AUTHOR'S NOTES:

Homecoming

"So either the sexy blue dress or the proper black and gold one," I said as I flashed the two dresses at Caroline.

"The sexy blue one for sure," Caroline said with a chuckle.

"Are you sure? It does kind of show off a lot," I asked as I stared at the dazzling blue dress.

"Believe me it's the dress to go with," Caroline said before lying back on the bed. "So you promise to come help me and Tyler set up right?"

I was still gazing at the dress. Not sure it was proper to wear to a school dance. "I already promised Caroline. I'll be there."

"Good because we could use all the help,"

"Is Elena or Bonnie coming?" I asked.

"Well Bonnie's still upset over the whole Jeremy thing," Caroline start but I cut her off.

"Can I throttle that boy," I growled. I was not happy with what he did to her.

Don't I wish," Caroline said sternly before going on "Anyways, I asked Elena this morning about helping but she was busy doing something else," Caroline said with a shrug.

"Something else?" I questioned as I set the dress down on Caroline beds. "Did she say what?"

"No and I didn't ask. I have enough school problems right now. I don't need more supernatural drama to deal with next." Caroline said with a roll of her eyes.

"Yeah, we kind of have a lot of that don't we," I stated and then I felt my pants vibrate so I reached inside and pulled out my cell phone. The caller I.D read Elena. "Speaking of Elena this must be her calling to inform me of this said drama." I then walked out of the room as I answered.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Klaus is coming back," she bluntly said and I stopped walking.

"Wait, what!" I asked. The guy had been gone for a while now and it was nice not having him around so why is he returning.

"We conquered up a plan to get him to come back so we can stop him once and for all." Elena explained.

"Wait, you all are going to try and kill Klaus?" I asked.

"Basically, so you need to stay at the house tonight," Elena stated

"Oh no way, tonight is my last homecoming dance. I am not missing it for anything," I snapped." Klaus has ruined enough of my life. He is not ruining this part."

"Amelia please -"

"No, now if you'll excuse me. Caroline and I have some things to get done before the dancing tonight," and I hung up the phone.

"So you ready to go?" Caroline asked as she came into the hallway.

"Uh yeah, let's get going," and I turned and headed out the front door.

"Hey can you hand me the glitter gun," Caroline called as she sat the far side of the van with paint. Tyler finished up what he was doing before handing it to her. I watched from the other side of the van, my own plate of paint in my hand. I painted in some blue along the car.

"Quit hanging out with Rebekah, the evil blood slut," I heard Caroline say and this perked my interest. After my talk with Elena, I never brought it up that Klaus was coming back. I don't think she overheard because she didn't challenge me on it and I kind of blocked it from my mind, until now.

"What about Rebekah?" I asked as I looked over at them.

"Rebekah has been giving Tyler feeding advice," Caroline explained.

I turned my attention on Tyler, giving him a glare "Seriously Tyler!"

"She found ways for me to feed without worrying about compulsion," Tyler explained before pointing between the two of us. "Just keep your claws in tonight at the dance, both of you."

I rolled my eyes and set my plate of paint down. "Well you two keep talking away I'm going to head home and clean up for the dance," and I turned and started walking away.

"Wait, the dance isn't for a few more hours," Caroline called.

"I know but I'd like to take my time and relax for awhile," I gave her a wave over my shoulder and walked back to Elena's house.

As I neared Elena's house, a familiar blue car was parked in Elena's driveway and I stopped in my tracks. I was so not ready to face him but I knew exactly why he was here. I turned to walk away but a male voice stopped me.

"Where are you going?" came the voice I knew so well.

"Away from you Damon, cause I don't plan on listening to you or Elena," I grumbled and started walking away once more but ended up stopping in my tracks as Damon stood in front of me.

"You're not going to the dance tonight," He firmly said.

"I will not let him ruin anything more in my life Damon," I growled. "He killed my Mom, took me away and -" I stopped talking.

"And what?" Damon questioned.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath," Nothing," and I turned to walk back towards Elena's house.

"Fine if you won't listen than your going to the dance with Matt," Damon called.

I looked back at him. "Well that's a shock why Matt?"

"Because we kind of did something to his date so he's dateless," Damon said with a shrug." If he tries anything I'll kill him though."

I rolled my eyes but nodded and walked back into the house without answering him.

The night had come faster than I had expected and I was already making my way towards the dance with Matt.

"Can you believe that this is our last homecoming dance," I said to Matt.

"I don't think I've processes that it's senior year even," Matt said with a chuckle. "You know with all this supernatural drama always around."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, it is kind of a pain," I mumbled and that's when Matt pulled up to Tyler's house and parked. I climbed out of the car and shut the door. I could hear the music blaring and the laughter of the people.

"Ready," I turned to see Matt holding his arm out for me. I smiled at him as I slipped my arm between his and we walked towards the front door. As we entered my eyes narrowed in confusion at tall the people. I didn't know any of them. Yeah, I hadn't been at Mystic Fall for very long but I still recognized face and these faces I didn't know.

"So much for homecoming," I stated as we looked around and that's when I spotted Caroline walking towards us. I went to give her a smile but the look on her face wasn't good.

"Hey, Klaus is here?" She told us.

Even though Elena had given me the heads up earlier I still panicked at hearing that he was officially here. I glanced around the room just to make sure he wasn't around before turning back to Caroline.

"What?" Matt said with a confused face but not so convincing and I knew Elena told him what they were doing.

"Apparently are sired hybrid friend Tyler thought it would be ok to let his master throw a party," Caroline explained to us in one breath. She then took a few deep breaths as she looked at the two of us.

"Why I expected more surprise," Caroline stated as she looked at us. I guess I wasn't as freaked out on the outside like I was on the inside.

"I've learned not to be surprised by anything Klaus does," I said and glanced around quickly to avoid looking at her. "I'm going to go check out the party" and with that I hurried away. After leaving I realized that might not be a good idea just in case I ran into the psycho hybrid freak but it was too late to worry about that. I head out the back door, and towards the lawn. I snatched a beer off a table and took a sip as I headed down the stairs. My eyes wandered around the area, keeping a eye out for Klaus and I was having some good luck.

Someone than snatched my free hand, spinning me around until I face them. I looked at the person and froze instantly.

"Dance with me love," Klaus said as he held a smirk on his face.
