Tori and Mark's wedding ceremony took place in a beautiful old church only a couple of streets away from Mark's parents house. When Beck, Jade, Cat and Andre arrived together, the seats were already filled on the grooms side of the church. And although Tori's side was a little less abundant, there were still way more people there than they had expected, considering her parents reaction. The four friends sat down in a row near the middle, next to Robbie and Ryan.
"Are we supposed to be silent?" Cat whispered.
"Uh huh. I think so." Beck replied. The room was unusually quiet for a wedding and he and Jade had been to their fair share of weddings in the time they'd been together. Jade's Father had married four times, his Mother twice, Jade's Mother twice, his older Sister once, Jade's older Sister twice and several cousins. And Beck and Jade had attended most of them together. Evidently, very few of them had lasted.
Not feeling able to talk in the extreme silence that they were faced with, Jade just took a good look around the church. The flowers were white and violet which matched not only the invitations but Marks shirt and tie. The groom was stood at the front with the best man facing the front. He didn't seem nervous but it was hard to tell anything from his stoic expression. Light harp music was being played as background music and a flautist stood nearby. All she could think about was how sickeningly traditional this all was. It was beautiful no one could take that away from it but Jade decided if this were her wedding, it would be a lot more modern.
"Please stand for the bride." The minister requested. Everybody stood and turned round to face the doors as two men slowly pulled them open and the flautist began to play. A cute little girl with blonde hair and freckles skipped down the aisle scattering white petals everywhere. Several people awed and Mark waved sweetly to her when she sat down at the front next to Mark's parents.
Rae walked out next wearing a violet bridesmaids dress and carrying white flowers. She caught Jades eye as she got closer and winked, eyeing Beck up and down. Jade narrowed her eyes and slinked her fingers between Beck's protectively. Luckily the tanned guy was oblivious to what had just happened and only thought Jade was being sweet.
A couple of other girls that the gang didn't know in matching violet bridesmaid dresses walked down the aisle until lastly Trina emerged, grinning slightly maniacally. Andre's heart pounded as he knew who was next and he almost didn't want to look. On the one hand, seeing Tori in her wedding dress would feel like he was being stabbed in the gut. But on the other hand he also couldn't bare to see Mark's face when he caught a first glimpse at his bride. There was no doubt about it, she was going to look beautiful. Mark was going to melt.
When Tori finally stepped into view, there was an audible gasp. Her hair was long and straight but with a loose curl at the end. Her dress was snowy white and princess-like and there wasn't a person in that church who wasn't completely stunned by her beauty. It was like something straight out of a fairytale.
Just before Tori reached the front, Mark stepped forwards and took hold of her hand, kissing it. She hadn't had anyone to walk her down the aisle or give her away so it was very sweet that he met her half way. Tori smiled and looked relieved whilst they walked the final few steps together.
When everyone was once again seated and the ceremony had begun, Beck and Jade both glanced nervously in their roommates direction. They both had some idea how hard this was for him to sit through and honestly, Tori looked like a princess today. There was no way Andre wasn't dying inside. He was keeping his cool though and trying not to let it show. Beck nudged his shoulder and Andre gave a weak smile back. This wasn't up to him.
Andre barely heard any of the ceremony. He listened to Tori and Mark saying their vows and wished with all his being that it was him up there. That it was him that Tori promised to love and cherish, in sickness and in health, till death do they part. But it wasn't. He was too late.
He remembered all the times he wanted to ask Tori out in high school. How close they came to kissing after almost every duet they sung together which was a lot. His stomach fluttered with butterflies when he was around her and his heart ached for her. His body craved her.
"If anyone has a reason for these two not to wed, speak now or forever hold your peace." Andre was snapped back into the present by the minister addressing the guests. It was completely silent in the room but all he wanted to do was jump out of his seat and scream that he was in love with her. He loved her. He should be marrying her not this douche bag she met less than a year ago!
"Andre!" Jade hissed, noticing how her friend was biting his lip anxiously and threatening to stand up in objection. She reached across her boyfriend to take hold of Andre's hand and squeezed it tight. Andre frowned at her pleadingly but she just widened her eyes and shook her head in warning. Andre exhaled sitting back down.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The minister announced. Tori and Mark both smiled happily and leant in to kiss each other and everyone applauded. Tori was shaking slightly but looked happier than ever before as they walked down the aisle together and out of the church. The ceremony only took an hour in total and it seemed like it flew by. Andre was gutted but that was the way it was always going to be. Tori Vega was gone. Tori Hughes was here to stay.
"You alright?" Jade pulled him aside once they were out of the church.
"Yeah I'm cool." Andre shrugged. Jade tilted her head not quite believing him and stood on her tiptoes to give him a rare hug. Andre hugged her back, desperately needing whatever comfort he could get right now even if it was from Jade who he almost constantly bickered with and unfortunately had walked in on having sex at least twenty times. She drove him mad but he owed her for what she did in the church back then. Tori would never, ever have forgiven him if he'd objected on her wedding day. He had to get over it.
Should Andre have said something? Should Jade not have stopped him? Is this the end of Tandre...? let me know your thoughts. xxxx
