Chapter 10: running, again.
"So where are we going now?" Leana asked, she was in a really good mood.
Fox smiled at her, and chuckled. "I have a friend that will make you a citizen," he said. "We are going to see her now."
"Her?" Leana asked stopping in mid step.
"yeah, she is a senator, and if anyone can help you it's her," he explained, then mentally smacked himself it would have been smarter to have just told her they were going to see a friend, then Leana wouldn't be so…
"A senator?" she began. "You mean the people who allowed Ziro get away?" she asked.
"It wasn't their fault, they were being held hostage, and the Hutt was able to leave because of the bounty hunters," Fox explained.
"I'm not going," she said then turned around and started walking the other way, back to the barracks.
"Leana don't do this, it's too dangerous for you to be out alone," he nearly begged.
"I can do fine on my own," she spat and continued walking.
Fox walked towards her, stopped and looked up, something glimmering in the distance, and that's when it registered in his head, it was a collector, aiming at Leana. He ran to her pulling her back and away from the collector's sight, he must be working with someone else, it was the only logical reason for him to be so high with a sniper. Leana freaked out at first, she started hitting him, demanding why he was being so cautious, Fox didn't answer her, he took off his jacket and wrapped her in it, and making sure the hood of it covered her golden hair.
"go to miss Amidala, I'll meet you there, alright, please Leana I know you don't want to but, for just this once will you listen to me?"
Leana pouted then sighed. "Fine, but, I better see you, you have a map to her place?" she asked.
"Here, be careful alright?"
"Aren't I always?" she laughed halfheartedly, as she took the holo with the map on it.
Fox kissed the top of her head, then sent her off, after she was out of sight, he walked on through the allies going over to the senator's private apartments.
Leana kept the hood down, and Fox's jacket was more like a zip up dress on her, and she laughed to herself about it, it was far too big for her, she followed the map to the best of her ability and met up at a clone check point, since the hostage thing security went up. This seemed to piss her off, she didn't know how well planned Fox's idea was, how was she supposed to see this senator, if she can't get through the front door?
With a light shrug she walked on, hoping that the clones would just leave her alone, but of course not, it was their job to check everything.
"Halt," one of them called, and Leana listened, not wanting to cause any more problems for herself.
"Yes?" she asked softly, not making eye contact.
"Where are you going Ma'am?" he asked.
"I'm waiting for a friend, he and I were going to see a senator," she said tilting her head slightly so that he could see her eyes, from underneath the hood.
"Right and where's your clearance for that?" He asked.
Leana took one step forward and narrowed her eyes. "I don't have time for this, now you can let me go, or we will have to do this the hard way."
The other two troopers walked over ready to arrest her if she tried to, then one of them spoke up, saying how he recognized that jacket, Leana turned her head to him, and then looked down at the jacket.
"How do you know I didn't buy it from a store?" she asked.
"Cause only Fox would put his number on the hood," the trooper responded with a wide smile.
"…what?" Leana took off the jacket and looked at the hood, and sure enough it had Fox's number, and don't touch right underneath it. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "Some class Fox."
She smiled, laughed a little then it hit her, where was Fox? Shouldn't he already be here? She turned around and looked towards where he should have come from, but there was nothing.
Fox could have had a more dangerous plan then the one he was using right now, if he wasn't watching Leana who the hell was? And if the collectors think that he still has her, then well, he's shit out of luck then now isn't he? As it turns out he is doomed to have bad luck. He turned the corner and continued running, if he remembered the map right, which he did, the next turn would take him to another ally the leads to the open street.
"Just my luck," he sighed as he skidded to a stop, he stood in front of a tall wall, it was a dead end, and he had to think, how the hell id he lead himself into a dead-end.
He turned around, thinking that if he was fast enough he would get out of this predicament, he was wrong.
"Look who we found in the ally boys, a meat droid out of uniform," one of the men laughed.
"Shut up," the other hissed then looked back at Fox, who had taken the time to sneak out their side.
"stupid freaks, their lucky I'm on a timed schedule," he said with a growl deep in his throat.
