Chapter 9
'Wow look how many Pokemons are here…' Ash mumbled as the group stepped into a large clearing inside the Eterna Forest.
'Oh wow look over there a Starly! And a budew over there! OH I see a Buneary! I want it!' Dawn squealed as she pointed this way and that. 'Go Piplup! Take that Buneary down with Bubblebeam!' Dawn said as she threw up a pokeball.
'PIP!' the penguin pokemon squeaked proudly,
'Bubblebeam at Buneary before it gets away!' Dawn commanded, Piplup shot out a stream of bubbles which hit the wild Buneary.
'Bun? Buneary!' The wild rabbit-like pokemon screamed angrily and charged towards Piplup. Piplup jumped out of the way and waited for its trainer's next command.
'Peck!' Dawn said, Piplup extended its beak, and charged at its wild foe. Buneary held her arms up to protect herself but Piplup pecked it multiple times before the wild Buneary gave up and fell to the ground crying.
'Go Pokeball!' Dawn exclaimed as she threw an empty pokeball and the crying Buneary, 'Please work…' she prayed. The pokeball wobbled violently for a long time before staying still. Dawn leapt into the air with a cheer of joy.
'Nice one Dawn. Now it's my turn,' Ash said eyeing a Starly who perched peacefully on a tree. 'Go Turtwig!' The tiny leaf pokemon jumped out from its pokeball and stood in front of the raven hair trainer.
'Let's see the results of all that training from yesterday! Razor Leaf go!' Ash commanded, Turtwig swung out pieces of razor shape leaves at the Starly with deadly accuracy. As a result, the innocent looking Starly fell off its branch and growled at Turtwig. Suddenly, the Starly began to glow brightly and it grew larger.
'It evolved? What is it now?' Ash asked as he pulled out his Pokedex to examine the bigger bird.
'Staravia the Starling Pokemon, It flies around forests and fields in search of bug Pokemon. It stays within a huge flock.'
'Alright! Turtwig Razor Leaf one more time!' Ash grinned, Turtwig shot a few more leaves at the wild Staravia who flew up and dodged the leaves. The Staravia growled again before flying at the tiny leaf pokemon at a high speed.
'Dodge Turtwig!' Turtwig jumped out of the way of the Staravia's tackle attack. 'Now Razor Leaf it!' Turtwig performed Razor Leaf again, this time, the attack hit Staravia and drove it into a tree. Staravia had fainted.
'Go Pokeball!' Ash yelled as he threw a pokeball at the fainted Starling pokemon. Staravia didn't give much hesitation and quickly settled down.'
'Well done you two. Now why don't we get out of this forest before nightfall. I heard there's a Pokemon centre nearby.' Brock said, 'And where there is a Pokemon Centre, there will be a Nurse Joy waiting for me!'
The trainer and the coordinator looked helplessly at their breeder friend and sighed heavily. 'Is he always like this?' Dawn asked while Brock walked ahead of them,
'Unfortunately yes…Back when we were in Hoenn, May's brother Max always had to pull Brock away from beautiful women.' Ash said feeling slightly embarrassed,
'Well I'll try my best to take May's brother's place…'Dawn said as she scratched the top of her head. 'I can't believe I caught my first pokemon!' Dawn squealed childishly, 'Come on out Buneary' Dawn yelled as she threw out a pokeball, a little rabbit pokemon jumped out and looked around. It then started to cry.
'Oh no don't cry! Why are you crying?' Dawn asked caringly as she picked up her new Pokemon,
'I think it's still upset about Piplup pecking it before.' Ash guessed, Pikachu jumped over to Ash's other shoulder and offered its tail to the crying Buneary,
'Pika? Pika chuu!' Pikachu said, the Buneary stopped crying and looked at the yellow rodent. A blush appeared and its face. Pikachu quickly withdrew its tail and jumped back to Ash's other shoulder. The Buneary began to cry again.
'Hey Pikachu that wasn't very nice…' Ash said to the mouse pokemon,
'Pika…Pikachu…Pikachu kachu…' Pikachu said quietly,
'Really Piakchu? Eevee?' Ash grinned at Pikachu, then his face turned serious again, 'I order you to go back and cheer Buneary up. Besides, I'm sure Buneary doesn't feel that way about you.'
'Pika! Pikachuu…Pika Pikapi…' Pikachu pleaded,
'Now Pikachu…' Ash said sternly pointing towards the young crying rabbit pokemon in Dawn's arms. Pikachu mumbled something and offered its tail to Buneary again. The rabbit pokemon took the tail and began to play with it.
'Thanks Pikachu,' Dawn whispered to the less than happy rodent, who gave a grunt. Dawn then turned to Ash, 'What's up with Pikachu? he seems a bit upset…' Dawn whispered quietly.
'Chu…Pikachu pika' Pikachu said to Dawn, who blinked cluelessly at the mouse pokemon.
'Pikachu's just a little upset right now because he misses a friend.' Ash said to the coordinator.
'Oh…Okay…Well thanks anyway for cheering Buneary up Pikachu…' Dawn said to both Ash and a blushing Pikachu.
'Bun! Buneary!' Buneary said quietly, Pikachu jerked up at that and glared at the young rabbit pokemon,
'Pika..Pikachu pika…Pi pika!' Pikachu yelled, the little rabbit pokemon giggled. Pikachu's face grew hotter and hotter then he leapt off Ash's shoulder and ran towards Brock.
'Huh? What did you say Buneary?' Dawn looked at her newly caught pokemon.
'Buneary?' it said innocently,
'Well whatever it said, Pikachu got pretty embarrassed about it.' Ash commented, the yellow rodent had hopped onto Brock's shoulder and glared at Buneary. 'And angry too'
'Buneary you have to go an apologize for what you said to Pikachu. It's very rude to do this kind of thing.' Dawn said to Buneary, the coordinator ran towards Brock and Pikachu.
The trainer followed them slowly. A sudden movement in the trees caught his attention, Ash wanted to investigate, 'Hey you guys, go on ahead without me I need to check something out.' the trainer yelled as he walked off into the trees.
'Oh ahh!' a voice squeaked,
'That sounded like an Aipom,' Ash thought aloud, he looked around and sure enough, an Aipom sat on the branch of a tree. 'It was an Aipom!' Ash said as he walked up towards the pokemon, to his surprise, the long tail monkey jumped onto his shoulder. Ash examined the Aipom closely and gasped. 'YOU'RE MY AIPOM' he yelled.

Back in Johto, May and her Eevee have just arrived in Goldenrod City.
'The Pokemon should be just around the corner to us.' May said while studying her guidebook. Due to the huge size of the metropolis city, the map itself took up six pages in May's guidebook. The brunette coordinator and her Eevee made their way through swarms of busy looking business men and women and the phrase 'I'm sorry' had to be used countless of times as May bumped into someone.
When the coordinator and her pokemon have finally made it into the warm pokemon centre, they were out of breath. 'How can there be so many people in this modern dump…' May said quietly to herself. A Nurse Joy appeared from a room and walked towards May, 'Hello there traveller, would you like me to look after your pokemon and feed them?'
'You can feed them?' May asked, Nurse Joy nodded, 'yes please!' May reached for her pokeballs and handed them over to Nurse Joy. 'Oh Nurse Joy? Can I stay here for the night?'
'Of course you can,' Nurse Joy replied, the pokemon nurse pulled out a key from her pocket and handed it over to May, 'Your room is the eighth one on the right on the third floor. Unfortunately, the elevator's broken so I'm afraid you'll have to take the stairs.'
'S…stairs?' May stammered, 'I think I'll sit down for a little before I tackle the stairs.'
'Suit yourself, I'll be here if you need me.' Nurse Joy said while walking away with May's pokemon except Eevee.
'So my darling Eevee, ready to go for the stairs?' May asked the feline evolution pokemon. It nodded. 'Well then off we go!' May said with as much enthusiasm as she could summon, which wasn't much.
'Race you to the top!' May said to the feline pokemon, it cooed and leapt out of May's arms and ran up the stairs. May began to follow it but soon got tired after climbing about ten steps. When May finally finished the first set of stairs Eevee had already reached the top.
'Vee…eevee!' Eevee shouted to her trainer, the brunette looked up at the pokemon and pulled a face, Eevee laughed.
After about five minutes, the exhausted coordinator reached the third floor. She sat on the top of the staircase and looked down upon her achievement. 'I had to carry a backpack…so that wasn't fair' May said to her Eevee. Eevee grunted and tuck its tongue out at the brunette coordinator. They both laughed. May picked up her back pack and forced her two tired legs to move towards the brightly lit corridor. To May's relieve, her room wasn't at the end of the corridor. She fitted her key into the keyhole and turned it, the door swung open to reveal a huge luxurious room.
'Holy….' May mumbled as she marvelled at the sight before her. On the left-most wall was a 42 inch television, opposite that was a bed that was between the sizes of single and double. Next to the bed was a state of the art computer and phone. May also noticed a balcony from which you could see the entire city. 'This is so definitely worth all those steps…What do you think Eevee?'
'Vee… Eevee mumbled, equally surprised, before running off to the bed and jumped onto it. The little feline pokemon curled up on the comfortable pillow. May smiled at her Eevee and dropped her bags by the bed. She switched the television on and switched the channel until one about Pokemons came up.
'Stay here and watch TV for abit while I go and shower. Okay?' May asked her feline pokemon. It mumbled something that May took as a yes.

'So Eevee do you want to go out for dinner?' May asked the feline pokemon while wiping her hair dry with a towel. Eevee looked at her trainer and shook its head and turned its head back to the flashing television.
'Alright then, I'm going to give Ash a call, if you want to see Pikachu come over to us okay?' May said calmly, Eevee leapt off the bed and ran over to the phone. May fought back the urge to laugh and dialled Ash's number into the phone. Ash's face flashed into the screen.
'Oh hey May, We're in a bit of trouble here…' the raven hair trainer said quietly into the phone, May raised her eyebrows,
'Trouble? What's the matter?' the coordinator asked in a concerned voice,
Well…today Dawn caught a Buneary. The Buneary was really upset so Pikachu cheered it up. Now the Buneary's got a crush on Pikachu and won't stop blowing him kisses.' Ash explained, the trainer looked worn out. 'Pikachu keeping asking the Buneary to stop because he already has his eyes on some other pokemon but Buneary won't listen. Just a few minutes ago Pikachu actually grabbed his pokeball and jumped inside.'
'WHAT! Pikachu's in his pokeball?' May exclaimed, Pikachu hasn't been in his pokeball since…forever…was it really that bad?
'Vee…' Eevee said with a disappointed tone and dropped both of its ears. May looked at her pokemon with a concerned expression on her face. Eevee must be sad that Pikachu already has its eyes on some other pokemon…
'Yea, and the worst part is, he won't come out even if I throw the ball.' Ash sighed, 'I'm scared May, Pikachu's never been like this before. Even Buneary wants to apologize Pikachu but he just won't come out…What should I do?'
'Erm Ash…can you tell me who Pikachu has his eyes on?' May asked quietly so Eevee won't hear, 'Tell me quietly,'
'Well…I think I heard Eevee…' Ash whispered, May smiled,
'Now let's see how much he loves Eevee' May winked at the trainer, 'Bring Pikachu's ball close to the phone.' The coordinator bent down and scooped up Eevee,
'Now Eevee, why don't you have a chat with Pikachu,' May whispered into the feline pokemon's ear,
'Vee?' Eevee looked at her trainer and her face turned into a deep red colour,
'C'mon Eevee…Pikachu needs you right now…'May pleaded, Eevee looked at the pokeball on the screen and held her mouth close to the microphone and began talking. When it was finished, the pokeball shook violently and the yellow mouse pokemon appeared.
Dawn looked at the mouse pokemon and walked towards it with Buneary in her arms but Ash signalled for her to stop and for her to wait. Dawn stopped and walked back towards Brock.
'P..Pika?' Pikachu said into the phone, 'Pikachu pika…pi pika…pika…'
'Eevee…vee vee ee….'Eevee said calmly, Pikachu smiled and both pokemon blushed.
'You alright now buddy?' Ash asked Pikachu who looked up to its trainer, smiled and nodded.
'You'll make one helluva a mate Eevee,' May whispered into the feline pokemon's ears, causing Eevee to blush some more, 'I'm proud of you' Eevee buried herself into the coordinator's laps and cooed happily.
'Thanks May, you're a genius' Ash grinned at the coordinator who blushed and stroked its Eevee's head,
'Don't mention it Ash, just remember you owe me a favour,' May winked at the trainer,
'Anything for you,' Ash replied,
'I haven't got anything yet. But don't expect me to forget.' May said to Ash mischievously,
'Of course not…'
BTW do dreams count as shippy moments? cos if you want you can have loads of those...
