January 15
Club Cruz
Extremely nervous that he would be killed for being in possession of Sergeant Stetler's phone, Dan Cooper silently entered the club and was surprised to see both Bernard and Clavo, who was sporting a bandage on one foot, seated at a table near the bar, "Mister Cruz?" Dan asked in a nervous voice.
"Bernard, this is Dan Cooper," Clavo stated cooly. "Dan Cooper, this is my boss, Bernard Marquez."
Dan nodded, but didn't shake Bernard's hand, "You said you found Rick Stetler's phone in the trash?" Clavo asked in a cool voice. "Bernard needs a favor, but he has health issues and is in need of help."
"What's the favor?" Dan asked in a curious voice, wondering why Stetler was in league with these men.
Bernard smirked, "My friend, Edward Addison, is in jail and there is also a very bad man there named Raymond Caine," he explained calmly. "I would like it if Ray was stopped from being able to escape and since Lieutenant Horatio Caine is his brother, the chances of Raymond Caine escaping are very high."
"You mean you want me to kill Lieutenant Caine's brother?" Dan asked anxiously, his eyes widening.
Bernard nodded, "Raymond is a drug addict and a criminal," he replied coldly. "I hate criminals."
"Why haven't you gone to the police about Ray?" Dan asked in a confused voice. "They would..."
Clavo scoffed, "Lieutenant Caine won't go against his own brother," he replied in an irritated voice.
"So the police want Ray dead, but they won't do it because of Lieutenant Caine?" Dan asked quizzically.
Bernard nodded, "You've got it," he replied calmly. "The police would be very happy if you killed him."
"I'm an AV tech in the lab!" Dan replied anxiously. "I can't even get anywhere near any weapons!"
Bernard looked to Clavo and Clavo pulled a gun out from under the table, "Here," Clavo said calmly.
"As for getting down to the cells, just say you are doing functional tests on the security cameras," Bernard said in a smooth voice, smirking at Dan. "You're an AV tech, so they will think it normal."
Swallowing hard, Dan took the gun from Clavo and put it into his jacket pocket, "It should be reasonably easy to find Ray, but don't focus on rescuing Edward until after you kill Ray," Bernard instructed sternly, giving Dan a serious look. "Call us on Sergeant Stetler's cell phone when you've finished the job."
Nodding mutely, Dan silently left the club before he could protest and realized that he had no choice but to do what had been ordered of him. He had to do something that would cause great harm to others.
"It doesn't fit," John muttered, glaring at himself in the mirror as he tried to adjust the tie that came with the suit that he had put on for the day's interview with the police about Doc. "I've lost weight."
David raised an eyebrow as he lounged on the bed wearing jeans and a hoodie, "Mom and Dad are gonna worry if your suit is too loose," he replied softly. "You gotta tell em that you've got nerves..."
"After I talk about Doc today, maybe they'll let us go home," John replied softly. "I hate it here."
David nodded and John sighed as there was a knock at the door, "John, David, time to come down for breakfast," Bosco's voice called out from the hallway. "Your mom wants us to have breakfast together."
Exchanging a look, John and David left the bedroom and went downstairs to the kitchen where Danielle was setting the table where Sully, Bobby, BJ, Adam, and Ellie were all sitting, "I decided to take over the kitchen this morning," Danielle said in an energized voice as she walked over to the stove where several pans were sizzling. "I'm honestly looking forward to the spa today and I wanted to make you all happy."
John silently took a seat and smiled as he saw that his breakfast had already been laid out and he could eat everything on the plate if he wished, "You look really nice, John," Ellie spoke up softly. "Like Daddy."
Danielle smiled at the fact that both Bosco and John were in suits while her father was wearing slacks and a dress shirt, "Grandpa, are we gonna hang out with Detective Salas and her son?" David asked.
"Yeah," Sully replied calmly. "I'm not sure what we're going to do, but they'll be coming over here."
John silently ate and watched as Bobby stood up, "I've invited Rick and his son over for a visit and I was hoping, David, that you and Ellie could try to be friends with Lenny since he really doesn't have any," Bobby said in a kind voice. "I know you and Ellie are very kind and Lenny's just getting used to things."
"How come Sergeant Stetler never had a son before?" David asked softly. "I've never seen one."
There was a silence and Rick suddenly stepped into the kitchen with a protective arm around Lenny, who had gotten a haircut and some clothes that fit, "It's very complicated to explain, David, but I am very happy he's back in my life," he explained calmly. "Do you mind that we're a little early, Robert?"
"No, Rick, it's fine," Bobby said in a patient voice. "Do you want me to make you some coffee?"
Lenny eyed the crowded table and looked anxiously at Rick, "Go sit at the table and I'll get you some cereal," Rick said in a calm voice, not wanting to burden Danielle since she was already cooking.
Nodding silently, Lenny wandered over to the table and sat at the end of the table closest to Sully, but he didn't say anything to anyone, "Do you want me to teach you how to play Nintendo, Lenny?" David asked, eager to make a new friend while they were in Miami. "BJ and Adam have a really nice one."
Lenny nodded, but didn't say anything, "Lenny's very shy," Rick explained calmly, sighing as Danielle looked at him and pointed to the pan with her spatula. "Oh, Miss Sullivan, I couldn't impose..."
"Mrs. Boscorelli," Danielle replied in a gentle voice, wondering if Rick was feeling all right that day.
Rick blinked and nodded, "I should have remembered that," he replied softly. "My apologies."
"Have some coffee, Rick," Bobby said calmly as he pressed a warm mug into Rick's hands.
Nodding, Rick silently sat at the counter and nursed the cup of coffee, silently watching as Lenny silently got an apple from the fruit bowl in the middle of the table and slowly ate it, "Danielle, have a seat and I'll serve up the food," Bosco said as he stood up, eager to help Danielle take it easy that day.
"How do I look?" Ryan asked softly as he entered the sitting room where Emily was sitting in a chair.
Emily smiled as she looked over Ryan's slacks, shoes, and dress shirt that took attention away from the cast still on Ryan's wrist and the fading bruises on his face, "You look good," she replied with a smile.
"Thanks," Ryan replied anxiously. "I'm a little nervous, but I need to get back to the lab and do what I can even with this cast on. I know Rosa and Anthony don't mind me staying here, but I just want..."
Emily nodded, "You like your independence," she finished gently. "I can understand that."
"I just don't want to be a burden on the Speedles," Ryan replied softly. "I don't know them well."
Compassion filled Emily's eyes and she nodded, "Speed's brother is receiving continued treatment and his parents are stressed about it, so I don't want to be one more thing for them to worry about," Ryan explained softly, his smile fading. "I just want to be back in the lab and I didn't mind doing nights..."
"Just try today and see how you feel," Emily replied in a gentle, but firm voice. "One day at a time."
Before Ryan could reply, there was a knock at the door and the sound of energetic footsteps coming down the hallway, "Oh, Marisol must be at the door and James and Julliet must be awake," Emily said in a tired voice, making no effort to get up because she felt overtired. "Ryan, could you please let her in?"
"Sure," Ryan replied, quickly making his way to the door and opening it, revealing a cheerful looking Marisol, who was wearing a sundress and sandals. "Hey there, Marisol. Emily's just in the living room."
Marisol nodded and silently entered the house, "Mommy's going to a spa with Auntie Marisol today, but you're going to spend the day with your Grandma Rosa and your Grandpa Anthony will join you when he gets back from his errands," Emily said in a soothing voice, gently caressing both James and Julliet.
"We should get going," Marisol said softly. "Danielle's probably waiting for us to come get her."
Emily nodded and stood up, "Anthony said he'd give me a ride to work when he came back, so I'll stay with James and Julliet until then," Ryan offered, taking a seat on the couch. "Have a relaxing day."
"Bye Ryan," Marisol said in a gentle voice, smiling at Ryan as she and Emily left the quiet house.
Miami-Dade Crime Lab
"Emily Wolfe wasn't called to this meeting?" Grissom asked in a concerned voice as he and Warrick entered the room where John would be interviewed and saw Horatio and Callieigh setting things up.
Horatio frowned, "Emily Wolfe currently has breast cancer," he replied in a concerned voice.
"Don't you think I know that?" Grissom asked coldly. "Emily doesn't keep secrets from the organization, but she did ask to be involved in this interview. I doubt John will even talk unless Miss Wolfe is here."
Calleigh gave Horatio a look and Horatio sighed, "Miss Wolfe was going to a spa with Danielle Boscorelli and Marisol today," he explained in a concerned voice. "My concern was that the cancer was wearing..."
"Part of the agreement for doing this interview was that John's counselor be in attendance, Horatio," Grissom replied in an annoyed voice. "I'm not going to allow it to happen if Emily isn't called here."
Horatio scoffed, but he reluctantly reached for his cell-phone, "I'll call her," he replied stiffly.
"Thank you," Grissom replied stiffly, unimpressed with Horatio's attempt to exclude Emily Wolfe.
"Can I help you?" a uniformed officer asked Dan Cooper as he came into the area where the many holding cells were with equipment that would be used to check cameras. "Are you authorized?"
Determined to do what Clavo asked of him and be calm so he wouldn't get busted, Dan nodded and showed his badge, "I'm here to check if the security cameras work properly," he explained calmly.
"Go ahead," the officer replied calmly, nodding at Dan as he silently entered the large cellblock.
Dan nodded and pushed his equipment cart into the cells and over to the camera that was closest to the areas where Edward Addison and Ray Caine were being held. He pretended like he was working on a camera until the officer was out of sight and then he sauntered over to the cell that Edward was in.
"You come to get me out?" Edward asked gruffly as he stared through the door at Dan. "Well?"
Dan was quiet for a moment and suddenly spotted a man in a cell not too far from Edward's, "Don't tell me you're here for him," Edward hissed in an annoyed voice. "Ray Caine's nothing but a drug addict."
"I was told to kill Ray," Dan replied softly, flinching as Edward rose. "You look upset about that."
Edward scoffed, "I got my own people to kill," he hissed. "Did Bernard tell you to get me out?"
"Some guy named Clavo said to," Dan replied in a frightened voice. "Who exactly is Bernard?"
Edward chuckled and pointed a finger out the door towards a cell in the corner, "Ray's over there, but I don't know if he's awake," he grunted in a dark voice. "I suggest you make a decision and get on with it."
Swallowing hard, Dan removed the gun from his pocket and sighing, he prepared to start his work.
Tired and aggravated that she had no clue how to get a hold of Emily or Ryan, Sarah found herself walking the Miami streets to give herself a break from the hotel. The sight of palm trees and oceanic landscape were of little comfort, as she was so angry at the mistakes she had raised for years.
Mansions came into view and that was when Sarah realized that she had walked further than she had thought or truly intended to. Slowing her step, Sarah frowned as she saw Sully and Rick suddenly emerge from one of the houses and walk over to a dark car that Sarah assumed belonged to Rick.
Fury filled Sarah's heart and she rushed down the street at breakneck speed, ramming Rick and Sully so fiercely that both men fell over. She quickly grabbed Rick's keys and gun and ran over to his car.
"HEY!" Rick shouted angrily as Sarah got in the car, locked the doors, and drove off at a high speed.
Sully frowned as he helped Rick up, "Was that Sarah Wolfe?" he asked in a very concerned voice.
"I have no idea, but she got my gun too," Rick growled angrily. "I was headed out to the gym."
Sully sighed, "Come back inside and we'll phone the PD," he said in a calming, but distressed voice. "Bobby and the kids are playing in the basement , so I doubt they'll notice us much."
Deeply shaken, Rick nodded and scowled as he followed Sully back into the house, frowning when he saw Bobby on the phone looking very concerned, "...The PD's on lockdown," he whispered, holding a hand over the phone. "I'm on the phone with Uncle Horatio right now and he said something..."
Screeching filled the air as the car suddenly came speeding back the way it came, "Bobby, go hide in the basement with the kids!" Rick yelled as he ran outside and saw that Sarah had gotten out of the car, but wasn't coming closer to the house, but instead was standing there with a gun in her pale hands.
"It's your fault!" Sarah screamed anxiously, aiming the gun at Rick. "You wrecked my family!"
Swallowing hard, Rick raised his hands and did his best to block the open doorway from view, "After I kill you, I'm going to find Emily and kill both her and Ryan!" Sarah shouted anxiously. "You've earned this!"
A door opened and a shot was suddenly fired out of nowhere, "Stop," Natalia said in a strict voice as she came out of the house next door wearing a sundress and sandals with a gun in one hand and a bright gold badge in the other. "In the name of Victims Assistance, I order to you put the gun down."
"Ryan?" Sarah asked as she suddenly caught sight of Bobby ushering Adam, BJ, Lenny, Ellie, and David, up the stairs and frowned at David's blondish hair. "Ryan, sweetie, Mommy's right here!"
Bobby, however, shoved all of the children up the stairs and out of sight, "You," Sarah hissed as she pointed the gun at Rick. "You are going to take me to the police and tell them all why you did it!"
Sully's eyes widened in shock as Rick slammed the door, "Natalia, back off!" Rick shouted, keeping his hands in the air as he walked over to Sarah. "I'll come as long as we leave right now with no issue."
"Get behind the wheel!" Sarah roared anxiously, glaring as people moved past the upstairs window.
From the window, Sully watched anxiously as Rick walked towards the car with Sarah following while pointing the gun at him, "Grandpa, why was that lady calling me Ryan?" David asked in a scared voice.
"David, you should be in your room," Sully instructed as he pulled out the gun that he had been given.
David, however, inched close to the window and was horrified when Sarah fired at the window, engulfing both him and his grandfather in glass, "Sully, David!" Bobby yelled from down the hallway.
Miami-Dade Crime Lab
Loud alarms blared and John frowned as Horatio and Calliegh hurried out of the room with the guns drawn, leaving him and Bosco with Grissom, "What's going on?" Bosco asked in a worried voice.
"Horatio said there was a disturbance in the holding cells," Grissom replied in a tone of unbelief.
John sighed wearily, "I just want to go home to New York already," he said in a distressed voice.
Suddenly, the elevator door opened and anxious that trouble had made their way up to the lab area, Grissom poked his head out and was surprised to see an anxious Ryan shepherding Emily and an anxious looking Danielle down the hallway, "The officers said there was a shooting down in the holding cells," Danielle spoke breathlessly as she hugged Bosco and John. "We came by because Emily was called..."
"A shooting in the holding cells?" Ryan asked in a concerned voice. "I saw Cooper go down there..."
Danielle paled, "So is Edward," she replied in an anxious voice. "Who is this Cooper fellow?"
"Dan Cooper's an AV Tech with the Crime Lab," Emily replied softly. "Why was he down there?"
Shots could suddenly be heard in the direction of the stairwells, "Get on the floor and keep quiet," Grissom instructed, frowning when he heard footsteps and more gunfire. "What is happening?"
Danielle quickly grabbed John and ushered him over to a far corner of the room, holding him close as they got on the floor, "Shh," she whispered softly, frowning as Emily took a gun out of her pocket and stepped out of the room with a determined look on her face. "Edward's not going to get you."
"Take another step, Caine, and this little blonde chick gets it!" Edward's voice suddenly rang out.
John frowned, "Miss Wolfe?" he asked in an anxious voice. "Mom, Edward's got Miss Wolfe..."
Ryan swore and took off down the hall, "Get that worthless brat of mine," Edward called out. "Dan Cooper told me that he was coming here for an interview about killing Stewart Otis after we had fun..."
There was a heavy silence and rattled, John began to cry just as shots rang out and the glass around the interview room shattered, sending bullets and glass everywhere. John tried to stand to protect his mother better, but he felt a bullet graze his ribs and found himself falling to the floor very quickly.
"NO!" Danielle screamed, quickly covering John with her body as more gunfire filled the air.
Bosco swore just as Horatio and Calliegh came around the corner with their guns out, "We've got officers covering Cooper and Edward," Horatio explained anxiously. "Is anyone injured here?"
Another three shots rang out, "EMILY!" Ryan's scream filled the hallway. "Edward, you stupid son of..."
Horatio frowned, "Calliegh, secure the scene," he ordered as he ran back down the hallway.
The sight of Dan Cooper laying on the floor injured and surrounded by officers while Ryan stood over Edward's lifeless body with his gun aimed at the man unnerved Horatio. What alarmed him, however, was the sight of Emily leaning against the wall with a hand on her bleeding chest as she watched Ryan.
"Tend to my sister," Ryan barked in a cold voice. "I made sure John's dad got what he deserved."
Deeply alarmed, Horatio quickly got his cell-phone out of his pocket to contact emergency services and wandered over to the window. His concern deepened as he noticed a car careening down the road towards the lot at breakneck speed and another car in the lot that had Eric and Marisol in it.
"Papa Tim, can we read?" James asked as he toddled over to Tim, who had stopped by his parents' place for a quick visit before he was due to report to work, with a book in his hand. "Julie's playing in her kitchen."
Tim nodded and pulled both James and the book on to his lap, smiling as James began to read to him and ignoring the ringing phone. Fortunately for him, Rosa answered the phone in the kitchen.
After a few moments, Rosa came into the living room looking rather shaken, "Tim, there's been trouble at the police department," she explained in an anxious voice, eyeing James and Julliet as they played.
"Trouble?" Tim asked softly as James suddenly looked up from his book. "What happened?"
Rosa frowned and sat down on the couch, "A shooting," she replied shakily. "A really bad one."
Horror filled Tim's soul as he listened to his mother explain what she had heard from the caller.
"What's happening?" Eric asked, watching as Grissom and Bosco ushered Danielle and a visibly injured John outside while Ryan helped Emily, who had a hand over her bleeding chest, outside to a safe area.
As Horatio came outside to greet Eric and turn the handcuffed Dan Cooper over to a group of waiting officers, he frowned at the strange car because it had stopped, "That's Stetler's car," Bosco observed, recognizing the car from when Stetler dropped Lenny off that morning. "Stetler's not driving..."
"Mom?" Ryan and Emily spoke at the same time as an infuriated Sarah climbed out of the car with Stetler's gun still in her hands and pointed it at the car that Eric and Marisol were standing near.
Sarah cocked her gun and scared for her friend, Emily broke away from Ryan and tore towards Sarah with one hand on her chest, "Mother, stop it," Emily commanded anxiously. "Don't do this."
"I am not your mother, you horrible brat!" Sarah screeched, pointing the gun at Emily. "Die!"
Eric drew his gun and was about to fire when gunfire erupted and Sarah suddenly fell over, clutching her shoulder, "Wolfe!" he said anxiously when he noticed Ryan had fired a shot at Sarah. "Wow."
"Emily, you're bleeding," Marisol said in an anxious voice as she got out of the car and hurried to Emily.
Emily nodded as she clutched her chest, "The breast area," she spoke softly. "Not the heart."
Loud ambulance sirens filled the air, "Eric, I need you to go upstairs and help Calliegh secure the scene where the initial shootings took place," Horatio ordered briskly as he walked over to Eric. "Edward Addison is dead and Dan Cooper is under arrest for breaking him out of the cell block."
"Horatio, I also saw your brother down there," Dan called out as he was led away. "Raymond's his name, isn't it?."
Dread filled Horatio and he quickly put his sunglasses on to hide the anguish in his eyes, but his cell-phone suddenly went off before he could do anything, "Caine," he said, quickly answering the phone.
There was silence and Horatio frowned as he heard the caller talk about the attack that Sarah had launched on Bobby's house before coming to the MDPD in Stetler's car, "What?" Horatio asked as he looked towards Danielle and Bosco, horrified that the news would affect them greatly. "How?"
Miami-Dade University Hospital
"John, wait!" John heard his mother call out anxiously as he hurried through the hallways towards the room where David was being treated for injuries. "Maurice, Dad, I can't keep up with him!"
Ignoring the pain in his ribs, John burst into the room where David was being treated by many medical staff including Dr. Loman. To John's horror, David was unconscious, had cuts on his face and forehead, and had a bandage around his arm that was stained with blood and also around his chest, which had tubes sticking out of it, "David," John whispered anxiously, tears rolling down his face as he planted himself in a chair next to David's bed and rested his head on the gurney. "This is my fault..."
"What happened, Sully?" Bosco asked in a concerned voice as he came over to Sully, who was waiting near the door. "Bobby said that Miss Wolfe's mother attacked the house and shot at you and David."
Sully sighed warily, "Sarah Wolfe has been mentally ill for years," he replied softly. "I can't..."
Bosco frowned, "Emily Wolfe was shot protecting people," he commented. "At the MDPD."
"Crap," Sully replied warily, frowning as he saw several medics rush off down the hallway with an injured Emily on a gurney while Ryan lingered by a vending machine looking uncomfortable. "What happened?"
A throat cleared, "Edward Addison shot Emily Wolfe at the MDPD and also caused injury to John by shooting at the interview room," Horatio explained in a dark voice as he came into view. "Ryan Wolfe shot Edward Addison to protect his sister. When the PD was being evacuated so the scene could be processed, Sarah Wolfe arrived in Sergeant Stetler's car and tried to shoot Marisol Delko. Emily Wolfe got between Sarah and Marisol and pleaded with Sarah not to do this, but she was undeterred. Eric was going to shoot, but Mister Wolfe shot Sarah in the shoulder without hesitation, incapacitating her."
Sully's eyes went wide as he looked at Ryan, who looked subdued, "You idiot!" a voice suddenly spoke.
"Tommy," Sully said in an anxious voice as Tom stormed towards Ryan with fire in his eyes. "Just..."
Tommy, however, roared and launched himself at Ryan, sending them both to the floor, "Whoa!" Bosco shouted as he ran over to the wrestling brothers and quickly pulled Tom off of Ryan. "Stop it!"
"He shot our mother!" Tommy roared struggling against Bosco's grip. "Why would you do that?!"
Sully scowled and Horatio looked stunned as Tommy pulled away and stormed off towards the admit desk, "It'll be investigated by IAB," a voice said in a calm voice. "It's important for everyone to keep calm."
"Speed?" Horatio asked questioningly as Tim entered the ER looking upset. "Did someone call you?"
Tim nodded, "I came by on my way to the lab," he replied calmly. "Horatio, how's Emily?"
"She's been taken to surgery, Speed," Horatio replied softly. "There were two attacks."
Tim frowned as his gaze travelled to the Sullivan-Boscorellis, "Bobby's back at the house with Stetler, Lenny, Ellie, BJ, and Adam," Sully explained in an anxious voice. "Natalia's helping them stay calm."
"Maurice, stay with John and David," Danielle said in an angry voice. "Lieutenant Caine, a word?"
Horatio frowned and was about to speak, but Danielle raised her hand to shut him up, "Not a word," she snapped in a voice that warned Horatio not to mess with her. "Why don't we take a walk, Lieutenant?"
As Horatio and Danielle walked off down the hallway to talk, Tim silently left the way he had come.
"Edward Addison is dead?" Eric asked in a shocked voice as he came off the elevator and saw Calliegh processing the scene with gloved hands while Alexx and several other coroners loaded Edward Addison's body on to a gurney. "I had heard he was killed in the chaos up here, but I wasn't sure if it..."
Calliegh sighed and bagged some bullets after taking photos of their positions, "I heard there was also an attack at Detective Caine's house and it was by the same person," she replied in a somber voice.
Eric frowned, "What?" he asked in a concerned voice. "Is that how Stetler's car got over here?"
"Horatio explained it when John was being taken to the hospital," Callieigh replied, knowing that Eric wasn't paying attention because he had been making sure Marisol was okay. "Sarah Wolfe somehow got a gun and ended up in Detective Caine's neighborhood. After hijacking Stetler's car and returning to the scene, she thought David Sullivan-Boscorelli was someone she knew and took shots at the window..."
Alexx sighed as she looked at them, "That call I got a few minutes ago was from John Sullivan Senior and David Sullivan broke a few ribs when he fell after being shot in the shoulder," she explained in a solemn voice. "Two ribs punctured David's lungs and he'll be in hospital for a little while. John Sullivan got shot, but the bullet grazed his ribs and broke four. That's all Sully was able to tell me before he had to go."
There was a silence as Jessop suddenly came off the elevator looking alarmed, "Um, Delko, Duquesne, there's a bit of a problem down in the cells," he explained in a shaky voice. "I do patrol down there from time to time to help with bills and when I got there today, I found a dead body in one of the cells..."
"A dead body?" Alexx asked in a concerned voice, giving Jessop a look. "Was there another shooting?"
Jessop looked alarmed, but shook his head, "Is that what all that damage was?" he asked worriedly.
"Who was down there?" Eric asked, trying to stay on topic. "If it's connect to what happened earlier..."
Jessop shrugged, "Some guy named Grissom's looking at the body," he replied. "Says he's a Vegas CSI."
"Grissom was here for John's interview," Callieigh spoke up worriedly. ''Alexx, would you go...?"
Alexx nodded, "I'll go ahead, sugar," she replied in a reassuring voice. "This day can't get any worse."
"John?" Bosco asked softly as he came into the exam room and saw that John had fallen asleep on the gurney while holding a vigil for David. "John, it's Maurice. You need to check your sugar and eat."
John groaned and shook his head, "Not til David wakes up," he spoke in a groggy, pained voice.
Frowning, Bosco walked over to the bed and gently, but firmly sat John up, revealing blood on the shirt John refused to change, "You're bleeding," he said in a concerned voice as he pressed the nurse's call.
"It's nothing," John replied shakily as a nurse came into the room. "The wound is just a little sore."
Bosco glared at the nurse just as Dr. Loman came into the room, "My oldest son's a diabetic and nobody thought to check on how pain and injury might affect his blood sugar?" he asked in a harsh voice.
Panic shot through John as the nurse lifted his shirt to check the wound and he broke free of her, not stopping until he was in an empty wheelchair that was in the hall, shaking nervously, "Calm down, it's all right," Bosco said in a soothing voice as he approached the chair. "Just take deep, calming breaths."
"David's only nine," John said in an anxious voice. "I don't understand why any of this happened."
Bosco nodded and gently mussed John's hair, "I don't know either, kiddo," he spoke in a soft voice.
"All right, John, let's have a look at that wound and make sure you rest," Dr. Loman said in a calming voice just as a shaken Ryan came into the main area with Sully at his heels. "Ah, Officer Wolfe..."
Sully suddenly raised a hand and shook his head, "Not now, Bosco," he said in a firm voice.
Suddenly, the entrance doors to the ER opened and Stetler and a solemn looking Tripp came into the area, "It's about time you showed up!" Tommy's voice rang out down the hall. "Arrest him already!"
"Arrest him for what?" Bosco asked in a shocked voice, frowning as Sully patted Ryan's arm reassuringly.
Stetler glared at Tommy and was about to speak, but Ryan held up a hand to silence him and silently put his arms behind his back before turning his back to Tripp, "That idiot shot my mother and she's going beserk in psychiatric care about how he's gonna turn out like our father," Tommy said angrily.
"It'll be house arrest at a location I choose until this mess is straightened out," Stetler snapped, having no patience for Tommy's demands. "As head of Internal Affairs, I will be in charge of this investigation."
Tommy scowled, "Go be with your mother," Tripp said in a stern voice. "We're handling it."
Profanity escaped Tommy's mouth as he stormed off back the way he came, "I don't need to cuff you, Wolfe," Tripp said in a concerned voice. "Stetler just needs to take your badge and gun and then decide where you're going to spend the duration of your house arrest. I'll get someone to notify your family."
"I'll contact you once Stetler settles you in a location," Sully promised as Stetler and Tripp led Ryan out.
Bosco suddenly looked angry, "Sully, what the heck is going on?" he asked sharply. "Why is..?"
"If you'll shut up, Bosco, I'll explain," Sully replied in a sharp voice. "This started a long time ago."
"Are you Ryan's boss?" Tommy asked, spotting Horatio as he and Danielle came out of a private room where they had been discussing the future of the situation. "Are you the one I press charges with?"
Horatio frowned, "Press charges against whom, sir?" he asked politely. "Surely you don't mean...?"
"Ryan shot our mother and she is now up in psychiatric care," Tommy growled. "I'm her power of attorney for the time being and I asked the police to arrest Ryan for trying to kill our mother."
Danielle glared at Tommy, "Officer Wolfe shot because that crazy woman harmed my youngest son and was also going to harm people at the police station," she snapped. "Why on earth would you do that?"
"Mrs. Boscorelli, I can handle this," Horatio replied calmly. "You should go be with your sons and you should also know that Bobby is making sure that your daughter is safe with the other kids at his home."
Upstairs and seemingly unaware of Ryan's arrest, Tim silently found the observation theatre where Emily was being operated on and silently watched as the surgeons worked to save her. He knew that she would need lots of time to recover both physically and emotionally, but she wouldn't have to do it alone. They had had a love for each other for years and in Emily's time of trial, Tim would be there and would stay however long Emily wanted him to.
"I almost ran out of time to show my love for you," Tim whispered softly. "I won't make that mistake again, Emily."
