Chapter 10
Skate Me Away
ROSY'S POV.
I felt a little bad for just leaving Amy and Sonic there to deal with the fans themselves, but I knew that they would be okay.
Scourge and I were almost to our date spot. We were going to the Mobius Country Club Lanes. I had been there only once and it was because it was our Middle School Graduation party. It was great. They had everything. A bowling alley, a food court with food from all around the world, laser tag, a movie theater and even a skating rink. It was great and I really had been wanting to go back, but it was a little bit of a pretty penny.
We arrived at the country club, and as I got out of the car, I looked down at me outfit. I had on a pink, black and hot pink striped long sleeved shirt with black skinny jeans and black high-high top converse that went just below my knees and were on the outside of my jeans, and I had my hair in a low pony tail so that my quills would lay down.
Scourge walked next to me and spoke.
"You look great tonight." he whispered, sending shivers down my spine. I smiled with a blush, which thankfully wasn't easily seen, since it was nighttime.
"Thanks, you too." I said, casually, thankful that my voice didn't stutter. He smiled at me, it was nice and sweet. But the moment didn't last long, because the second we walked in we were bombarded by yelling fans.
I don't even know how it happened, but I was somehow pushed and landed on the floor, but not before I hit my head on the sign in desk, which, of course was made of marble.
I grasped my head and sucked in a sharp breath as I felt the pain come to my now throbbing head. I single tear dripped down my face. Just as it did, I heard Scourge.
"Rosy!" he yelled, he pushed through the fans and was at my side, along with a medic who worked at the club.
"Everyone back up, now!" the fans did as they were told and then stayed silent.
"Are you okay?" Scourge asked worried.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"If you want to go back home-" he started, but I cut him off.
"No, really, I'm okay."
The medic came over and started checking my head, hearing and sight. Then started to pack all his things. Once finished, he said,
"Nothing is wrong, she'll be fine. But she may have a bump on her head in the morning, but other than that, she should be fine."
"Thanks doc." Scourge said.
The doctor smiled and took his leave. After helping me up, Scourge faced the audience.
"Okay, look I want for everyone to just go on with there time here and please don't bother us. Now I will be willing to sign autographs, but in an orderly and civil way, any pushing and no one gets any autograph, and let us enjoy our date, got that!?" he asked everyone. They were all silent, but nodded.
And I'll admit it was kind of…sexy, seeing him take charge like that, but I wasn't going to admit that, at least not now.
A bunch of autographs, we were finally able to start our date. The first place we went to was the bowling alley. He would pick a place, then I would and so on. After switching out our shoes, we started a game, me against him. It wasn't long before we were in the last part of the game. It was my turn and I just needed one more strike to win.
I steadied myself, pulled my arm back and let go. It swerved to the left, then to the right…
STRIKE!
I had won! I won! I started jumping up and down excitedly and squealing. I turned back to Scourge. I stopped jumping, looked at the floor and blushed. He came over and hugged me.
"Congrats. You deserve a prize." he said, then handed me a miniature trophy, no bigger that a large cup, and it had a teddy bear it. How cute!
"Scourge, it's adorable! I love it!" I exclaimed, then hugged him.
"Glad you like it." he said blushing lightly.
I smiled at him, then he regained his composure and spoke.
"Well, now it's you're turn to decide what we do next." he said.
"Hmm…well, how about the ice rink. I know we already went to one recently, but I just love to skate on the ice. It makes me feel so alive and free." I said. "You probably think it's stupid or silly." I said.
"No I don't, it sound normal." he stated. I smiled at him.
"Okay then, let's go." I said, getting bold and grabbing his hand.
Of course, we were stormed by fans as we got our skates. And we had to wait fifteen minutes before we could actually get on the ice because of it.
Since it was an indoor skating rink, and they had to keep the inside cool, I thought it would get very cold in there. But I was wrong, they somehow managed to keep it warm and the ice frozen. It was so cool, no pun intended.
We began to skate around and they started to play songs from Frozen my new favorite Disney movie. Hey, it's awesome, what can I say. Amy loves it too. We both agreed that she would be more like Anna and I would be Elsa. We even memorized all the songs by heart. We downloaded them right after we saw the movie with the girls, and had them memorized three hours after we saw it.
I couldn't help but skate faster and since most people had left the rink to watch me and Scourge I could start doing spins, twist and spin leaps into the air. It was a good thing I had taken skating lessons with Amy, or may not have skated as well.
I began to sing with the music, with my voice loud and clear.
Let It Go
The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation, and it looks like
I'm the queen
The wind is howling the swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care
What their going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance
Make anything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong no rules for me
I'm free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand, and here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back; the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn.
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand, in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
Once the song ended, I had done one more spin into a leap in the air and landed. Everyone began to clap and cheer, and I saw Scourge look at me with admiration in his eyes along with a slight blush. I giggled, bowed then skated over to him.
He was speechless, which only made it cute. Finally he found his voice.
"You were amazing out there." he said, then actually picked me up and spun me around once. After he put me down I had a smirk with one eyebrow raised.
"S-sorry, it's just that, you were so great and everything-" he would have gone on if I hadn't interrupted him.
"It's fine, it was actually pretty sweet and a little cute." I said with a giggle making him blush again.
We did a few tricks and raced each other, he won, but I didn't care. After a while we got off the ice. We still had a lot more to do after all.
"Hey, I'm getting a hot chocolate before we get to the next thing, you want one?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure."
"Small marshmallows, cream and cinnamon right?" he asked.
He knew me so well. It was sweet.
"You know me so well Scourgey." I said, making him blush.
"I'm glad I know you that well." he said, this time making me blush.
"Thanks." I said, looking down sheepishly.
He smiled, then nodded as he headed to the hot chocolate stand a few feet away. He came back and handed me mine. We sat on a bench as we drank. We just talked, nothing in particular, but things on life, friends, family, just a lot of things. It was just nice and peaceful, like nothing could ruin the moment.
But then some guys started wolf whistling at me and winking. I could see that Scourge was getting really mad from all this, so I put a hand on his shoulder and he calmed a bit. But that calmness vanished when one of them came over to us. He stopped in front of me and eyed me. Scourge was lowly growling. But either the guy didn't care or hear, because he hadn't even glanced at him.
"Hey, sweet cheeks, wanna come and hang out with me and my friends."
"No thanks." I said.
"Aww, why not, we'd all have so much fun." he said. And I could hear his friends laugh from where they were. It didn't take a genius to know what he meant. So I said,
"Because I'm not for sale you ass whole." I said glaring.
His smirk seemed to go away. Then he glared, and that's when Scourge stepped in.
"Look leave her alone." he sneered.
"Who are you?" he asked with a bored expression. How did he not realize who this was!?
"Scourge the Hedgehog, from the band the Chaos Controls, and her boyfriend." he said.
My eyes snapped to him, I knew that he was only saying that so that these guys would get lost. But it felt nice inside that he said that. I smiled and blushed.
The other guy seemed a bit nervous after realizing who he was dealing with and began to apologize to Scourge and to me. He then begged for a signed cd and for another of Scourge's autographs, after that he left and was off and back to his friends and began to excitedly tell them who Scourge was. Four more signed autographs and cds later, they had left. Scourge sat down next to me.
"Hey, you alright?"
I nodded.
"Glad to hear." he said.
We looked into each other's eyes for a moment before we both turned away and blushed. Then we heard the DJ say,
"Alright all you people it's time for the couple skate, and it's our last activity for this session, so get out there."
I looked at Scourge and he looked at me. He took my hand in his and we headed back onto the ice. We skated slowly, but not to slow that we would be bumped into by other skaters. It was really romantic. He played three couple songs that related to us perfectly.
Then the couple skate ended and people started to return their skates. We did the same and decided walk back out into the main area of the country club.
"Hey, let's grab a bite before we continue." I suggested.
"You just read my mind." he said smirking.
We walked to a seventies style restaurant call Johnny Rocket. It was a great place and one of my favorite restaurants.
It didn't take them long to give us a table. We began to talk as we looked at the menus. Then a waiter came over to take our drink orders.
"I would like a coke." Scourge stated.
"And I'll have a Shirley Temple." I said.
"Alright, your drinks will be here soon." the waiter said.
"So, how's school?" he asked.
"Fine. Nothing to out of the ordinary…well, as of late I said with a giggle."
He smirked at me, making me blush more.
Pretty soon the brought our drink and asked for our orders.
"I'll have the cheese burger and a plate of fries." Scourge said. The waiter looked to me.
"I'll have the grilled cheese sandwich with fries as well."
The waiter was writing it down as Scourge spoke.
"Hey, can you make that a big plate of fries for us to share?" he asked.
"No problem. Your food will be done soon." the waiter said, then walked off.
Scourge and I began to talk more, about the upcoming tours and concerts that he and the band would be doing. Before we knew it, our food came.
"That was fast." Scourge said.
"Have you not read the reviews of this franchise?" I asked with a laugh.
"Well, the guys and I usually don't get time to stop and relax like this when we're touring. Or get to see family and friends as much in person. It's usually over Skype or we might see them if they're in the area with us. But even still with the hectic schedule and everything…" he trailed off.
"Sorry." I said, looking sympathetic.
"It's not your fault." he said looking at me.
"Well, still, I know what it's like to miss someone a lot." I said.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yeah, Amy and I both really miss our dad, along with our mom." I said sadly, keeping myself composed. It would always hurt to think about dad, "But my mom, sister and I would always get through and be there for each other." I explained.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. I didn't mean to bring that up." he said.
"No it's okay. I feel okay when I'm talking to you." I stated.
He blushed but said,
"Really? Thanks." I giggled at him.
We were eating our food and almost done, when we both reached for a final fry and our hands touched, we looked at each other for a moment, then both stood up and leaned to each other from our side of the table. We were inches away and I could feel his warm mint breath on my face.
But it didn't last long, because fan girl screams were coming from the outside of the private booth we were in. We quickly decided to leave and left our waiter a good tip. It had been a good date, even if part had been interrupted…
After a bunch of autographs, we were able to leave.
We had picked up Sonic and Amy and were on our way home, but Scourge and I weren't talking. But Amy was resting her head on Sonic's head. At least she had an entirely great date…
We got back in no time flat and were about to go inside, when Scourge pulled me back.
"Wait Rosy." he said.
Sonic and Amy took the hint and went inside while they waited for Scourge and I to be done so Scourge and Sonic could leave.
"Yeah?" I asked, once we were alone.
"Look about what happened at the restaurant…" he said.
"No, it's fine. Look, maybe we should just not talk about-" I would have gone on, but I was cut off by his lips on mine.
It was strong and rough, yet sweet and passionate. I gave in immediately as my eyes fluttered shut. My arms were around his neck and his were around my hips, with his thumbs gently rubbing circles on my hips. He began to slide his tongue into my mouth as his began to fight mine for dominance. As he kissed me, it pushed my head back a little bit, so I kissed back pushing him back. We just went back and forth pushing each others head back and forth in a fight for dominance as we also deepened the kiss by tightening our holds on each other with our arms. After at least a little over a minute we broke the kissed and panted for breath then smiled at each other.
Sonic came back and they headed to the car to leave. Before they did, Scourge, getting on one knee and holding out his arms, said,
"So…be my girlfriend Rosalinda Abigail Rose?" I laughed and took his hands, making him stand, then hugged him.
"Do you really need to ask that?" I asked him.
"I guess not. I really think that this can work. If Sonic and Amy can make it work, then why can't we?"
"Good point. Alright, you've got yourself a girlfriend. But just know, that breaking up is not an option, you're now officially stuck with me." I said smirking.
"That's fine with me, babe." he said, making me blush.
He pecked my lips, cheek and forehead, then spoke.
"Goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Night, I can't wait."
We kissed one more time, nice, gentle and sweet, then he and Sonic left after Sonic said goodbye to Amy. We went back into the house and agreed to tell each other the details the next morning with the other girls when they got here to hear about our dates.
I got under the covers, as I began drifting off into peaceful sleep. But before I completely succumbed to sleep I said three words,
"Best. Date. Ever." and soon I drifted off into sleep, dreaming about only Scourge and I…together.
