"What are you talking about?" Alex said crossing her arms, Regina sighed, her daughter was very stubborn, a trait that was acquired by her.

"Sit." Regina said returning to their original seating.

"When you both were conceived we were living in Storybrooke, a little town I created with a curse."

"A curse?" Alex asked

"That's a tale for another day. Now when the latest curse was broken we all came back here to the enchanted forest, previously I made a deal with the author." Regina said

"An author?" Alex mumbled

"This author, she is very powerful with her pen she can change and rewrite stories, I would have died in childbirth and I didn't think that was fair, I couldn't get the chance to lay my eyes on either of you. She told me that and she said she could help me." Regina said letting a few tears escape her eyes, "She said I could have a year with you girls then we would have to separate, our whole family would have to. But as the curse broke I thought that being in another realm may be a loophole to escape her deal." Regina closed her eyes, "But it wasn't, she came back and threatened me and told me I couldn't tell anyone, even your father. Then the next morning I had to fake a heartbreaking fight with your father, he never came back." Regina said

"Mom." Alex said chewing her lip she had tears filling her eyes, "I didn't know, I'm so sorry." Alex said snuggling up to Regina.

"I haven't seen the author for a while now, but Tinkerbell came to me this evening and informed me of some valuable information."

"About the sorceress thing?" Alex asked, Regina nodded

"The original sorcerer has died, the apprentice delivered the new to Snow White's castle and warned them that the next sorcerer will be a girl, but he said-" Regina hesitated, Alex had already told her how afraid she was with her dark magic, this news might frighten her even more. Alex looked up at her confusion on her face. Regina cleared her throat.

"There will be two girls who will help each other and split the sorcerer's power, and those two will be the most powerful sorceresses that any realm has ever seen." Regina finished

"Avery and I." Alex mumbled "We are the two, aren't we?" Alex asked, Regina nodded

"If the author finds out I'm afraid that she might hurt the both of you." Regina added

Alex closed her eyes and racked her brain there was something she was forgetting, then she remembered and gasped.

"What is it?" Regina asked

"There has been a figure watching, I think it's a she and she's always lurking in the shadows, I just thought it was nothing but maybe it might be the-"

"Author." Regina said, Alex nodded

"I think we should warn Avery, who knows she might know that it isn't me." Alex said, Regina shook her head

"No, we can warn her but not tell her yet, she doesn't handle well with situations like this."

"Then we have to warn her then." Alex said

"And we will, don't worry." Regina said about to flick her wrists

"I have this mirror." Alex said placing her palm open and mover her other hand in a circular motion just like how Avery did the first time.

"Great." Regina said smiling

"Concentrate on your sister, her features and anything else you can remember, then when you have a clear visual of her, call her name and it should work." Regina said, Alex nodded and concentrated.

"Do you ever get the sense when you had something really important to say but then you forget?" Riley said dragging a stick behind him.

"Uhm, yeah I guess." Avery mumbled

"Like something super important." Riley mumbled, he stopped right in the middle of the path, Avery almost knocking him over.

"Hey, what's up specs?" Avery asked trying to sound like Alex.

"Don't kill me because I literally just remembered."

"What is it?"

"So, your father, our leader, he invited Lucas to stay with us for a few days till the hunt is over and all." Riley said softly, Avery stood there, she didn't know how to react to this news, Alex hadn't mentioned a Lucas.

"Interesting." Avery said

"Yeah, that's going to be super awkward." Riley said continuing their walk back to the camp.

"Why?" Avery said following him, he stopped again and turned around, Avery almost walking right into him again.

"You seriously need to stop doing that."

"Alex, you don't remember or something?" Riley said studying her, Avery shrugged

"I need a refresher, Avery told me her whole life story, I'm still trying to sort things in my head, it must have slipped my mind." Avery lied

"Right." Riley said slightly suspicious "Anyways, Lucas is apparently some infamous thief very much like your dad, you know stealing from the rich giving to the poor. Anyways I think around this time last year he asked your dad to take your hand in marriage-"

"What!" Avery yelled, Riley jumped a little.

"I mean go on." Avery said

"Anyways." Riley said clearing his throat "You got super mad because of your whole 'I don't need a man'." Riley said air quoting her.

"But then you met him and you got all super proper but when he asked you, you left camp for like a whole week and you still didn't tell me where you went." Riley said folding his arms.

"Well." Avery said pausing, "I have my reasons." She said walking ahead of him, she saw smoke and assumed that's where the merry men lived, it was a beautiful site to see, the thick green forest surrounding the camp, they were one with nature and it looked pretty peaceful down there. As they walked deeper into the camp everyone acknowledged her and greeted her.

"Hey, I'll meet you at the feast, you should probably get washed up." Riley said about to leave

"Wait." Avery said, Riley turned around, "Where is my tent?" Avery asked biting her lip, hoping she wouldn't get caught, Alex mentioned where the tent was but now being there, all the tents looked alike.

"That one." Riley said pointing to a fairly large tent.

"Right." Avery said, "See you later specs."

"Yeah." Riley said shaking his head, "You sure you're okay Alex?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, just a little tired." Avery lied leaving him in his thoughts, she pushed through the tent flaps, her sister's tent was quite large, not as big as her room but it was cute. She removed her shoes, the floor was covered with some kind of fur that was black, the whole room was lit with candles, there was a huge bed smack in the middle, to the right of the door was a dresser on top of it was a huge mirror. To the right of the bed was a little table with a bowl filled with water and another mirror, she splashed water on her face and stared into the mirror, she was going to meet her father soon, the moment she's been waiting for, her whole life.

"Avery." A voice called out softly, Avery turned around expecting to see someone, but no one was there. She shook her head and started walking to her sister's dresser.

"Avery!" the voice said louder, Avery looked around.

"Who's talking?" Avery whisper yelled, she didn't want anyone to hear her.

"Stupid! Mirror." The voice yelled, Avery pulled out the mirror laughing at herself, she should had known. She looked into the small handheld mirror, she saw herself, but it wasn't, it was Alex.

"Hey, sorry-" Avery started to say

"Please be careful Avery." Alex said holding the mirror and looking at her sister.

"Of course, I mean the forest isn't that scary and all." Avery said crossing the room to sit on the bed.

"No, there's new things that just happened but I don't think it would be wise to tell you like this, I mean mom suggested that we-"

"You told mom about us?" Avery said in disbelief "She's going to kill-"

"I'm not going to kill you." A voice said from somewhere off of the mirror, Regina sat next to Alex so that both their faces were in the mirror.

"Hi mom." Avery mumbled

"I'm not mad." Regina said softly

"You're not?" Avery asked

"Of course not." Regina said smiling a little, "I just want you to be careful, especially now."

"What aren't you telling me mom?" Avery asked, Alex and Regina exchanged looks.

"I'll tell you when you return, I want the both of you." Regina said

"But Alex already knows, why can't you tell me now?" Avery whined, Regina rose her eyebrow, signaling Avery to stop throwing a fit.

"Okay, okay." Avery mumbled, "Listen quick question Alex."

"Yeah?" Alex said

"Around this time last year, you ran away from camp for about a week because of Lucas. Where did you go exactly?" Avery asked, Alex had her mouth open.

"Uhm, can we not go there over the mirror." Alex said, Regina turned to her giving her a look.

"What?" Alex said

"This wouldn't be Lucas Cabot." Regina said

"You know him?" Alex asked

"Did your father try to marry you to him?" Regina asked

"Something like that." Alex said

"He would do that." Regina said shaking her head

"Uhm, why am I the only one not knowing who he is?" Avery said

"Sorry Avery, but just ignore him. He's quite the charmer and all but I swear he is the biggest flirt in the world." Alex said

"Alex, you ready?" a voice called from outside the tent.

"One minute!" Avery yelled back. She looked back down to the mirror, "I'll talk to you later, and I have to go to this feast thing."

"Crap, the feast and the hunt!" Alex said "I forgot about that, things might be a bit hard for you now."

"What why?" Avery asked

"It just involves a lot of physical activity." Regina said

"No." Avery groaned "You know how much I hate doing anything." Avery said

"We know." Alex said laughing, Avery glared at her sister.

"Well, you have to wear the white dress on the top shelf in the dresser and the flower crown on top of the dresser." Alex added, Avery placed the mirror down and grabbed the white dress and crown.

"This is a crown made of twigs leaves and rarely flowers, I hardly would call this a flower crown Alex." Avery said putting on the white dress, it was interesting, something she would never wear but it was flattering, it was long sleeved, exposed her shoulders and had a slight V-neck, it reached the floor and was very simple.

"Part your hair in the middle then put on the crown." Alex yelled, she couldn't tell if her sister heard or not, she was staring at the tent's ceiling.

"Yeah I will." Avery said following her instructions, she parted her black hair and placed the crown on her head. She picked up the mirror and smiled.

"Happy now?" Avery teased

"Very much. Now shouldn't you be going?" Alex said

"Yeah, you're right, I'll let you know how this feast thing goes." Avery said about to flick her wrist to return the mirror to its original, ordinary self.

"Wait." Regina said

"Yes?" Avery said looking at her mother and twin.

"Be safe, and if anything happens, use your magic to pouf yourself back to the castle." Regina stated

"But you never let me use magic and-"

"I know, but things are different now. Just please." Regina paused and looked at Alex then Avery, "Be on your feet and aware of your surrounding my love."

"Okay mom, I love you and you too Alex." Avery said smiling

"We love you too." Regina said

"Bye Avery." Alex said

"Bye Alex." Avery said flicking her wrist the mirror disappeared, she took a deep breathe looked at herself in the mirror then pushed through the tent's flaps.
