THIS STORY ISN'T DEAD! I know it's been just about FOREVER since I've updated-and I've been a Christmas break. :/ I should have taken that break time to write a bit more, but things have been out of whack for me. O.O" I actually just returned home from the hospital, (long story,) and I realized that it's been quite a while since I bothered to write anything. My latest story was a one-shot, (a rather puny one at that,) and I am SO SUPER SORRY that I hadn't been writing as much as I usually do. :/ School's getting on my nerves, too. Just yesterday I had to finish up an essay that I had to write in a TOTALLY different language. (It doesn't even have the same English alphabet! O.O Or any alphabet at all! If you can guess which language, here's a cookie! (::)) For those of you who happen to also be reading my crossover, 'Written in the Stars', I'm sorry for not updating THAT story, either. It's MUCH harder to write a crossover than I thought. O.O"

This chapter is a Luxoka and I'm sorry if Ahsoka seems a bit Out-of-Character, (also known as OOC,) but I just REALLY want to see Ahsoka do something TOTALLY OUT OF THE ORDINARY for once. I mean, yeah, she's different from most Jedi in the Order, (she left the Order, after all...*cries quietly*,) but if she did something TOTALLY NUTS out of annoyance and jealousy, well...you'll see. Please review! :) Reviews make the world go round!

Song 10. Better Than Revenge

Ahsoka Tano—

The story starts when it was warm and it was spring and I had it all, I had him right the where I wanted him.

I was sitting on top of a cliff; my legs dangling over the edge dangerously while watching Lux teach Steela for the fiftieth time in a row how to throw a stupid droid popper. My lips twisted into a small frown.

I knew that the trip to Onderon wouldn't be easy—seeing Lux after the entire Death Watch incident would be a bit painful, but I still felt so excited to see him again. Was that so wrong?

Even Master Skywalker was rather puzzled with my bright attitude—but it all changed the second I saw Lux beginning to talk to Steela Gerrera more than he would with me. Steela was the leader of this rebellion for Onderon and though I could admit that the young girl had strong tactics in battle, there was something about her that just didn't…feel right.

Unlike most strong leaders, she seemed oddly swayed by her emotions and that was the only path for downfall.

I picked up a small pebble and threw it at the ground with all my might over the chasm of the cliff. I could see it making its way down…down…down…and hit the bottom with a quiet yet satisfactory smacking sound.

Lux and I were so perfect together…or at least, that's what I thought. Though I would never admit it out loud, I felt attracted to Lux Bonteri the second I met him on Onderon all those days ago. It was difficult for me to believe that he was actually a supporter of the Separatists of all people—he was kind, gentle, patient…and not that bad looking, either.

Even now, out at training camps where Lux's face was smudged with dirt and grime, I never thought he had looked so handsome before. His hair had even grown out from the stiff, uptight do that he had once had when I met him to something that looked…not exactly soldier like, but his hair was almost…shaggy. Not in a bad, homeless-drunk sort of way, either.

It looked more…dangerous? I almost laughed out loud. Lux Bonteri wasn't even close to looking dangerous—no, he was safe and rather comfortable to be around.

She came along, got him alone and let's hear the applause. She took him faster than you can say sabotage!

Of course, not all love stories last very long—especially for someone such as me…a Jedi Padawan, who had vowed to keep herself from forming any attachments.

I shouldn't have been very surprised when I began to see the signs that Steela felt a very close connection with Lux. It was impossible to not admire his sweet disposition, or the determination in his voice whenever he carried out a speech, or even the smallest things in when he's trying to load a gun.

It wasn't that Steela had stolen Lux from me. After all, Lux and I didn't have much of anything with each other. There weren't any special dates, or romances, or late-night holo-pad calls.

My toes tingled in warmth as one memory floated back to me—the kiss on Carlac.

My shoulders sagged a bit. Lux probably doesn't think much of that kiss—it was just a kiss for survival and preventing ourselves from being caught by the Death Watch. I was…shocked with him at first, but I enjoyed it. Lux's lips were…smooth.

I guess I never saw it coming, wouldn't have suspected it. I underestimated just who I was dealing with!

I brought my legs to my chest. I didn't blame Steela for liking Lux—but what shocked me was that Lux might like Steela.

I wasn't blind to the way Lux would stare at Steela for minutes and minutes at a time whenever she did something oh-so-fascinating like shooting down a fake-droid.

I should have paid more attention to Steela's ways around Lux. I didn't think much of her at first—only saw her as another of those soldier girls who were only interested in the good of the world but now…now I see that there's something else that Steela wants.

And I do not like it.

One. Bit.

She had to know the pain was beating on me like a gun.

My teeth and hands clenched themselves as I heard Steela laugh, "Wow, Lux, you're good at this!"

"Thank you, Steela. You're not so bad, yourself." Lux replied sweetly and I felt the stripes on my lekkus darken in anger.

I stood up as I heard Steela utter another laugh and stormed over to the pair, forcing on a fake smile.

She underestimated just who she was stealing from.

I crossed my arms and scowled. Steela may be a rough-and-tough leader for the freedom fighters of Onderon, but if she thinks that she can underestimate my attitude, then she has something else coming for her.

But she's not a saint and she's not what you think, she's an actress, whoa! She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, whoa! Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground, won't make you any friends! She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind, there is nothing I do better than revenge!

"Steela, I think your brother needs help!" I shouted suddenly.

Steela looked over at me. "With what?" She asked.

"He's trying to figure out how to put his gun back together and he won't let anyone else teach him except for you," I replied smoothly.

Steela's eyebrow lifted to her hairline, debating whether I was telling the truth or not—after all, her older brother, Saw, didn't seem to be the type who would depend on his sister for help.

"Fine," Steela says and reluctantly put the droid popper on the ground. She turned to Lux with a smile and tells him, "I'll be right back."

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as Steela ran past me—for Force's sake, she was just going to 'check' her brother, not go away into battle.

"Hello, Lux." I say with a smile. "How are you?"

"I'm just fine, Ahsoka." Lux replied and straightened himself. "I'm glad you could stay around."

I couldn't help but to feel my heart beating faster. "Really?" I squeaked and then fought to retain my composure. "I mean, someone's got to help you guys."

Lux grinned. "And you think you fit the job perfectly?" He asked.

I shrugged, pretending to be modest. "Hmm…I guess so." I replied.

She looks at life like it's a party and she's on the list. She looks at me like I'm a trend and she's so over it.

"Lux, I'm back!" Steela says happily, jogging back. I muttered a quiet curse under my breath. Honestly, was she that quick? Or did she not check on Saw at all?

"It turns out that Saw was doing perfectly fine, Ahsoka." Steela tells me, crossing her arms.

"Oh, really? I thought for sure that he was calling you—never mind, then." I replied innocently.

"Or maybe he didn't call at all," Steela pointed out with a glare.

"Hm…maybe, maybe not." I said, allowing a bit of annoyance to color my voice and with a turn of my heel, I walked away.

I find her ever-present frown a little troubling; she thinks I'm psycho 'cause I like to rhyme her name with things.

"Steela…what rhymes with Steela?" I muttered angrily under my breath, kicking at the dirt. "Or at least some new nickname for her…bossy Steela? Annoying Steela? Clingy Steela?" My voice rose with every syllable I uttered and when I received confused looks from several of the freedom fighters, I forced myself to quiet down.

I could still feel Steela's glare at me and I shook it off. I was with Lux first, kriff it!

But she's not a saint and she's not what you think, she's an actress, whoa! She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, whoa! Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground, won't make you many friends. She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind, there is nothing I do better than revenge!

Another burst of laughter from Steela forced me to turn around and stare at the pair.

Lux had a wide smile and Steela gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

My lekku stripes grew darker than ever and I stormed over to them. My mind was racing and reeling and in a general statement, it was about to undergo…major combustion.

I guess I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey. You might have him but haven't you heard? I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey, you might have him but I always get the last word…

I walked right back to Steela and Lux and said, "Lux, come here for a minute, will you?"

Lux's eyebrow lifted but he shrugged, walking over to me. "Is something wrong?" He asked me.

"Oh, nothing's wrong. I just wanted to demonstrate something for Steela about what exactly happened on Carlac." I replied airily.

Lux's eyes widened a millimeter of an inch and he coughed into his fist. I could already detect a faint blush in his cheeks as he whispered, "I thought you didn't like it?"

"Oh, I didn't." I quickly lied and then smiled. "I'm just giving an example to show Steela over here," I gave her a nod, "how to react when something surprising and distracting comes her way."

Lux glanced between Steela and me, as though wondering if this was all a game or not.

Ooh, Lux was a bit smarter, then—he was being kept on his toes and he knew it. I smiled to myself and asked, "Do you want to start now?"

Lux swallowed and mumbled, "Yeah."

I smiled sweetly and Lux pressed his lips against mine the same way he had done on Carlac. Only, it wasn't exactly the wild dive that he forced upon himself when the Death Watch were entering the tent. He had his arms wrapped hesitantly around my back and I could feel Steela's eyes boring holes into my head.

Do you still feel like you know what you're doing? 'Cause I don't think you do, oh! Do you still feel like you know what you're doing? I don't think you do, don't think you do, let's hear the applause! Come on, show me how much better you are! See you deserve some applause! 'Cause you're so much better. She took him faster than you can say sabotage.

For a bit more fun, I kissed Lux back just as hard and placed a hand on his shoulder. He had his eyes closed—I could tell—and then I heard the sound of boots walking briskly away from us.

When we finally separated, Steela Gerrera was nowhere in sight.

I wonder why. I couldn't help but to giggle lightly into my palm and Lux turned around to look at me. "I don't think she took that well," he stated worriedly. "Do you think I should go after her?"

"Don't you always?" I asked teasingly. "Besides, it's your decision."

Lux paused and then he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. When he withdrew, he had a slightly smug smile on his face at my surprised expression.

"Oh, you know, I think she'll be fine. I'm going to get back to throwing the droid poppers." He says, his tone nonchalant. "Would you care to join me? I think your throwing skills are a bit rusty."

I rolled my eyes and followed him. "They are not rusty," I protested and then he placed a droid popper in my hand.

"But it wouldn't hurt for you to 'teach' me, either." I added with a smile.
