#Well, I'm back, finally, for a couple chapters anyways, school has really been kicking my ass. Luckily, I'm on break right now, so hooray for that. Anyways, Red went off onto alone, and in the middle of the night. normally, I would call him a dumbass, but seeing as how I myself made him do that, I fear it would backfire onto myself, which I am not cool with. How will Green react to this? What about the Team Rocket goons we all know are inside Mt. Moon for reasons they never fully elaborated on in the game other then saying "fossils"... which was a really stupid reason to be honest. "We're going to risk our lives searching a mountain at all hours of the day for some fossils that may or may not actually be here! Yay us!" I doubt any of them said anything like that.#
"He what?" Green shouted this at the nurse in charge of the Pokemon Center. "I told you, he left in the middle of the night, shortly after you had gone to sleep, the security cameras don't lie." The nurse was flustered, not used to someone yelling at her for something other than the failing health of their Pokemon. "Fucking idiot!" Green threw up her hands in exasperation, and was shaking her head. "You worried about him?" Sarah asked, having been sitting on the couch next to Ralts throughout this entire scene. "Of course I am, what kind of idiot climbs a mountain at night?" It probably wasn't a good idea for Green to ask this when Green, back when she was Shawn, had made Pokemon protagonists climb mountains at nighttime all the time. And let's not even mention the time when she had the emerald protagonist climb a active volcano at night. But that was that and this was this. Mountains are unpredictable. Red had to have been crazy. Of course, if he did make it out unscathed, Green would probably just end up idolizing him even more. After chewing him out of course.
"Alright, let's get climbing that mountain! We've got a idiot to find and some... Uh... Wait... What else?" Green had started to make a declaration of war, but something was tugging at the back of her mind. What else did she have to do up there? Fuck, she couldn't remember. Of course, her confusion only caused confusion in her teammates. "Are you alright Green?" Ralts asked, "What else would we have to do up there but find your friend and cross the mountain?" Green shook her head. "I dunno, I thought there was something but..." It was probably that dammed God's work again. If he was going to wipe her memory, he shouldn't have done such a half-assed job of it. Almost immediately after she thought that, a searing pain was inflicted upon her mind. Fucker obviously didn't like critizism. She was brought to her knees, and couldn't even think. After about a minute, her mental state returned to normal, and she got up... Only, she got up the wrong way? For some reason, even though she had fallen to her knees, and was face down, when she got up, she sat up from a laying down position. Apparently she had been moved to the couch Sarah and Ralts had been sitting on. She shook her head, and looked around, only to see that half the population of the Pokecenter was worriedly looking at her. Guess that's understandable. People don't exactly just drop to their knees in pain everyday of course.
Sarah and Ralts were the closest ones to her, and of course, there was also Nurse Joy, who was checking to see if she had a fever. "What happened there?" Sarah asked. "Oh, nothing important, just a... Minor disagreement." Green's responce was perhaps a little unusual if you didn't have inside knowledge on what was going on. Ralts shook his head, "You've been acting weird all day, do you have a cold or something?" Green shook her head, "No, I'm fine, really I am, stop worrying so much, it was just a passing headache, I swear. Look, it's not important,so instead of worrying over nothing, we should go out and find Red!" Now she was just getting exasperated. She was seriously feeling fine. "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her, at least, not that I can tell. If you want to go on that mountain, I won't stop you. In fact, you should try to cross it. The Nurse Joy in Cerulean City specializes in human patients, so she would probably be able to do a much better job at assessing you then I could. Plus, all of the strenuous activity involved in climbing a mountain would likely make the symptoms of whatever you may have, if you do have anything, flare up, and it'll be easy for her to identify."
Nurse Joy surprised the 3 of them by saying that, as the three companions were expecting her to insist that Green not go anywhere. She surprised them even more by openly wishing for Green to get worse. What the hell kind of irresponsible Nurse was she? Nevertheless, as freaked out by that as they all were, Green decided to side with the good nurse. "Well, the local doc said it was OK, so let's go!" And she ran out the door before she could be stopped by anyone with common sense. (so nurse joy can go sit in the corner over there and sulk to herself or something while we take a head count of everyone with common sense.) Ralts and Sarah collectively sighed, and followed her, silently agreeing with one another that they would try to at least make sure that Green didn't overdo it on that damn mountain.
The trio walked along the bottom of the mountain, eventually finding a cave that had a sign by the entrance saying that it led to Cerulean City and entered it. For whatever reason, it actually wasn't too dark inside the cave, it seemed that the mountain was pilfered with small holes that let in just enough light to see by. To be on the safe side though, Green had released Growlithe, and had the fire-type use a small ember move on some really big and thick sticks (the kind you get off a tree), so that they glowed brightly with a flame at one end, and even the opposing ends were rather warm to the touch.
Five steps. That was all it took. It took them five steps upon entering the tunnel they found to be assaulted. Assaulted... by a flock of zubats. (Are groups of bats called flocks?) They came down in waves, akin, in a certain manner, to the black rain of Ulqiorra's ressurection(if you know what I'm talking about, you rule, if you don't, go watch bleach. like, right now.), pelting the poor band of travelers with a barrage of wings and loud cries that were probably just normal echolocation, rather then their dreaded supersonic. All the same it didn't take long for Sarah to release her Deino, and Green to bring out Growlithe, and, together with Ralts, had them start using a dragon rage/ember/confusion combo attack, while the two girls started batting at the air with their arms, clipping the wings of many an unfortunate zubat.
About five minutes of this combined with some slow forward traveling led them to the top of a ladder that led to a lower area of the tunnel, the bottom of which seemed to be zubat-free. Jumping at the opprotunity to escape from their batly assailants, Green and Sarah all but slid down that ladder, Ralts grabbing onto Green's back while Growlithe and Dieno were recalled to their pokeballs. AND SWEET SALVATION WAS AT LAST ACHIEVED. The cloud of Zubats seemed content to stay at the the top of the ladder, not following them down to the lower area.
"That... sucked." Green coughed out the words, gasping for breath as she was. Ralts and Sarah were the same way, each out of breath, and more then a little banged up. "You're telling me," Sarah weezed, her right arm braced against the rock wall for support, while her left hung at her side, bleeding from a few small cuts, nothing serious, it seemed anyways, the same cuts were found on Green and Ralts, and probably Dieno and Growlithe too, if either trainer pulled them out to check. They would have stayed there for a longer period of time, to rest up a bit before heading onward, but luck was not on their side at that moment.
"Who the hell are you two?" An angry voice rang out from a little ways down the path. There stood a man dressed in black, with a big red "R" on his chest, who, after shouting out his question, began walking towards them. Green looked up at him, and recognized the uniform... somewhat. "You, You're from Team R...R...uhhhh... what team are you from again?" Green asked uncertainly, the name missing from her mind, but somehow, the visual image of it wasn't? Man, for a all-powerful god, he sure did a sloppy job of this. Glowering at nothing in particular, Green silently cursed that 2-bit memory job, and, at least knowing that the man before them was hostile, began to go for her Pokeballs. Meanwhile, Sarah, tilted her head in confusion, not understanding Green's hostility towards the man, who took the opportunity to introduce himself. "I'm Trayvon, from Team Rocket, and you better fucking remember that." He seemed angry at her not knowing the team's name. Then he said, "Now listen up, You two are headed to Cerulean right? how about we make a deal? The mountain can be pretty trecherous, so I'll provide you two bitches with safe passage to Cerulean. In return... You give me all your pokemon. Yea, thats a fair trade, especially when the alternative is I knock you both out, take your pokemon, and bring you to the other guys for them to use you two as they please." He wore a vile smirk on his face, presenting the two of them with a ultimatum that was a win-win solution, for him at least. Green, holding onto one of her pokeballs, gave her very intelligent and well-thought out reply. "Fuck you." And followed up by releasing the pokemon inside, Kakuna.
The man glared, and released his own pokemon. " Come out and smash them, Rattata, Zigzagoon, Bidoof, and Patrat! Punish them." While Sarah, understanding now Green's hostility, sent out Zorua, who came out looking like Kakuna. This of course led Trayvon to think that his Pokemon were fighting two Kakunas and a Ralts, who had jumped down beside the actual Kakuna. And now, they all stood unmoving, in a Mexican-standoff of sorts. Green breathed out slowly and said, "All right, here we go!"
#Yea, yea I did that to you. I see now why authors do it. Cliff hangers allow the author to put something out there for the audience to know that they ain't dead, but at the same time, give themselves a good foundation on which to start their next chapter. Plus, I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a little bit of sadistic pleasure from it as well, hehehe. anyways, As stated above, I'm on break for the next two weeks or so, So I've finally got free time with which to continue this fan fiction, something that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I can't promise that my activity won't take a nose dive after my breaks over, but I'll still try to get out 1-2 chapters a month. And again, in case I haven't mentioned it yet, I am very sorry for just disappearing without saying a word. I really am#
