CH.9

~DAY 20~

The next morning found Lavi and Allen in the small village on their way to go and talk to the village chief to find if they could get some certain plants for healing. Lenalee and Kanda went to go and find the food and find wood and Krory went to try and trade some things with the villagers that they got on their last raid. As they walked past the little tents to the chiefs tents they saw children playing women cooking and men coming back from a hunt.

"It's peaceful here isn't it?" Lavi said, startling Allen a little who was thinking the same thing.

"Is it?" Allen asked

"Well from the towns I have seen this place is very peaceful."

"I guess you're right." Allen said as they arrived to the chiefs tent.

When they went in lavi called out to the chief. The chief was a man in his mid-thirties, he had Long black hair that went to his lower back. The front of his hair was slicked back and held with three long bird feathers. He wore a beaded necklace that had a bunch of birds back Skeleton. He had broad shoulders and tan skin, he was also very muscular. He had no shirt but had on long tan pants.

"Come in." he said in a very deep voice. He offered them a seat which they both took.

"What would you like to ask me." He said

"We were wondering if you have certain plants, we need them for medicine." Lavi said

"Could you please tell me there names?" the chief asked

"The first one is called Vana, it is a pink plant that looks like a weed. The second is called troy, it is a light yellow color that leaves are a dark shade of white it looks like vines. The last one is called Noise, it is a completely white plant that only grows in the light of a crescent moon. It is in the shape of an hour glass and there are belles that come out of the curve part on each side." Lavi said. The chief was silent for a while and when he spoke it startled the other two a little.

"There's a cave a little away from the beach and in that cave if you go far into it in the middle there should be a small field there that have all those and more plants. I can get someone to show you the place."

"Thank you that would be much appreciated!" Lavi said as he smiled. After that they got up to leave when Allen remember something, telling Lavi to go on ahead of him he went back into the chiefs tent.

Allen sat back down, and saw the chief was a little surprised.

"I would like to ask if you have seen someone." Allen said politely "Has anybody come to this island recently beside us?"

"We have had five people come. Could you describe who you are looking for?" the chief asked.

Allen nodded and said "He is a man that has a vibrant red color for his hair. He is about 195cm tall. He also wears a Opera style mask on the right side of his face. He also has wired-framed glasses." Allen said and he finished.

"Actually someone looking like that did come to this island but soon vanished soon after" the chief said after thinking. "If I remember correctly he went and talked with Yagi, our informant."

"Where does this Yagi person live?" Allen asked his face lighting up at the possible idea he could get a lead to lead him to his master.

"I'm sorry to say that one week after he spoke to that man he vanished." The chief said in a sad voice as Allen's face fell a little. Allen got up and thanked the man and walked out of the tent, he then went to find Lavi.

Lavi and Allen were following there guide to the cave the chief spoke of. They were all silent, Lavi was a little bit behind Allen and his eyes kept on going to Allen's butt. 'Focus, Lavi! you don't like him like that! Your not even Gay!' Lavi thought as he mentally slapped himself. He must have been making a funny face because next thing he knew Allen's face was right in front of his and they had stopped.

"Are you okay Lavi?" Allen said as he looked up at him. Lavi was frozen for a moment thinking 'He's so close! Lavi answer he asked you a question! Stop staring at his lips!'

"Just fine" he managed to croak out. Allen didn't look convinced but did step away and left it at that. They walked with the sea to the left of them and the rising moon. After ten minutes of walking they came across the cave the chief told them about. The caves mouth was 70 feet high and looked dark. After saying goodbye to their guide, they went inside.

Inside they found the ceiling shot up another 20 feet and had crystals on it. The deeper they went the brighter it got because of the crystals and minerals. They came to a small opening in the cave and went in. Once inside they were amazed. The ceiling was not there anymore and all they could see was the clear star and moon filled sky. The Milky Way was clearly showing. The room they entered was wide and spacious. Like the chief told them in the middle was a plot of plants.

"Okay let's try to find the plants!" Lavi said "I showed you the picture right?"

"Yes you did." Allen said. They both went to the patch and started looking. Lavi found about sixteen of the plant Vana and twelve of Troy. Allen found fourteen of Vana and twenty of Troy. In total they found thirty of Vana and thirty-two of Troy. Now all they had to do was wait for the moon to rise a little more and they could collect Noise. They sat side by side waiting in silence.

"Lavi…If you don't mind me asking…why do you wear that eye patch?" Allen asked softly not wanting to upset his friend. Allen noticed immediately Lavi stiffen.

"You don't have to tell me." Allen said quickly. Lavi was quiet for a few moments, he was fiddling with a piece of grass that was dying.

"Allen..How about we play a game? I'll ask a question and you answer it. Then you can ask me a question and I'll answer it. It has to all be truthful." Lavi said

"Sure." Allen said

"When were you born?" Lavi started

"December 25th" Allen said

"Wow, on Christmas?" Lavi said.

Allen nodded his head and asked his question "When's yours?"

"August 10th"

"Any hobbies?"

"Playing the Piano and sleeping" Allen said.

"How did you become a Pirate captain?"

"My father was just a regular pirate. My mother was actually a noble who was raped by my father. She had me, a bastard child, I was left in cave to die." Lavi said bitterly but continued on. "Bookman found me and brought me to Lead and Lead adopted me." Lavi said.

"So…You're a prince?" Allen asked

"If you must put it that way, yes." Lavi said

"Okay my turn" Lavi said.

"How did you get that scar on your eye?" Lavi asked cautiously, he didn't want to upset Allen. How odd.

"I fell into the ocean one day and a rock was there. My face got scrape." Allen said tensely.

"Allen…It is shaped like a pentacle.. I don't mean to pry, but there is no way rocks did that." Lavi said

"Please Lavi just leave it alone. I can only tell you about that much right now." Allen said softly.

"Okay." Lavi said but he didn't want to just leave it alone.

"How did you lose your eye?" Allen asked

"My father," Lavi said bitterly "found me one day and we got into a fight. I killed him but he stabbed me in my eye and know it's gone."

"Oh." Allen said, it was all he could say. Then there was silence, it wasn't uncomfortable but it wasn't comfortable either.

They sat in silence, the night air was still and cool. The moon would make its way over the cave in about two hours so they were just laid back in the grass. Lavi turned to Allen just as Allen turned to him, their faces only a foot apart. Perhaps it was the quiet and slightly romantic atmosphere or simply a whim but Lavi leaned forward so their faces were now only inches apart. Before either could close the distance an inhumane screech filled the air. Both Allen and Lavi got up so fast it looked like they had been stung. Another screech filled the air and so they both ran outside the cave.

Once they were there a dark shadow loomed over them and they looked up to see a giant beast fly over them. It flew towards the village and let out a roar. Lavi and Allen ran towards the village in they saw something they thought were extinct.

There were Dragons. About three of them and all were setting fire to the huts and village. They also saw wolves fighting the dragons, trying to get them away form the village. One dragon was a midnight blue color, it was kicked and they saw it was Lenalee. Kory and Kanda were taking on another dragon that was a bright shade of red. The other dragon the biggest, was a silver dragon and it was currently smashing the huts.

Allen and Lavi went to fight, Lavi going to help Lenalee and Allen to fight the silver dragon. Wolves were trying to bite the thing, but they had to worry about the tail that kept almost hitting them.

'Allen let me take over.' A voice said in his mind, it was Nea.

'I can do it, remember I have my guns!'Allen said back as he reach into his back pocket to pull them out.

'Allen, they are dragons!' Nea said back

'Yes I know, my gun is has dragon bullets. The bullets will be able to pierce the skin.' Allen said as he pulled out two revolvers. One was black and in white cursive it said 'Before' the other one was white with Black script on it that said 'Love'.

'Fine but be careful.' Nea said as he faded so he was just a tickle in Allen's mind. Allen dodged the tail and rolled behind a tree. He peaked out and when he saw an opening he ran from his cover. Lifting the white gun in his left hand he shot, the shot true to its mark hit the dragon's stomach. The silver dragon let out a screech in anguish. Allen brought up the black gun and took aim for the dragons head, he didn't want to kill it but he knew he had to.

So caught up in his shot he didn't see the blue dragons tail coming towards him. Two things happened at once. The first was Allen hearing Lenalee and Lavi call out his name. The second was he was knocked away by a body tackling him to the ground just as the tail went by him. A tail that would have hit him. Allen groaned as he lifted his head up. A hand was in his vision when he opened his eyes.

"Are you alright Shonen." A smooth voice said. Allen snapped his head up, only one person called him that.

Sure enough, a man stood there offering his hand to Allen. The man was about six feet two inches, with dark wavy hair. He had a mole under his eye and was slightly dark. He had a cigarette in his mouth and was slightly smirking.

"Tyki!" Allen yelled as a smile broke out onto his face.
