Chapter 10
Quinn slept in his arms the whole night. She rarely moved and when she did, he moved with her, just because he felt like he needed to. Her eyes were closed and her hair was lying so freely on his chest that it just made him fall even deeper in love with her. He knew how she felt towards him, he could feel it. He knew she loved him even though she denied it. In fact, she probably loved him even more than he loved her, if that was possible. He watched her as she slept. He woke up almost an hour before she did and he thought about getting up and making a nice breakfast for her, but he didn't want to wake her up; she just looked so peaceful, beautiful even. In that night, Quinn had given herself to him. It had felt so much different than the other times: she had slept over this time; she didn't say she hated him even once, and she actually let him hold her. That was the first time he had felt that close to her since Beth was born. As he was thinking about this, she started to move a little, only slightly, and he could tell she was about to wake up. Soon her eyes opened and she saw him.
He hoped that she wouldn't freak out and leave like she had so many times before after she got what she wanted. But something told him she wasn't done with him yet; and he was more than grateful for that. "Good morning," She whispered, a smile appearing on her face.
"Good morning," He agreed as she looked at him with kind eyes, something he barely remembered ever seeing from her, at least not with him. "I was going to make breakfast but I didn't want to wake you up."
"It's okay, I can help," She said, her voice still quiet. "How did you sleep?"
"I've never slept that amazing in my entire life," He smiled and cupped her cheek in his hand. She placed hers over it.
She nodded in agreement and glanced at the alarm clock on his nightstand, sighing a little. "Do you need to be somewhere?" He asked, knowing it couldn't last forever but wishing it could.
"No, it's just Rachel, she's probably wondering where I am," She grinned as she picked her phone off of the nightstand. "That's weird."
"What is it?" He asked, looking over her shoulder.
"She said 'Got in a fight with Finn, went home by myself. Hope you had a good night. XX Rachel'," She looked at the phone confused for a minute before setting it back down and looking back at Puck. "Where was Finn last night then?"
"I don't know but I would've heard him come home if he did," He shrugged. "Oh no."
"He wouldn't do that to Rachel, would he?" She asked. He shook his head.
"He'd never go through with it. But I saw Santana leave a few minutes before him last night. So where is he now?" He sighed.
"I don't know, maybe we should call," She suggested.
"Don't you want to pretend that you're not here or something like that again?" He asked.
"Hey, the fact is that I'm here. And I can't, more like won't, change that," She shrugged. "So let's call Finn."
He smiled when she said it and he finally admitted to himself that he probably wouldn't ever stop smiling if she kept looking at him like that. "Okay," He nodded and put on a pair of sweatpants from the drawer. She walked over to his closet and opened it, looking for something to wear. She grinned when she found a long t-shirt from when he and Finn taught a football camp for kids while she was pregnant. Puck had left the room and was starting to make eggs when Quinn walked into the kitchen. "You look adorable in that shirt," He chuckled.
"And you look hot in that shirt," She smiles as she walked over to him and put one of her hands on his bare shoulder.
"I'm not wearing a shirt," He said, raising an eyebrow.
"And yet you still look awesome," She smirked and kissed him. He reached his arms around her and held her close to him with his hands on her waist. She pushed herself up so she was sitting on the counter and wrapped her legs around him. They stood there with his body in between her legs as they kissed, completely forgetting he was cooking.
After a while of them making out in the kitchen, the door opened and Finn walked in. "Whoa…that is not what I was expecting to see when I came in here," Finn laughed, walking to the fridge and getting an apple out.
Quinn blushed a little and giggled as she got off the counter and stood up. "Did you sleep over?" Finn asked.
"That is none of your business," She rolled her eyes. "Where did you sleep?"
"And that, Miss Quinn Fabray, is none of your business," He chuckled and poured himself a glass of water. "But seriously, did you?"
She nodded and laughed a little. "Yeah, I did. Now where did you sleep, boyfriend of my best friend? And be careful what you say because I already know a lot."
He just shrugged and sat at the table, opening the newspaper. "A friend's house," He said, biting into his apple.
"What friend?" Quinn asked, starting to make coffee for her and Puck.
"Santana. Don't judge me, though, because it's not what you think. She was really upset and she ended up crying so she just needed a friend. Don't worry, I crashed on her couch and Britt was there, too," He explained. "And I don't know what's going on with Rachel and me because I texted her last night and she never texted me back. Have you heard from her?"
"She texted me last night when she got home but nothing since then," Quinn shrugged. "That's really weird."
"I'm gonna try calling her," Finn said, walking into the other room.
"So how long are you gonna stay today?" Puck asked as he poured Quinn a cup of coffee.
"Well there's no show tonight so I don't have any plans yet. What did you have in mind, Puckerman?" She smiled and sat at the table.
"I wanna take you somewhere. I know you'll love it," He grinned.
"And how do you know that?" She laughed a little.
"Because I know you better than anyone and I love you. I also know that you like the romance and I like to make you happy even though I know you don't appreciate it." He smiled and stood up to get the eggs off of the stove. "We got too distracted," He chuckled and held up a black egg.
"Aren't they supposed to be yellow?" She laughed and stood up to help him with the eggs. He picked them up with the spatula and gave them to Quinn so she threw them in the trash. She was turning around to walk back over to the table when they ran into each other and spilled the open carton of egg beaters all over each other.
"That did not just happen," Quinn shook her head as she tried to wipe the egg off of her hands and then turned on the sink to wash off the shirt. She smirked evilly before turning around with the sprayer part and sprayed him with it.
"Bad move, Quinn Fabray; it just got personal," He chuckled and grabbed the carton of milk, pouring half of it out on her before she pulled it away and poured it on him. He laughed and took a large container of pepper, throwing it at her.
"Oh my God, it burns!" She smiled and pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge, spinning around as it went all over the kitchen.
He laughed and stopped her, brushing her egg filled milky hair out of her face and smiling. "You look beautiful."
"Funny," Quinn rolled her eyes and put her hand on his cheek, smiling a little.
"What the hell happened in here?" Finn said, scared of the huge mess in the kitchen.
Quinn and Puck just looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"Whatever, Rachel didn't pick up, I'm gonna drive over there and see what's going on with her," Finn shrugged and grabbed his coat, walking out to his car.
"Well that was really fun," Quinn smiled, taking a little egg out of her hair. "This is gonna take at least five showers to get out."
"Can I join you for those?" He smirked.
She rolled her eyes and nodded, walking towards the bathroom.
Wow…that was so much fun to write that you wouldn't even believe it. I really loved writing the Quinn/Puck romance for once and I have a feeling there will be a lot more angst between the two of them coming up :) Please let me know what you thought in your reviews :D
