She was going to kill him, she really was. The way she was moving in the tight dress, the way her hips moved, had him thinking very inappropriate thoughts, ones he couldn't act on while surrounded by his friends.

They'd decided to go out for a drink since they'd been given the night off so Beckett, Castle, the boys, Lanie and Jenny were all out at a rather fancy club on their one night of freedom. And at first Castle had thought it was a good idea, a night to wind down and have fun with his friends but now he wasn't so sure. Not when Beckett was dancing like that and all he could do was watch. He couldn't meet her in the middle of the dance floor, pull her body close to his, their hips swaying in time to the music as he ran his hands up and down her sides, No, he had to sit here with Ryan and Esposito while the girls were all out dancing. He thinks the only reason the boys are still with him is because they didn't want to leave him alone and they didn't think Beckett would let him dance with her.

Just then Beckett looked up and caught his eye and then he knew, knew that the only reason she was dancing like this was because she knew what it would be doing to him. She kept watching him as his eyes slid up and down her body and the look on his face, that look made her wish they were alone and she could do all the things that he was obviously thinking about doing to her.

"Castle looks like he's ready to push you up against the nearest flat surface and do unspeakable things to you," Lanie said, eliciting a shocked laugh from Beckett

"Lanie!" exclaimed Beckett, making both Lanie and Jenny laugh. They were talking quite loudly to be heard over the music but they were far enough away from the boys that they had no chance of being overheard.

"You wore that tight dress for him, didn't you?" asked Lanie, earning a disapproving look from Beckett.

"Of course I didn't, I have a boyfriend, remember?" replied Beckett, still dancing but giving Lanie a look. Lanie was right of course, but she didn't need to know that.

Castle was relieved when they left the dance floor, heading back to the table they were sitting at. Castle was just about ready to grab Beckett and leave but she knew she wouldn't approve, she wouldn't want their friends to find out about their relationship like that. So Castle sat in silence, his eyes never leaving Beckett, as they made their way back to the table. He knew Ryan and Espo had seen him watching her but at this point he didn't have the energy to look away.

Turns out they'd become thirsty while dancing and came back to the table to get a drink so when Beckett offered to get the next round, Castle eagerly said he'd help. The only thing that stopped any of them from commenting on Castle's behaviour was the fact that Beckett had a boyfriend, they'd wait until Beckett wasn't around to question Castle about it though.

Once they were out of earshot of the rest of the group, Castle spoke, "You have no idea what seeing you dance like that does to me."

"You have no idea what seeing you look at me like that does to me," replied Beckett, grinning at the slightly shocked look on Castle's face before she turned to order their drinks.

"But we can't think about that right now," Beckett continued when she saw Castle glance down at her lips, knowing what would come next if she didn't put a stop to it.

"Can't think about what right now?" asked Lanie, hearing the end of their conversation as she walked up behind them.

"I..uh…nothing," replied Beckett, before shaking her head slightly and continuing, "I mean work, we can't think about work right now."

Lanie looked at her for a minute, trying to figure out what was going on with Beckett before she saw the bartender trying to get their attention, their drinks being ready.

"Come on, I'm thirsty," said Lanie, grabbing her drink. She was curious what Beckett was actually talking about because she knew it wasn't work but she was thirsty and wanted to dance more so she'd drop the subject, for now at least.

They danced more, and drunk more and they had a great time, a night off with friends being exactly what they all needed. But it was getting late and they were on call tomorrow so they said goodbye at a reasonable time, all going home to get some much needed sleep.

As soon as they left the club Castle and Beckett went straight back to Beckett's, in separate taxis of course. Beckett's place was closer which was the main reason they'd chosen to go their instead of the loft.

And then Castle got to do everything he'd been thinking about doing during the evening and more.

Beckett was woken by knocking at her door. She groaned and rolled over, wondering who'd be at her door at 9am on a Sunday morning. If it was a case the boys would've called so she had no idea who it could be.

She dragged herself out of bed, grabbing her shirt and a pair of pants off the floor as she went. She looked back at Castle sleeping in her bed and wondered how anyone could sleep through the knocking on the door. She smiled when she thought about being able to wake him up once she'd gotten rid of whoever was at the door and hopefully they'd repeat some of what occurred last night.

Beckett looked through the peephole in her door before opening it, better safe than sorry. She was surprised when she saw who was on the other side of her door.

"Ryan? Espo? What are you guys doing her?" Beckett asked once she'd opened the door. Why hadn't they called?

"We've got a case. We tried calling but it went straight to voicemail. We were going past yours so we thought we'd check and see if you're okay," answered Ryan, not noticing Beckett's nervous behaviour, Castle was asleep inside and she didn't want them knowing that.

"Thanks, I'm fine, I must've forgotten to charge my phone," replied Beckett. She'd been a little bit…preoccupied last night and must've forgotten to charge it. "You guys go ahead, I'll see you there."

"We can give you a ride, you left your car at the precinct last night, remember?" replied Esposito.

Dammit, she'd forgotten about that. She'd gone straight over to Lanie's after work yesterday to get ready to go out so she'd left her car at the precinct, planning to get a taxi into work this morning to get it.

She had to physically stop herself from glancing back at her room to where Castle was sleeping. Thank god none of his clothes were lying around her apartment actually. Last night they'd gone straight to her room, they'd been lucky to make it there, but at least the clothes had stayed on until they did.

"Just, give me a minute? I'll go change and then we can go," said Beckett, returning to her room when they agreed, leaving them waiting in her living room while she got dressed.

Beckett crawled back onto her bed, wishing the she could climb back under the covers and sleep next to Castle.

"Castle," she whispered, kissing him lightly to wake him up.

"Mmmm," Castle mumbled before groaning when she pulled away. He was about to speak when she put her fingers to his lips.

"Shhhh, Ryan and Espo are here," she whispered, and when Castle gave her a confused look she continued, "We've got a case, I wasn't answering my phone so they stopped by on their way to the crime scene. I've just got to get changed them I'm going to the crime scene with them."

"Don't go," Castle pleaded, already missing her warmth as she moved away to get dressed.

His eyes didn't leave her as she changed and she didn't bother going into the bathroom, didn't care if he saw her like this.

"Don't go," Castle whispered again but he knew she had to. He'd leave too, once she'd gone. He'd go back to his place and change before meeting them at the crime scene or precinct, with coffee for Beckett of course.

"I'm sorry babe, I have to," Beckett replied, still whispering so the boys wouldn't hear. She stood there, looking at him with his adorably messed up hair and no shirt and she made a decision. She walked over to the set of drawers beside her bed and pulled out something. Castle was curious now, sitting up to try and see if he could tell what she was now holding.

"Lock up when you leave?" she asked, holding out a key, the key to her front door. And from the look in her eyes she knew that it was more than just the key. She wasn't just giving him her spare key to lock up her apartment and then expecting him to give it back to her later. No, this was her giving him a key to her place, it was a step forward in their relationship, something to show how committed she was.

Castle didn't know what to say so he said nothing. Instead he grabbed her hand, the one that was outstretched holding the key and pulled her down onto the bed on top of him. Before she had a chance to react or push herself up again, he was kissing her.

He pulled away far too soon.

"I know, I'm sorry, you have to go," said Castle but he really didn't want her too. And from the look in her eyes she didn't want either.

"I've had that for a while, you know? I was just waiting for the right moment to give it to you," Beckett said, smiling at the look of complete happiness on Castle's face. She wanted him to feel comfortable here, like it was his home too. She thought that if (when) they did move in together, they'd move into his loft, but while she was still living on her own, she wanted to share her place with him too.

Before he could reply though, there came a shout from the other room.

"Beckett?" It was Ryan, they must both be getting impatient.

"Coming," she yelled back.

"Sorry, I really do need to go," said Beckett, pressing another quick kiss to Castle's lips.

"We'll pick this up later?" Castle asked, gesturing between the two of them as he did so.

"Later," she said smiling and then she was gone.

Castle couldn't keep the smile off his face as he held the key tightly in his hand. She'd just given him a key to her place and he couldn't have been happier as they took another step forward in their relationship.
