning in to plant a kiss on her cheek. "More than ready, it'll be hard for me to not yell it as soon as they all get here." She chuckled too, leaving a bright smile. It was hard to believe this was my life. Like I told Nicole, I didn't see me bein' this kind of guy. Not until I met her. Most grade-a douches say women change them, but they're still pretty fucking shitty. When I say Nicole changed me, she truly did. Just then the doorbell rang, and Nicole moved to open it excitedly. It was her mom, and her new husband John Laurinaitis. We just attended their wedding last weekend, I believe. She smiled and hugged them, I moved along to do the same. Her brother and his wife followed, then Brie and Bryan, and her Nana. Some of my family followed, Joe, his wife and daughter and WWE friends after that. The room kept filling, and finally Nicole hit the side of her glass to get everyone's attention. Never understood how that worked, but hey, I wasn't gonna complain. I gave her hand another soft squeeze. "Now, I'm sure you're all wondering what the point of this is.. and why it was so urgent." Nicole said, everyone laughing. I then spoke up, "You all know Nicole. Simple ain't her deal." Which garnered another laugh from everyone. She nudged me playfully before I continued. "The reason this beautiful woman and I have asked you here, is to announce something very special." My gaze moved to Nicole, knowing she wanted to be the one to say it. There was a pause before she did. "Jon proposed! We're getting married!" The whole room broke out into cheers and applause. I felt my cheeks getting a little hot, and Nicole turned me to plant a soft kiss onto my lips. I held her closely, just for a moment before people flocked to her to see the ring and all that shit. Joe approached me, smiling from ear to ear. "Damn, man. Never thought this day would come." We both chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. I was a mess, remind me some more why don't ya'?" He just shook his head. We both gazed over to Nicole, who was surrounded by people. She was showing the ring to Joe's daughter, JoJo. "That gonna happen too?" He asked. My initial reaction was "Huh?" but then I realized what he meant. "Man, I dunno. Anything is possible." He just looked at me. Hell, I'd have done it to me too. This was all a complete 180 from where I was two years ago. Just then, the door swung open. Nicole looked at me, and I back at her. Everyone invited was already inside. But the questions would have to wait, as John Cena strolled inside. The look on Nicole's face was sheer panic. It was clear as day he was drunk off his ass, and that never ended well..
