Lost and Found
Chapter 10
Leo pov
We all froze as Cammy slowly sits up, groaning weakly as he body trembles in protest. "Ugh, anybody gets the number of that truck tha-" She froze as she saw her own hand. "Wait...Am I seeing things?" She waves her hand in front of her, shaking it to make sure it was real. She looks over at us with those bright, chocolate brown eyes.
"Guys? You're not talking. Why are you not talking?!" She begins to panic and that snaps Don back to reality. "C-Calm down, Cammy. Deep Breaths, you don't need to hyperventilate right now! You're still recovering." She looks at him. "RECOVERING FROM WHAT?!"
Don opens his mouth to answer, then looks at us, desperate for help. We all look at each other, each hoping someone else would explain it. Finally, the responsibility fell on me as the leader of the group. "W-Well...Um..." She looks at me, confused and scared. "Y-You see...Someone...brought you back...We're not sure who, we didn't get a good look...But...They...changed you..." Donnie grabs a mirror, shakily offering it to her.
Cammy Pov
I slowly take the mirror, my heart pounding in my chest as I slowly look down and see a small, female turtle looking back. My eye color and face shape haven't really changed. My eyes were a bit wider, making me look more fragile and innocent, kinda like Mikey. "I-Is this me?" I ask, looking at the boys, who all refuse to look me in the eyes.
I bite my lip, tears filling my eyes. "Oh, my gods.." I whisper, trembling violently as I put the mirror down. "We're sorry, Cammy." Leo murmurs sadly. I shakily get to my feet, stumbling. Raph, who was closer to me, quickly catches me, supporting me. "Easy, kid. You're not used to walking around like this."
I was a few inches shorter than Mikey with a thin, feminine frame. "Well, at least I still look like a girl, right?" I ask jokingly. I could almost swear I saw the boys blush. "You hesitated." I add, laughing as the four ninja turtles trip over themselves to fix their 'mistake.'
I sit down, hugging myself tightly. "I-I can't believe this..." Leo sits by. "We'll find a way to reverse this. Right, Don?" Donnie stumbles over his words. "U-Uh, y-yeah! T-Totally!" He smiles sadly. "Thanks, guys..."
Night falls over the lair and I lie awake on my bed. I'd tried to keep a strong face around the boys, but now that I was alone, I silently sobbed. Needing air, I slip out of bed, heading out into the sewer. I walk along the edge of the walkway. I was so distracted, I didn't notice a rise in the sidewalk and yelp as I trip, falling into the water. I groan in annoyance and disgust. "Of freaking course!" I mutter, wading my way back towards the walkway.
A green hand reaches down and I look up to find Leo, smiling sadly. "You're not the first to trip on that spot, don't worry." I smile, reaching up to take his hand when the ground suddenly begins shaking, making me stumble and fall back with a grunt. The next thing I know, there is the roar of water quickly approaching. I look to the end of the tunnel, seeing a wall of water flying towards me.
Leo pales, reaching out to grab me and pull me back to the bank. I reach out to take his hand, then get slammed by the water.
Leo pov
I watch helplessly as the water slams into Cammy, carrying her limp form away from me and towards a gathering pool. I jump to my feet, running to catch up to Cammy, hoping to beat the water to the fall over the pool. I quickly come to a stop when I run out of the path to run on. I watch as Cammy falls towards the pool. Casting aside all regard for my own safety, I jump, diving after her. I catch up with her in mid-air and pull her close to me as I slam into the pool of water, taking the blow for her.
The impact stuns me a moment, but I regain my senses and swim up, dragging Cammy up with me. I broke the surface, gasping and coughing as I swim to the bank. I get up, pulling Cammy up as well. I notice that she's not breathing and panic, starting CPR. "Come on, Cammy. COME ON!" I cry, pumping her chest before locking my lips to hers, blowing air into her lungs.
She lurches, coughing up water as I back away. "Thank shell!" I cry, hugging her tightly. She shakily hugs me back, trembling. "H-Holy mother of gods." She whispers, trembling more as her grasp tightens around me. I gently scoop her up into my arms, heading back towards home as she clings to me. "It's gonna be okay," I assure, rubbing her back. "You're safe. It's okay."
