S10-9
Copygoat

It's been a few months since Frisk and Asriel got married, and they couldn't be happier about their lifestyle.
Living next-door to their parents was Frisk's idea.

On this day, Asriel was training in the skeleton family's backyard, with Gaster observing him. "Prince Asriel, it seems as if you are trying to reshape your powers by force. For your own safety, I would advise against it."
"Sorry, Gaster. I'm just trying to see if I can remake that hammer thing Michael made."
"He once said it was called the 'Hammer of Sol'. It's quite fascinating."
"'Hammer of Sol', huh? Intriguing."
"I can call him up and see if he's got time to help you with that."
"He's a busy guy. I don't want to interrupt his schedule."
"Neither would I."

After a few minutes of trying to copy that exploding hammer of flames, Asriel started losing his patience.
"Asriel, perhaps you can try a different ability." Gaster suggested.
"Like what?"
"As far as we know, the fire-based 'Supers' he has are the Hammer of Sol, Golden Gun, Radiance, Daybreak, Well of Radiance, Blade Barrage, and Burning Maul. Take your pick."
"How about the Daybreak?"
"To remake the Daybreak, surround one of your Chaos Sabers in fire, give yourself fire wings, and have your flaming sword launch out solar slashes that explode. I've been looking at their archives, so I know quite a few details."

Asriel summoned one of his Chaos Sabers, then surrounded it with his fire magic. Focusing on the details of the ability, Asriel formed angel wings made entirely of fire. He bolted into the air, letting loose flame waves that combusted the training dummies.
Eventually, he exhausted himself, his fire magic sputtering out as his Chaos Saber vanished. "How... How did I do?"
"Well done, young prince! You have performed the Daybreak exceptionally, but you must go home and rest, you pushed yourself too hard."

As soon as Asriel got back home, he was greeted by his wife. "Welcome home, Azzy! Hey... Tired out already?"
"Yeah. I just managed to replicate one of those Guardian abilities, and I pretty much ran myself dry. You can see the result in the skeleton family's backyard training course."
Frisk headed into the kitchen, then later came back out with a granola bar and a cup of orange juice.
Asriel sat down on the sofa, then started chowing down.

"So, what did you try copying?" Frisk wondered.
"Some flaming sword called the... uh... 'Daybreak'?"
"From what they've shared, that's for Warlock Guardians that are attuned to the Dawnblade sub-discipline."
"Dawnblade? Hmm. What else is there?" Asriel asked.
"Well, if they're attuned to Sunsinger, they use this ability called Radiance to pretty much return from the dead like a Phoenix."
"Wait... From the DEAD?! I don't think I can do that. Let's try something else."
"How about Hunters attuned to Gunslinger? Remember when those guys shared the schematic for that pistol, the Ace of Spades? Try remaking that out of your fire magic, but with three shots."
Asriel focused on what that pistol looked like, shaping his magic into a flaming replica. It felt warm and solid in his hand, as if the real thing was in his grasp. Just holding it didn't seem to drain him like that replicated Daybreak did, but he theorized that it was because he didn't use it yet.

Frisk placed an empty can on the coffee table, stepping back as Asriel aimed his copied Golden Gun at the cylinder. A single shot of pure fire magic was unleashed, leaving the can a smoldering mess of melted aluminum.
Both he and Frisk were in awe at what just happened.
Asriel released his grip, causing the weapon to dissipate immediately. "Whoa... That gave me quite the adrenaline rush!" He felt energetic and ready to go.

Later that day, Frisk and Asriel paid Undyne and Alphys a visit, and Undyne was the one to answer the door.
"Howdy, Undyne. Care to see a new trick?" Asriel asked.
"Sure, nerd! I could stand to see something new."
Asriel thrust his hand up into the air, summoning a Chaos Saber and surrounding it in his fire magic.
Undyne just stood there, her jaw hanging, and her face wearing an expression of pure shock and amazement. "That... was... fuuLIPPIN' AWESOME!"
"For my next trick, observe!" The flaming blade vanished, leaving Asriel's fire magic to take a solid form, leaving a fiery version of that shared pistol in his hand. Undyne was speechless!

Alphys came to the door to see what all the hubbub was about. "Prince Asriel? Y-you're... Are you copying those Guardian abilities?"
"Yeah! Undyne's gawking out about it."
"O-oh! Well, I can certainly see why, but isn't it harming you?" Alphys wondered.
"Harming me? No, it's not. Although, I did feel a bit drained after using that flame sword, but I got a rush of adrenaline after a single shot of that flaming pistol."
"Exhausted after the flaming sword... Energized after the fiery gun... Well, I'm not sure how it's not causing any negative side effects. I need to run a test. Come with me." Frisk and Asriel followed Alphys and Undyne in the house, finding themselves in a new lab area.

"I need to put you through a thorough analyzer. Lay here please." Alphys instructed.
Asriel laid down on a surface before it slid into a large cylindrical chamber. The machine activated, scanning Asriel for every single detail in his physical form and his magical integrity.
The other three were looking at a monitor, seeing the results. Everything, EVERYTHING, was highlighted in a positive green.
The surface slid out, allowing Asriel to stand back up. "Well? How's it looking?" He asked. Everyone gave him a thumbs-up.
As confirmation, Asriel looked at the screen. Full magical stability, and no negative effects on his health. He was given the all-clear.

As Frisk and Asriel were on their way back home, Asriel devised a theory as to why mimicking those fiery constructs and abilities didn't have ANY form of harmful side effects. "Fire is basically formless, right?" He asked.
"Yeah. Fire doesn't have any sort of physicality."
"What if I'm only giving my fire magic a form when I remake those weapons?"
"That would explain why it didn't have any effects on your health."
"Precisely. I wasn't trying to reshape my fire magic. It didn't even have a shape to begin with. So instead, I gave it one. I think I'll try again with that hammer next week."
"Why don't we wait on that? How would you feel about being a father?"
"You mean... You're..." Frisk simply nodded.

Well spoken, Asriel.
To forcibly reshape powers would harm you, but since fire is without shape, giving it a form is harmless.

In other news, Frisk is expecting a young one.

See you all next time, boys and girls.
