A/N: I know I've been a terrible person and I'm so sorry, I truly am. I realized I'm having a writer's block. There hasn't been a day in which I haven't thought of how to overcome it and I guess I just couldn't run away from my problems anymore which is why I wrote this chapter. I will try to do my best but I also don't want to force it.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to this story, who took their time to read it and reviewed- you put a huge smile on my face every time I get a new mail!
Here's chapter 10- Enjoy it!
Nova.81: THANK YOU!

P.S: Rihanna's "Diamonds" is what helped me write this chapter. Don't ask why because frankly I don't even know myself! :P
Chapter 10: Diamonds
"Bye sweetie! We'll call you as soon as we land. Take care of Vegeta, order take out if you're out of food and don't forget to go to that orphanage. Those kids are counting on you!" said Mrs Briefs and without waiting for her daughter to acknowledge her, she shut the door after her.
The blue haired heiress rolled her eyes. Bulma's mother could be such an airhead at times but she was an amazing woman, wise beyond what people gave her credit for and a nurturing mother, which was why she kept going to different orphanages to take care of small children.
Ever since Bulma could remember, she and her mother would go to different orphanages to play with the children there, take care of them, buy them toys, clothes, food and everything they needed. What was Bulma's role in this? Her mother wanted her to become a socialite too.
She recalled her mother once saying that being a successful businesswoman was not a big deal if you didn't have a good heart and a humble nature to accompany it with. People would see what was on the inside, not outside.
The heiress never forgot that and as much of a lazy cat as she was sometimes, if there was something she looked forward to doing was taking care of orphaned children. Children had always given Bulma a sense of normalcy in her life. Being around aliens and monsters all the time was nerve straining and mentally exhausting. Kids were like a bright ray of sun, never missing a chance to light up a smile on everyone's face.
She briefly wondered if Vegeta thought the same too. She laughed at her thoughts as soon as they were formed. Vegeta? Pro kids? Yeah right!
But she could always ask him if he wanted to come. After all she could tinker with the GR and tell him it was broken. It was a white lie and she needed dates with the man she was sleeping with, not just a horizontal dance and that was it. Perhaps those children would make the Saiyan prince forget about that frown of his for a second…
"Woman! I order you to get your fat ass here this instant!" Vegeta yelled for the whole compound to hear. The blue haired, she devil was in her room and her balcony door was open so she could perfectly hear him. As expected, she came out, standing close to the rail, hands on her hips as her face showed pure anger. Good, that look on his woman's face turned him on.
Wait… his woman?
"What do you want, you oversized ape? I'm within hearing range I can hear you perfectly fine. Stop roaring."
"I expect you to fix my Gravity Room right now."
"It broke? I just fixed it two days ago. What happened?" she asked as confusion took over her features, while she was seriously considering what had happened to her dearest invention.
"It just shut down. Serves to prove your incompetency once again. You are clearly incapable of handling an invention as big as that."
"Was that a compliment? Oh thanks for the flattery Mr Big Bad Scary Prince of all Saiyans. I'll make sure to thank you properly when it gets dark and you decide to ignore what bites your ass during the day."
"You are pushing it."
Bulma smiled and winked at him as the prince rolled his eyes. They stayed like that for a bit, in a completely awkward silence till she broke it. "Well? Are you going to fly me down there or not?"
"Why should I?" replied the Saiyan, raising an eyebrow.
"Because you want to get back to training asap and it would take me a long time to walk downstairs and outside. I don't feel like walking fast today." Bulma said, yawning in the process.
Vegeta resisted the urge to blast her head off, first because he wanted to get back to training and second because he had needs to be tended to. He flew to her balcony and encircling her small waist with his arm he picked her up, flying down and setting her on her two feet on the soft grass.
"Thanks handsome." smiled the genius, giving him a peck on his lips.
Walking inside the GR, he watched as she sat on the floor, looking at the inside of the control panel.
"Well, looks like we need to replace a few wires, which I don't have at the moment. I will order them and they should be here by tomorrow afternoon, no problem." She said, getting up.
"Tomorrow?! I have to train! The Androids will be here in 2 years!"
"Oh hush, a day of beak from training isn't going to hurt. Plus…" she said walking up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and moving her lips to his ear "…If you take a break and come with me somewhere, I will make sure to make it worth your while when we get back." She whispered, moving her head back to lock eyes with him.
The prince was considering it. 'Good.' Thought Bulma to herself, resisting the urge to smirk.
"Hn. You better." Was all Vegeta said before he left the GR, heading to his room to take a shower.
"Bulma Briefs, I admire you!" was all the heiress said, closing the GR door after her.
"Where are we going?" Vegeta questioned as they stepped into her hover car, Bulma going to the driver's seat and the prince taking the passenger's seat.
Bulma sighed and dropped her hand from the ignition key. "Ever since I was young my mom and I would go to the orphanage to take care of the kids there. I wanted you to come with me. You're part of my life now whether you like it or not and I was always honest and open with those kids."
Vegeta raised an eyebrow at her as she started the hover car. "Why don't you just adopt one?"
She shook her head sighing. "I can't do that to them. I'd adopt one of them yes but what about the rest? I love them the same."
Her Saiyan lover didn't speak; just shrugged. She had a point. He could admit to himself he was curious to see the way she handled kids. Maybe there was a whole different side of her, although he highly doubted it. Vegeta knew she was a mother hen, worrying about the smallest of things. He knew she was going to be a good mother, if she ever became one.
She stopped the hover car in front of the orphanage and turned to Vegeta. "My mother founded this orphanage, they know about my weird social circle and have sworn to keep it a secret till their last days. Please, can you be nice just for a day?"
"I am being nice." Was all the prince said, raising an eyebrow. "I am here and not training. Is that not nice enough for you woman?"
Bulma took his hand in hers, unlinking it from the cross he had made in front of his chest which no longer surprised her. He wasn't Vegeta without doing that.
"Yes, thank you. But what I mean is that if the kids ask you to show them something special, give them something worth remembering, just like you did for me on New Year's Eve. And if they ask tell them to ask me."
Vegeta rolled his eyes one more time then without saying another word got out of the car, walking towards the orphanage. The heiress sighed, silently praying for it to go well…
"It's Miss Bulma!" exclaimed a little girl at the sight of the blue haired scientist as a bunch of kids ran to her, hugging her as much and tightly as they could.
Bulma smiled gleefully as the kids surrounded her, each trying to meet the heiress as she hugged and kissed them all. She got up after she was done, caught Vegeta's hand- catching him by surprise as he didn't resist her hold- and dragged him next to her.
"This is my friend Vegeta. I told him to be a nice guy today, though I can't promise anything." She said, whispering the last part, earning a growl from Vegeta and laughter from the kids.
"Don't worry mister Vegeta." Said the girl who had spotted Bulma first "Miss Bulma said she likes bad boys and you're waaaaay better than her last clown."
"Oh really?" said Vegeta smirking, sitting down to the little girl's level. "Tell me more about him…"
"Ugh!" said Bulma rolling her eyes, but playfully as she eyed Vegeta having a normal conversation with yet another human being.
A few hours later afternoon found Bulma and Vegeta still spending time with the kids. The little guys had somehow managed to convince Vegeta to release a few ki blasts for their entertainment, making up a pretty convincing story on how they had invented something at Capsule Corp that could release ki blasts and that Vegeta was trying it out.
Everyone was outside but one little girl, Maddie. She had always been a loner, distancing herself from most kids her age. The story behind her being left as an orphan was a sad one. While the rest of the kids had grown up there without knowing who their parents were, Maddie was a different case. Her unlucky mother had been poor and pregnant back when she was very young and as soon as Maddie had been born she had left her newborn daughter to an orphanage, saying that she would come back to get her when she had enough to provide a normal living for both.
For the next 5 years Maddie had frequent visits from her mom, knowing the full story and being extremely eager to finally have a life with said mother. Then one day the unthinkable had happened- the woman had been on her way to the orphanage, to tell Maddie the happy news that she had found a place to live and the job she had, paid her enough to raise her little girl. And on her way to the orphanage, the woman had suffered a heart attack, killing her instantly. Now, 3 years later, the event still affected little Maddie and Bulma was the only one who she was sort of close to.
As Bulma thought of Maddie's life's past events, she combed the little girls blonde, soft locks which was waist length and extremely straight.
"How about I braid your hair?" she asked, knowing full well the little girl wasn't very talkative.
Maddie shrugged and Bulma took this as her sign to go on with the braid. Bulma started out with a tuft of hair near the girl's ears, wanting to make Maddie a side braided crown.
"Where did you meet him?"
Bulma raised her eyes to the mirror to meet Maddie's blue-gray eyes, smiling softly. "We met through mutual friends. He's a training freak, you know. I'm the only one who can provide him the means for his extreme training."
"That's a lie."
Bulma raised an eyebrow and stopped braiding. "Oh, really? And how would you know?" she asked the girl with a curious tone, but not an ounce of malice intended.
"I saw him. Him and the bald, giant guy. They were dressed differently and he had a weird thing on his eye. I was the only one watching TV that day, the other guys were playing outside. I was down with the flu."
Bulma's heart stopped beating as she tried to block panic from showing. "Sweetie, I think you're confusing him with someone else. I mean, he's my boyfriend and I think I know his friends. He has no bald friends."
Maddie left it at that as Bulma kept braiding her hair. When she was done, she combed the rest of the girl's hair down her back, grabbed a few tiny flowers from the closest vase and started to put them in a scattered mode in Maddie's braid. The girl was truly beautiful and it was a pity she had closed herself up in her own shell. If anyone were to adopt her, they would be the happiest parents on Earth.
"There you go, you look like a princess." Bulma said smiling brightly, earning one of Maddie's rare gorgeous smiles.
"Thank you." She said inspecting her braid, then surprising the heiress with a hug. "I love it! And don't worry; this will be our little secret, as long as you promise to always braid my hair like this."
Bulma's eyes filled with tears, heart clenching for this little girl with so much love to give but with no one at the receiving end. "I promise sweetie." She replied, hugging the little girl back, kissing the top of her head in the process.
Evening found Bulma and Vegeta on the couch, eating take out after coming home from the orphanage. The heiress had been pretty silent the whole way back which hadn't gone unnoticed by the prince but he had not said anything about it. A silent Bulma was not a normal Bulma though and Bulma not being her usually talkative cheery self was something that affected everyone around her, the prince of all Saiyans too apparently.
"Will you tell me what the hell has been bothering you?"
Bulma turned her eyes to Vegeta, eyeing him carefully then sighed, placing her own food on her lap. "Maddie."
"Who the fuck is that?"
Bulma rolled her eyes at Vegeta's words. "The girl whose hair I braded today while you were hanging out with the other kids. She… she recognized you from a footage of the day you and Nappa arrived here. She even remembered him."
The prince raised an eyebrow. "And this is bothering you why exactly?"
Bulma sighed and rested her head on the couch. "It's not bothering me, more like what would happen if she said this to anyone?"
"Simple, they wouldn't believe her. Only you are dumb enough to actually believe in extraterrestrial life on this planet."
"Dumb? Oh honey, I'm actually smart enough to do so. If I didn't believe in a bunch of aliens roaming around the universe we wouldn't be having this conversation right now."
"Whatever, point is that no one will believe her. I do not think she is going to tell anyone for that matter. She seemed secretive enough."
"I know, but still-"
She was silenced as full lips were crushed against hers.
"You talk too much." Said Vegeta as the heiress eagerly closed the gap between them once again, wrapping her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. He moved the food to the table and pushed the blue haired beauty down on the couch, positioning himself between her legs, moving his lips to her neck as she tried to remove his shirt. He pulled back and helped her, dropping his pants in the process too. After the prince undressed the heiress, he stared at Bulma's naked body, having so much to say about the perfection it was but not being able to voice his appreciation.
He kissed her again, then her neck, her breasts and her flat belly, making her shiver as he moved his lips between her legs, kissing her thighs and she buckled as his lips were on her lower regions. His tongue played with her folds pinning her hips down as she moved, silently loving the reaction he got out of her. Bulma tugged on his hair harder and he stopped, positioning his member in front of her entrance and with one swift motion, he thrust into her.
His movements were slow and deep, at a pace that was driving Bulma insane. She enjoyed how deep it was yes, but sex in slow motion was never her favorite. And as if he had read the woman's mind, Vegeta changed the pace from slow to inhumanly fast.
They rocked together, she moving her hips to meet his and he going hard and fast on her, the way he now knew she liked it. He had come to read her body language like an open book, he was a pro at knowing what she wanted long before she made it known. Her moans grew louder till she dug her nails in his back and let out a loud cry, him coming a few seconds after her. He fell on top of Bulma, trying to catch his breath, the heiress' heart beating fast from mixed emotions- fatigue from the activity they just engaged in, love for the man, happiness- and he smirked, knowing that her hoarse voice and out-of-breath state were because of him. She moved her fingers in his hair, massaging his scalp and the two lovers, tangled limbs and everything, fell in a peaceful sleep.
A/N: I wanted to say something, before some of you start saying how Vegeta is completely OOC in this chapter (hopefully none of you will.)- I don't think he is OOC. Let me explain that.
Bulma fell irrevocably and unconditionally in love with him, hence the story's title. In order for her to do so, she must have seen some redeeming qualities in our favorite prince. I totally believe that theory and this is my version of events.
Thank you all for reading this.
