Now that the show is over, do people still read MBAV?

Here's a fun little note – ever since they've put it on Netflix, my nephew has become a fan. Literally, all he does is switch back and forth between MBAV and The Avenger cartoon series.

But anyway, you know how it goes. Here's an unedited update. Enjoy!

Two days have passed since the whole Jessie debacle. Ethan hadn't seen Sarah since he'd woken up, looked at him weirdly before fleeing the Weir household.

Grandma Weir had that all knowing smile that baffled him to this day, but walked him home once he was up to it.

Today was Monday, and as he stood at his locker, Ethan hoped that he'd catch a glimpse of Sarah today. The town had calmed down somewhat since she reemerged, and the city even reported on the local news of her safe return. Ethan heard through the grapevine (Rory) that she'd held up in her house all weekend with her family which was understandable – but at the same time, Ethan was dying to see her.

"Hey man," Benny shouldered up beside him, leaning back onto the locker. "How are you feeling?"

He could lie, but opted for the truth, "not so good?"

"This about Sarah?"

When was it not about Sarah?

"Don't think about it too much. She's here." The taller of the two smiled reassuringly. He saw a little earlier walking into the girl's room with Erica. The blonde vampire, just like Sarah's parents, were keeping her within arm's reach since her return.

"How is she?"

Benny shrugged, he hadn't talked to her since that night they all huddled around Ethan, anxiously waiting his recovery. Then, like the rest of the group (minus Grandma Weir – who just knew things for some reason) had been worried out of their minds. Sure they faced dangers on a daily bases going up against the supernatural but until that point, they all seemed to walk away unscathed.

Seeing his best friend laying there like that, kind of spooked him beyond measure.

"I'm sure, she's fine though."

"You think she wants to see me?" Ethan asked right as the bell rung.

Another shrug from Benny. He couldn't see why not.

The see-er and the wizard walked to class, steering their way in the mosh pit that was White Chapel High. What felt like a lifetime, but was merely a year, weighed down on the teenage boys. If only people knew of the ware and tare they had to put up with just to maintain a sense of normalcy in this town.

"Do you ever feel like this is too much for us to handle?" Benny suddenly questioned as he took his seat in the back of the room.

"What do you mean?'

"This," Benny motioned conspicuously to his surroundings, "all of this. Don't you ever think we're too young to deal with all of this added pressure?'

"All the time." Ethan shot back, never having to really think about it. I mean, he was only fifteen, and sometimes he thought back to simpler times before Sarah, when it was just he and Benny and sometimes Rory and wondered what life would've been like if he'd never embarrassed himself in front of her in the lunch room that day.

"Don't you ever wonder, what it could've been like to just be normal? I mean for crying out loud we're almost sixteen and to be honest with you, I don't even know what that means!" Benny exclaimed much to the displeasure of the other students filing in around him. He gave them a funny look back.

"Of course I do Benny." Ethan empathized, but he realized a long time ago, that he liked the way his life a made a change for the better, and not just in the form of Sarah, but his relationship with his family. His extended family with Benny and Grandma Weir but also his strong friendships with Erica and Rory. Sure life was, to put it in harsh terms, a shitbox, but at the same time he'd endured that "box" with the greatest people he knew. "But you know how the saying goes; 'with great power – comes great responsibly'."

The bell rang, followed by Benny's comment. "You don't always have to be so optimistic."

A smile cracked along Ethan's face. "Someone has to be."

"Are we going to talk about what happened?" Erica questioned. It was lunch time, and to Sarah's request they opted to skip the lunch room and instead found solace on the football field, sitting in the bleachers.

To Erica's defense, she had given her space in the questions department. Sure she spent the night with her the entire weekend since she turned home, but she let her cope silently and was just generally there. Whether it was to Erica's benefit or her own, Sarah wasn't sure – but it was nice to be surrounded by her best friends presence.

"What do you want to know?"

"Everything," she started then added, "from the beginning." So Sarah told her everything that she knew, and everything that she could piece together and understand from Grandma Weir's warped way of explaining how 'soul mates' worked for the supernatural.

"Wow."

"Yeah," Sarah sighed, before bringing the travel mug to her lips and taking a long pull. Apparently that day in the hallway, after she ran into Ethan, his body was going through a cycle of changing – normal for any young adult really, and while it would've been subtle any other time, the fact that he'd missed out on a shower right after putting his body through a workout had skyrocket his pheromones and like a dog in heat, Sarah had been unable to help her reaction. It was her body responding in the willingness to claim him. For each supernatural it's different, case in point vampires want the blood of their desired – to not only claim but to show their mark as well. It was weird, the way Grandma Weir explained it but that's what she gathered and with the help of the elder priestess and the willingness on Ethan's part, she managed to concoct a new formula sampling Ethan's blood as a base to help curb Sarah's cravings.

There were still some pains to push through, but at least her stomach wasn't eating her from the inside out anymore. At least for now.

"So what are you going to do? You have to tell Ethan."

Sarah sighed, covering her face with her hand. "It's going to be so awkward," she moaned. "How do you tell someone you're destined to be together by some outside fate?"

Erica, for all intense purpose tried to come up with a reply, but after a minute or two of dead silence she gave up with a shrug. "Although I don't think he would mind."

Everyone and their parents knew how Ethan felt about Sarah. Everyone except for Sarah of course.

"You should talk to him after school."

"You don't think it's too soon. I'm still trying to understand all of this and come to terms with it and you want me to tell him? Everything?"

"Well," Erica's mouth gaped like a fish, "He's – He's going to find out eventually. You mind as well get it over with."

"He's only fifteen." She was grasping at straws.

"So what! You're seventeen!"

"You don't think that's a little too soon to be saddled with a life partner? What if he doesn't want this – what if he wants to choose someone on his own? What if-"

"What if he doesn't want you?"

It was a thought in her mind. It was something she'd thought about all weekend, ever since the words left Grandma Weirs lips. What if Ethan did not want her? She felt what would be her heart flip over at the thought. Knowing what she knew now, and fully accepting it with her entire being – the thought of Ethan wanting no part of her felt like her world was crumbling down around her.

And it would be selfish to ask that of him, wouldn't it? How could she expect to give up his entire life just to be with her and make no mistake about it? He would be giving up everything. One tricky thing the earth priestess explained during their talk is that whenever a supernatural was due to be mated with a human; the human had to take the form of the supernatural for the task to be fully complete.

Not only would he be giving up his life – but his mortality as well.

Sarah knew that was too much to ask of one person and would ultimately be their deal breaker.

"Yeah."
