It was easy. Elsa ran to the shower, stripped off her clothes, and turned on the hot water. She let it run throughout her body, and leaped out, drying herself quickly. The hot water made her quite pink and her skin warm. She grabbed the thermometer from the medicine cabinet and dipped it in the now scalding water. She placed it in the same spot it had been and slowly walked downstairs, holding her hand to her forehead. Anna saw her and immediately ran up to her.
"Ugh... Gerda, I don't feel well at all."
"Are you sure, honey?"
"I think she's right Gerda, feel her head. She collapsed earlier too."
"Than you simply must get some rest. I'll get you lunch now, take your temperature and I'll bring you dinner in the evening. Upstairs, Elsa. No protests."
Elsa pretended to begin to protest, but stopped. She had always been good at acting. As Anna brought Elsa back to bed with lunch, and tucked her in, Elsa thanked her and pretended to drift off to sleep. Seconds after Anna left, she hopped out of bed, threw her lunch into a plastic bag which she put in a satchel with a plastic shovel and a small, plastic flower pot. Using pillows to create a shape alike to her body beneath her blankets, Elsa simply hopped out the window, slowly climbing down the orphanage wall in her thin gloves.
Taking a look at her pocket watch, she had six hours to get the flower before Gerda would come and get her dinner. Though she might come early, she decided to make it five. Pocketing the watch, she walked for about an hour and a half, and she had eaten half of her lunch. Elsa decided to save the rest for later. It was late afternoon already, but she could see the hill. As she finally got to the top, She could see several bushes the book had described. But no flowers. Had several people already picked them? Elsa looked around a bit more, but she couldn't find a speck of the golden colour. However, when she tripped over a root from a nearby tree, she toppled straight into a bush- where she found the bush slightly hollow, and the gorgeous golden flower inside! Relieved, she took our her plastic shovel and began to scrape at the dirt. The shovel was better than using her hands, but being plastic, it still took a bit of time. Finally unearthing the flower, she plucked off one of what she guessed to be a seed, and replanted the flower in the earth. Struggling out of the bush, Elsa wiped the little trickle of blood from a small cut on her cheek, and placed the flower into the tiny pot, trying her best to use leaves on the ground to keep the flower steady inside her satchel. Taking out the other half of her lunch, she walked back to the orphanage in triumph.
When Elsa got back, she placed a bandage on her cut and hid the flower underneath her bed. Taking out her pillows and going back into the bed, she had only just begun to drift to sleep when Gerda brought in her dinner. The warm soup was soothing from the cold outside, and the buttered bread with it was delicious. As Gerda cleaned up and left, Elsa was very satisfied with the day. She had gotten the flower, and had a great dinner. Now she thought about the cure. There was lots of oil in the basement she could easily nick, but a singing voice was one thing. she couldn't think of someone with just the right voice. She didn't have a great one, Anna was too attached to Hans to sing, and Elsa cringed at the thought of when the last Disney movie came out and the girls at the orphanage had been singing the same song for days on end, with a rather revolting voice. Elsa decided to just get the oil tonight, and worry about the voice later. She told herself to get rest now as she would need to get up in the middle of the night, so she did.
When Elsa awoke, it was already eleven at night, and the room was dark. Everyone was asleep, and most of the staff wouldn't be awake either. So she pulled on a pair of socks, took a dim flashlight, and an empty plastic water bottle, and walked as quietly as she could downstairs into the basement.
The basement wasn't as eerie as it was like in books, it had a nice carpet and several rooms. As she explored through room after room, she found the storage room marked "OIL." She slowly opened the door, to which there was only a simple pump and a couple small crates. Taking out her bottle, she pumped a bit of oil so it was about a quarter filled. Satisfied, she was about to leave when she heard the tip tap of footsteps. Quickly clicking off her flashlight, she ran behind a crate and could only hope for the best. One of the staff members opened the door, walked in, and was about to take the crate right in front of her, and she accidentally gave a small squeal. Clamping her hand over her mouth, the staff member looked behind him, but didn't seem to see Elsa. Although puzzled, he proceeded to take the crate- beside Elsa's. Elsa managed to just shift slightly so he wouldn't see her, but her heart was beating so fast she swore she had only just missed being caught. Absolutely terrified, Elsa waited a couple minutes before going back upstairs.
As she slowly creaked the door of the girl's bedroom open, she heard a voice that made her jump. Somebody was singing in the bathroom for some reason. Elsa, now as quiet as she possibly could be, slowly lifted her bed sheets to place the oil under it, and was greeted with an absolutely blinding light. The flower was glowing as radiant as the sun, and all though it was absolutely gorgeous, Elsa let go of the bed sheets as fast as she could, the girl had stopped singing and was coming out of the bathroom. As she walked out, Elsa and Rapunzel both gave a silent scream, holding their hand to their chest in surprise.
"Elsa! You scared me to death!"
"I scared you to death? I thought I was dead for sure!"
"What are you doing here at eleven thirty?!"
"I should be asking you the same question!"
"I-I just needed to use the bathroom, that's all!"
"You're lying, Rapunzel. You're too easy to read."
"Well than.. I'll tell you at the same time you tell me."
"Okay. One, two,"
""I was trying to find the cure to the love potion!""
""You were? So was I!""
"Rapunzel, I still don't think singing is finding a cure exactly."
"Believe it or not, it is. It's the incantation you have to sing for the potion, I don't have the ingredients for the cure yet, I need a flower, some oil, and another thing, but-"
"Rapunzel, I have the flower and the oil!"
"What!?"
"I'll get Anna's hair right now. Get in the closet!"
"Okay!"
Elsa ran over to her and Anna's bunk bed, climbing up the ladder and simply plucking a hair from her head. She took out the flower, which was no longer glowing, and the oil. She got inside the closet, slowly closing the door, where Rapunzel was patiently sitting at the back of the large closet. Elsa cut the top of the bottle of oil away, and dropped the petals, Anna's hair, and the flower nectar in with the help or Rapunzel. The black oil turned a pleasant shade of pink, than clear.
"But that looks like the love potion." Rapunzel said, biting her lip.
"That's because we haven't stirred yet, and we haven't added all the nectar. This is the love potion, so we need to turn it into the cure."
Elsa was biting her lip as she said it, she was worried she wouldn't be able to do it. taking out a tall, slim, spoon, she stirred in several strange ways, Rapunzel slowly adding nectar every so often. Finally, the potion turned a pretty, pale lilac, and than clear again.
"Now to see if it works. Since there's only one hair in here, if it didn't work, It's supposed to taste terrible, but nothing else. But if it does, apparently I'm supposed to feel "floaty."
Elsa took about half a spoonful of the clear, sweet smelling liquid and tipped it into her mouth. As she swallowed, she felt better than she had ever felt since she became friends with Anna. It was indescribable, but she felt happy, and it tasted like every pleasant taste in the world put into one amazingly pleasant thing. Elsa gave a small sigh, and she thought that if it was like to feel "floaty", than she thought it felt great.
"So? Did it work?"
"Yes. And it's a GREAT feeling. Here, have a tiny bit." Elsa happily chirped, tipping another half spoonful into Rapunzel's mouth.
"Mmmm..." Rapunzel breathed.
"I know. It's great."
"We'll give it to her tomorrow. Let's get to sleep."
"Okay."
Rapunzel climbed into her bed before Elsa carefully placed the cure under her bed, and than climbed into bed herself. They both drifted off to sleep nicely, the floaty feeling still with them until they awoke the next morning. Rapunzel still snoring, Elsa quickly got ready for breakfast. Shaking Rapunzel awake before going downstairs, Elsa skipped out the room to eat Gerda's french toast.
After breakfast, Rapunzel came downstairs with a little teacup, about a fourth of the cure inside it. Elsa helped Rapunzel pour a bit of hot chocolate in it. They were devastated to see Anna attached to Hans, stuck in conversation, Anna's eyes almost completely a sickening pink.
"Morning Hans~!"
"Good morning, Anna."
"Oh you're such a GENTLEMAN Hans~"
"Thank you Anna. I know I am."
"So Ha-"
"Anna, can I ask you something."
"Anything, Hans~"
"Could we make a bond?"
"About what~?"
"That no matter what, we are going to get married."
"Of course you know the answer to that, Hansie~"
Elsa and Rapunzel's jaw dropped. Even for something like this, even if they cured Anna, they knew how devoted Anna was to keeping promises. Rapunzel had told Elsa before how ever since her parents were killed, Anna promised to never, ever break a promise, a bond, it was her father's favourite motto. They were both devastated. Elsa knew even if they freed Anna from the potion, she wouldn't really be free at all.
"Than it's settled! This decision is set. Unbreakable!"
"Of course!"
"Could you just say so, to make it official?"
"Alright."
Anna's eyes crystallized to her beautiful, deep aqua eyes.
"My answer is no."
"What?"
"I never said yes. I said my answer was obvious. My answer was no."
Anna's eyes glimmered again to the sickening pink. She fluttered her eyelashes.
"Oh Hans~ I-"
Anna's eyes came back to aqua. She gave a disgusted look at Hans. And than suddenly Anna's eyes were like a slot machine, beautifully crystallizing to an aquamarine, and than flushing a sickeningly sweet pink. She was like a broken record, nobody had any idea that this could happen. Elsa finally had enough, pulling Anna by the collar and forcing the hot chocolate down her throat. Anna collapsed in her arms, and in a few seconds, her eyes slowly fluttered open.
"Anna?" Hans smiled weakly.
Anna slowly walked over to Hans, cupping her hand on Hans's cheek, smiling. Rapunzel gasped.
And Anna punched Hans square in the face.
"Nice try."
Elsa gave a respectful clap to Anna, giving a forceful yet graceful looking punch to Hans's head, knocking him out, and hugging her best friend. Rapunzel ran over herself to embrace her cousin. The two took her upstairs for her to explain, and Anna told them everything.
"I sorta like clicked on and off, one second I was me and the next I'm not, most of the time I wasn't though. I can hear and stuff, but I can't feel or see anything. It's weird. And when Hans wanted me to marry him, I kind of flipped out and trying to get control. And than suddenly I was changing super fast! Love potions are weird."
"Anna. Could you..taste anything?"
"Nope"
Elsa and Rapunzel gave a playful gasp, excitedly telling Anna about the cure's taste, they gave her her own spoonful to try. Anna found the cure just as amazing as the other two, and they were all happy and normal again. Suddenly, Gerda called for them all to come to the park, and they ran off.
And they were happy.
Woah, this update was faster than others. Writing lovey dovey Anna is sickening, I'll tell you that. Not really much else to say :P
